When I reached out to see if she'd be interested in shooting our hastily thrown together elopement last summer, her enthusiasm and excitement were contagious for this tired COVID bride and helped me get excited about of elopement. When we finally had a wedding celebration this spring, she and Shane were amazing to work with. She planned out the shot list prior to the wedding to make sure we captured all the photos we wanted. They were both kind and helpful to our family and friends at our event. Our photos did not disappoint and were amazing. Throughout this process Leia's communication, organization, and compassion took so much weight off my shoulders in what was already a very stressful situation. I cannot thank her and Shane enough and would recommend them to any couple planning to get married or needing any photography needs.

The engagement pictures were amazing, capturing their love for each other while being time sensitive to my son-in-law who was regaining his strength from being sick. Leia did an even more wonderful job on the day of the wedding. She not only made taking pictures easy but fun and captivated every special moment there was! They are relaxed and patient as you rally your bridal party and family for pictures. One of my favorite things is that they capture EVERY SINGLE MOMENT. I feel no detail was missed and I can go back through the photos later on and remember my wedding clearly. We also had a photo booth and our guests and us had a blast with it! r work really struck me, so it was very easy to make a decision about who I wanted there on my wedding day capturing every moment. Even though I didn't meet Leia until the day of, I felt like I had already known her for years. We talked on the phone, and she made me very comfortable with her process. She was quick to respond to emails and texts, and that made me feel like I could really count on her. Leia made me feel like we were instant friends. I knew we had made the right choice in choosing her for our photography. As promised, she took beautiful photos, plenty of just my husband and I, and plenty of everything happening that day. She really helped keep the day on track, and ended up helping us more than our planner. By the end of the night, I had a really good feeling from her that our day was represented quite well. 2 weeks later we received our gallery and wow, I couldn't be more surprised! She was fast at getting us beautiful images, and she had captured things I never even knew happened- the images were beautiful! We also knew that we would want two photographers so we could not only have my side captured but, for his side to be captured too. At one point my now husband and I sat down to discuss the issue of maybe having unrealistic expectations. So we narrowed our expectation list and found that even in doing that, we still we needed to find a photographer. So, we began going over our notes and comparing what we already had along with some google searching. While searching the web we came across Leia Smethurst photography after looking at her site and reading a bit about her we decided to go ahead and inquire about packages and schedule a meeting .On the day we had our meeting we met at a local coffee shop and as we introduced ourselves, myself and my spouse both could feel that she was the one for us. On the way home we both looked at each other and said yes yes yes. We went home and went over all of our other photographers and came to the same conclusion that Leia Smethurst photography was in fact the one for us. She met our expectations and then some!
