About this vendor
Your wedding should sound like you.
Since 2014, the Left Coast Quintet has been creating memorable live soundtracks for weddings throughout San Diego and Southern California. We’re a professional wind quintet featuring flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon, offering couples something elegant, colorful, fun, and refreshingly different for their celebration. Our smaller Left Coast Trio is also available for more intimate weddings and events.
From the moment your guests begin arriving, live music helps set the atmosphere for everything that follows. We can perform welcoming prelude music, accompany your wedding party and processionals, provide music for special moments during the ceremony, celebrate your recessional, and keep the music going into cocktail hour.
And this definitely doesn’t have to mean an afternoon of nothing but Mozart!
Our ever-growing library includes hundreds of arrangements covering classical music, jazz, Broadway, pop and rock, Disney and Pixar, movie and television soundtracks, video games, bossa nova, Americana, and plenty of unexpected favorites. We can move from Beethoven and Debussy to Taylor Swift, ABBA, Marvel, Wicked, or a favorite movie theme without missing a beat.
Some couples come to us knowing exactly what they want. Others tell us, “We have no idea, but we want it to be fun.” We love both.
We’ll work with you to choose music that fits your personalities and the atmosphere you want to create. If there’s a particular song, movie, game, artist, or piece of music that means something to you, tell us about it. Special requests are one of our favorite parts of creating a wedding program.
Over the years, LCQ has performed at beaches, gardens, resorts, wineries, historic estates, rooftops, ballrooms, parks, and wedding venues throughout Southern California. Our acoustic setup gives us tremendous flexibility while creating a warm, vibrant sound that carries beautifully through both indoor and outdoor spaces.
Most importantly, we want your experience with us to be easy. We’ll help with musical selections, coordinate timing and cues, communicate with your planner or venue when needed, and take care of the details so that when your wedding day arrives, you can simply enjoy it.
Classy can still be fun. Elegant can still be personal. And your wedding music can be something your guests genuinely remember.
We’d love to hear what you’re planning and help bring your wedding soundtrack to life!

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with the Left Coast Quintet! They perfectly crafted a playlist for our wedding and cocktail hour that felt completely tailored to us ...
and the atmosphere we wanted to create. Every song was spot-on, and our guests were so entertained by the music throughout the celebration.
Beyond being incredibly talented, they were such an easy vendor to work with—professional, responsive, and completely understanding of our vision. They absolutely knocked it out of the park and added such a special, memorable touch to our wedding. We can’t recommend the Left Coast Quintet enough!

e group didn’t already have them in their repertoire. The music they played was great and sounded incredible at our outdoor venue. So many people came up to us and said what a unique touch and special thing it was to have them play during our ceremony and cocktail hour. I cannot recommend this group enough!

e and going above and beyond to learn and play a wind acoustic version of my dream bridal entrance song. LCQ was an integral part in making our wedding day everything I dreamed it would be and more: the ceremony music was beautiful, timeless and unforgettable. Thank you so much for curating the perfect songs and most importantly, for making my very particular request for the “Lana Del Rey - Young and Beautiful” song (the DREAM bridal entrance song) into a reality. It was perfect. Thank you so much for being a part of our ceremony!

We hired Dan and the Left Coast Quintet for our wedding at the Safari Park and we're so happy we did. We hired them for welcome music, procession, recession, and a brief 15 minute ...
cocktail hour.
Working with Dan was great - he's super friendly and great at reminding us of deadlines. Choosing our songlist was challenging - especially because the quintet sends over this giant spreadsheet with hundreds of songs that they are able to play.. but luckily they knew the songs to match our general vibe. For the welcome music and cocktail hour, we were looking for broadway/Disney music with special emphasis on musicals/movies that we love. We had specific song requests for the processional and recessional. The Left Coast Quintet handled everything perfectly - they nailed our welcome/cocktail music (and we got so many compliments from guests). We were too busy taking photos to really enjoy it, but I'm pretty sure our best photos were when the quintet played Defying Gravity. The quintet also seamlessly looped Concerning Hobbits during our longer than expected processional which I really appreciated.
It's a bit awkward because we never actually talked to the quintet.. they just sort of appeared before our processional and left after our cocktail hour.. Regardless, they did an awesome job and I'm super happy we hired them. Thank you for making our wedding great.
I cannot say enough good things about Dan and the team at Left Coast Quintet! The entire experience of working with them was so professional and organized.

the music and it made our ceremony so special. The group at Left Coast Quintet are wonderful musicians and their music adds such a unique touch to any wedding. They went out of their way to make our ceremony special; our officiant is a singer and they coordinated with him on an arrangement of a song for our ceremony. Highly recommend booking them for your wedding!

know how to communicate with wedding planners, venues, officiants, and other pros to make sure everything transitions well during the wedding day. The music is also amazing, and getting to choose Elvis, Simon & Garfunkel, the Beatles, and some other music that I loved growing up was really special.

ely convinced this was the way to go. The way they sculpted the mood while my family arrived, and then performed beautiful custom arrangements of our favorite music, was so special. This team of musicians really are the best out there, beyond the music, they are so professional, friendly, and really care about you. Outside of my wedding planner, LCQ was the most reliable, communicative, and consistent person I dealt with.

professional, supremely talented, and easy to work with.
We hired LCQ to perform for the wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour of the reception. Their list of music was impressive and included both traditional songs and whimsical choices. For us Disney/jazz fans, the options allowed us to choose unique pieces to fit our personal style. It was beautiful to see our guests (including the children) recognize Rainbow Connection, Edelweiss, We Don’t Talk About Bruno, etc. Our only regret we have is not hiring them to perform for the entire reception!
We would unequivocally recommend them to anyone who is looking for live music for any event.
The Left Coast Quintet was the perfect choice for our wedding ceremony. Wanting to do something different than the average wedding ceremony, we were inspired by Prokofiev's "Peter ...
and the Wolf" that pairs short musical movements with a narrated story. The group's main contact, Dan, was enthusiastic about the idea and graciously spent hours with us over the phone to help us perfectly pair musical selections to each segment of our ceremony from their extremely vast song list across all different genres. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out and continue to receive rave reviews from our guests!

fun, but classy atmosphere for our guests. They were early, handled all the communication with the venue once they had the contact info, making it seriously less stressful for myself, and really put effort into helping us have the ceremony music we truly wanted. ought it'd be fun to find a group that incorporated both. Even though this particular grouping wasn't listed on their website, Dan said having a harp/cello/violin trio wouldn't be an issue! Dan was so easy to work with to arrange all the details. After he provided us some samples of songs, we gave him a few specific requests and asked him to fill in the rest of the time with appropriate music that went with the vibe. Having the live musicians was so great, and really set the atmosphere we were looking for. I'd highly recommend this group for any event!
