y dress, turned into a stressful and heartbreaking ordeal.
Purchasing the dress initially seemed fine, but that changed when I was blindsided by a $1,500 charge for alterations. The staff only referred to it as Level 3, with no explanation of what that meant. I later learned it was their most expensive alteration package, yet I had not agreed to it or been informed about the cost upfront.
My dress was a fitted mermaid gown with only two to three thin layers, not a complicated ballgown. The work required did not justify such an expensive fee. Promises regarding alterations, timelines, and fittings were broken repeatedly. When I raised concerns, I was met with excuses, defensiveness, and blame.
During my first fitting, nothing was done to the dress. With two weeks until my wedding, the seamstress scheduled me for Thursday, one week before the wedding. I requested Monday instead, but Maria, the owner, texted me saying the seamstress had forgotten my dress. Despite my urgency, they refused to retrieve it, and the appointment was rescheduled back to Thursday, the day I had initially said I did not want.
When I arrived that Thursday, the dress was still incorrect. The sleeves were too tight, the back hem remained pointed despite my request, the breast cups were positioned too high before being adjusted, and the dress was too long, causing me to trip. I asked for shortening, but the seamstress yelled at me, citing her thirty-five years of experience. I reminded her that this was my once-in-a-lifetime wedding and pleaded for the agreed alterations. I left in tears, convinced my dress would not be ready.
I requested a call with Maria. She spent the entire conversation yelling, speaking over me, and accusing me of being stressed and not eating. When I asked for a refund of the $1,500, Maria insisted I could only receive it if I signed a disclosure promising not to post a review.
When I returned to pick up my dress, the seamstress was cold and harsh, and the dress was still not correctly altered. I had no choice but to accept it as it was.
What should have been one of the happiest moments of my wedding planning became a stressful and heartbreaking ordeal. Luxe Bridal Rack does not care about their customers, their satisfaction, or the quality of their work. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay far away from this shop.

The woman that answered the phone berated me for finding a dress at another salon, called me "greedy" and "rude," and chose to lecture me on my life choices. I wish I had just shown up for the appointment to avoid the whole encounter with her instead of trying to do the right thing. As if navigating this bridal salon system isn’t enough, she proceeded to shame me for buying “whatever dress I could have possibly found” at the other salon (they were excellent and highly recommend, Dimitra’s Bridal) before hanging up on me. ’t trust her. I wish I read more reviews before ordering. My dress was a total disaster when Maria said there would be no problem with custom options (which I paid 3x the price for). I had to fly the seamstress to my wedding destination week of the wedding and the dress still looks awful - creases in the dress in my photos - so bad the photographer had to try to position my husbands hand to cover them up in pictures. The seamstress even said “she warned Maria these Yaniv Persey dresses were bad many times before”. Yet Maria promised a custom option would be no issue. Run to another store and save yourself the time, money and disappointment on your wedding day.

Full background: I had a great experience picking and purchasing my dress with Dana. She was experienced and knew how to work with my body shape. After purchasing was where my troubles began. I had two options keep my dress and do in-house alterations or seek an external business. I thought inhouse while more expensive would better guarantee level of care and ownership for the final result and delivery. I was wrong.
The owner forgot my first alterations appointment with the only comment “hmm I am usually better at this” and asked me to verify by showing the email confirmation. She asked me and my party to return 1.5 hours later as they only do alterations on Mondays. Here is where I would like to clarify my experience was tarnished by the owner, not the seamstress she was very fast I felt was competent and great at her job.
My second appointment was supposed to be when the dress would be complete with all major changes in time for polishing and final pick up. I arrived late due to traffic but my sisters were already there and had to listen to them badmouth me about lacking respect when in truth at least I remember my commitments. The dress was far from ready and the panic set in to make the timing they promised a year in advance. With the dress for 4+ months delivered and in their care.
The 3rd appointment happened in the time after many extraneous conversations and pushing to make it in time for me to travel on a date always documented. Apologies were exchanged but the relationship at that point was tarnished beyond repair. The owner Maria in my experience left me and my family disrespected, unseen, and undervalued. She said this was so much more than a business to her and I believe it's true, I think she's lost in the pursuit of growth the empathy that yes this is her everyday but for me, it's my once in-a-lifetime.

LBR was one of 4 areas in the county that carried the designer to my dress. I called Maria in Feb to see if they could get the dress in. She said “We aren’t going to carry that designer anymore but I can still get the dress.” (I have receipts) I was doing a weekday appt. so she said could have 6 guests. I told her I was traveling from CO exclusively for this dress and she assured me she could get it. I made the appt., booked a VRBO, and invited 6 friends. I sent Maria photos/ name of the dress and confirmed my appt. for 7 people. I should have know this would be a disaster after NEVER getting a response. I had to email and call multiple times to get ahold of her to confirm she received my email. She said she “emailed me back” but she didn’t. She again stated she could get the dress but it wouldn’t be ordered until it was closer to my appt. May rolled around and I wanted to confirm my dress was ordered since communication thus far was terrible. That’s when Maria said “the owner has decided to not carry this designer so we can’t get your dress”. WHY WASN’T I NOTIFIED?! I expressed my concerns as 7 GIRLS WERE TRAVELING TO CHIAGO FOR THIS ONE DRESS. I was devastated to say the least. I told Maria she needed to tell the owner as I know this is something the owner of a small business would need to know. Maria said the owner made the decision to not carry the dress so “let me know if I want to keep the appt.” She had no empathy or compassion for the situation. Instead, she was combative and rude. IN WHAT WORLD IS THAT AN APPROPRIATE WAY TO RESOLVE AN ISSUE?! I was in tears and cried on the phone to my maid of honor. I was devastated (I still am). My maid of honor called the bridal shop and Maria said my appt. would be amazing and they would pull dresses a week in advance to replicate the style of my dream dress. (Surprise surprise- that never happened) I went to look for the owners contact info because I knew she would want to know what happened. Turns out Maria is the owner! She is just a narcissist that refers to herself in third person. I shouldn’t have kept the appt. but the Chicago trip was booked and honestly the whole situation had me mentally exhausted. I was hoping for the best. I was excited to try on dresses for the first time, we get to the appt., and the employee working was RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and even dressed in slides and yoga pants. I don’t know her name because she never introduced herself. In fact, she acted like my arrival was a complete surprise. She then tried to kick out my party and said it was against policy to have 7 people even though it was confirmed 3 months prior. WAY TO SET THE TONE FOR THE REST OF THE APPT. I fell in love with a dress. But honestly the vibe was so off I couldn’t give them my money. The employee offered me a 10% discount for everything that transpired but the entire experience was so horrific, getting a free dress from them wouldn’t have made this experience any better. e. Robbie (Roberta) was the agent I worked with and I can't say enough nice things about her. She really listened to what I wanted and my concerns. She offered honest advice, and she wasn't pushy! One thing I wasn't expecting during my shopping experience was how many pushy sales people are out there. Robbie never tried to pressure me into committing to a dress I wasn't ready to buy. And on top of that, I really felt she knew how to make the sample dresses LOOK GOOD. It's hard to envision what the gowns look like without someone pinning it properly, and I really think she did the best job making the gowns look the way they're supposed to. I still have many months to go before I get my dress, so I can't say much about shipping times and alterations, but the shopping experience was really lovely.

The owner told me that there were likely back-ups due to Covid but I was ONLY told this after calling and emailing the store numerous times. Covid delays are understandable but it should have been the stores responsibility to contact any brides that purchased dresses through them that they could expect delays. They would not start alterations until one month before our wedding date, and then when I returned for the second dress fitting one week before our wedding 2/4 of the agreed upon alterations had been overlooked and not even attempted. I then agreed to go to another location further away to pick up my finished dress the next day from the seamstress, and although she was very kind I was not satisfied with the quality of the alterations. The store manager did not call me back until three days after I left a concerned message about the end result, and I also never received a response to an “urgent” email I had sent the same day regarding my concerns. I felt that I was overcharged and received very poor quality alterations and this store did not care. Luckily, I took my dress for a second opinion and all of the issues were fixed and additional improvements were made and I was charged less than half of the price that Luxe charged me. Thus, I would definitely not recommend pursuing alterations here if you do end up purchasing your dress at this store.

The lady I worked with the following weekend was very pushy when I told her I don’t know if this was my dress after all, I just felt like the other dress was more me, and she asked in a “nice way” if it was a money thing and if I couldn’t afford it. This comment upset me so much and I don’t know why, because if I liked the dress enough to put it on hold, I could afford it. It just wasn’t a good experience the second time. I definitely don’t want to hold that against her, it’s a legitimate question but not for someone who came back to try it back on after putting it on hold. Just made me very upset the way I was being told my other dress was inferior, instead of what makes me feel the happiest and a bride. Otherwise my experience went great! Parking is awful though, be careful after a snow.

I selected LBR as an option because I planned my wedding in 6 months and did not have time to buy a wedding dress at a traditional boutique where your dress takes months to get to the shop. I told the saleswoman my budget was $1700 for a dress. I found something for $1750 with tax and was pleased. The dress was already my size and the saleswoman said it fit well and would need minimal alterations (hem, some taking in at the bust, and a bustle added.) At the time I purchased the dress, I was told to make an alterations appointment 2 months before the date which seemed a little late to me, but she assured me it was enough time. No pricing for the alterations was discussed.
I called the shop 2 months before the date to make an appointment and there were no appointments available until the following week when I was going out of town, so I had to make the appointment 3 weeks later than was recommended (appointments are Saturdays ONLY). At the first fitting, the alterations staff scolded me for not bringing my shoes. Maybe this is common knowledge but I had not in fact purchased them yet, and was never told to bring them. Then when it came time to discuss pricing, I was shocked to be told that alterations STARTED at $650. If I had had more time to shop around at this point, I would have chosen a different tailor. But I actually needed the dress in 3 weeks. I was shocked I was not told about pricing sooner as I was clear about my budget before I even bought the dress. The alterations staff agreed to drop the price to $450 given that the alterations were minor and I didn't have time to take it elsewhere at this point.
About a week before I had to leave for my wedding, I picked up the dress and noticed there was a pin stuck in the hem line, several inches up from the bottom of the skirt. This indicated to me that the dress had not been hemmed. I called the store and the woman assured me that the seamstress had just left the pin accidentally and not to worry. I WISH I had tried WALKING in the dress after noticing this error. I was tripping on the skirt walking down the aisle and I'm convinced the inner skirt with the pin was in fact, NOT HEMMED.
All in all, disappointed with the alterations but would still recommend the shop for purchasing only.

April passed by still no word.
Beginning of May I sent an email:
Hello Maria,
I would like to connect about the dress I ordered back in october.
Two weeks later: No call, no email.
I called 2x left a voicemail, no call back.
3rd call. I finally connect w Maria. "Your dress did arrive in March, but it was the wrong color, so we sent it back. We should be getting your dress in white soon."
Mid May, I call: update?
"It's been shipped, should take time because of Covid"
can you please update me?
"of course"
No update
1st wk June, I call: "It's in customs, should be here next week. We will be able to get it altered for yourJuly 4th date"
2nd wk of June I call, no answer leave a voicemail.
3rd wk of June: Sales associate leaves a voicemail would like to update you on your dress.
June 25th: "We have an update! your dress Just Shipped on Sunday, we should get it by the end of next week!"
I am getting married Next Saturday... do you understand what that means?

The owner is not there. The dress is a sample & needs complete deconstruction, hemming and shortening. The sizing is not the same, the entire top portion of the garment is different. I wonder if this is someone else's dress. There is way too much to be done to be ready by 7/4.
I ask them to show me something that wont need an entire overhall. I find something. They offer to sell me the dress at cost vs suggested retail (400 dollar difference to my original)
The sales associate says has to forfeit her commission! Considering she has been the only person to help me this is not ok.
