Liberty Fleet brings a unique blend of maritime charm, historic character, and breathtaking Boston views to your special event. Our two classic wooden schooners, Fame and Liberty Star, are available to charter between mid-May and mid-October in Boston Harbor.
From the moment you step aboard the ship at Fan Pier, you'll be welcomed by our captain and crew and encouraged to relax, enjoy the fresh harbor air, and leave your worries on shore. Guests can help raise the sails for a true tall ship experience or kick back with a cocktail while the celebration unfolds out on the water. For a truly magical experience, set sail at sunset and watch the lights of the city sparkle to life against the Boston skyline.
Fame has seating for 45 guests and Liberty Star has seating for 39, offering an intimate casual space for your guests. Both boats have a full bar featuring local spirits, MA wines, and Boston craft brews. We can also help you coordinate catering options ranging from charcuterie platters to a raw bar.

Meet the team
Troy & Monica Sullivan
Owners
Troy and Monica took over ownership of the Liberty Fleet in 2024, after Troy had been involved with the Fleet as a captain for many years.
It has been Troy’s dream to own a sailing business ever since he began sailing tall ships in his early 20s. He and Monica met aboard a schooner in CT in 2005 and between them have sailed extensively in the Atlantic, Pacific, Great Lakes, and Caribbean.
They look forward to engaging their three children in their passion for sailing!
The Liberty Fleet has been operating day sails in Boston Harbor for 30 years. On board, guests have the opportunity to temporarily become part of the crew and step back in time for a taste of what it was like to sail the magnificent ships that were once a common sight in every port.
