We overlooked these things and hoped for the best simply because our wedding was 7 months out and other venues that could accommodate 250 people were already booked. It all started from the beginning when Sandra tried to raise the coordination fee from the set price of $1,000 to $1,900!! This is simply insane. There will be tons of hidden fees she will try to add onto your big day. Weddings already cost an arm and leg. There is no reason to wring couples dry just trying to have the best day of their lives. Then we got hit with the Spokane fires. My heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by the fires, and lost their homes. Obviously the fire was neither party’s fault. It was a NATURAL DISASTER. Page 5 of her contract states "Cancellation by Lessor (Unforeseen Circumstances)": Lavender Manor may cancel if unforeseen circumstances make hosting the event impossible or impractical, including: * Property damage * Natural disasters * Emergencies * Changes in legal restrictions * Any other condition that prevents reasonable use of the facility. In such cases, the Lessor will refund all payments made by the Lessee.” This is a lie. She will NOT give you any money back. She will tell you that she is NOT canceling the event so she doesn’t have to return the money. Please tell me how as a bride I can gamble my wedding day? Hope that the level 3 evacuation is lifted? We have been checking the past 3 days and the fire is still currently 0% contained. My wedding this Saturday!!!!! 3 days away!!!! Page 7 of her contract also states: “In the event of inclement weather such as rain, snow or wind, which renders Lavender Manor unsuitable for use, as determined in the sole discretion of Lavender Manor, Client's Event may be rescheduled to another comparable (ie, same day of the week that is available) and available date at no cost to Client. Lavender Manor will act in good faith and will not unreasonably withhold or delay any decisions made under this agreement..” She recommended “The venue” to us in Spokane valley. Please tell me how this venue is of equal value. Mind you, we paid close to $10,000. This amount of money is not pocket change we are young newly wed couple. 23 and 20 years of age. This amount of money is life changing for the next few years. Then she offered another venue that can only accommodate 150 guests. What about our 100 other guests we paid for? Do we need to be picking who gets to spend the big day with us? And send them a message 3 days before our wedding that plans changed and we can’t have them there?? We pleaded and begged Sandra to just pay $5,000 so we can go to a venue of equal value. (This venue discounted their venue by 50% because their hearts hurt after hearing what happened to us). Sandra told us she will under no circumstances do that. Why? It states that you WOULD in your very own contact. She told us she doesn’t have the money and she can’t.
