Alan and Lighter Focus Photography are amazing! If you are looking for the best wedding photographer out there, look no further! My husband doesn’t love taking pictures and was dreading engagement/wedding photos…until we had our engagement session with Alan. We left the session and both of us actually couldn’t stop talking about how much fun we had and how comfortable Alan made us feel! Our wedding day was no different! Alan made everyone feel comfortable during every special, emotion filled moment of the day. I threw a few last minute asks at him (sparklers & confetti) and he didn’t bat an eye. Beyond his photography, Alan himself is just an amazing human being. We are so thankful for him and will forever cherish the memories we have of our day because of him. I cannot recommend him enough for your wedding day.

Absolutely blown away by the incredible work from Alan! Alan is hands down the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. He made my husband and I feel so comfortable during all our photos. He has a true eye for photography and captures amazing shots. We were blown away with his vision. Not only is he talented but also very attentive. It was very cold while taking our wedding photos and he gave me his suit jacket to stay warm every time I wasn’t needed in a photo. He worked extremely well with our other vendors and always asked if we needed anything during the day. I couldn’t recommend Lighter Focus enough. So happy we chose him to capture our favorite day!!

I cannot tell you how glad we are that Alan shot our special day! He is an artist with his camera, and is also friendly, personable, and is good with families; you don't always find that combination! Our venue was beautiful and Alan really knew how to take advantage of the surroundings in our pictures. I also especially love some of the candid shots he got when we weren't looking. I've always had a deep appreciation for how a photograph can encapsulate a moment, and that's why, for me, choosing the right photographer was non-negotiable. I embarked on an exhaustive search for the perfect photographer. I even considered professionals from out of state before I stumbled upon Lighter Focus Photography. What caught my attention immediately was the consistent stream of 5-star reviews from their clients. With my shortlist narrowed down to three photographers, I began reaching out to those who had experienced their artistry firsthand. My first interaction with Alan, the creative genius behind Lighter Focus Photography, occurred during our engagement session. Prior to this, we had exchanged numerous emails and spoken over the phone. Alan's preparation was evident from the start. He asked all the right questions, ensuring he understood our vision and any special requests. His recommendations on what to bring and what not to bring were invaluable. Even though the location we selected for our engagement photos was unfamiliar to him, Alan's innovative ideas transformed it into the perfect backdrop, yielding my all-time favorite shots. Alan's approachable and accommodating nature made working with him a breeze. His sense of humor added an element of fun to every interaction. Beyond his talents as a photographer, he's simply an awesome person to have by your side on your wedding day. When unexpected hiccups occurred, Alan was quick on his feet with a plethora of solutions. During our bridal party photos, disaster struck as the strap of my dress snapped. Before I could even process what had happened, Alan had dashed to his bag, retrieved a mini sewing kit, and expertly mended my strap, seamlessly saving the day. Some may have perceived him as 'demanding' at times, but we understood that his drive was fueled by his determination to capture the best moments efficiently. This allowed my groom and me to return to the reception and savor our wedding day to the fullest. In summary, Lighter Focus Photography not only met but exceeded my lofty expectations. Alan is absolutely incredible, far beyond the pictures. He is a great person and amazing to work with. He answered any questions we had & accommodated anything we needed on our wedding day with grace. He wastes no time, and goes out of his way to capture moments. What I love most is the effort he puts in to get unique & personal shots all throughout the day. My husband & I had a blast working with him! Alan was awesome! He really helped the day run smoothly. I was so stressed, but he took a lot of the directing out of my hands. I don't think I noticed him at all during the ceremony or reception except when it was a staged photo. All the photos, portraits and candids, are incredibly beautiful! Seriously so professional and great to work with. My husband and I booked him for his creative style and were not in the least disappointed!

I was very particular in looking for a wedding photographer, as I've photographed a few weddings myself. I wanted to hire someone who was FAR more skilled than me, so I would not have to worry about it during the wedding day or end up wishing things had been done differently later. After having Alan photograph our wedding, the only thing we wish we would've done differently now is hire him sooner! Alan was a blast to have around, super professional, and beyond creative. He has a vibrant style of photography that is timeless while still being unique. It has been nearly 4 months from our wedding day, and we still have friends and relatives expressing to us that we have some of the most gorgeous wedding photos they have seen! We are so happy to have such beautifully captured memories to look back on for years to come.

Wow! He was absolutely amazing. First off, I would like to mention how professional, punctual, and comedic he was. He made taking pictures outside on a good and humid day fun with his comedy and worth the while with his amazing pictures. If I could give Alan and his father more stars I would. Alan is hands down amazing. He worked with us in 2020 when we had to postpone our wedding (and then last minute decided to throw together a small one.. on a boat, in a storm with crazy wind). He was also always enthusiastic about photographing our 2021 wedding... and hands down amazing at shooting our boat engagement session. I am so grateful to have had him as our photographer. From the start of our wedding planning, Alan made us feel comfortable by helping us plan out our schedule and when to take certain pictures throughout the day. When COVID made us reschedule our wedding, Alan adjusted with ease. On the day of, Alan and his partner, Ben, were AMAZING! They got all the specific shots we had requested, and their natural skill and creativity took care of everything else. When it was time to take pictures with larger groups of people, they coordinated our family and the wedding party in a timely manner and with a great attitude. They always did everything they could to alleviate any stress on us throughout the day.  After the wedding, we knew that they had tons of great photos, so we were anxious to get them back. Alan was quick and gave us a sneak peek before sending over all the photos from the day. Alan and Ben captured every special moment from our wedding and they were everything we had hoped for. There were a few minor edits we requested and Alan did them in a timely manner without hesitation. They communicated well, made the process very easy for us, and we had such a fun time working with them! We are so thankful for everything they did and would highly recommend them for capturing your wedding!

I can be shy and awkward around new people, but Alan made us SO comfortable on our wedding day! He was so easy to work with and we were blown away by his work. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

Alan and his dad were AMAZING! Having a great photographer at our wedding was one of the most important things to me! Pictures (and your spouse lol) are the only things that you will have forever once the wedding is over. Lighter Focus not only gave us incredible pictures, but were a blast to work with! Our wedding photos turned out more beautiful,unique and perfect then we could have ever imagined. They even went the extra mile and drove my husband and I to our photo spot (30 minutes away) after our ceremony to make sure we would get all of our photos taken when our limo transportation had fallen through! I can't recommend these guys enough!

Alan shot both our engagement photos and our wedding day. He shot by himself on our wedding day but we have so many great angles and photos that it looks as if we had multiple photographers. Absolutely loved using Lighter Focus and they’re worth every penny. I’m very self-conscious about how I look so when it came to photography, I knew that good talent was key! Lighter Focus delivered and I am seriously in love with my photographs. Josh and Alan split up the daily duties and were so flexible with what we were looking for. Any ideas we had with photos they were all “no worries” and made it work. They were fun, laid back, had fun and really coordinated with our other venders. Lighter Focus were team players making sure everyone could do their best work. The talent of these two is beyond amazing, catching everything from action to posed, and if you can book Lighter Focus for your wedding, please do!! Also, the fact that you buy the copyright with your package is a huge value! We will return to Lighter Focus for future services.

I cannot even begin to give credit where credit is due. In my opinion, these guys have underpriced themselves, so sign a contract with them before they fully realize it! I only had one photographer, Josh. I was a little bummed when I first contacted them that two weren't available, but seriously- I don't think we needed it. We have SO many great pictures to work with. Josh met with my mom and I beforehand, was fun, patient, and easy to work with. That day, in 100-degree weather, he kept everyone moving and did a great job of directing us while also allowing for some flexibility on anything specific we wanted to do. I'm most likely going to bug him in the future for family pictures, etc.

Lighter focus was awesome to work with, they were easy to get a hold of, photos were fantastic, and they are very creative! Sunset pictures were amazing!

These photographers do a fantastic job at an exceptional rate. They even give you all the pictures on a cd with copy right release! They were a blast to work with and we love our pictures very much! I am absolutely thrilled with our pictures from Lighter Focus Photography. Those guys did an amazing job capturing our special day. They have angles, lighting, and envisions that I would never have dreamed of. The only negative I have from this experience (which I could have prevented if I hadn't had "Bride Brain" that day) was that now looking at the pictures there are a few we wish we would have gotten, important ones like the groom with his groomsmen..I wish they would have caught that they hadn't gotten that shot as it was on the list of pictures they were supposed to take. But aside from that,I would still definitely recommend them to anyone wanting outstanding shots at an affordable rate!
