Legacy Union Photo Co

and went above and beyond. We got SO many compliments on both sets of photos, with so many people saying "wow you had a great photographer!" Matthew caught amazing pictures of us, all of our guests, and all the details of our wedding! His turnaround time for engagement photos, wedding sneak peak, and wedding album was also super impressive. Such an easy and great choice choosing legacy union for our wedding!

y and made the process feel like magic! Our wedding was captured beautifully and couldn’t have pictured it any other way!! If you're looking for a photographer? Let this be your sign! He’s it!

but personally we can really speak to his professionalism, the clear intent and time he puts into his work, and the meeting we had with him getting to know him and consider his work for our wedding. He was at the top of our list and we would recommend anyone check him out and meet with him. We really hope to work with him in the future! 5/5

was organized, timely, and professional. The cocktail hour was shot by his second shooter and our guests RAVED about her! I wish I had more words to describe the experience we had working with Matthew! He is open to adjusting your package if needed (which we did) as well as so helpful with consulting on the wedding timeline, shot lists, etc. We did not go with videography but we’re nearly kicking purselves over it because we can tell it would have been perfection!

family absolutely loved our photos as did we.

ry special moment, and created a beautiful, emotional, and cinematic wedding video that we will cherish forever. Their attention to detail and editing skills were outstanding. Thank you, Legacy Union for preserving our memories so beautifully!

s. The day of our wedding was 90F+, but that did not deter Matt one bit, he is extremely hardworking and efficient, we were amazed at what he was able to cover as a solo photographer for our wedding of 150. As for the photos, WOW!! they were beaaauuutiful! We are noramlly not good photo posers, but somehow we look relaxed and great in every shot ;) We are going to have so much trouble choosing which ones to print. Thank you Matt for giving us photos to cherish for life! Highly recommend.

the shoot, he was so efficient in getting us many shots (including ones that I had requested) and he returned the photos to us in less than a week. My friends and family loved the photos and we would definitely recommend having him for wedding/engagement shoots!

dible attention to detail ensured that our wedding day was not only beautifully documented but an extraordinary visual masterpiece that we will cherish forever. He took the time to understand our vision for the wedding. He went above and beyond to get to know us as a couple, taking the time to understand our story, our personalities, and our unique connection. If you are planning a wedding and want to ensure that every cherished moment is captured flawlessly, Matthew is the videographer you need. We can’t thank him enough for his incredible work, turning our wedding day into an everlasting work of art. Matthew, you truly are a master of your craft, and we are forever grateful for the memories you've preserved so beautifully. Highly recommend and definitely one of the best decisions we’ve made was to have legacy union capture our special day!

or the day of our shoot. He gives you a few location options for your session, we chose ours to be Pasadena City Hall. Day of, he was on time and ready. Friendly and professional all the way, he took us to prime picturesque spots and had us try a variety of poses and moments. Many were his suggestion but he was open to our ideas too. He did not waste a moment of time and was always ready with his gear and suggestions. We got a lot of photos and it went by quicker than we thought. When Matthew sent us the link with the select photos that he expertly touched up, we were very happy with the results. We sent many to friends and family and also posted a few on our wedding website. I cannot recommend Legacy Union Photo Co and Matthew enough for your engagement photos. We felt we were in good hands and the pictures proved it to be true.

made our photoshoot experience so memorable and fun. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer. The photos were ready earlier than expected and they are amazing! I highly recommend Matt, he is such a nice guy and makes you feel comfortable and was great at giving my partner direction on posing. This was my Fiancés and I's first time doing any photoshoot together and I just can't stop raving about how our experience was so great! I wish I could put 100 STARS!!

have fun with it!

nd going to a nearby park which created a beautiful setting for our session. Mathew delivered the pictures to us surprisingly quickly and photograph after photograph, surpassed our expectations. Everyone we have shared them with, comments on how beautiful and aesthetic it all looks, like taken out of a fairy tale. Most of all, to us, they captured the love and emotion felt that day. Could not recommend them enough!

sure to make us feel prioritized, taken care of and special throughout the entire day/night. I don’t know if we would have even thought of asking to take extra pictures of just the two of us during the reception. Luckily, Matthew kindly asked if we wanted to go back outside and shoot some more photos, where he and the videographer captured some incredible moments, during golden hour and then again during blue hour. We were beyond blown away and happy with our photos and videos.

res are as though he was right there the whole time.

s . Would definitely recommend! And if I have another occasion I will definitely book again too as the price is really fair!

sonality. On the wedding day he was punctual and really delivered on what we wanted, which was rich colors and lots of photos of our guests. I wholeheartedly recommend!

d helpful. We highly recommend Legacy Union to anyone who is planning a wedding.

nd my wildest dreams. We will treasure our wedding photos forever!!

iscing over our wedding, we keep saying how on EARTH did he get this pic? Matthew was so kind and flexible and understanding of all of our needs, wants and requests. The day our wedding finally came, Matthew’s professionalism and energy came through and helped everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. But honestly, he’s a ninja who also completely disappears into the background, getting pictures from angles and vantage points that were tasteful, creative, candid, endearing, we just can’t believe it. We would truly recommend Matthew. His use of lighting and his overall, command over the camera resulted in the most gorgeous photos. We are already finding ourselves planning baby showers, vow renewals, elaborate birthday parties, anything where we could have an excuse to hire him again. We will always treasure this day and our photos. Thank you Matthew for being a huge part of that!

better experience, or better pictures! In addition to that, prior to the wedding he was very kind and flexible: our wedding was happening during Covid and we had to reschedule twice. He made it very easy for us to pick another date, and even gave us a list of alternative suggestions since our wedding venue went bankrupt. All in all, we would recommend Matthew 150%!

ting! Matthew and his team definitely provided a very stress-free, high-quality experience. I will admit that I was a bit nervous since we chose his company based on his amazing work and others' reviews , but my new husband and I have no regrets at all. The photos he captured and video created exceeded our expectations. We are so happy with Legacy Union Photo Co, and will definitely be inquiring about a family portrait session in the near future!

continuously receive compliments on our engagement and wedding videos. Even though there were many changes regarding our wedding due to the pandemic, Matthew coordinated with Leo and I and truly helped me make my backyard wedding a successful one. We had met several times discussing the details and those were super helpful. Honestly, the wedding was eventually becoming stressful as it got closer but knowing I have a great videographer by my side definitely provided sense of comfort and peace. If you’re looking for someone reliable, professional, relatable, and artistic, I highly recommend Legacy Union!!!! I will recommend him to my friends & families any day with no hesitation. In fact, my husband and I love his work so much that we are currently working with him on another project. Thank you Matthew for your hard-work and dedication!

and we really appreciated that! Matthew was friendly and made us both feel super comfortable in front of the camera - we'd never had any "real" photos taken together and I wasn't sure if we'd look or feel uncomfortable, but Matthew made it super easy and made us feel like models! We had a more casual outfit for the engagement photos and then fancier clothes that we were going to wear for our Zoom wedding a couple weeks later (thanks COVID!) and he treated the photos we took in the fancy clothes like the wedding photos we weren't going to be able to have for that day - I couldn't have been happier! When we got the link to our photos, we were completely blown away! For a session that was less than 2 hours, he provided us with great variety and edits on over 300 (!!) photos.. I couldn't believe it - and delivered only 2 weeks after our shoot. The only negative is that I don't know how to choose from all the amazing shots... I guess my walls will just be covered in all of them :-) His gallery portal was super user friendly and easy to share and download. I highly recommend Matthew and so appreciate him helping us turn a weird situation with our engagement/wedding and the potential for it not feeling very special, into a day that was amazing and photos that I am excited to share with family and friends and will truly be family heirlooms. Thank you again Matthew!!

e and I immediately felt comfortable with him during our engagement shoot—Matthew had a way of making us smile and laugh whenever we got too serious or in our heads. Obviously, the wedding to come would not turn out the way either party expected. COVID changed everything, but Matthew not only understood, he made it even more special by partnering with a videographer to make up for the lost hours and time of our original ceremony. The incredible result helped us show ourselves off to the friends and family that couldn’t be there. It made me cry, made my wife cry, and our parents cry, and I’m tempted to submit it for the Oscars. My wife and I got married with Matthew, his videographer Kaleb, and only four other people in attendance, two of whom were vendors. That we don’t have any regrets about it, and that it felt like we had the wedding of our dreams anyway is in part due to the work Legacy Union put into the photos and video of the event. Matthew did not treat us like clients, but as friends, and that’s exactly what we needed in 2020. We’re so grateful to have found him.

ts during our destination wedding. He went above and beyond on our wedding day to capture incredible images. Matt made sure he was in every single place before people arrived, during and after even when we didn't request him to! Our wedding day included a tea ceremony as well as a western style ceremony, a reception, traditional games and a party not to mention I had 4 outfit changes! He was on time, dressed the part and at every single place. It was so much more than what we ever asked and expected him to do! Going through his pictures allowed us to relive that special day and look back at all the amazing memories we made. It was incredible to see how so many emotions were captured in his images; as if he connected with us and guided us allowing us to be comfortable being ourselves and all the emotions we went through during our special day. There were also so many candid moments he captured we weren't even aware of and it was so nice to be able to look through them! He literally made us and our guests smile from ear to ear. One can tell Matt is highly experienced with photography because we had no idea how to even organize family and friends to make sure we got pictures with everyone. THANK GOODNESS for his guidance and planning for our photo session, he helped calm my stress level and facilitated so many things. Not only is he kind, he is wonderful and patient with kids and great at making kids, toddlers, babies smile and look at the camera. His services after the wedding such as touching up on images and making sure my husband and I were 110% satisfied with his work were beyond what we had expected. Matt always had a positive attitude and was constantly communicating with us. Needless to say, Matthew is an incredible professional and has a gift with what he dedicates himself to! We are so lucky he agreed to photograph us at our destination wedding. We would highly recommend his services any day!

u to get the most flattering photograph and very smart when it comes to capturing moments. He responds quickly when you have any questions or concerns, and he did a wonderful job with the editing and I received the photos in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend. By luck I came across him online for our engagement shoot and we will be turning to Matthew for all of our future photography.

lot of candid moments. I really appreciated that Matthew scouted spots near where I was getting married for photos and he ended up finding a spot that was EXACTLY was I was thinking! They got us out photos super quick and even sent us a great amount of sneak peaks! I 100% highly recommend Matthew and his team!

e magazine covers! We will always treasure the photos and the fun we had during the process!

important day. Well-oiled system with photos delivered via a web folder promptly! Would recommend Matthew in a heartbeat for any type of photography. Food shots, business interiors, wedding, engagement, lifestyle- you name it. He is good at giving direction, too. He is level-headed which is great for all you crazy bridezillas out there lol! Most importantly though, he takes great pictures.

e end of the reception with patience and poise. I was honestly a little overwhelmed by the responsibilities of the day and worrying if people were having a good time, I'm glad that one thing I didn't have to worry about was the photography. From walking through the day in Skype calls and email correspondence, everything was thought out and well organized. Matt knew how to bring out our best and was efficient about directing us as a couple and with our wedding party! Getting the photos was super quick and seamless with the online gallery and flash drive in the mail. There are so many good moments from throughout the entire day! We're really happy with how our photos turned out and we're already a little sad that we'll probably never look as good as we do in those photos! We highly recommend Matthew to anyone getting married!

early to the site and came prepared to the shoot with many ideas and already several locations in mind. We’re not use to taking professional photos but he was very patient with us and made us feel comfortable by providing specific directions when we didn’t know how to pose. Matthew also made the follow-ups very easy. He always responded within 1 business day, and he posted our pictures with a quick turnaround which included great edits! Additionally, the site he used for viewing the photos loaded pretty fast (which is important when you’re choosing from a lot of shots) and was very user friendly. From start to finish, he was such a pleasure to work with and we wholeheartedly recommend him.

ed, started mingling, and getting ready before I said anything to him at all. It was SO nice because your wedding day can feel kind of stressful and chaotic, but this photographer was there capturing every moment without me having to ask or direct him at all. After we received our pictures, It was like opening a whole new wedding gift to see all of the precious moments he had captured during the wedding that I didn't even know about!! - Like my little flower girl receiving a backstage "cheek kiss" from the ring bearer, and members of my family laughing and enjoying each other's company before the service started. There were several funny, memorable moments during both the service and the reception that he captured in detail and I will always treasure those amazing candid photographs! In fact, all of his photographs were gorgeous and the editing was superb (the photos of my in my dress on our college campus looked so dramatic and beautiful), but one of my favorite parts of his photography is the way he captured the candid moments at our wedding. He never stopped shooting throughout the entire reception, and the precious moments that he captured of my parents and grandparents dancing, my friends, my husband and I doing goofy dance moves, and all of my family and friends enjoying a rare time of being in the same place on the same day is something I'll never be able to thank him enough for. My girlfriends who got married around the same time as me were all jealous of the amazing photographer that I had, and wished that they had asked him to take their photos as well! Thank you, Legacy Union!

o capture both gorgeous, thoughtful posed shots and authentic, joyful, unplanned moments. Matthew has always been encouraging of my off-the-wall ideas. We’ve done sessions with him on mountain hikes, at the local zoo, at home, and at the beach in the water. He’s always up for an adventure. During the shoot, Matthew is efficient and directive, making sure that all of the details are perfect. He captures not only the romantic portraits, but also the intimate personal elements and sweeping panoramic settings. My favorite photos, though, are always of moments in which I didn’t realize I was being photographed. Matthew can you comfortable enough to forget he’s working and simply let you be present. We’re so grateful to have Matthew to chronicle our changing family.

g through portfolios we began to understand there were a lot of photographers to choose from. Once we found Legacy Union and Matthew’s talent for photography we found ourselves continually coming back to his photos. The consistent quality of his work and how he presented it instilled in us his ability to capture our wedding. From our first meeting we began to understand his experience, professionalism, and down-to-earth nature. Through our continued interactions we really felt that he got to know us as a couple and the style of pictures we were wanting. Matthew’s experience was essential in navigating the photography portion of our wedding day. Throughout the entire day, Matthew made us feel comfortable and relaxed. He was great at organizing our large group and keeping to our time sensitive schedule. We also appreciated Mathew’s thoughtfulness by allowing us to enjoy the special moments together. We could not have been happier with the quality of our wedding photos. Every photo shows his natural creativity and passion for photography. The care Matthew put in to every detail will help us share the moments and emotions for years to come. If we were to do it all over again, we would 100% hire Legacy Union and Matthew again. We look forward to using Legacy Union for our future photography needs.

s kind, meticulous, creative, and makes taking pictures feel natural. So many of the wedding photos I’d seen when searching for a photographer looked rigid and staged, but Matthew’s photos are the exact opposite. I was drawn to his pictures for the candid, genuine expressions he captures. His photos are so natural and they seem to be a direct extension of his personality—he is a great person both personally and professionally. He genuinely connects with people and it clearly reflects through his work. He went above and beyond to make sure things went smoothly the day of our wedding and ensured that we got all of the photos we wanted from every stage of the wedding process. Our family and friends are beyond impressed by our wedding photos. We were all astounded by the number of pictures Matthew returned to us and the quality of each and every one of them. We have the most beautiful photos from the rehearsal, to the ceremony, and even late into the night. He captured everything that was special to us and he is so thoughtful. I know that over the years my nostalgia will grow as I am able to look back and remember things like my parents home, and all of our guests, just as they were that day. Matthew’s attention to detail and ability to capture the most beautiful moments are unmatched. My husband and I absolutely love our wedding photos. Thanks to Matthew, we will forever be able to relive one of the greatest days of our life because of his amazing photos. They are classic, timeless, and exactly the kind of photos we hoped to have to remember our wedding day. Matthew’s travel fee is very reasonable and you will not find a kinder, more talented photographer! We wish him nothing but the best and would without a doubt recommend him to everyone! Best decision we made for our wedding planning—Matthew is an exceptional talent.

t of work into every photograph- and it shows. Bridal/wedding photos are something that will be kept forever for me and so out of all the wedding decisions, I am happy that I got the best of the best in the photography arena. If you are looking for top notch photos from a stand up guy, this is it

and the photos were stunning. Having been comfortably behind the lens myself, I wasn't looking forward to being the center of attention or posing for any super awkward or fake photos. But with Matthew Smith around, my husband and I fully enjoyed the whole day and can relive those precious moments thanks to Matt's talent. Matt was flexible, ready for everything that came our way (it's Asia, hardly anything goes as planned!), and incredibly professional and respectful. I, of course, felt nervous on my big day, but Matt's calming and gracious presence capturing each stage as the day unfolded was a gift that helped me fully relax on a day that gets many women stressed. The quality of his photos in the end was priceless, and I highly recommend this photographer who is committed to genuinely capturing your special day.

r the lifetime memories we have now through his photography. We would recommend him to anyone who wants amazing pictures and someone who is very easy to work with and lets the work do the talking.

years since those photos and they're still hanging in our house (we've since moved four times!). One of Matthew's photos is always the FIRST one that gets put up when we move. We just wish we lived closer so he could take new ones for us! Matthew is professional, flexible, easy to get ahold of, and dang good. Book him and you'll be SO glad!
