Le Gateau's cake was the most delicious part of our wedding. I especially loved the 16 flavor tasting box. We chose a 3 tiered cake with each tier a different flavor. We selected a style from their photos of past wedding cakes. They were professional and easy to work with via email. Highly recommended!!!

We loved our wedding cake from them! I actually grew up nearby and had always seen Le Gateau Elegant, but had never actually gone in until our wedding planner recommended them. Karen was so sweet, professional, easy to work with, and responsive to all of my questions. We sent her a few pictures of cakes that we thought were pretty, and she gave us estimates on price and made some suggestions on how to balance aesthetics and our budget. Karen gave us a complimentary tasting box with 16 flavors, 2 substantial pieces of each, which was so much fun trying with our parents. We ended up choosing a 3-tier tiramisu cake with buttercream frosting, which was supplemented by a sheet cake. The cake turned out beautifully and was delicious. Karen's cakes were also reasonably priced, in comparison to other wedding cake vendors in the area. We will definitely be back for other sweet treats!

Karen from Le Gateau Elegant was very responsive and great to work with. She prepared an amazing tasting box for us and we had such a difficult time choosing between all the amazing flavors. Karen and her team made our wedding cake and several additional desserts. The cake was beautiful - exactly what we had asked for and both the cakes and desserts were absolutely delicious. Our guests loved them! I would definitely recommend Le Gateau Elegant and look forward to being back in the area to have the opportunity to stop by the bakery for some treats!

Karen did such an amazing job with our wedding cake. It was absolutely stunning, I couldn't stop looking at it all night (pictures don't do it justice). During the tasting (which was free!) we probably tried around 15 flavor combinations. It was amazing and overwhelming. You seriously can't go wrong with any of the flavors. We chose to do Swedish princess and Frangelico truffle. Both were so yummy it different ways. We were originally only going to do two tiers (since we only had around 50 guests) but in the end we decided to go with 3 because we knew it would look like more of a statement, and we were right! The price is quite expensive, but I wouldn't have changed a thing. I've never had cake so delicious before. Because we went with the extra tier, we had leftovers for the guests to take home and they went quickly! We weren't quite sure what design we wanted to go with, but we wanted something sort of classic and elegant. Karen has books with lots of examples to look through for inspiration. We ended up finding a design on Pinterest that we liked. When we showed it to her she explained that one part of it is hard to get perfect and would cost extra, so she suggested something different that kept the same feeling and it was perfect! She also added buttercream flowers for free in colors that complemented our wedding.

I have had cakes from here in the past so I already knew I wanted my wedding cake from this bakery. The tasting was well done with a lot of samples and cappuccinos set out for my group of 4 people. I didn't have a clear idea of what I wanted and the books on display are a bit outdated. I chose a design I liked well enough and the process was simple since I was getting married at Scott's restaurant in Walnut Creek (their florist did the flowers). A few weeks before the wedding, after many hours on Pinterest, I totally changed my mind on design and wanted a blush pink ombre instead of the white on white grape design. The bakery was super busy and I was concerned it might become complicated. The owner called me a few hours later and confirmed she could change it. It was a showstopper! I'm so glad I went with my instincts and chose something more suitable for my garden wedding. No surprise, the cake was delicious too.

After doing a few cake tastings, we knew that the cake at Le Gateau Elegant was the best and most moist we had tasted during our rounds. Karen was really easy to work with and she saw our vision very easily. We had 2 different flavors in our 3 tiered cake, which I am very glad we did to give people options between chocolate and the princess. Many of our guests at the wedding had multiple slices of cake because it was so good. Karen did an amazing job!

My wife and I absolutely loved our wedding cake. My mother swears by Le Gateau and only gets cakes from them for everything from birthdays to my wedding. The cake was stunningly beautiful and delicious. The guests raved about it and the pictures of it were liked by nearly all our friends. The staff is always so kind and responsive, they answered all our questions right away and were always helpful. We had an outdoor wedding and they even helped us with flavors and decorations that could survive the summer sun and stay beautiful and delicious. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone that needs a cake for any reason.

I used Le Gateau on the recommendation of a family friend who had a cake at another wedding and said it was amazing. When my mom and I went for the tasting, we were equally impressed. I also wanted a dessert bar and ordered just a small 2 tier cake for cutting and then cupcakes, brownies, petit fours and macaroons. I didn't even get any the day of my wedding because they were gone! I only had the bite of cake after my husband and I cut it and fed it to each other. It was delicious. My only complaint is that the event coordinator said the delivery person literally dropped the cake and desserts on the table and didn't unpack them, help distribute them on the dessert stands, nothing. My event coordinator was put off by this and the drivers attitude. I had discussed how I wanted the flowers on the cake with the bakery but my florist ended up stepping in to do it. That's one of the only reasons I didn't give them 5 stars. I think the professionalism should extend to the delivery driver as well since they are also a very important part. Otherwise I was very happy.

We ordered our wedding cake from Le Gateau Elegant two months before our wedding. Despite ordering a tad last minute, the cake was beautiful and sooooooo delicious! We must have tried over 20 different flavors at our tasting and every single one of them was amazing. We were also delighted to learn that they offer any of their flavors gluten free. (we had several guests with allergies) In the end we decided on a layer of tiramisu, two layers of chocolate hazelnut (i don't remember the name of the combination but it tasted a bit like Nutella. yum!) and a gluten free sheet cake of chocolate, with chocolate and more chocolate. :-) On our wedding day, we were not disappointed. The cake was decorated beautifully and the flavors were just as fantastic as we remembered. By the end of the wedding, there wasn't a single piece of cake left... I think our guests must have liked it! We'll also be ordering a smaller cake as a replica of the top tier for our first anniversary, since we didn't want to try to keep buttercream good in the freezer. And they'll definitely be my go to bakery for any other events!

The staff at Le Gateau is very professional and kind. They allowed me to bring in my own flowers (to save money!) to adorn the cake, and I got just what I wanted! Not only was the cake simple and elegant (just what I requested!) but it was absolutely delicious!!! They have so many flavors to choose from, and the quality was great, especially considering that they were more affordable than some other places we checked out. Thank you for the fantastic service!

We booked this bakery for our 3-tiered cake because we liked the cake the best and the price was right. We wanted a simple design...a single stripe of ribbon around each layer...we provided the cake topper. It didn't seem like anybody wrote anything down because they kept getting the design wrong when we checked in with them for various things. Then, one of the ribbons we dropped off wasn't going to work for the cake, but they didn't tell us that until a couple days before the wedding, which is an extremely busy time! We had given it to them weeks prior. That was quite frustrating. The cake was delicious and the final product was what we wanted, but the process was less than desirable. Seems like they could be a bit more organized.

You know when you go to a wedding and for the most part you don't remember the taste of the cake... Well not at mine!! Everyone said how amazing the cake was and asked where and how I found them. I will go back to this place for many many years to come. Not too mention- they have an adorable store front!

The bakers at Le Gateau let our creative cake topper shine. The cake inside was just as exquisite. The only complaint was trying to return the "cake plate". We were not sure if they meant the board the cake sat on or the plate that sat under the topper. We needed to have the bakers remove the latter and had lost track of the former.

I loved my wedding cake. I sent a picture of the cake I liked and they were able to make it. Everyone at the wedding enjoyed the cake as well. Several people had more then one piece of cake!

My mom recommended this bakery with high praise and I see why. Each of their pastries are so delicious. We ordered 150 red velvet cupcakes filled with cream cheese, iced in vanilla buttercream; and 150 vanilla cupcakes with lemon buttercream frosting - which were absolutely to die for. In case you wanted to know, they delivered and set up for us the day of the wedding. The only things I would change about our wedding cupcakes were the gold paper baking cups suggested to us as well as the hint of orange and green buds for simple decoration - it slightly gave a "casual" look that I wasn't quite going for. Other than that, I purchased a jewel topper to dress up our 6" lemon cointreau wedding cake for our keeping. Without this, and the cake stand, the display would have looked "all bad." BUT, I have to say, the cupcakes were a hit! All the "misses" I listed were overlooked because of the taste. Thank goodness.

If you get your wedding cake from this bakery, make sure you order extra! Make cake had 3 tiers of 3 different flavors. Most guest went back for seconds and thirds! Everyone wanted to try ever flavor because it was SO delicious. The biggest hit was the heath bar crunch flavor. SO GOOD. it was also more beautiful than I could have imagined.

We got so many compliments on how good the cake was! It was gorgeous and tasted great - what more could you ask for! The service was great - they connected with the florist and made sure everything was taken care of. They are moving to a location in Walnut Creek so they will even be in a better location!

All I can say about my cake is WOW. I heard from several vendors Le Gateau Elegant was the way to go if you want something glamorous for a cake and boy did they deliever! I wanted a girly cake with pink, sparkle and a bow. The cake was breath taking and went above and beyond my expectations. At the end of the day, was it a lot of money for the cake? Yes. Was it worth it? Without a doubt.

Just walking into Le Gateau Elegant, you know you will have the most beautiful cake for your wedding! The customer service when we were there for our cake tasting was 5 stars! And most importantly... the cakes are scrumptious! We chose the Frangelico Mousse cake for our wedding and it was simply amazing! I have had several guests tell me it's the best wedding cake they've ever had... I absolutely agree!

We had tried Le Gateau Elegant's Swedish Princess Cake at a wedding fair a year before our wedding. My then fiancé and I would often talk about how amazing the cake was, but we always figured it was probably too expensive. After researching cake costs we realized that the cake was very reasonable compared to other bakeries and it was definitely in our price range! Karen, the owner was great. She was very accommodating even up until the last two weeks when I wanted to change the design we had settled on! Our cake was so pretty! Everyone raved at the flavors and taste. I highly recommend Karen and Le Gateau Elegant Bakery!

The cake tasted awesome!! With that being said I think they are a little more expensive then other local cake shops. I was not impressed with the customer service, and the owner is arrogant, but it is great cake. When I brought my husband now into taste the owner was 45 minutes late to the appointment with no apologies.

I LOVE Le Gateau Elegant!! We got our wedding cake for our 4/30/11 wedding at Heather Farms from here. I'm so glad we discovered them from our reception's preferred list. We had gone tasting at a few other bakeries in Walnut Creek and were so disappointed by the boring flavors and ridiculously high costs. We never would have thought to look at a little bakery in downtown Martinez, but I'm so glad we did! I took a friend to the tasting, and we probably tried 25 complex, gourmet flavors, all of which were amazing. I would have been happy with any of them. We went with Swedish Princess Cake for the largest portion, which was by far my favorite, and it seems like is one of their most popular. For our other two flavors, we went with Frangelico Truffle and Lemon Cointreau, both of which were delicious. Karen did a beautiful job on our cake, and it was exactly like we envisioned. I think their price is very fair compared to other cake vendors, and the quality surpasses most cakes that I have tried.

This was the third place we tasted for wedding cakes and I was more than thrilled with it. The value, the design, the flavors all were better than anything else. The service was excellent and I had people saying it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. My sister is going to use them for her wedding next year! Try the princess cake!

We went in for the cake tasting and they had so many flavors to chose from. They really listened to what we wanted and steared us to the right flavors. The day of the wedding they delivered the cake for free. It was perfect and beautiful and exactly what we wanted! Also it tasted soooo good!!! Everyone also told us how great it was!
