Lauryn and Bob were just the best. They entertained all of our crazy ideas, went with the flow of the weather (heat wave) that we were dealt, and tore us away from the party at exactly the right moments to get the best shots. The golden hour images they created are absolute magic.

I cannot say enough nice things about working with Lauryn and Bob. Not only do they bring the most genuine and lovely attitude and vibes but they make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. They were so professional and knew exactly what to do and say to get all the family members together and they have such good vision when it comes to posing and backgrounds. And the pictures that came out in the end?*swoon* they are some of the most gorgeous shots! The colors, the lighting, the composition, all of it was so on point and so amazing. And we got our photos back so quickly! I cannot recommend Lauryn enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pro tip: The wedding and engagement photo combo was the way to do it- not only do you get amazing photos of you and your fiancé before the wedding but getting to know Lauryn and Bob prior to the big day was so nice and made us way more comfortable and we knew what to expect/ what it felt like to be in front of the camera.

Booking Lauryn and Bob from Lauryn Kay Photography was one of the best decisions we did for our wedding day! Having a destination wedding, Lauryn made sure to communicate with us as often as we felt needed and through various platforms (zoom, phone, text). She really made sure that she understood our vision for the day and made our special day seem less. Lauryn's work is so authentic and beautiful. She does a great job capturing the standard photos you imagine taking on your wedding day, which most photographers can do. But her attention to detail and her vision is what sets her apart from the rest. She captured our wedding day in the light that I always want to remember it. All of the little moments of pure joy and happiness were the photos were our favorites. She also has a rare and special gift for capturing emotion, without motion or sound you can feel the energy at any moment during our wedding. Lauryn's photos and work are amazing, but it doesn't just stop there. It was so nice to work with her as well. Her process is amazing where she just meets you at your comfort zone, and makes you feel like you have been loving the camera for your whole life. My husband and I are definitely not photo people, but working with Lauryn made us feel so comfortable and confident. Also having an engagement shoot beforehand where we could see her process, get to know her, and ultimately build a relationship before the big day made all the different. Another thing I have to mention aside from Lauryn's work and process is that I really appreciated that on the day Lauryn really advocated for us as humans. It seems like a given, but it is easy to get wrapped up in checking boxes and making sure everything stays on schedule. But on the day Lauryn really took the time not only to get us amazing shots and make us feel comfortable, but she was really understanding and caring. If we seemed tired she advocated that we take a break. If we seemed frustrated she helped get us space to slow down and just enjoy the moment. I cannot give enough praise. I highly recommend Lauryn as your wedding photographer. Beautiful and emotional work with a great process that makes anyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. But also with the added plus of being an overall caring person and great advocate for you as a couple on the day!

Lauryn and Bob did our wedding June 3rd and we could not be happier, working with them was absolutely fantastic and fun. On the day of, Lauryn was always checking in on me to make sure I was doing okay and as low stress as possible. I really appreciated how attentive she was. Her compassionate touch made me so much more at ease to just enjoy and not worry! That makes the photos turn out better too ;) The photos are out of this world. On top of it all, Lauryn was a huge help in the beginning when I was figuring out which vendors to go with based off of what we wanted. Lauryn is a great communicator and extremely detail oriented when I needed the advice on particular items. She is timely in her responses and is honest, I appreciated that so much. Both her and Bob are very well connected in the Portland area. It is bittersweet this chapter is closing with our wedding wrapping up but we are both glad to have worked with these two amazing artists!

We had the best experience with Lauryn and Bob. From planning to the day of, they were the best! We are from Arizona and had a destination wedding on the Oregon Coast. On my very first phone call with Lauryn I told her that my goal was a day of no stress. Lauryn was so helpful in planning and connecting us to other vendors in the area. Leading up to our wedding day, Lauryn checked in to be sure we had the day of timeline ready and that we were feeling confident and would be able to have a stress free day. Lauryn was so professional in our communication she also was very responsive to days leading up the wedding . As I was planning my own wedding and have been to very few weddings myself, her expertise helped guide us into getting some of the very best photos I could imagine. As I was stressing about the fine details ( the air was very Smokey right before our outdoor wedding) she offer insight on alternative locations close by as well. Thankfully the smoke cleared and we were able to get some of the most beautiful photos possible. When we finally met day of the wedding, she was so kind and sweet and was so easy to work with! I highly recommend hiring Lauryn and Bob as your photographers! We were told going into wedding planning that a quality photographer is one of the most worthwhile investments, and I couldn’t agree more. They were great to work with throughout the planning process and always provided clear and timely communication. We’re especially grateful for how understanding and flexible they were during the stressful time of making the decision to postpone our wedding a year due to Covid. In a time when vendors are overloaded with weddings, we never felt like we were getting anything less than superb care. We received sneak peek photos the day after the wedding (which blew my mind), and the full wedding gallery 2.5 weeks later. I spent hours clicking through the photos over and over again because I was so blown away by them. Wow! Lauryn and Bob so far and above exceeded our expectations. Our photos turned out INCREDIBLY! We did a short notice small family elopement in May 2021 and Lauryn and Bob rolled with all of the Covid ups and downs and just made us feel at ease and so excited from the very first phone call. The thing that most convinced me to book them was how inclusive they were of brides and grooms of all shapes and sizes on their website. Being a photographer, the process of choosing someone to capture our wedding was not easy. After looking through photos from multiple companies in the Portland Metro Area, we stumbled upon Lauryn Kay Photography. After initially meeting with them about 5 months in advance, my wife and I hired Bob and Lauryn to shoot our wedding in May of 2020. Given the circumstances, we ended up having to move our reception to a later date. Bob and Lauryn were super understanding and flexible throughout the whole process as we moved dates and requested certain types of photos. They were on top of their business and are great at checking in with us leading up to the event. When it came to the reception day, all of our photo requests were met and we felt as though our photos turned out great, which is saying a lot since we both come from families of 6+ kids. Lastly, the turn-around for our photos was faster than expected, and we love them all. We really enjoyed working with Bob and Lauryn, and 100% recommend them for your photography needs! Choosing Lauryn and Bob to be our photographers was by far the best decision we made during the wedding planning process. They continued to go above and beyond as we navigated planning and replanning our wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic. We had to sacrifice a lot of what we envisioned for our wedding day but getting absolutely gorgeous photos was not one of them. They’re incredibly professional and if you have any worries about what to do in front of a camera that feeling will quickly go away as they direct you on how to look your best.

Lauryn came highly recommended from my wedding planner – and I’m so grateful. I let Lauryn know early on that my fiancée was nervous about being in front of the camera. She suggested an engagement shoot to help us get comfortable and from that first meeting, we knew we had made the right choice. She worked within our schedule (and budget) to make sure we got all of the shots we wanted from the day. I cannot give enough praise for Lauryn and Bob! They went above and beyond what was ever expected and they were there the ENTIRE step of the way. I'm so sorry it has taken me nearly six months to write this...but my husband and I couldn't have asked for better photographers for our elopement. We are from Ohio and we wanted to get married somewhere in the mountains and decided on Oregon. From the first message I sent to Lauryn she quickly responded, was engaging, and helpful. We talked and figured out the times that worked best to capture the golden hour. She even went beyond her photography skills to send me links of makeup and hair artists. When my husband and I got engaged back in 2013, one of our major priorities for vendor-selection was the photography. Neither of us cared for the overly-posed and stiff style; we were looking for a more photojournalistic approach that captured people in a more artistic and candid light. We took a chance, booking Lauryn and Bob with Lauryn Kay Photography even though we would be one of the first full weddings they had done, and let me tell you, they blew our expectations out of the water! Since we had a Catholic ceremony, there were certain parameters the photographers had to work within, but regardless - looking at the photos, you feel like you are right back experiencing the moment again in everyone’s candid faces. Polite, punctual, and always professional, Lauryn also has amazing attention to detail. Whether in taking the actual photos or doing consultations over a cup of coffee to find out your day-of priorities and developing a schedule to get you the shots you (and your mom!) want. Their great sense of humor kept the mood light and fun and they can make us un-photogenic people look spectacular. My favorite part of the whole experience was seeing the multitude of shots taken of our family and guests at the reception, capturing little moments and interactions that we were too busy (but so happy!) to see. Working with Lauryn was amazing from the very start. At the last minute during a difficult pregnancy Lauryn was able to squeeze me in. She made the whole experience amazing even though it was thrown together on both our sides. Almost a year and my darling daughter later, I got engaged! The first person we told was Lauryn. Seriously, even before my best friend. I knew immediately that she would be perfect for our engagement photos. She made it so easy for Riley considering he’s never had photos taken. Our family and friends love our photos, more importantly we do! I can’t wait to continue sharing our life with Lauryn.

I was beyond excited when finding out Lauryn was available on our wedding day. I happened upon some of her photos when first starting the wedding planning process, and her photos just grabbed me. She scheduled a Skype meeting with my then fiancé and me to answer any questions we had and to discuss details. It was so great to talk with her, and that meeting solidified our decision to hire her. Lauryn hadn’t been feeling well for several days leading up to our wedding. She showed up with her game face on though, and nobody could have guessed that she wasn’t feeling 100%. She captured our day beautifully and made the photo process so enjoyable. It was an honor to have her and Bob capture our wedding day, and we’ve truly enjoyed getting to know them through the process. We can’t wait to work with them again in the future! My husband and I were honored to have Lauryn photograph our wedding and I cannot say enough positive things about her work. She made our big day that much more special by documenting the moments we were too busy to notice and made us very comfortable being in front of the camera. She was even willing to travel to Idaho for our wedding and spent a second day with us for a “trash the dress” session. We cannot thank her enough for the amount of time she spent before, during and after our big day to bring those photos so close to our hearts. I don’t feel particularly beautiful, but the photos Lauryn Kay captured of my fiancé and I during our engagement session are simply stunning. Working with Lauryn made us feel so comfortable which in turn allowed my fiancé and I just to enjoy each other and have fun during our session. Lauryn Kay captured our joy and love perfectly. First off, Lauryn and Bob are the BEST!! Definitely book them!! They really came to my rescue. I was having a hard time finding a photographer for my wedding day. There are an overwhelming amount of options for the Portland area and I’m very particular about the photography style I like. I looked at a lot of options, but I just wasn’t finding anyone that stood out to me. After months of indecision, my wedding day was dangerously close and I was still without a photographer. I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to find anybody (because everyone would be booked for that day already) or that I’d find someone but they wouldn’t live up to my expectations and I’d have to compromise my vision, that I started to lose hope. I decided to post on a Facebook wedding page to see if any photographers were still available for that day and I was surprised how many comments I got. Even though dozens of photographers contacted me, it was when I saw Lauren’s web page that I knew I could still have the wedding day I dreamed of! Looking through her gallery, I knew instantly that I wanted her to photograph my wedding! Her photography style is so beautiful and was EXACTLY what I was looking for! I honestly couldn’t believe how great things had worked out! I booked her right away (I’m so happy she was available last minute!) and she graciously agreed to work with my budget. Lauryn was truly a joy to work with. The planning process went seamlessly, she was always super responsive to emails and offered to help in any way she could, and she was so easy to talk to. She has an infectiously happy and bubbly personality and you can tell she is genuinely interested in the people she meets and works with. Also (as is apparent by her portfolio) she really knows her stuff! I knew my wedding day was in good hands and my mind was finally at ease. As expected, Lauryn and Bob were a delight to have around on our wedding day! It’s the best day of your life and A LOT of pictures are going to be taken, so it’s important to have a photographer with a good personality who knows what they’re doing! My husband and I are not usually comfortable in front of a camera, but Lauryn and Bob expertly guided us through the process and helped us feel at ease. The pictures turned out AMAZING and they’re EXACTLY what I hoped for! Not a moment of our wonderful day was missed and now we have beautiful memories to look back on. I’m so grateful for how things worked out and if I ever need pictures taken again, I know who to go to!!

Booking Lauryn & Bob for our wedding was one of the best vendor decisions we made. It didn’t occur to me that we’d be spending nearly every moment of our wedding day with our photographers, but now that I know that, I’m so grateful it was them. When little things went wrong, Lauryn distracted me by asking me to pose for fun photos. They worked magic with our large wedding party & family; making jokes as necessary to lighten the mood. Neither my husband nor I feel particularly comfortable in front of a camera, but we felt totally at ease with these two and it showed in the end product. The photos are absolutely stunning.
