For over 20 years, Southern Inn Catering has been continuously growing and evolving, and has developed its own sort of identity separate from the beloved Southern Inn Restaurant. So, we have decided it is time to give it a name of its own! We are pleased to announce the re-branding of Southern Inn Catering as The Lexington Catering Company. Here's to a year of new beginnings and growth!

y seamless from start to finish. From the passed hors d’oeuvres, to the bar service, to one of the most beautiful buffet displays I have ever seen, LCC made our wedding feel incredibly luxurious while still remaining surprisingly affordable.
Catering is often one of the largest wedding expenses, and when it came to balancing cost, quality, presentation, and service, Lexington Catering Company stood completely above the rest. Compared to other catering companies we were quoted, their level of quality and professionalism was simply unmatched for the price.
Most importantly, every single dish at our wedding was genuinely outstanding. Before our tasting, I learned that all of their food is prepared fresh using locally sourced ingredients and that nothing is ever frozen — and honestly, you could absolutely taste the difference. Everything felt elevated, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared.
For cocktail hour, we had pimento cheese deviled eggs, lump crab avocado toast, and lavender satay chicken skewers, and our guests are still talking about them. The chicken skewers in particular were completely out of this world. For dinner, we served a spring salad, mushroom risotto, Mediterranean chicken, flank steak, and summer ratatouille, and every single entrée was flavorful, beautifully presented, and cooked perfectly.
Lexington Catering Company also handled all of our bar service and created our two custom signature cocktails: a Cosmopolitan and a Whiskey Mule, both of which were huge hits with our guests.
We worked directly with Sue Ann throughout the entire planning process, and she was absolutely incredible. She was responsive, knowledgeable, organized, and truly cared about making our wedding day perfect. The entire LCC team executed everything flawlessly, and I cannot recommend them highly enough for any wedding or special event.

We wanted really casual food (sliders and tacos) and they totally delivered on creating action stations that would fill our guests up but also keep the food vibe casual. We went for the hot pretzel bar (and the pretzels are homeade and baked fresh every morning and you can tell!), and the custom cocktails they produced for us were soooo good, special shoutout to their spicy marg! My only regret is that my dress was so tight, I couldn't eat all the potato salad I wanted to (it's the BEST), but I truly cannot recommend this catering group enough - everything was delicious from start to finish, and our tasting day was one of my favorite memories of wedding planning. nd, helpful and accommodating throughout the process. We went into our tasting not interested in fried chicken and ended up choosing it because it was that good and the hors d’oeuvres were amazing. Haidyn attended our final walkthrough and impressed us with how knowledgeable she was about the details of our venue. They set aside an appetizer plate and signature drinks for us after the ceremony and made our dinner plate/brought us a drink. We thought the chicken wasn’t hot enough but every other detail from our proposal was executed as expected with torrential rain during the reception. They were a huge part in making our day go smooth!

We were able to have a tasting to check that we liked our selections, make any changes, and discuss the finer details.
They were very flexible to accommodate our wishes, like putting a water station by the outdoor ceremony site since it was going to be quite warm that day. The servers were very attentive to us, always making sure we had enough food and drinks all night. It was also very convenient that flatware/glassware was included in our package and we could rent linens, etc. from them and didn't need to use a separate company.
On your wedding day, there is so much going on in your mind that everything you don’t have to think about is a win. We never had to worry about anything food related on the day of. The food was delicious, the staff was very nice, and they were easy to work with.

l as meals for allergies/various diets. The lower rating comes from lack of communication and at times frustrating interactions. Getting a proposal and quote took months and we had to chase down people to get replies. On a few occasions as we were asking questions or getting clarification on allergy information the way we were talked to was not appreciated and felt disrespectful. Not all staff was like this but it happened on a few occasions with more than one person. We also specifically asked ahead of time to have meals packaged so we could enjoy the food the day after the wedding since the day of the wedding was so busy. It’s still unclear if this was communicated from the planner to the caterer but it did not happen. One of the staff also nearly ran into my dad’s car leaving the venue because he wanted to rush out before the guests left. I hope they can bring the guest experience quality up to the level of the food quality in the future.

s at our wedding to enjoy their food! We had many guests come up to us afterwards raving about the taco station, grit station and the late night hot pretzel snack. It's clear that the food was a difference maker for us and our guests, and we are very pleased that it was a major takeaway for our big day. Though the food was excellent, there were a couple minor issues. Sometimes they were slower to respond to our emails than we would have liked, especially in the days leading up to the wedding. Additionally, we found out that our bartenders that they provided were called in last minute for whatever reason and they weren't the most experienced and had some issues throughout the night, but nothing that threatened the evening. They asked the groom to help open wine bottles because they didn't know how to with the openers they had on hand, the signature drinks weren't ready to be dispersed right after the ceremony like we had asked for (so we could try to prevent a line from forming at the bar). Like I said, some minor issues, just not what we planned for. This is not to take away from the overall positive experience that we had with this caterer. The food and presentation is the most important part of the job and they certainly delivered on this!

Our first experience was the tasting. Haidyn, sent us a menu and told us to pick a few things from each category. When I tell you our eyes were bulging at the amount of food we got to taste and it was all AMAZING! After that she put together a quote based on what we decided and took it from there.
On the wedding night the food was just as delicious as we remembered! People are still raving about the food today, and all of the leftovers were quickly eaten.

to my husband and I. We wanted delicious, high-quality food without breaking our budget and that’s exactly what we got. They have options for every wedding style- appetizer and entree stations, passed hors d'oeuvres, buffet style, themed stations, etc. We originally had decided on appetizer stations but decided to go with the passed apps instead and we couldn’t have been happier. We were able to have 5 passed hors d'oeuvres, which was great because it was so hard to choose between the different options. We wanted variety and with that option we were able to have everything we wanted.
We specifically worked with Haidyn, who was a lifesaver. She answered any and all questions we had and took the time to explain the different options and pricing and helped us make decisions that best suited our wants and needs. The rest of the catering staff was very courteous and did a great job making sure the guests were taken care of.
The food…the tasting was one of the best days of our lives. A table full of gourmet food, all for you, who wouldn’t want that?! Some of our personal favorites were the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles and the smoked gouda mac n’ cheese. Everything turned out just as delicious on the day of the wedding and I still get compliments from guests on how wonderful the food was.

ur more elderly guests had their dinners brought to them so as to not have to worry about them getting up and going to the buffet. We had a popcorn bar for our cocktail hour (an atypical request but the team pulled it off!). They also allowed us to provide our own beer and wine which was great since we had to get our wine from our venue contractually. We had a vegetable pasta and flank steak as our options and both were fantastic! I had sort of underestimated the veggie pasta but it really was delicious. All of our guests raved at how great the food was. The staff was very professional and kept things moving smoothly. Haidyn was there to take care of my husband and I by getting us another drink at the bar and more food whenever we needed. She went above and beyond by checking in with me to see if she could get my father anything as she noticed (without any prompting by me) that he wasn't eating much. It really made me realize that she was watching over things and cared about our wedding. She got along so well with our wedding coordinator and made everything food-related run smoothly! Then ... we tried their food and were BLOWN AWAY. There was no doubt in our mind that Southern Inn Catering was the way to go, and they still managed to exceed our expectations with their communication, customer service and (of course) the food at our wedding. Our guests raved about their meals, everything was restaurant quality.
And of course... HAIDYN WELLS. I can not say enough about how wonderful Haidyn is, as a person and as a coordinator. She works with Southern Inn, but we also hired her on as our wedding coordinator. I could not have done it without her. She excels at what she does, and does it all with a positive and heart warming attitude. It was an honor to work with her, and feel so blessed to have gained a friend as well.

so did all of the set up and breakdown for the wedding and (as far as we were made aware) everything went smoothly and everything looked great. Haidyn was awesome and answered every single one of our many questions and was always able to give suggestions when we unsure about something. I also liked that for the initial tasting, we were able to taste exactly what menu items we would most likely want to have at our wedding (with a small cost), unlike other caterers we looked into who only allowed certain menu items to be tasted during the tasting. Southern Inn Catering was also great with food allergies. The mother of the groom has a variety of food allergies and is sensitive to cross-contamination, so we were able to get her a different meal from what was being served, which was plated in the kitchen away from the other food, and brought directly to her.

They also provided tables, chairs, silverware, ice, and they would have brought linens but we purchased those ourselves.
