⭐️ One star — and honestly, that feels generous.
Our experience with this venue was incredibly frustrating from start to finish. The communication was poor, the pricing was not tr...
ansparent, and what we were told to expect financially was very different from what we ultimately had to pay.
During the planning process, after discussing the various costs and what we wanted for our wedding, we came to the understanding that the final cost would be around $10,000. Once the invoices started coming in, however, the total ended up being approximately $15,000.
That is a $5,000 difference — not a minor unexpected expense or a few additional fees. That's a huge amount of money to suddenly discover you owe after you've already made plans and commitments based on the pricing that was discussed.
What made it even more frustrating was the lack of clear communication. We repeatedly had to try to get clarification about costs and what was actually included. For a venue charging this much money, we expected transparency and straightforward communication. Instead, we felt like we were constantly trying to figure out what we were actually going to be charged.
The biggest lesson we learned is this: do not assume that the price you discuss with this venue is the price you will actually pay. Get absolutely everything in writing, including every fee, every service, and the complete expected total. Verbal conversations and expectations are not enough.
A wedding is already an incredibly expensive and stressful experience. The last thing couples need is to discover thousands of dollars in additional costs because pricing wasn't communicated clearly from the beginning.
For us, the combination of poor communication, lack of transparency, and a final cost approximately 50% higher than what we understood the wedding would cost completely ruined our confidence in the venue.
We would not use this venue again, and based on our experience, we would strongly encourage other couples to carefully scrutinize every cost before committing.
I am making this review to warn all brides. EVERYTHING STATED IN THIS REVIEW IS MY EXPERIENCE AND THE TRUTH.
STAY AWAY FROM SANDRA.
Although her venue is beautiful.. it simply i...
s not worth the heartache and headaches you will receive. We were warned by countless previous brides to not say yes to the venue. We overlooked these things and hoped for the best simply because our wedding was 7 months out and other venues that could accommodate 250 people were already booked.
It all started from the beginning when Sandra tried to raise the coordination fee from the set price of $1,000 to $1,900!! This is simply insane. There will be tons of hidden fees she will try to add onto your big day. Weddings already cost an arm and leg. There is no reason to wring couples dry just trying to have the best day of their lives.
Then we got hit with the Spokane fires. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by the fires, and lost their homes. Obviously the fire was neither party’s fault. It was a NATURAL DISASTER.
Page 5 of her contract states "Cancellation by Lessor (Unforeseen Circumstances)":
Lavender Manor may cancel if unforeseen circumstances make hosting the event impossible or impractical, including:
* Property damage
* Natural disasters
* Emergencies
* Changes in legal restrictions
* Any other condition that prevents reasonable use of the facility.
In such cases, the Lessor will refund all payments made by the Lessee.”
This is a lie. She will NOT give you any money back. She will tell you that she is NOT canceling the event so she doesn’t have to return the money. Please tell me how as a bride I can gamble my wedding day? Hope that the level 3 evacuation is lifted? We have been checking the past 3 days and the fire is still currently 0% contained. My wedding this Saturday!!!!! 3 days away!!!!
Page 7 of her contract also states:
“In the event of inclement weather such as rain, snow or wind, which renders Lavender Manor unsuitable for use, as determined in the sole discretion
of Lavender Manor, Client's Event may be rescheduled to another comparable (ie, same day of the week that is available) and available date at no cost
to Client. Lavender Manor will act in good faith and will not unreasonably withhold or delay any decisions made under this agreement..”
She recommended “The venue” to us in Spokane valley. Please tell me how this venue is of equal value. Mind you, we paid close to $10,000. This amount of money is not pocket change we are young newly wed couple. 23 and 20 years of age. This amount of money is life changing for the next few years.
Then she offered another venue that can only accommodate 150 guests. What about our 100 other guests we paid for? Do we need to be picking who gets to spend the big day with us? And send them a message 3 days before our wedding that plans changed and we can’t have them there??
We pleaded and begged Sandra to just pay $5,000 so we can go to a venue of equal value. (This venue discounted their venue by 50% because their hearts hurt after hearing what happened to us). Sandra told us she will under no circumstances do that. Why? It states that you WOULD in your very own contact. She told us she doesn’t have the money and she can’t.

Sandra will make planning your wedding the worst day of your life!!! Beautiful venue but terrible terrible host!! Honestly so sad to say, but I truly do not recommend anyone bookin...
g with her!!
DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE!!!
Sandra is NOT a nice person, she is very very sneaky with how she words things and like to overcharge on everything. she does not make wedding planning go...
easy, she is the most stressful person to work with! i had my wedding there a couple of years ago and the day itself was beautiful but dealing with her was the worst. later the next year i had a friend book this venue and they too said she was the worst person to deal with and she cried many many many tears because she regretted booking the venue but she would lose a lot of money so she stayed with this venue. this year i have another friend booked with this venue (even though we warned how terrible Snasra truly is) she truly underestimated how bad she is. she is now crying 5 days before her wedding because Sandra CANCELED her wedding and WILL NOT refund ANY of the money even though her contract states for “natural disasters cancellation” "In such cases, the Lessor will refund all payments made by the Lessee. This refund constitutes the Lessee's sole and exclusive remedy." now my friend has to look for another venue days before her wedding, loosing $10k because Sandra IS THE WORST PERSON EVER
I could not have asked for a more inviting, professional, and hard working group of people for both my wedding and reception. Everyone involved did amazing in making sure that our ...
big day was perfect!
