I first came to Lesley two years ago when my hair color needed a lot of help and she was real with me that it would take a few appointments to be safe with lightening my almost black hair (I just wanted to be a little darker dirty blonde from the summer blonde I was previously...). She loves the science behind coloring hair and she takes the time to explain the rationales of what she is doing. It did take a few tries, plus I changed my mind a few times ;), but we finally found just the right hair color that we both love! And I continued to work with Lesley from there on out. So, when it came time to figuring out who would do my and the girls' hair for the wedding, it was a no brainer! While Lesley is great at coloring and styling hair, she also loves doing updos and is incredible at them, too! We did a hair trial on the same day as my wedding dress fitting, so that I could see the whole look together at once. (I also had my makeup trial then, too). This was Lesley's idea - a very good one! I had many pinned images on Pinterest and showed them to Lesley. I acutally had a board on my Pinterest and added her to it so she could start formulating an idea ahead of time. Honestly, I loved how it came out! But a couple weeks later I was second guessing it because it felt a little too formalish for my dress which was more on the rusticy simple side. And yikes, actually it was only a few weeks out from the wedding! I sent her a long message and she completely understood. She knew how important it was to like the way you look on your wedding day, so we put our schedules together and found an extra day to do a second hair trial. We nailed it. It was perfect. On the day of my wedding, I had so much fun getting ready with Lesley (she's become a good friend of ours over the years now!) and she did such wonderful work with my updo as well as my mother, and the bridesmaids! Everyone looked beautiful and they all loved their hair! You can tell when someone genuinely likes the way they look and I could see that all over my bridesmaids and my mother's faces. And believe me, I LOVED mine!! While Lesley is a friend of ours, and was a guest at our wedding too, both my husband and I HIGHLY recommend her!! She also cut my husband's hair the day before the wedding, on a day she normally doesn't work but made an exception for us. She's that kind and that good at her job. You won't be disappointed if you choose her, I promise. :)
