Life Like Ruby's

Alyssa was a terrific photographer at our wedding. Her shots are wonderful, not only capturing images from our wedding day but the emotion of the day as well. She has a terrific eye for lighting and intricate design and the resulting photos are incredible. She’s helpful, kind, and generous and was pleasure be with on the day; I’m grateful she was there to photograph our wedding!

Working with Alyssa could not have been easier. She was fun, energetic, and engaging the whole time without feeling intrusive on our day. The pictures turned out beautifully and the whole party was non stop talking about how great she is. If I ever need a photographer for anything ever again I am calling Alyssa. She made that part of our day so easy. The stress of it all did not phase her and she was a true professional without being stuffy. I could not recommend her more. If you want a memorable experience then having her as your photographer is a must. She's the best!

I can't speak highly enough of Alyssa and how perfectly she captured our day! She's a true professional but also has a lighthearted, friendly personality that makes you and your guests feel at ease - because who needs more stress on their wedding day? We started with shots of just us in the hotel room and at a street festival nearby, and that time with her was honestly one of funnest parts of the day. We then met up with family and friends for group shots and she was an expert at coordinating everyone, capturing both candid moments and more posed shots. This was on Front Street in Fishtown in front of a bunch of murals, and she literally stopped traffic so she should get the full mural in the shots. She was also great at knowing what we wanted the day of without us really having to communicate it - she kind of just operated in the background so we were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves, which definitely shows in the photos. She was happy to meet with us multiple times before the wedding to talk about style, shots we wanted, etc. and offered her opinion / vision on what would work best. We trusted her explicitly! And then the pictures themselves - like I said, I can't stop looking at them. They're exactly what I had in mind (and more) and are the perfect mix of candid and posed. The turnaround was really quick and the site she uses to deliver them was super easy to use and share with family and friends. I can't recommend her enough!

I hired Alyssa as my boudoir, engagement, and wedding photographer after finding her profile on Instagram. Her style was the perfect combination of timeless and romantic. I reached out to her through email and minutes later she was on the phone with me and my fiancé. We were insanely impressed by her passion and enthusiasm. We booked her that day. Though Alyssa assured me it would be fun, I was most nervous about the boudoir session. I wasn’t used to getting photographed but I really wanted to gift my fiancé with a romantic album made just for him. Turns out, Alyssa was right. She made me feel so comfortable!!! She's genuinely the sweetest human. She even bought me an array of flowers to be use as props. Alyssa won’t just be your photographer, but also your stylist, creative director, comic relief, and friend. The photographs turned out BEAUTIFUL. She's the only photographer I will ever use/recommend!!

I did not know Alyssa before she took my engagement photos, I had only looked at her online portfolio. Turns out, she's even BETTER than the photos she posts online (and those are great!). Hit her up. You'll end up feeling like you didn't pay her enough. I was SO HAPPY with my engagement photos and so was my family, that we had her take our family photos on the Rocky steps and I had her take my wedding photos. I CANNOT BELIEVE I stumbled upon her. What a find!

We spent a lot of time with Alyssa on our wedding day and I couldn’t IMAGINE hiring anyone else! Alyssa is the easiest person to be around. She’s professional, friendly, funny and confident. Despite our demanding timeline, Alyssa was able to capture everything we wanted and more. It’s clear she adores her work and will go above and beyond to meet your photography needs. Some people just have "it." Alyssa has "it" and more! You can just tell that Alyssa is inherently creative and talented with a beautiful eye for stunning, unique images. Our engagement shoot and wedding day were lively and memorable; Alyssa provided us with photos that really stand out and perfectly capture the magic of both days. She took the time to understand us as a couple and the specific “look” we wanted for our Save the Dates. On our wedding day we gave her free rein and she did not disappoint! UPDATE: We just recently had Alyssa shoot photos for our holiday card and it was impossible to choose which one we liked best! We were even able to include our beloved 75 pound dog and Alyssa did great engaging with him and getting him to cooperate. We're so happy to be repeat clients!

I am the mother of a groom who just got married and used Alyssa from Life Like Ruby's. Alyssa was so nice to work with on the wedding day. When I asked her if she could take a family picture with my cell phone camera as well as hers, she said she would text me the picture the next day. since it would be much better than my cell phone's. She took my number and held to her promise, which was very gracious of her. The picture was beautiful of everyone-- 10 adults and 4 little ones! Photographers can be so intrusive on that day and she was not. She was great and I would recommend her.

If I could give 1000 stars I would! Alyssa is AMAZING!! If you are looking for a photographer and want the process to be smooth and the pictures to be PHENOMENAL then you NEED to book Alyssa! She was unbelievable and went above and beyond for our wedding! She provided a 2nd photographer who was just as wonderful and her pricing was MORE than fair! Alyssa came earlier than she was supposed to in order to check out the area and get more pictures around the venue! She worked well with the area and went with the flow! My parents and all my guests were so impressed with her professionalism and the work she did for us! I could go on and on! She is top notch and it would be a mistake to pass her up!

Alyssa, quite simply, is nothing short of spectacular. Alyssa recently photographed my dad's wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer or experience. My siblings and I hired Alyssa as a surprise for our parents since they did not book a professional photographer for their wedding. We reviewed many different local photographers’ works in the Philadelphia area (and I mean MANY), and really just fell in love with Alyssa’s style right off the bat. (We also were very lucky as she recently returned to the Philadelphia area after being located in New York for some time). The wedding was to be slightly non-traditional but Alyssa did not bat an eyelash at any of the odd requests that we made. We had a short chat with her to discuss what we were looking for and knew right away that she was perfect for the job. She was so flexible and accommodating with our requests and truly makes your wishes and wants her number one priority no matter what they are. This was further exemplified the day of the wedding, and really solidified how spectacular of a photographer she is. I called Alyssa when we arrived at the venue and she told me she was already there and had time to look around both the venue and grounds for the most ideal picture locations. This worked perfectly for us later on as we were able to seamlessly transition from the ceremony to the picture locations without skipping a beat. I was extremely impressed that she took such care into making sure she knew the location ahead of time to make the photographing session effortless. I was also impressed with the ease Alyssa moved in and out of the foreground and background, making herself known when someone needed to adjust their angle and blending in perfectly during the more intimate family moments. She also listens to any request and idea and is not one to put down a suggestion (or many competing suggestions in the case of my chaotic family). She truly listens to what everyone wants and then interprets it all, creating a fantastic picture. We also had my two-year-old niece in our wedding party and Alyssa was even able to work around her sometimes less than willingness to be photographed. If we had a million chances to do everything over, we would still pick Alyssa every time as our photographer. If you are in the Philadelphia/tri-state area (or really, even if you’re not) I absolutely recommend Alyssa. To top it off, she has a great spirit and personality and it makes it all the more worth it to work with her. When you meet her you will instantly feel like you have known her for a very long time. Overall, we ended up not only getting spectacular photos that will last a lifetime, but a lifelong friend, as well!

Alyssa was absolutely amazing! She did a beautiful job for my Mom’s wedding and she is charming. She made it so comfortable, quick and easy... she’s very talented. Would recommend her for any occasion especially weddings.

From the moment we spoke she was so warm hearted and easy to talk to while still being extremely professional. She provided some ideas for possible shoot locations when we told her we were unfamiliar with the city. She was also super accomodating when our original shoot day was rainy. My fiancee and I are thrilled with our pictures from our engagement shoot. Alyssa's work is absolutely gorgeous. I wanted something a little challenging--an artsy elopement photoshoot in the woods. Not only was she totally open to/excited about the idea, she captured the aesthetic so well. She waded through a stream with us for the best angles. We outran park rangers to get those last few shots after the park closed. She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and her random little strikes of inspiration ended up creating some of the BEST pictures. You will not regret hiring her!

Alyssa is absolutely amazing and you should hire her as your photographer! She was kind and polite over the phone, fun to work with on the engagement shoot, and had a completely reasonable rate. Oh, and the photos turned out wonderfully! My fiancee and I are incredibly happy all around. For our engagement photo shoot, Alyssa took my fiancee and I around DUMBO for a mix of iconic and creative shots. Alyssa made us feel comfortable right away, had great ideas for us to try during the shoot, and was great with our dog, who we brought around the neighborhood and had most of our photos with. It was a really fun afternoon! About 2 weeks later, Alyssa emailed us a link of 162 photos, all of which are available online and easy to download right to the hard-drive. We loved the way they turned out. She has a fantastic eye, and a quick finger, because the photos of our dog, who is a bit camera-shy, turned out great (way better than I've been able to do). There was no tacky water-mark in the corner with her logo or anything, just great looking photos. The other thing that is really meaningful is how flexible Alyssa has been with our schedule. Our wedding will be non-traditional, so the day will be a bit wonky in terms of photo opportunities. She understood our unique situation and worked with us. She basically organized her time around our specific needs. Alyssa offers a bespoke experience, which is crucial for us and another reason why we're so happy we went with her. My fiancee and I have only done engagement photos at this point, but we're completely confident the wedding will be 5/5 stars as well.

Alyssa was wonderful! Not only was she super fun to work with and made me (the least photogenic person ever) comfortable, but our pictures are gorgeous! I cannot say enough about our experience and our engagement pictures, I highly recommend her!
