Lighted Path Photography is a wedding photography company located in Avon, MT. Owner of the company Heather McIntosh delights in collaborating with to-be-weds who wish to celebrate their nuptials in scenic Montana. She fuses posed compositions with natural, in-the-moment images to paint a rich and unique canvas of a couple’s special day.
Photographer Heather was raised in the majestic surroundings of her home state of Montana. Immersed in nature and ranch life, she worked as a teacher before pursuing her dream as a visual artist. Capturing the love and excitement of wedding occasions is what motivates this talented individual. She strikes a balance between choreographing photoshoots to ensure optimum backdrops and angles, and observing events as they unfold, catching small and significant details.
Lighted Path Photography offers three wedding packages to prospective newlyweds, the Shooting Star, Bitterroot, and Lupine plans. The first two include engagement sessions, and all include pre-wedding consultations, and full-editing services. With this company, newlyweds can enjoy full printing rights and will receive a flash drive of hundreds of images. Heather can extend her hours, produce beautiful albums, and provide prints for an additional fee.

A Montana girl is what I am! Born and raised in rural, western MT means I love mountains, wildflowers, & ranch life! After growing up on the ranch & teaching school for a few years, I fell in love with photography, & after shooting weddings for a few friends, I made the bold move to start a business--I've not looked back since! Favs in my life include weddings & engagements, Border Collies, reading murder mysteries, moving cows on horseback, and Psalm 119:105, which is the inspiration for my business name. Heather and her work are truly a gift! She made the whole process from engagement photos, to wedding day, to edits and albums SO easy! She has a lot of experience and was our only professional vendor the day of, and was able to help make our day go so smoothly. Not to mention, the photos are STUNNING! We are obsessed! She captured every part of our special day, from the details & decor, to the most important moments and all the guests, smiles, laughs and happy tears in between. She was great at capturing the laid back moments and photos as well as posing us for the more formal ones. Heather is just also a really sweet, fun, kind person who was great to hang out with all day! We cannot recommend enough!!!!

What can I say about Heather?! Other than she is beyond AMAZING! From the 1st message to our wedding, she was so nice and down to earth. She took time to listen to what we wanted and was just fun!! As soon as we got off the video call with her, we knew she was the right one for us! She has made this whole process easy and comfortable. I would recommend her to anyone. I will forever use her for any event I need. 💙💙

Heather is THE BEST photographer to work with. The experience, creativity, and kindness she brought to our wedding allowed for beautiful pictures that I could have only dreamed of! They were everything I wanted and more. She was open and willing to our ideas (including a drive into the mountains after the wedding) while also guiding us as to what would look best. She ran on time all day and took so many pictures, yet I never felt like my whole day involved just standing in front of a camera. She is efficient, so we were able to soak in the day and feel completely present.
Her style of photography and editing is appealing to anyone who likes an elevated natural look. She also doesn’t make you pose all day. And when she does recommend a pose, it is always one where you feel comfortable and natural with your spouse. She was also such a fun, bubbly person to work with. You could tell she genuinely enjoys her job and working with people, which seems rare anymore.
Not only did Heather make our wedding day seamless, she also was punctual and prepared before and after the wedding. She mailed us materials and notes for the day and also did a consult with us, which eased our minds about getting everything done in the short time frame we had. She also sent us some photos the day after our wedding and had our full album (about 1000 pictures!) done in less than a month, all beautifully captured and edited! Additionally, she sent us a beautiful wooden box with a flash drive, five high-quality prints, and a coupon to use towards prints in the album! She knows how to run her business well. She exceeded our expectations in every way and is an incredibly generous person. Thank you Heather for being a part of the biggest day of our lives and making it so enjoyable for us!

Heather was warm, friendly, incredibly flexible and accommodating at every turn, and if that’s not enough, our photos came out BEAUTIFUL. We adored her and her presence was its own blessing on our wedding day, I can’t recommend her enough. Our budget was very limited and I am so blown away by the quality of the pictures she gave us.

We loved our experience with Lighted Path Photography! Very professional and fun to work with. Brought a great energy to the day and worked very hard to make sure our wishes came true. The whole process was very well done and we felt like Heather was very intentional about understanding our desires for the day. She was so helpful throughout the entire process, wish we would've found her earlier in the wedding planning process as she has so much information, ideas and advice to give! Her attention to detail and flexibility was astounding! She also helped capture such gorgeous outdoor photos even with it being one of the coldest days of the year (got to -30°F). So much is to be said about her but definitely recommend lighted path photography every chance I get!

We enjoyed working with Heather so much. She made us feel comfortable and she was very easy going with all the chaos. If you’re worried that you might miss the sunset, with Heather you won’t. She has great time management and will make sure she gets who she needs at the right time! After the wedding she was able to get our pictures to us very quickly. She is consistent and great with communication.

Would highly recommend Heather to anyone. From the fun and relaxing environment of engagement pictures to the pre-wedding meeting to the creativity of the wedding day, we had great experiences with Heather. She is very professional but also put us at ease being in front of the camera. The pictures are beautiful. If you are looking for someone who lets the natural beauty of the picture come through without over-editing, Heather is the person.

Heather is incredible! She helped eliminate so much stress because of how much she helped us plan out our timeline and keep everything moving the day of. I cannot say enough about how helpful it is to have a photographer who knows and is willing to help play that role on the big day. On top of that, she is an amazingly talented photographer! She shot our engagement and wedding, and made everything we wanted come true. The photos we have will be treasured for the rest of our lives and I am so thankful for everything she did. I really cannot say enough good things about Heather and would recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer who is going to go above and beyond in every aspect!

Words cannot express how blessed we were to find a photographer as amazing as Heather! She helped with so much from a timeline to the big day! The pre wedding consultation made everything so much easier to visualize and her natural photos helped show the true beauty of everyone and the wonderful beauty of Montana! We were a destination wedding in Montana, and let me just say her communication with us throughout the entire thing was absolutely amazing! We used Lighted Path for our engagement and wedding day photos and I honestly do not think I can do justice to the wonderful work that Heather does! As someone who hates being photographed she made it seem simple and fun, and the results so far have been stunning!!
Heather has been working with us for over a year, at this point, and has been the first in line to offer time lines and ideas of what I needed to expect and answer so many of my random questions.
She is doing our wedding album, and we have every intention of ordering several memorable prints for our home.

Heather does an amazing job at both photography, and helping you feel comfortable during the photos. She works to get the best lighting, and angles. I loved my engagement photos and wedding photos. She is one of the most affordable photographers that I know, that also has great talent.

There aren’t enough words to possibly describe how happy we are with our wedding photos! Each and every picture Heather took was amazing! It is so hard to pick favorites because they are all so good!
Heather is such a fun-loving soul, and we enjoyed getting to work with her. While we appreciated her friendliness, we also loved her professionalism. She always responded to email inquiries within 24 hours, was very open with her pricing, and kept all her deadlines. On the wedding day, she was calm and collected which made us feel much more confident about her abilities. When the pictures were done being edited, we were even more impressed with her!
We would recommend Heather to anybody without hesitation!

Heather’s work was able to capture so many special moments and raw emotions throughout our special day. I am so impressed with all our photos it was so hard to narrow them down. Heather is the best, we’re one hundred and ten percent satisfied! I was fortunate to have found her through a personal recommendation. We were able to pick a package that suited us, we chose the engagement/ wedding package. Heather was willing to meet us about an hour out of her way to take our engagement photos which I have hung up in my house. I love how they turned out we battled summer heat and smoke during, you would never know from what she captured. As for our wedding you will not find someone more organized and professional. Her experience and know how is well worth every penny. Helped me frame out my day what my expectations and wants were. Also having to deal with my rowdy groomsman, mosquitoes and over a hundred degree heat she was a champ. So thankful for lighted path for capturing our special day. Please book lighted path, she’s a Montanan through and through. So you know your wedding dollars will go toward a local hard working gal you won’t regret it.

We absolutely loved Heather with Lighted Path Photography! She shot our engagement photos and our wedding, both of which we were very happy with. Lighted Path is extremely organized, loves what they do which shows much love in their customer service, and is worth every penny! Heather knows her lighting, backdrops, fun shots and really gets to know her customers. Not only does Lighted Path have excellent personalities to work with, they have very reasonable prices and hasn't switched over to what many have, which in my opinion is price gouging. We had 16 bridesmaids, 3 flower girls, 8 groomsmen and a ring bearer! We were a lot, but Lighted Path nailed it! Thank you so much!

Heather is very personable and makes being in front of the camera feel natural. She is extremely nice and was such good company to have on our special day. Not only is she a great person but her work is amazing also. We’ve absolutely loved all of our photos we’ve gotten from her, and will continue to use her for our photo needs in the future.

Heather is amazing! She is so organized and can make anyone smile! She is incredible at capturing the perfect moments and helping you with your big day. From engagement photos to wedding photos, she is there to help every step of the way. She is so quick on getting back to you with any and every question and has plenty of advice to offer.
She was awesome with the pre wedding consultation. She walked us through a typical day and had plenty of portfolios to show us so our day could be exactly what we wanted!
We paid for a second camera and have zero regrets about it- her helper Haven was so friendly and was also amazing at keeping the smiles rolling all day.
They were great about sticking to our timeline and helping the night flow!
I love that her photos aren’t over edited! 10 out of 10 recommend Light Path Photography!

Heather was absolutely fabulous! Any events we have in the future hat we need photographed she will be the first one we call. She showed up on time to all our meetings was friendly and flexible and got an awesome combination of gorgeous formal pictures and captured some great goofy moments. We still have family members asking for copies of pictures and talking about how pretty they are. Of all of the things I spent money on during my wedding I’m glad I splurged a little here.
