It is run by Minister Marie Burns Holzer, an expert officiant who has performed over 1,300 ceremonies (and counting!) since 2011. She is dedicated to curating a meaningful ceremony for each of her couples.
Marie loves to collaborate with couples from varied backgrounds, welcoming those who are religious, spiritual, atheist, agnostic, and interfaith. That's because you can choose to have as simple or as custom a ceremony as you want. Whether your celebration is in English or Spanish (bilingual in Spanish and English), Marie wants to make your wedding vision -- simple or elaborate, small or grand -- to become a cherished memory.

D the her script for OUR CEREMONY. (See attached emails)
She talks about how much she cares about her couples and how she customizes each ceremony to reflect them, but unfortunately, she does not seem to follow her own ethics or values. We hired her because our initial consultation went great and her reviews were stunning. However, we soon realized that she doesn’t actually conduct herself in the way she presents online.
On our first call before booking, we were under the impression that we’d be able to work with her on the ceremony script, provide feedback, and make small adjustments to include what mattered most to us as we bought her MOST EXPENSIVE PACKAGE.
After booking, on our planning call, we brought this up — and she immediately shut us down, saying she does not share the script. We were taken aback but decided to trust her when she said she would instead send us a timeline and section descriptions (with options for each part of the ceremony) so that we could still feel comfortable with the content and flow.
After multiple reminder emails, we finally received the “timeline,” which only listed generic headings like “Greeting,” “Love Story,” and “Vows” — with no details or descriptions. After sitting with the idea of not knowing what would actually be said at our own ceremony, we grew anxious and politely asked if we could see a rough draft of the script for our ceremony. We even acknowledged in our message that we knew she didn’t usually share it but hoped she could make an exception so we’d feel at ease.
To our surprise, she refused immediately, became defensive and rude, and then canceled on us altogether — just two weeks before our wedding day.
To make matters worse, she decided to keep half of our payment ($500) even though she was the one who canceled.
We were shocked and deeply disappointed by her attitude, her lack of professionalism, and the way she handled the situation. Our planner also tried to communicate with her but was given attitude and had no professionalism.
We’re sharing this so other couples know what to expect. As the Bride and Groom, the vendors we pick should work to make US feel good. The way she treated us was NOT okay. We should be able to read what will be said at OUR ceremony as WE are the ones hiring HER. For her to not even try to make the couple comfortable is truly appalling. cided to contact Marie because we liked that she was non-denominational but also open to whatever beliefs her clients hold- she is accepting and flexible. After our initial meeting with Marie we knew we had made the right choice. She is friendly and professional, but also is one of those people who you feel like you’ve known for years even after meeting just 5 minutes ago. As far as ceremony planning, I swear Marie has it down to a science. It was so easy- she gave us room to do whatever we wanted yet somehow still did all the heavy lifting. She knows how to gather the information she needs to make a truly unique ceremony experience and make it seem effortless. Marie works hard to have the ceremony feel personal so she gets to know you both through meetings and questionnaires, and in the end it really helps her speak in a way that demonstrates and understanding of you both. She also gives you a variety of options on how to approach the ceremony (both flow and wording) so you can craft something that fits you as a couple. She's very personable and friendly, and is clearly very passionate about what she does. She talked to us together and individually, helped us write our vows, and put together a ceremony that was more perfect than we could've imagined! We had kind of a specific request to do a wine sharing in honor of my late stepdad and Marie worked it into the ceremony so perfectly. She was also very easy to communicate with throughout the planning process, she was by far one of the least stressful aspects of wedding planning. On the day, the ceremony was beautiful, and she captured the two of us so well. It was so personal, thanks to the Skype call we had with her a month or so before the wedding and also from filling in the Love Story questionnaire. There wasn't a dry eye in sight, and also lots of laughter.
