Lee was the perfect photographer for our wedding! The upfront communication prior to the wedding to help plan out the day was great. The wedding day experience was also amazing. Lee was able to think of photo ideas based on our venue on the spot. We have had many guests tell us Lee's personality was very enjoyable and fun to be around. Lee even did a back flip during a spin the bottle and dance in the circle event when it landed on him! Lee provided over 800 photos, all of which are amazing. The quality and quantity of photos are beyond our expectations of wedding photos. The diverse set of photos that were taken is also great. Everything from all of the standard wedding photos to unique shots of guests and things at the venue are invaluable to us. We would recommend Lee to anyone looking for a wedding photographer (or photographer for anything else too). Lee was great and helped make our wedding day perfect!

Lee Speary was our wedding photographer and so much more. He truly has become part of our family over the years. He did beautiful engagement & wedding pictures for us followed by announcement pictures for our first baby, milestone pictures, and his one year pictures are going to be done by him in the coming weeks. Other than my husband, Lee was by far the best choice I made for my wedding. From the minute he came in the door – I accidentally told him to come over 8 hours before our wedding started and yet he came bright and early with NO complaints– he brought with him a kind, joyous, and celebratory energy that touched every person he talked to. Lee is a party in and of himself – he immediately had us all laughing while simultaneously looking more photogenic than we ever have in real life! Lee is hilarious, sweet, and fun, and truly made the day of everyone he interacted with, which is the absolute best praise for any wedding vendor. He also brought along Joe, who has a quiet kindness that made us all immediately love him as well. Joe was more soft-spoken than Lee but had a warmth to him that perfectly worked alongside Lee’s energy. What a great team! Lee and his team’s personality alone is more than enough reason to hire them, but the photography – WOW. Some of these photos literally made us gasp when we saw them (and we were there!!). The colors, the brightness, the framing – everything is so beautiful, and they just truly captured the love and happiness we felt that day. Some photographers are clearly more comfortable in just one aspect of weddings – the people or the scenery or the food- but every picture Lee and his team took was such high-quality, beautiful art. There is a creativity and uniqueness in their photos that are truly an extension of their creative and unique personalities. They are some of the most breathtaking wedding photos I have ever seen, and I can’t believe they are mine! We missed Lee in the days after our wedding. We immediately felt he was one of our friends, and felt a little betrayed when we re-read his reviews and realized everyone he photographs feels this way! Lee and his team were one of the very best parts of our wedding and I wish we could rate them higher than a perfect score, because they went so above and beyond what their jobs required to make our day perfect.

Lee is absolutely amazing! He captured all of our special moments for all 3 of our wedding events, including 2 ceremonies (Indian and Western) on our wedding day. We never felt staged or posed as he captured so many wonderful moments so naturally. And any photos where he did have us pose, still felt natural and came out absolutely gorgeous! We cannot say enough wonderful words to explain how amazing Lee truly is with his work. He not only captured moments throughout our wedding day and events that we may have otherwise missed, but it all came together to relive those special moments again. Lee Speary is a fantastic photographer. He is beyond creative, thinking outside the box, and has great people skills. he can manage folks into photo setups with ease, and is patient. I highly recommend his work, and enjoyed working with him.

Lee was incredible to work with. He was so energetic all day and kept everyone organized and the wedding on schedule. He really understood the tone we were looking for with our photos. I was stunned when I received the edits. He went above and beyond expectations. His assistant was also amazing. While Lee was with us ladies, his assistant was with the men. He got great shots of the guys and now I feel like I was there with them. I cannot recommend Lee and his team enough. They are all incredible and professional.

All I can say is WOW! Lee exceeded all of our expectations and went above and beyond. We looked at so many photographers before booking Lee. Many of them were lackluster with the usual wedding photos that you see in every wedding post, but Lee was different! He is an artist. His photos are paintings, and look like works of art. My daughter was intent on getting great sunset and mood photos and once we saw Lee’s photos we knew he was our guy! The best part was his Amazing attitude! He became part photographer and part therapist the week before the wedding. We had so many restrictions at my daughter’s wedding due to the high rate of covid, and we had already lost 2 vendors the week of the wedding since they were ill. Needless to say we were panicking that he might be next. He assured us that he would take all precautions pre-wedding to make sure that he was healthy and present. Once he arrived he became one of the family. He was so much fun and energetic, that the guests loved him as well. We called him the ninja since he was EVERYWHERE but without being intrusive. He literally became one of the highlights of the wedding. It was a weekend wedding so he worked very hard but never lost his energy or patience. Lee remembered everything we told him about what we wanted, and didn’t want in the photos. We just received the photos and all I can say is he captured the “essence” of the entire weekend! His photos are magical! Don’t wait… on the off chance that you’re lucky enough that he’s available… book him! It will be the best decision you make for your wedding, other then choosing the right spouse. ;)

Lee is in a class all his own. My wife is camera shy so being in the spotlight was not something she was looking forward to on our wedding day but Lee was so warm and friendly and had a way of putting everyone at ease right away. There are no words, only warm fuzzy feels and amazing vibes to explain how beautifully Lee and Michelle captured our wedding. We were looking for someone out of the box who would go out of their way to capture a different wedding photo perspective, and Lee did just that! From the very beginning, he was so wonderful in chatting over the phone to get to know us as a couple and our wedding vision. He and Michelle showed up day of and captured every single moment, and made them all picture frame worthy. He was able to capture your obligatory wedding photos as well as the most precious and unscripted moments. As fast as our wedding day went, it was hard to remember the little things, but Lee froze them all in time for us to have forever. They made posing feel natural and always had amazing conversation to make you feel most comfortable. The hard part now will be numbering down the amount of favorites we have to create an album of our own. No one could have done this better for our special vision. Lee was an absolute blast to have. We had two locations for him to travel back and forth from wedding day and he made everything as easy as possible for us. Lee and Joe were wonderful. After needing to reschedule from our 2020 wedding, Lee made sure to communicate clearly regarding his availability and was sure to make our day special. When we were getting ready, both he and Joe were so welcomed into the group with their fun personalities. It really gave us the opportunity to truly be ourselves and enjoy the big day. They were both early and made sure to confirm everything ahead of time. THESE PHOTOS: Wow! We didn't know any photographers so we went off of some reviews we saw here at The Knot. So glad we did. Lee (and Joe) had such an amazing way of finding beauty in everything. The simplest pictures to the most complex. He took requests for whatever we wanted to see and no ask was out of reach. His editing was wonderful with a mix of natural, black and white, enhanced, and cleaned up photos to make each one worth the display. He gave us our portfolio of 1,000 pictures a little over a month after our wedding. We were so delighted to share them with our friends and family. If you want your day to be captured from start to finish, including the little moments, big moments, and the ones in between, I would check to see if Lee is available!

Lee is the best! His photos are timeless with special effects, regular color and black and white. He truly loves what he does! He likes to converse with his clients and listens to their needs for what they want in their photos. Would highly recommend Lee Speary for any photo occasion. Lee is definitely not afraid to get a little dirty and a little uncomfortable to get the best shot he can! We reached out to Lee after a recommendation from a friend who said "we would not be disappointed!" After a brief phone conversation with Lee we decided to book him for our wedding and go ahead with our engagement shoot a few months later. In the sweltering heat of July 2020 smack dab in the middle of Covid, we had an absolutely wonderful photo session at NYS Empire Plaza. His work turn out impeccable even though we were all sweaty messes. Lee was super engaging, very conversational and he knew his cult classic one liners and Dr. Who references which my now husband appreciated! At our wedding he had an assistant named Joe who was just as wonderful to work with as Lee, they both made our photo sessions effortless and he got the littles to stay still and say "squeezeeeeeee" instead of "cheese!" We got beautiful photos under the star filled night sky that we cannot wait to see when the edits are done! We whole heartedly recommend Lee for any wedding photography that you may need.

Lee helped make our dreams come true by catching all of the unbelievable shots we hoped to receive. A plunge into a waterfall with 17 friends is no easy exposure to catch, but I have that memory forever in print and am so grateful. He caught all of my ideas on film, plus extra endearing images I never imagined. We have stories and memories to last a lifetime and beyond! Lee was easy going and traveled 2 hours each direction to accommodate my needs as a customer. We had his service for 10 hours and he never showed signed of fatigue. Hire this guy!! He’s MacGyver behind a camera.

Lee was great photographer from the start and finish. This has been a crazy year with covid. He was extremely accommodating and made the wedding scheduling process a lot less stressful. Lee and his assistant Michelle were on very punctual, good energy, and knew what to capture. They made our day easy, and brought a new level of fun. Our pictures turned out amazing, getting all of those special shots, even ones I hadn't thought of. They had shots I couldnt imagen how they had got them, because they were so quite in the background in those special moments. All around beautiful, with a great eye. We loved them both.

Lee is hilarious and kind and absolutely loves what he does, and it shows. He is knowledgeable and quick to think on his feet when there are last minute changes. He has great ideas and his personality had my entire bridal party and our families cracking up. He is awesome!

We had to postpone our large wedding due to covid but still had a small backyard ceremony and reception on our original date. Lee was the most flexible, cooperative and helpful vendor through it all. Lee is an absolute gem. He came in with so much enthusiasm and you could really feel he was thrilled to be there and do what he does best. Lee was absolutely amazing! He beautifully captured our wedding! His portfolio speaks for itself in that regard! However, he still somehow surpassed our expectations! He took so many photos from our wedding that we would rate as stunning; we were expecting to only have a few “favorites” that maybe were at the caliber of his showcased work, but instead there were hundreds of photos we loved. Although we knew he was good from his portfolio, the consistency in shot composition, color balance, editing, attention to detail, and ability to capture the moment still completely floored us! The photos also really told a story, and we even felt like we learned new things when reviewing the photos the second time around. For example, I got to see my father’s expression after an emotional hug. It was a great experience. He also had a nice blend of candid and posed shots. Some of the shots had more natural lighting, and some looked more enhanced to create a particular look that fit the mood of the picture. This mixture was great. And with over 900 photos for our intimate wedding, the variety was incredible! He was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. He has a passion for photography that comes through with his energetic and enthusiastic spirit. All the guests liked him. When I was nervous, his words and jokes helped put me at ease. He was constantly inspired by his surroundings, which evoked many creative ideas. He also listened and tried to incorporate our ideas. In conclusion, we could not have chosen a better photography! Lee really helped make our wedding day on 6/15/2019 special with his sense of humor and zest for life! I saw his work from my husband's brother's wedding and said, "I really like their photos, I want their photographer." He was so much fun to have shoot us in NYC for our engagement photos, and in NJ for our wedding. He resides in upstate NY and was willing to travel for us, staying committed to our requested date. Lee not only delivers beautiful photos, but effectively communicates via: phone, email, text message, you name it. Lee worked around our busy schedule and did our first look photo shoot in addition to the ceremony and venue photos. Lee was our wedding photographer for our wedding at the Ithaca Farmer's Market. He came early to set up and get familiar with our venue and even had 2 cameras on him the entire night. He brought our vision to life and knew exactly where to put us and our wedding party to capture the perfect photos. He took portraits and planned our first look and then spent the rest of the night getting candids. He even took one of his shirts off so that I could sit on it without getting my dress dirty for our outdoor photos! He was very funny and kept us laughing then entire time and got around to every table to capture all of our guests. He took beautiful outdoor pictures and photographed the twinkling hanging lights at our venue perfectly. You cannot ask for a better photographer!

Lee Speary photography is anything but traditional, they are fun, unique, and super creative. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with both Lee and Michelle and we couldn't be happier to have had the opportunity. These guys are truly fabulous. One of my best friends referred us to Lee after he did their wedding. Lee and Michelle are the dynamic duo and they did not disappoint! They make you feel comfortable amd relaxed all while laughing and joking. His work and personality was a perfect fit for my husband and I. We had him do multiple engagement shoots, our rehearsal dinner and the wedding and I am in love with all pf our pictures. He has a natural eye for what will look good and is creative when it comes to photo ideas. We really let him do whatever he wanted he just had to tell where to stand and what to do. His turn around time for the wedding pictures was not even 3 weeks. I cant say enough about him and his work. I highly highly recommend him!!!

Lee and Michelle provided everything they offered and more. They showed up early (but not too early) and took tons of photos without being intrusive. They had great senses of humor and were able to make people laugh when some of the posed photos seemed uncomfortable. Lee was really able to capture the personalities of our friends and family through each photo he took. He really liked that we looked through his photos before and had input on styles and poses that we liked (lenses, color editing, etc.) So that he could match our taste. Things ran a bit late and they stayed until the very end to capture everything. The turn around time for over 1200 photos was extremely quick, and we were able to relive our wedding day :)

Lee was on time, he made sure to get so many pictures of my daughter getting ready for the wedding and had a wonderful second photographer there to get pictures of the groom and groomsman getting ready also. He made sure my daughter got the pictures she wanted taken and then took so many candid shots on top of that. We received a wonderful collection of photos that showcased the whole day - start to finish. Plus he was just a pleasure to work with, always had a smile and just made the day even more special. We are so pleased with his photos.

I had heard of Lee Speary photography on Facebook and from other photographers. I looked up his website after researching other photographers' and I knew that instant I had to ask him to photograph our special day. As a photographer, myself, I know what to look for as far as portfolio, lighting and artistry. He fit that bill on so many levels. Lee was so fun to work with! My husband and I were married on 9-4-16 and it was the best day. Lee showed up on time (even a little early) and was so energetic and ready for the day. He made everything fun and had great ideas. I just let him do his thing! We met Lee and Michele at a expo in Corning and knew immediately that he was the guy for our wedding. I've been in many weddings and experienced a variety of different wedding photographers as a result. I knew I did not want some big company that was just going to cut and paste my wedding into the same poses as every other wedding. At a bridal expo we found Lee and Michelle and instantly bonded. I can honestly say working with Lee and Michelle was not just delightful but it was the only thing I wasn't freaking out about on my wedding day. They went way above and beyond anything I've ever encountered and as a result they now do pictures for everything that happens in our life. They are so fun and unique and easy to work with. Lee Speary and his partner, Michelle, did an absolutely fantastic job at our wedding. We were married at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on 7/11/15, but we live in California so it was exceptionally hard to find a photographer. I truly feel like it was meant to be with Lee and Michelle . They were really easy to work with and were consistently professional before, during, and after the wedding. Their prices were very reasonable and absolutely worth it. And the photographs are beautiful. They are true artists and we have received so many compliments. Highly recommended!

We ended up with Lee through our booking with David's Bridal Photography..they couldn't of chose a better fit for myself and my hubby. Lee was great...so full of energy and really knew how to us smiling and entertained..and to boot, took some great photos!Just wish we would have booked him directly and not through a 3rd party.
