About this vendor
Lavender Essentials of Vermont is a farm and wedding venue located in Derby, VT. Pierre and Michele Capron started the lavender farm in 2017. Michele and Pierre grew up on dairy farms in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and are proud to be the next generation of farmers, working the same land as Michele's grandparents once did.
We did a lot of research and planning before we began our adventure. We were determined we would be successful lavender farmers! Our driving force was our desire to work for ourselves, step away from our high-pressure jobs, and utilize family land. We felt lavender was the right crop for us, so with a brave entrepreneurial spirit, we took the leap and fully committed ourselves to using our knowledge and resources. With a lot of hard work and a little luck, we made our small lavender farm sustainable and prosperous.
Our Farm has amazing 360' views for miles around the US and Canada. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit, relaxing the souls and bringing wellness to all who see it. We are excited to offer a creative destination through eco-tourism, complete with a full line of aromatherapy products and handmade crafts from our Farm. We even distill the lavender we grow to make our own essential oil. We have a beautiful farm, perfect for your Destination Wedding!
We are so much more than just a Lavender Farm! We have unique classes on the Farm, such as Nature Wreath Creations, Fairy Garden Creations, Can I Eat That - about foraging in Vermont, Yoga & Mimosas, Paint & Sip, Besom Broom Creations, and so many more! We have walking trails with informational placards, the Fairy Woods Forest Walk, and a Geocache on site. We grow enough vegetables and herbs to feed our family for a year! We also have egg-laying hens and raise our Cornish Hens and Duroc Pigs. Michele forages many things, such as Fiddleheads, Ramps, BlackBerries, and High Bush Cranberries. We pick apples & grapes and make Maple Syrup from our trees. We purchase local beef and raw cow milk from neighboring farms. We are genuinely Farm-to-table!
We specialize in unique experiences. We host private Romantic Date Nights and personal Chef's Choice farm-to-table dinners in our Gazebo. We offer Picnic in the Lavender Field, Sunday Afternoon Tea and Cookies, Smores nights, Full moon Labyrinth Walks, & Mocktails in the Moonlight. We even host an Annual 5K and a Mac and Cheese Festival!
We are the premier agritourism destination in Vermont! Whether you need rest and relaxation, classes, exercise, or experiences, we have it all! We have campsites for RVs and tents. We offer You-Pick Lavender and Sunflowers when they are in season.
Nestled in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, Pierre and Michele Capron's Lavender Farm invites you to experience sustainable farming against a backdrop of stunning 360-degree views. Immerse yourself in eco-tourism with unique classes, farm-to-table dinners, and signature events like our Annual 5K and Mac and Cheese Festival.
