We knew from the start this was where we wanted to have our daughter wedding the venue was perfect.
The property is beautiful but we fell in love with Boulder Ridge on top of the mountain so private and peaceful.
From the night before rehearsal dinner & the day of the wedding it was nice to have everything all in one location our guests had the choice to stay over night accommodations rooms where very nice & clean
Bailey went above and beyond to help with our needs she was a pleasure to work with counting up to the day of the wedding the day of rehearsal & wedding Kathleen was amazing she keep everything in order
The food was delicious and drinks were refreshing after a long day.
The day was so perfect and so beautiful. Thank you Bailey Kathleen & liberty for a beautiful day.
We got married at Liberty Mountain last October and it was the best decision we've ever made!
My husband really wanted an all inclusive venue so we wouldn't have to juggle a bunch of vendors...and I really wanted a venue that gave us the freedom to personalize our wedding. Liberty really was the perfect combination!
They took all the logistical stress off us, which allowed us to focus on the little details that were most important to us.
Since everything was in one spot, our wedding felt like a weekend getaway for us and our guests. From the setting up, to the rehearsal, to the getting ready, to the wedding, to the after party...we were able to seamlessly bounce around in a way that felt fun and carefree as opposed to strict and regimented.
Everyone was friendly and accommodating at all times. Through all the commotion, I must have lost my room key 15 times that weekend...but every time the front desk greeted me with a smile (sometimes a laugh) and asked me if there was anything else they could do to help.
Our day of coordinator had a perfect balance of understanding, support, organization, and timeliness.
You could tell they genuinely cared about making our day special. They even made sure to pack up a to-go meal for me and my husband that they left in our room that night along with champagne and strawberries.
All-in-all Liberty went the extra mile to make our day truly perfect... and it is a weekend that I will never forget. Even a year later, I still get teary eyed when I look back at it.
Liberty Mountain Resort was the perfect venue for our wedding! We got married on the Overlook Terrace and had our reception in the Overlook Ballroom. We really wanted a location that had a beautiful backdrop, a hotel for people to stay on site, and a bar on site so that we could spend as much time with our family and friends after the wedding as possible. Liberty fit the bill and it was absolutely perfect. Our guests raved that they couldn’t have picked a better location. We thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Liberty as well. They accommodated all of our needs and provided excellent customer service. I highly recommend Liberty Mountain Resort for your wedding!
Everything about Liberty was perfect! We held our reception in the Overlook room which had gorgeous views from the patio and the ballroom was naturally pretty without having to add a ton of decorations. Terry was wonderful to work with and helped ensure that all questions were answered and everything ran smoothly. The bridal ready room was perfect for getting ready in the morning and had plenty of space for my whole bridal party. We loved that our guests could stay right at the resort, which was a huge plus since we had our rehearsal dinner and after party at the Eagle and the Owl and had lots of people traveling from out of town. Overall Liberty was wonderful and I would highly recommend!
I booked LMR in 2019- got married on 10.10.21.
Venue: AMAZING! The views outside are incredible and the style inside is the perfect combination of elegant and homey. We loved having guests stay on site with us the night before and the night of the wedding. Make use of the fire pit! We had about 20-30 guests after the reception change into their jammies and meet us at the fire pit for s’mores. The bar at Eagle and The Owl (on site restaurant and bar) stayed open a bit later too which my family really enjoyed! Might be odd to add, but the bathrooms were nice too! *Recommendation! ALWAYS ask to see the bathrooms when looking at a venue. You don’t want to end up with a surprise porta potty.
Staff/ planning: I started planning my wedding before covid and got married recently. During this whole planning time, I worked with about 5 different coordinators. 2 at the beginning left for family/ personal reasons. Then we worked with Terry for about a year. She was very helpful! I am the person to ask a lot of questions and she answered all of them so well and in a timely manner. When the wedding services coordinator, Austin, returned back to LMR, we began working with him. We worked with Austin from June until a few days before our wedding. Austin was so great to work with! We mostly emailed, but you could tell even through email that he was happy to be there helping you with your big bday. Then, we were working with Kathy, our day of coordinator. I had met Kathy in person once when we came for our food tasting. Aside from that, we hadn’t talked until I saw her at my venue for my rehearsal the day before my wedding. There was a lot of miscommunication between the staff of what we’d discussed with someone at a different time and the Information never got to Kathy for execution. We had to spend some extra time before the rehearsal going over all those details. During the rehearsal, we only walked down the “aisle” 2 times. We definitely should’ve practiced more! The day of my wedding, Kathy wasn’t around while we were setting everything up. I may have seen her a time or two but she wasn’t there to help do anything. *Recommendation! Get clarification of what your day of coordinator is going to. Right before the ceremony, Kathy was telling our photographer something totally different than what we just practiced the day before. How the guys were walking down the aisle and in what order. It was what usually happens, but it’s not what we discussed. It was wrong. Thank goodness for my maid of honor who stepped in and told her no at the last second.
Long story short: it’s hard working with a lot of people. Write everything down yourself and make sure you give everyone the correct information. Don’t rely on or expect people to do this.
Food and services: We offered beef tenderloin, chicken Chesapeake, and pasta primavera. My husband and I tried the chicken during our tasting and loved it! During our wedding, I ordered the beef and my husband ordered the pasta. We tried each other’s meals as we usually do. Both were wonderful! Next thing we know, Kathy comes over and asks Zach if he would rather have the beef. She noticed that his face lit up when he tried it. We were so impressed with the service! For our passed hors d’oeuvres, we offered raspberry phyllo, beef piroshki, and caprese skewers. We enjoyed them and so did our guests! Even the kids told me how good everything was.
Total: 10/10!! Even with the little hiccups, I had the best day ever :)
Everyone here made sure our day was top notch and exactly how I wanted it. I had been planning my wedding for 2 years and they were in constant communication with me through it all. My day ended up being just the way I pictured it. David (our day of coordinator) was in contact with me during the whole big day to make sure I was happy with everything. They even made sure things were going as planned during an unexpected rain storm right before the ceremony.
We could not have been happier to be married at Highland Lodge on September 28, 2019. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and our out-of-town guests were grateful for the on-site accommodations. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly. It was really nice to have the bridal get-ready room so close to the action - the girls had their hair and makeup done here and could get ready and leave their belongings in the room. We were so thankful for Alyssa Bartlett's hard work and positive attitude as our day-of coordinator. When we had an outside vendor issue on the day of the wedding, Alyssa was calm and collected and helped us resolve the issue. We've already had guests asking how to book their own weddings at Liberty!
We thought Liberty Mountain Resort did a very good job for our daughter’s wedding at Boulder Ridge Lodge on September 21, 2019. The hard work and care it takes to organize a wedding well were evident. Wedding Sales Associate Alyssa Bartlett as our first impression of Liberty Mountain Resort was kind, welcoming and thorough. David Auxt as our point of contact was exemplary. We very much appreciated David’s timely response to calls and emails from four of us with our daughter, as well as her fiancé, living 1,600 miles away.
When we had initial concerns about our choices at Tasting, we really enjoyed what we finally had along with the attention needed for some food allergies. After rehearsal dinner the night before our daughter’s ceremony, many guests drifted to Highland’s fine Eagle & The Owl restaurant to keep visiting. Breakfast together with family and friends between the Eagle & The Owl and Ike’s Chophouse was delicious and lovely.
With the bridal party getting their hair and make-up done in the bridal suite Wedding Day, time there was personal and sweet.
Arrival for our guests was a stunning visual on Wedding Day driving up the wonderful tree-lined drive to our daughter’s late afternoon outdoor ceremony held on the tumbled brick patio and cedar gazebo of Boulder Ridge Lodge surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape.
When I missed planning flowers for the cake, David not only graciously noticed, but offered to get the extra flowers for accents I suggested we could use to which I was very grateful. When my daughter brought candle holders and candles for the mantle of Boulder Ridge Lodge’s beautifully crafted stone fireplace without knowing candle fire codes required hurricane globes, David suggested Liberty Mountain Resort could supply the needed globes and he provided them at our relieved request.
We have so many new and cherished memories against the backdrop of the post & beam log construction of Boulder Ridge Lodge with its abundance of floor to ceiling windows and wrap around deck. From delicious food to happily dancing guests to enjoying new and old family and friends to watching the professional photographer capture images of our newest Mr. and Mrs. to many of us delighting in seeing our grandson roll down the gentle slopes of the greened-up snow tube run to sending off the contented bride and groom with a sparkler farewell - and many more memories in-between, before and after.
Thanks for the memories of such a well-organized and well-cared wedding, Liberty Mountain Resort.
My wedding was so amazing. I had no idea. If I had to do it all over again, I would pick Liberty again! I loved my venue. Boulder Ridge Lodge was so beautiful and I loved that there are getting ready areas on site, that there were so many different places for guests to explore inside and outside, and that the hotel was right there for us to stay and have meals together.
Our friends came up in the days leading up to the wedding and we made a whole weekend out of hanging out at the hotel bar, exploring Gettysburg, and hanging out at the fire pit!
The staff were really friendly and our Day of Coordinator Alyssa was fantastic! Liberty made wedding planning very easy and I love that they handle food as well. 10/10
LMR was the perfect venue for our winter wedding. We had our ceremony and reception (~118 guests) inside the Highland Lodge and it was gorgeous. I loved all the stonework, wood ceilings, and chandeliers. The tablescape was lovely and I appreciated how much was included with the venue fees (e.g. lanterns, linens, table numbers, set up, breakdown, etc.). With the venue fees, we had solo access to several additional private spaces (getting ready room and a conference room) which was very helpful for our bridal party and vendors.
The food was delicious and I was very happy with the number of menu options that we could choose from. The wait staff was incredibly attentive. From Terri looking after us before the event, to the servers during the reception, I felt very well taken care of. They were even sure to keep sparkling cider stocked behind the bar for me because they knew I didn't drink.
Our day of coordinator, Alyssa, was incredibly helpful and always was responsive to my questions throughout the entire planning process. She ensured that everything ran smoothly the day of the wedding. She even held my veil so it didn't blow away in the wind-- she really went the extra mile for us.
LMR also gave us a free night stay included in a large and well-appointed room at the resort because my husband is a first responder. They even had a surprise champagne and strawberries for us at the end of the night.
We had our heart set on snowy-ski lift photos and LMR fully delivered. They assembled a large team to escort us around, and direct skiiers around us so that we could safely and quickly take photos. When my dress almost hit the mud, a ski lift operator literally ran through the mud to catch it for me. Everyone really made us feel special and went above and beyond to make our time there special.
I highly recommend this venue to couples!!!!
Liberty Mountain was the perfect venue for our end of summer wedding (08/24/18)! We actually stumbled across it unexpectedly during our venue search and scheduled a tour because it checked off several important items we were hoping to find in a venue: outdoor and indoor space for all parts of our event, beautiful mountain scenery, a casually elegant ballroom that required minimal extra décor and could be used for our ceremony back-up rain plan, on-property hotel accommodations for guests, a bar and fire pit area (ok this one wasn't a must-have - but it was a great extra!) for guests to gather after the reception, and an on-site post-wedding brunch space. We utilized the Overlook Room and Terrace (located within Highland Lodge) and also found that the well-maintained golf course located below and beyond the Overlook Terrace added to the lovely scenery of the venue. Having seen our wedding photos, we can also say that every area of the venue photographed well. For hair, nails, make-up, we utilized Laventide Salon (located on-site) and everyone looked fabulous!
Our Day-of-Coordinator was Alyssa, who we worked with for most of our planning process after a previous coordinator left LMR for a new job. Alyssa took on the responsibility with ease and professionalism. She really made us feel like her #1 priority (even though we know she had other couples to work with simultaneously), which we greatly appreciated. Missy and Deanna worked with us on the sales/financial side of our event. We found that everyone demonstrated kindness and flexibility, as well as ability to effortlessly address all questions/issues. Bridgett coordinated our room block. She also demonstrated professionalism and efficiently handled questions & requests regarding the room blocks. All other LMR staff members were kind and helpful across the board – they each showed friendliness and a willingness to assist us throughout the planning process and during/after our event.
For our reception food, we had Jack Daniels bourbon beef, pan-seared salmon, & penne pasta primavera (+ children's entrée). We had the entrees served with roasted beet salad, seasoned parsley potatoes, seasonal vegetables, & gourmet hot rolls with honey butter. The venue accommodated all food allergies/food restrictions. For cocktail hour, we chose coconut chicken tempura, basil/mozzarella/tomato skewers, beef carpaccio crostini, & shrimp cocktail, plus the garden vegetables & seasonal fruit. For our alcoholic drinks, we chose the house brand liquor/wine, domestic bottled beers, & added a selection of special bottled beers. We also had two signature drinks, which the venue helped us coordinate serving. We will note that our first food tasting (a joint event with other couples and family members hosted at the venue) was lacking in several areas. We provided specific feedback to the team working with us, and the venue accommodated a second private tasting (bride & groom only). We found the food to be much better during the second tasting, which eliminated our hesitations about the quality of food that would be served at our event. On the day of our wedding, the food tasted fantastic (we actually got to enjoy eating most of it) and the drinks were good.
In sum, LMR truly had everything we were looking for in a venue – even matching the letters of our new married monogram (L-M-R)! We hope many more couples have a positive experience there and we plan to visit again in the future for a romantic getaway.
I honestly feel like I had the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen and the day went perfectly with no complaints. I got married at Boulder Ridge Lodge and couldnt have been happier with how everything went. I worked closely with both Missy and Abby throughout this process and they were always very professional and so sweet. They both were always quick to respond to any and all questions I had, and made me feel so special and important on my wedding day and during the entire process. I have nothing but great things to say about this venue!
We had our wedding at the Overlook Terrace and reception in the nearby lodge and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. Liberty Mountain was the perfect place to hold our fall wedding. Missy Stimer was incredible at getting the process started in the sales office and our day of coordinator Abby Hartnett did a wonderful job making sure our day went smoothly! We had special requests like a custom macaroni and cheese bar and a few guests with dietary restrictions and allergies and Chef Rousey was able to accommodate all of that as well! We got a lot of compliments on the food at the buffet as well as the late night snacks! It was nice having all of those hotel rooms onsite since many of our guests were coming in from out of town. We were told rooms book up VERY fast but had no issue making sure as many guests as possible were able to book a room!
From the beginning of the planning process to the day of our wedding, the staff at Liberty were great! Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, and our family and friends thoroughly enjoyed staying at the resort. If you are looking for a mountain top wedding with many amenities, look no further!
We were married on 8/17/2018 at Liberty Mountain Resort. We had the perfect day! We were married on the Overlook Terrace and had the reception in the Overlook room. Our coordinator Kelly Kurtyka was so personable and organized. As a bride I was calm, relaxed and that allowed me to truly take in the day. The entire staff at the resort allowed that to happen. My favorite part of the planning was that everything you need it at your finger tips. The hotel accommodations, salon and spa, dining and anything else you could imagine was on site. The food was amazing! The ice cream bar was a hit with the guests and they are still talking about it! Our vendors also played a huge role in making the day special. Matt Shew from Shew-sical Entertainment, Engin Caliskan Photography, and Suga Mama Cakes went above and beyond to make our day mirror us as a couple. It really was the best day ever and we are so glad we made the choice to get married at Liberty!
Our wedding at Liberty Mountain Resort turned out beautifully! Since July is considered "off season" for weddings, there were not any other weddings during our weekend, so the entire Liberty campus felt like ours! Our guests have continually praised the gorgeous views, the kindness of the staff, and the delicious food for the past month!
We particularly liked working with Elizabeth and Austin in the Sales office. They were patient with all of our questions and made it clear from the beginning that they would do anything to make our day special!
I rated Liberty with 4 stars because it can be pricey and not all wedding coordinators are as easy to work with as others. Overall though, we definitely made the right decision in choosing Liberty!
We had our reception at LMR the Overlook. Everything was absolutely perfect and stress-free. Our coordinator was Austin; he was great to work with and made sure to double check each detail to make everything just the way we wanted it. The food is fantastic and we heard so many great compliments! I would definitely recommend this venue to everyone. We wanted something somewhat rustic but still elegant and classic. LMR the Overlook was absolutely perfect!!
We loved working with Liberty Mountain Resort and I can't imagine having had a wedding anywhere else! The scenery was beautiful, the facilities were top-notch, the staff was amazing and the food was delicious. It was great to have all our guests be able to stay on site, and everything was so well organized. We were able to get all the decorations, food, cocktail hour and everything all included, which made planning the wedding so easy. On top of that, the facilities were amazing! They had a perfect room for getting ready, space for a rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception, dancing and great events for guests to do in their free time. They were also amazing at helping us do some more out of the box and creative ideas. I was blown away by everything and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a venue!
We had such an amazing experience working with Liberty Mountain! Coming from the DC area, Liberty was very affordable and you are definitely getting a fantastic venue for your money. The food was delicious and still warm by the time it hit tables, and the venue was beautiful. The staff is incredibly nice and willing to help. We loved working with Missy and Adrienne to get our event where we wanted to be! Liberty was the perfect venue for us and we had the best experience with them and definitely recommend them if you are looking for a high-quality, great price, wonderfully staffed venue.
This is a special shout out to Allie, the day of coordinator at Liberty. She went out of the box for us on our wedding day. She is genuine and goes out of her way to make sure the wedding day goes smoothly. Allie made our wedding day! We look forward to working with Allie again soon. Thank you, Allie!
My husband and I just got married September 15, 2017 at the highland lodge overlook room and terrace. We can not say enough great things from our first tour with Elizabeth, to all the planning all the details with our day of coordinator Adrienne, to the front desk hotel staff and Bridgette for handling our block of
rooms and check in with such ease. Once Adrienne got us through dinner Austin helped us with the rest of the reception evening. He was great to work with as well by even having our food boxed up and taken to our room to have for later! The food was so delicious from lunch we had served to be bridal suite and the guys room to cocktail hour and dinner! The entire Liberty mountain staff is exceptional and truly goes above and beyond!! We would relive our wedding day over and over again if we could!
LMR was the perfect venue for our wedding! We chose to have our ceremony and reception at Boulder Ridge Lodge, which is such a beautiful and picturesque setting. Our wedding coordinator, Allie, was just as sweet as she was helpful in making sure that we had the best day possible- which we absolutely did! I have nothing negative to say about our experience here and would recommend it to anyone!
We had an absolutely beautiful wedding day. Elizabeth was our wedding sales associate and was there for us every step of the way. She was incredibly helpful in answering any and all questions we had along the way. She was friendly and professional throughout the entire stressful process.
Our day of coordinator, Adrienne was SO efficient, helpful, and all around amazing to work with. She worked with the DJ, the photographer, and us to make the day go off without a hitch. And if there were hiccups along the way, I certainly did not know about them.
The one and only issue that we had, was regarding the hotel/block. 2 members of our bridal party, and 2 other family members did not get the discounted rate. One of the bridesmaids was actually told that there were no rooms Saturday night, and had to stay at another hotel. This ended up not being the case. Another hotel related issue was the check in time. Another bridesmaid was unable to check into her hotel room until 3:00. Our ceremony started at 2:30. I had the same issue when I tried checking in before our rehearsal meeting/run through and ended up having to get ready in a locker room. My bridesmaid was able to get an early check in, for an extra fee. Guests did complain to us about the hotel service not being all that great.
Hotel issues aside, we would not have chosen any other location for our wedding. They really did a wonderful job with pulling everything together for us. We LOVED having our wedding at Liberty Mountain Resort!
Our entire experience working with Liberty Mountain Resort was exactly what we could’ve hoped for with our reception venue. We first met with Elizabeth in Sales in May of 2015 and she worked with us on keeping dates on hold for about 2 weeks while we worked through confirming details with our ceremony venue as well as our priest. We knew right away that we wanted the Alpine Room for our reception so being able to work with them upfront was exactly what we needed when setting our date. All throughout the planning process, the girls at Liberty were there to answer questions I had regarding vendors in the area and were so receptive to my slight (ok, maybe not so slight) control-freak tendencies with needing to constantly know what was needed when and who took care of what, etc. Elizabeth was out on maternity leave during our planning process but the other girls in the office were more than happy to fill in for her during her absence. Our day-of coordinator Terry was just as helpful and attentive during the entire wedding day. We took advantage of the heavenly suite and had our hair & make-up girls come to us that morning and once Terry arrived she consistently checked in and made sure all of our early morning arrivals went smoothly and nothing needed attending to as far as the reception room goes. She even allowed us to store our cupcakes in their kitchen and had her staff set them up closer to t the reception start time as we had a family friend bake them for us and would’ve melted if she had to set them up prior to the ceremony. Our reception was absolutely perfect, from the decorations to the food & staff, they truly made our day one to remember!
Working with Melody and Elizabeth was a great experience. They made sure each event went perfectly and we got everything we wanted for the wedding. The staff especially was great and welcoming to all our guests even when everyone was rambunctious at the end of the night. Liberty is very reasonable for how professional they are at your wedding.
Beautiful site. Ceremony and reception were both there. Many many compliments :) The breakfast the next morning was great. The views were gorgeous. Overpriced I would say, but I feel the entire wedding industry is overpriced and they were worth the money.
Beautiful!
We couldn't ask for a more lovely venue for our rustic wedding. And the staff is wonderful.
Picked the venue for the great views, beautiful lodge and hotel accommodations for my guest for my wedding reception and Liberty did not disappoint. Liberty had wonderful package deal options and the quality of service and the food was top notch. The chef prepared a fabulous meal for my guest, accommodating everyone's dietary needs. The hotel staff kept me informed of all my guest and any cancellations and Kurt at the front desk even moved rooms around so my guest were near us and even delivered all my guest bags. The rooms were very nice and the staff was very friendly. So much to do at Liberty. My wedding guest played golf and the night before the event went to McKee's tavern and outside Tikki bar where they had live music and fire pit. The staff set up all the tables for my reception and lit all 100 candles. The wait staff was very friendly. Never once did I feel I had to seek them out in order to get service. They were always visible and ready to help. I did not have any worries for my coordinator Karen Pennington and Terry Bowser kept me informed and made me and my Husband feel very wonderful on our special day. I always hear there is something that goes wrong at a wedding that you can't control, but honestly speaking not one thing did I have a concern or worry about. Everything from start to finish was PERFECT. The extra's like the outside bar and music and free breakfast buffet that were offered with hot food prepared for our guest the next day was fabulous, and the great scenic views were the added bonus. Highly recommend!
We got married right outside of Boulder Ridge on the top of the mountain and had the reception inside the Boulder Ridge building. We fell in love with this location the first time we saw it and when it all came together it was better than we imagined. There were no issues anywhere throughout the night, everything went according to the plans. Elizabeth worked with us through the planning process and answered all questions and MaryAnn was our day of coordinator and she was extremely helpful as well. The day was perfect and many of our guests commented on how beautiful the location and building was. Overall we were very happy and would recommend this venue to anyone.
We paid for our daughters wedding-$25000 worth and we had several very unpleasant issues, most to do with their so called "wedding planner/hostess" ,Maryanne... We wrote a lengthy review pointing out the positives of our experience, as well as the negative... So we are surprised that our review was somehow deleted.... But in summary very nice place- but absolutely insist on not having Maryanne as your hostess....
We had our wedding at Boulder Ridge Lodge. The process started a little rocky with our assigned sales rep Kelly Kurtyka. We were switched to Melissa Boyd after a few months and some of the things Kelly had said we would get or pricing was incorrect or not conveyed properly. Melissa worked hard to get us what we were promised and it turned out wonderful! I received compliments from pretty much everyone who attended the wedding about how beautiful the lodge was. When we arrived at the venue to get ready, there were some cleanliness issues that got resolved within the hour I called. Melissa had an emergency the week before so we ended up working with another individual who was just as helpful! Our day of coordinator was Caron. She walked through everything with me and made sure everyone was good to go! The wait staff were extremely efficient and absolutely wonderful. We did have a few issues with bones in one of our main entrees but the site manager handled it with care. The other two dishes we had, everyone raved about. I will have to say, we had a guest who became severely intoxicated during the night. The on site security person went above and beyond to make sure the gentleman was taken care of and even went and got his own personal vehicle to take him back to his hotel room. I actually had no idea this all happened until the morning after. They handled it with the utmost discretion. The hotel rooms were phenomenal! Our wedding was absolutely wonderful and I cannot imagine having it any where else. I would and will be recommending Liberty Mountain Resort to any friends getting married around the area.
The venue at Boulder Ridge Lodge is absolutely beautiful and the food is delicious. Unfortunately, the customer service is not quite as wonderful. Our coordinator was switched approximately 2 months before our wedding, so we had to go over all the same questions and refill out forms. And when the coordinator changed, so did some of the pricing and policies. Even though we had a price quote reflecting what was told to us by the original coordinator, they would not honor that. The difference ended up being almost $3,000. And on our wedding day, we had a new coordinator...which turned out to be okay because she my favorite by far. Also, I was very displeased with the hotel block. We were quoted (by the first coordinator) at $105/room....when my quests called to book, they were told $189, which is absolutely ridiculous for the area and quality of the hotel. If I had known that from the beginning, I would have reserved a block somewhere else instead.
Our wedding this past September was everything we could have hoped for! Due to rain, our event at Boulder Ridge was moved inside: our staff was excellent at taking care of everything so I was not stressed or concerned. It turned out beautifully and we are so grateful!
Wonderful venue, fantastic staff! From the first call to set up an appointment, my husband and I were thrilled with the service. And of course once we did our tour, we knew we wanted to have our wedding here! What a beautiful location! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Boulder Ridge. From its stone patio, to the wrap around deck, fireplace and rustic feel, Boulder Ridge is stunning. Beautiful backdrop for our pictures. Aside from the amazing views/decor, the food was phenomenal! My guests were so pleased with the amount of food they received during the cocktail hour and dinner and continue to rave about how delicious everything was! From day one, the staff was amazing. We worked with Melissa during the planning and Mary Anne the day of. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful these two woman are! Each made sure we were taken care of and we can’t thank them enough for everything they did to make our rehearsal and wedding day run perfectly! In addition to that, the entire staff at Liberty Mountain resort, from Jeannie and the rest of the staff at the hotel to those that worked in the restaurant, were absolutely wonderful! My family and friends continue to comment about how much they enjoyed their stay. If you are looking for the complete wedding package, look no further, this place is absolutely the best place to get married!!
Liberty was amazing from the staff to the venue itself to the food to the hotel! Everyone was a pleasure to work with! My husband and I saw Liberty on the knot and when we visited it in person we just knew it was perfect!!! We worked with Melissa Boyd to get all of our details straightened out and she was wonderful! The venue is beautiful in itself, let alone all of the details that were added. Everyone raved about the food! The staff was more than pleasant and accommodating! I wouldn't have changed a thing! I highly recommend Liberty to any Bride let alone any other event!
My husband and I live in Virginia and had checked out several venues before we made it to LMR. Once we saw Boulder Ridge Lodge in person we knew for sure that was our venue. It is absolutely gorgeous there. Melissa was absolutely amazing. Planning a wedding 5 hours away was challenging but Melissa made everything possible. She always responded to emails quickly and went out of her way to help me when I needed it. She always had a good attitude even though I'm sure I annoyed her with my dozens of emails. We were not nervous or anxious about anything logistics related for the wedding. Maryann was our day of coordinator and she was just as relaxed and always assured us everything would happen as planned and that it did! All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. There is nothing we would change or have had done differently and our day was perfect thanks to the staff at LMR. Everyone that attended the wedding still comments to us and other people how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful the wedding was. Thank you so much Melissa and Maryann!
Liberty has 3 different ceremony/reception sites at their resort. I fell in love with Boulder Ridge as soon as I saw it. My sales representative Pat seemed very friendly. After doing what I thought was my due diligence, I decided to book with them. That is when things went downhill... They failed to mention that the date I had picked (the only date they had available, I should have known better) was the same as the 150th Battle of Gettysburg. All of the hotels in the area (including Liberty) were completely booked. This didn't show up when I tried researching the date beforehand b/c Liberty isn't in Gettysburg, just extremely close. Also, the actual date of the battle was 3 days beforehand, but the celebrations went on all week. They had promised me blocks of rooms for my guests, and then refused to give them to me. One of my main reasons I had booked with them was because there was a hotel on site, and all of my out of town guests could stay there. WRONG! They all had to stay over 40 minutes away. 2 of my guests were able to get a room at Liberty, at $250 a night (far above the original quoted price). As my wedding date neared, my sales coordinator became less and less helpful. She failed to return calls and emails. She misquoted prices to me, got my menu choices incorrect, etc. And then, during the rehearsal, a staff member let it slip that they had totally overestimated the expected Gettysbrug crowds and they had over 50% of their rooms available, back at the normal off season rate of around $100 a night. Needless to say, I was no too pleased when I found that out.
Moving on to the positive :) The actual wedding day coordinator, Karen was beyond helpful and friendly. She was able to fix the menu mistakes the sales rep made and was more than helpful the day of. The hor d'ourves were delicious! The food was pretty good. The location is gorgeous (minus the bridal suite... but I knew that going in).
Overall, the location is beautiful, and it was a good venue, but it definitely could have been better.
I got married in September 2012 at Boulder Ridge Lodge. I had a wonderful experience working with everyone at the resort. It was a perfect day and I loved how everything turned out. The best part is all of the planning was relatively easy, Liberty does a lot of the leg-work for you. Kelly K. was great and quickly responded to everything I needed with a smile, the staff on the day of was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with everything and that all aspects of the day ran smoothly. I highly recommend going with Boulder Ridge for your big day.
I had my wedding at Boulder Ridge Lodge. I received many compliments about how gorgeous it was and how good the food was. Kelly was my assigned wedding coordinator and she was very helpful, organized and available. She really helped make the planning process much simpler. I loved that they provided the catering and took care of all the rentals. They also provided a list of recommended (not required) vendors which was very helpful. All of the staff members that I encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a gorgeous and unique setting and stress-free planning!
everyone went above and beyond to prepare for the wedding and perfect it the day of!
From the help with the planning to the wedding coordinator the day of everyone was so helpful. The food was amazing and I love it! The rooms are nice and spacious! Perfect. Nothing bad to say at all!
My wedding took place in the Alpine Room. It was fantastic. So many people complimented us on the food, the location, and just the entire atmosphere. Kelly Kurtyka was fantastic with all of the planning along the way and she went out of her way to answer any questions I had in a very prompt manner. Our wedding day consultant, Terry was fantastic. We had to move our ceremony inside due to the incredibly hot weather and they made everything work as if it was the plan the entire time. Words cannot express how thankful I am to all of the staff at Liberty for accomodating us and helping to make everything the best!!
The planning process was very easy due to Kelly's assistance. We felt that Ski Liberty offered the best services/food/etc for the money! And it turned out that we were right. The room was gorgeous - and Mary Ann went to great lengths to make sure that everything was perfect for Jeff and I. Would recommend Ski Liberty to any engaged couple!
From the first day I stepped into Boulder Ridge, my husband and I fell in love with it. We knew that was exactly where we wanted to have our wedding. Pat was amazing through the entire process and helped me tramendously. As far as I am aware, nothing major happened the day of the wedding. Our guests loved their food, they loved the venue but most importantly had a great time. Pat was on vacation for a week so I was working with another coordinator and I wasn't too crazy about her. Pat really worked with me and gave me many options on everything. She was amazing to work with.
Liberty Mountain attended to all of our needs during the planning process and throughout the weekend of our wedding. There cannot be enough said about how wonderful the staff and venue is here!
Everything went so perfectly. Great good, amazing staff. The only small issue was the weak drinks!
The staff at Liberty really worked hard to make sure that I didn't have to. Once the big day was here, and in the hands of my wedding coordinator at Liberty, everything ran like absolute clockwork. She gave me her cell phone number to text any questions the night before too! I would absolutely recommend Liberty to anyone. Not only is it absolutely beautiful there, but the staff is well trained to make your big day everything you want.
Our reception here went off without a hitch (my husband and I, however, are now hitched)! We booked the Alpine Room about a year in advance, and the staff, especially Pat, did a great job staying in contact with me regarding payment schedules and rentals as my wedding approached. When it came time to finalize our plans, Pat was amazingly hospitable and explained all of our choices and responsibilities clearly- I never felt confusion about seating, food and alcohol choices, and all of the other last-minute details that can drive a bride crazy, nor did we feel pressured to choose options beyond our price range. On our wedding day, their on-site coordinator, Terry, ran everything like a well-oiled machine. She was great at keeping things smooth and on schedule; it felt like we had a complimentary wedding planner, which was so helpful in the days right beforehand. On the day of, she stayed in contact with my sister, the MOH, after the ceremony and periodically during the reception, down to details like when we left the church to head to the resort, so that our dinner wouldn't be overcooked! All in all, Liberty Mountain had excellent and stress-free service that made it easy to feel organized and calm on my wedding day. To top it off, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous! You are surrounded by the mountains and there are plenty of wide window views and spots to walk around outside. The single difficulty we encountered was pricing. This place was worth every penny, but even with our attempts to cut costs by choosing the lowest-priced dinner package, limited alcohol options, and few decorative rental choices like chair covers, my husband and I, who both have large, close families, were forced to constantly narrow our guest list. If you have a generous budget or are planning a smaller wedding, go for it!
Our wedding was fabulous! The vendors Liberty suggested were all great. The food is ALL amazing and they made the day go so smoothly. I knew with their organization that my wedding would be flawless.
Upon arriving at Liberty Mountain Resort, I immediately fell in love with the property and the Alpine Room. It was everything I had pictured our venue to look like. Kelly was absolutely amazing to work with. She helped guide us through the process of planning our reception. She usually responded to emails within a day or two. I was a little nervous that a different person would be helping us on the day of but MaryAnn was amazing. She was there to walk us through our rehearsal and helped us with any last minute questions on the day of the wedding. During our reception, she came up to us a few times and made sure everything was going ok.
We had an open bar and bartender was great. There was never a long line and everyone seemed satisfied with the drink choices. The food was also great!
I would recommend Liberty Mountain Resort to anyone getting married!
When we arrived at Liberty Mountain, we met Kelly Kurtyka, who worked with us throughout the entire process. She ensured that all details on their end were met and that our wedding was beautiful. My husband and I were the first of our friends to marry, so we were very inexperienced with everything. The day-of coordinator came early the day before to answer all our questions, walked us through everything, and made sure she met everyone in the wedding party right away. She kept us on schedule with entering the ceremony, taking pictures, entering the reception, etc. When we arrived at Boulder Ridge the rehearsal day, I couldn't believe how amazing everything looked. The head table and cake table had string lights under the tablecloth and everything was set up nicer than I could have imagined. Throughout the entire day before the wedding, we saw people sweeping the patio, mowing the grass, and just making sure everything was in place. The only things we did ourselves were add to the centerpieces, add additional table markers, and decorate the mantle. I loved Boulder Ridge/Liberty Mountain Resort and would recommend them to anyone. All of our guests are still talking about how incredible it was and how glad they were to have made the trip (the groom's side is from Minnesota).
Also, the cost of service includes all of the catering costs.
My daughter got married at Bolder Ridge at Liberty Mountain Resort. She was engaged in March and got married in October. From day one Liberty Mountain was the most helpful, supportive, and unreal backbone of such a successful wedding day. Bolder Ridge was spectacular for all the guests and my daughter and the groom. The food, the dancing, the atmosphere was a 10+. I would highly recommend Liberty Mountain, and Bolder Ridge for the most special day of your daughters life. The Fireplace was lit, the food was fantastic, and the place was clean and organized so that all the stress of planning that day could be truely enjoyed that evening (she got married on a Friday night). It was worth every dime we spent on handing our daughter off. She smiled all evening, dancing, and enjoying all the guests. My hats off to you Liberty Mountain, and said with deep appreciation, and a memory that we will never ever forget. Thank you!
So helpful with questions, friendly, went out of their way to make the day amazing! I wouldn't have gone anywhere else!! So much was included in the package--linens, place settings, tables and chairs, catering, alcohol. It made planning so much easier.
We had a fabulous experience working with Ski Liberty. Our reception at Boulder Ridge Lodge (BEAUTIFUL!!). We received so many compliments on the Lodge/scenery; the appetizers (so we were told) were outstanding; and our main dishes were delicious! My mother received a call from a close family friend after the wedding who said she had never been to a better venue.
The staff was very supportive and at times, helped serve as a wedding coordinator the day of our wedding. They were on-top of everything. The food director personally took care of our elderly guests and guests with special needs by directing them to the appropriate place in the back of the lodge and helping them enter the reception hall. That was such a sweet thing - and those guests were incredibly grateful for the assistance. This type of example was seen with all the staff throughout the day. They helped without needing to be asked and took care of our parents, and our wedding party to make sure we were all OK, had drinks, etc. Words cannot describe how happy we were with how they really took care of so many things for us that day.
While the Sales staff can be a tad overwhelmed at times and may not always respond to emails/phone calls immediately, they were always great about getting in touch with us and responding to our requests in a timely manner. They were very flexible to attend to our needs and worked with us on items we really wanted - and items we didn't want incorporated. Overall - we had such a wonderful experience and were very pleased with everything they did for us to alleviate any stress for us and our families.
Liberty Mountain resort did a wonderful job. The scenery at the lodge we got married was absolutely gorgeous which made for great pictures. We received alot of compliments on the venue. Everything ran smoothly and the coordinator made everything stress free.
Overall Liberty was a beautiful place for our wedding. The Boulder Ridge venue offered an outdoor venue which was exactly what we wanted, and the reception was on site in the lodge so no transportation needed! The event coordinators there were so helpful and were there an involved through the entire process. With your wedding at Liberty you are required to use their catering and beverage services which was a little pricey. Everyone raved about the food and service during the entire event though so it was worth it. Liberty does have a few venues and meal plans to choose from though which is convenient for budgeting. All in all, the place and event at Liberty was exactly what we wanted and although it costs us a little more you definately get quality and professionalism by choosing them.
