Though I am experienced in teaching a variety of social dances, I specialize in creating beautiful wedding dances for couples in Austin, TX and beyond via Zoom. With two decades of professional dancing and teaching experience, I’ve had the pleasure of guiding countless couples like you on their journey to that magical first dance. Vanessa was amazing to work with! My now husband and I are not big dancers, and realized 2 months before our wedding that it'd probably be a good idea to get some dance lessons for our first dance. And I'm so glad we did! We worked with Vanessa over the course of three lessons and ~6 weeks. She was SO prepared and we jumped right into learning the dance in our first lesson. She made each lesson SO fun - I was super nervous going into the first lesson but our time with Vanessa ended up being a big highlight for both of us in the wedding planning process. Vanessa works hard to make sure her couples are confident with the dance and are having fun. She is a joy to work with and she creates a non-judgmental, fun environment to learn dance moves that you can take with you beyond your wedding. Our first dance was a huge hit, and set the tone for the rest of the night - our guests all danced the night away. Thank you, Vanessa!!

Vanessa is a total delight to work with, and I am so grateful we found her to give us a series of 3 lessons for our first dance + 1 extra with our parents. As someone who is not very naturally coordinated, Vanessa and her gentle and encouraging way of teaching gave me a lot of confidence and she made things so easy for my elderly parents as well. Vanessa definitely has a knack for covering a lot of ground in each lesson but not so much that you feel overwhelmed, which I appreciated so much. I could also tell she reviewed our songs carefully before each lesson and came prepared with ideas. I really found myself looking forward to our lessons! In addition to being a great choreographer, she was wonderful at making suggestions on how we should position ourselves to get the best photos and recorded videos we could use to practice/show our photographer. I’d highly recommend her to anyone I know.

We worked with Vanessa for our first dance at our wedding. As beginner dancers we appreciated Vanessa’s structured way of teaching. We got step by step instruction and were able to continually improve over the weeks leading up to the wedding, which made us feel very confident on the wedding day! We also booked a lesson for her to teach our parent first dances and it was very helpful. Our parents enjoyed the lesson very much!

Vanessa was amazing to work with! My partner and I are definitely dance newbies, but she was such a wonderful teacher. In only three lessons, she choreographed and taught us our entire first dance. She was so nice and patient. She explained every move so we could understand it, demonstrated each step, and guided us. All her tips and tricks were extremely helpful. Plus, it was genuinely fun working with her! Even my partner, who was hesitant about dance lessons at first, said he had a great time with the lessons. We both feel comfortable and confident in our dancing thanks to her lessons. I highly recommend her if you want a first dance with a little more pizazz!! :)

I highly recommend Vanessa . We worked with her 4 sessions and she helped us picking the right song and designing our first dance. Me and my Fiance didnt have much experience with dancing and I was very nervous about our first dance. She made it so easy for us and went through every single little detail to design it perfectly for us and our personalities. Our wedding is in 2 weeks and I feel so confident and excited. We absolutely LOVED working with Vanessa! We did 3 lessons and were amazed at how much we accomplished! We are two non dancers but Vanessa was able to set us up perfect for our first dance along with giving us some basic dancing skills even after the wedding day. Taking lessons with Vanessa was one of the best ideas we have had while planning our wedding! She was able to get us in ASAP as our wedding is in 3 weeks. Vanessa did not waste a minute and in one short hour we felt confident. She listened to our song and came up with some simple fool-proof choreography. Vanessa is amazing! My now husband and I enjoy the two stepping but we knew we wanted something a little polished for our first dance. We did three lessons with Vanessa and it was so helpful. We didn’t want anything too choreographed so that we could still be in the moment, but also wanted to feel comfortable and confident in our dance and we did! Vanessa is so kind and helpful, she patiently explained and demonstrated dances to us and helped us achieve the exact dance we wanted. By the time out wedding came around, the dance was a breeze. Also, this was a welcome break from the other stressful parts of wedding planning. Highly recommend! Just remember to practice ;)

My fiancée and I had six lessons with Vanessa in the months leading up to our first dance at our wedding. We highly, highly recommend her. For background, we weren’t great dancers, never previously took lessons, and we were nervous about our first dance. Vanessa made the entire experience FUN, RELAXED, and POSITIVE from the first time we walked in. Vanessa prepared for the song before our first lesson and listened to what we wanted our dance to look like. She understood our skill level and wants and helped craft our first dance, giving us plenty of options to choose from. She gave us “homework” to work on during our practices at home between lessons, which was helpful. Vanessa was incredibly personable as well as professional. You can tell she cares. Additionally, she was more affordable vs. other options we looked at. We really enjoyed the experience and have recommended her to our other engaged friends. If you’re on the fence about it, give Vanessa a chance! You won’t regret it and you’ll have fun!

Vanessa helped us with our first dance for our wedding, and she was so amazing to work with! She is a fantastic teacher. Even though we are very novice dancers, in just three one-hour lessons she helped us learn several basic and a few more ‘fancy’ moves to incorporate into parts of our song. She always explained the basics in a way that made things easy to learn and build on. She really knows how to teach beginner dancers well. She also helped us with customizing our dance to our song, incorporating bigger moves at the bigger moments in the song. We loved working with her and plan to continue taking lessons with her to learn how to two-step! Would 100% recommend her to anyone. If I could give her six stars I would. :)

Vanessa was fantastic to work with! Her private home studio was lovely for a beginner dance lesson with my dad and step mom. I needed some help just making my dad and I’s father daughter dance look decent and not awkward. He’s not much of a dancer but Vanessa was so great at coaching us, helping him find the rhythm, and building out a very simple outline for our dance with an entrance, some basics, and a finale that will be easy to remember since this was our only lesson. My step mom was also eager to get a little dance practice in with him and Vanessa was very accommodating to let her jump in at the end as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for help with any sort of dance needs!

Vanessa was an amazing dance instructor. We had less than a month before our wedding when we decided we wanted lessons for our first dance, and she was able to get us in quickly for multiple sessions. She helped us design a custom dance for our song end-to-end and she broke classes down into one part at a time so that we could learn it despite being beginners. The first class was just learning two base dance steps that would serve as the foundation for our dance (and for dancing in general) and by the fourth class we had added a lift into our dance. By the end after less than ten hours of class, our dance looked absolutely amazing and we had fun doing it! Vanessa is incredibly encouraging, patient and supportive. She takes her clients input into account to create a customer dance and she is responsive over text. Overall she was incredible and my wife and I would highly recommend her!

I reached out to her less than two weeks before my wedding and within three lessons, my fiancé and I went from dreading our first dance to feeling pumped and confident with a choreographed plan. She was so kind and never made us feel awkward or uncomfortable. I cannot recommend her enough. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with her now!

Vanessa couldn’t have been more friendly, cool, and helpful! We would highly recommend her! Having never taken a dance lesson, we weren’t really sure what to expect but ended up having a ton of fun learning from Vanessa in preparation for our wedding. She tailored 4 lessons specifically for the songs we wanted and sprinkled in some fundamentals of dance into the lessons as well. Super professional and fun experience.

We had a beautiful first dance at our wedding and all of our guests mentioned how much they were impressed! Vanessa made us feel comfortable each lesson and helped us get out of our comfort zone. I looked into 3 different studios and compared prices ultimately choosing to go with Vanessa and am so glad I did. From the start her communication was amazing I explained my vision and sent her the music. She texted us before every session to remind us which was so helpful with trying to keep all the appointments before the wedding straight. The classes were so fun and such a wonderful bonding experience for my fiancé and I. We all 3 contributed ideas and Vanessa added the extra touches to make it seamless. I honestly feel like what we ended with is so amazing it could go viral. The choreography while not too difficult is breathtaking and surpasses the vision I had for it.

Vanessa was amazing to work with! She helped us learn some moves to use during our first dance. She’s very patient and can explain in a way that non-dancers understand. We loved working with Vanessa so much that we booked an additional class to learn merengue. With the help of Vanessa we felt confident with our first dance, and used some fancy dance moves during the reception! If you’re considering dance classes - Vanessa is the perfect teacher!!!

Vanessa was amazing! Three lessons in, and we're feeling pretty good about the first dance - this is saying a lot because neither of us really danced before! We even gave her three songs to work with too: - Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud - Luke Combs's The Kind of Love We Make - Shakira's Hips Don't Lie Granted, they were shortened and stitched together, but that's three very different songs that she managed to put together a dance that 1) we can do with our lack of experience, 2) we can learn in three lessons, and 3) fits the music and feels good. She's also very comfortable to work with. She takes her time and doesn't rush things while also making sure that we get the most out of the lessons. She's a top-notch teacher! She was flexible and kind but also did an amazing job coaching us through any areas that needed work. I highly recommend taking lessons with her. Vanessa is so wonderful! We hired Vanessa to help with my husband & I's first dance because we are NOT dancers. And, I am SO glad I did.
