I contacted them for services on-site for my wedding (only about 5 minutes away from the salon) and they said they usually don’t do on-site but would accommodate me and even told m...
e the names of the woman who would be available to come do my hair. After that I repeatedly tried to email them again to inquire about signing a contract and no one ever responded. I had to get another vendor last minute because they ghosted me.
I had the BEST experience with Lighten Up Salon. From the moment I inquired, Danielle, my point person, was fantastic. So sweet, reassuring, and organized. My trial with Dee made m...
e SO confident and comfortable for the wedding day. A few weeks before the wedding, I decided I wanted to change my hairdo. I sent Danielle a bunch of photos to share with Dee, and on the day of, she consulted them once more, we chatted through what I was looking for, and she executed it PERFECTLY! The trial made me so confident in her abilities and our understanding of each other that despite changing the style, I knew she would crush the style, which she did. She is so easy to chat with and consulted me every step of the way. My bridesmaids, mom, and some wedding guests also had their hair done at this salon, and everyone looked GREAT and was so excited about their styles. Most effortless part of the getting ready process by far.
Danielle and Kendal were absolute sweethearts! By the time I arrived, they had their stations set up and continually checked on us to ensure we were happy with our looks and touche...
d up our hair and make up before departing! The staff at Lighten Up have always been extremely kind and accommodating and I can’t wait to go back!
Was just looking at wedding pictures and was reminded how my hair turned out. Figured I'd finally write a review. I had my hair and make up done by Tamana. My trail went very well ...
at the salon. I explain how my hair does not hold a curl well when booking the apt and when I first met Tamana. During my trial she used hot curlers to set my hair, did my make up, then finished my hair. My hair held for the rest of the day and looked great. I was happy with the make up as well so I booked her for my wedding, for an onsite.
The day of the wedding did not go as I expected. She did not set my hair with curlers, even after I reminded her. I think she did not bring them. She did not have notes on what we did at the trail for my hair or make up, the only reason she was able to redo anything was because I took pictures from the trial. The point of a trial is not just to know if you are happy with the stylist, but so the stylist can note what to do the day of. She did not do her job in that case.
She claimed she could not stay till the florist arrived with my hair piece only 2 hours after she had arrive. No where in the contract was there a 2 hour time limit. She was the first stylist to leave, she did not leave me with any extra product to reapply for later, and my hair was flat and frizzy before my ceremony.
Like I said, the trial went really well, but there was no follow through.
Lighten Up made setting up my hair & makeup trial and day-of services so easy. For my wedding day I had all my girls and myself getting hair and makeup done; the scheduling was pe...
rfect and everyone got their services done on time and they looked gorgeous! Everyone at the salon was friendly and listened to what I wanted to look like. The makeup was also good quality; I had it applied at 11 AM and it still looked great at 9 PM!
I cannot say enough about Lighten Up Salon & Spa. I usually get my haircut and highlighted by Tamana - who is wonderful. For my wedding I had Missy and Dee come to the Poconos to d...
o hair and make-up for my wedding. They did mine as well as my bridal party and everyone LOVED their work. We were so pleased with our hair and make-up. Missy and Dee are so friendly, easy to talk to and professional. I felt at ease the moment I met them at my make-up and hair trial at the salon. I would highly recommend Missy and Dee for wedding make-up and hair!
I was recommended Lighten Up Salon & Spa by my sister who had heard great things about them. As I was only 3 weeks from my wedding and had not booked a trial hair & makeup anywhere...
yet (though I reached out to several places and never was contacted back) so I decided to see if I could book a trial with Lighten Up. Upon entering the salon, I was a little hesitant because it was very loud and seemed like any other place I would go for just a haircut. I was very happily mistaken. My hair stylist, Laureen, was very patient with me; I didn't really have a set vision of what I wanted my hair to look like. She tried several different styles til I was 100% satisfied. I was then whisked off to makeup, where Megan gave me the perfect balance of natural/ not too dramatic makeup.
On the day of the wedding, my four bridesmaids and my mother had both their hair and makeup done as well. Everything was very well organized and we actually were all finished ahead of schedule.
