I was skeptical when we started talking about photos – to be honest, I always end up looking like Chandler from Friends, when a camera appears. Somehow she managed to make me feel comfortable, at peace, and like I was having fun with my wife our best friend. She even managed to make me look decent on our photos, which is an accomplishment by itself.
I would recommend Laurken a thousand times and will be forever thankful for the beautiful memories we have from our special time.

down to earth. Seems impossible, but Laurken can do both. Get you a photographer who can do both. Her work is always stunning and raw and she directs those she is photographing with ease. I cannot emphasize enough how much time you spend with the photographer on your wedding day and I can’t imagine having spent our day with anyone else. e is and I come up short, because I cant find words to say how truly amazingly talented and wonderful she is. Right from the initial inquiry email everything was effortless. She was more than a wedding photographer, she became my calm, my itinerary organizer, my tequila shooting and dancing partner and an honorary member of our entire family. (This was all before we even saw our photos). Fast forward to the big day when she told us they were waiting in our email for us... my husband and I sat together and had to take "tearing up" breaks looking through them because just when we thought we had seen the best photo of the bunch there was another, and another even better, and yet another that blew our minds. The entire portfolio was astounding. She captured things I would have never even thought of and to see it all back made us relive every single second. It was truly more than we could have ever imagined and there is no one else in the entire world I would have ever wanted there with us that day to capture every moment. ur intimate, central coast wedding. We got married in front of a pile of rocks just above the beach, and it was everything we'd hoped it would be. Laurken fit right in and took everything in stride: from my underwear malfunction to all the accents to the looky-loos during the first look. She showed up for us and gave us exactly what we needed.

We took our engagement photos with Laurken in Spokane, WA. We traveled all the way from Oshkosh, WI (somewhere in the neighborhood of a 24-hour drive) and were sleepy-eyed zombies before our photo session. But Laurken, badass that she is, made us feel completely at ease instantly and energized us. Our dream session was to get tattoos together and Laurken made it happen. We also mentioned that we have a minor infatuation with old cemeteries; Laurken found one of those, too. Not only was the day amazing, the photos were brilliant. To say that we felt lucky with our day and experience with Laurken would be an understatement of gargantuan proportions.
Not long after this, Laurken came to Milwaukee for our wedding day. We were nervous about many things on our big day - the catering, the ceremony, the decor - but we weren’t remotely worried about our photographs. After our engagement session, we knew that we were in the best hands. She did not let us down. Her support on the day of was like family and the photos were perfect in ways that we never expected. She even made our friend Brad look good, which is an accomplishment.
Through the wedding process, Laurken became a lifelong friend. We will absolutely be traveling as far as it takes to get photographed by her again. She is the greatest photographer that has ever lived, and you can do nothing to change our minds. The Harry Houdini of head shots. The Janet Jackson of JPGs. The Walt Whitman of white balance.
