I cannot recommend Le Musee de f.p.c. highly enough! Firstly, as a museum it offers an important history and an interesting collection. As a wedding venue, it is a beautiful building with a courtyard perfect for intimate weddings. As a plus, the venue charges fees by the hour as well as by the number of guests, which means that a smaller guest list will incur a smaller venue fee. The fountain makes for a gorgeous backdrop on its own. The courtyard is also well-shaded by trees and was generally comfortable even for my July early evening wedding ceremony. There is room, though for a small ceremony inside as well if a backup plan is needed and the coordinator made sure to walk through the backup plan. The courtyard is lovely, but also an odd size, so it was hard to find a tent to fit it – luckily, we didn’t need it.
I planned my wedding from California, so I communicated with the staff mostly via email. The process was smooth and there was generally good communication throughout my planning. Because I had a relatively small (fewer than 50 guests) wedding, the museum had enough chairs, tables, linens and glassware for all of my guests without having to have any additional rentals. On the day of the wedding, the staff did the setup and breakdown, they communicated with vendors about deliveries – I didn’t have to think about much at all besides having a wonderful day, which I did. I also hired the house caterer – she’s clearly familiar with the venue and the food was delicious. People are still raving about the food a few weeks after the wedding. I also recommend staying in the cottage attached to the museum if possible. It was a relaxing place to stay before the wedding and a great place to get ready. My husband and I stayed there the night of as well.
Overall, it was the perfect place for our wedding!
