Lilac and Sage Studio is a full-service wedding florist based in Loveland, CO. The floral minimum is only in place May-October. There is no minimum spending requirement for weddings that take place from November to April. We take weddings year-round! If you choose to have an intimate elopement in the mountains, no problem! All elopements have an order minimum.
Kelly James, owner and talented floral designer, is passionate about her craft and the beauty of the natural world. She is head-over-heels about the possibility of bringing your wedding venue to life through the spectacular nature of beautiful blooms.
Kelly felt as if she was destined to work in the floral industry as both her parents were involved with similar professions. After graduating from a floral design program, this expert decided to dive right in and gain as much experience as she could. Over half a decade later, Kelly is the proud owner of Lilac and Sage Studio and doing something she is innately talented in and passionate about.

I was scrolling through degree programs during the beginning of my sophomore year of my journalism degree. I felt bored and stuck, dreading my upcoming media exam. Scrolling...scrolling... I stumbled upon a floral design program, and felt a fire light inside of me. I immediately un-enrolled for all of my journalism courses and got on a waitlist for the floral design program. 8 years later, and here we are! I love blending an art form with nature. I love immersing myself in design and color. I love bringing my clients joy on such a special day. I love what I do and can't wait to meet with you!

Kelly brought my vision to life beyond my wildest dreams. She transformed our space into a true winter wonderland, elevating every corner with florals that had guests constantly commenting on how stunning they were. From my bridal bouquet (which was absolutely perfect and incorporated the exact colors I hoped for) to the whiskey barrels, cocktail hour tables, sweetheart table, ceremony pergola, “in loving memory” table, and all guest and wedding party tables—every detail was executed flawlessly.

helpful and the final result was better than I ever could have imagined. The bright florals were a hit with not only me and my bridesmaids, but we received compliments for days following the event.
Her team did an amazing job setting up greenery as the backdrop to our ceremony and even helped attach a special item to my bridal bouquet at the last minute.
We also loved that we were able to be a little more sustainable with Lilac and Sage. We were able to rent plants and plant stands for our ceremony which was such a unique touch. We were also able to rent the bud vases on our tables which cut back on our after-wedding waste. I can't wait for the next opportunity to work with Kelly and the rest of her team!

ors and Kelly had the best value for her stunning and over-the-top work.
With her mood boards, transparency, and quick communication, I was able to see the vision and exactly what to expect. She even was able to procure wine barrels to rent for my ceremony, which she previously did not have.
As my wedding approached, Kelly was on-time with deadlines and reached out to me for final details meetings! She was extremely personable at details meetings and allowed me to see pine options for my arrangements in person!
On wedding day Kelly arrived with unimaginable bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and arrangements for my ceremony. They were larger than my expectations and remarkable. She arrived on time for delivery, and had all of the essentials with everything labeled and organized!
The rented barrels were also moved in and out swiftly and seamlessly just for my ceremony!
Post-wedding Kelly also gave me recommendations for preservation and how to best get my florals there!
I cannot recommend Kelly and the Lilac and Sage team enough!

She quickly helped us define our flower layouts based on our color scheme, and did a great job listening to our wants while also offering great suggestions. The real proof of professionalism was the audibles she called during our big day. We had crazy weather for an outdoor ceremony, and not only did the arrangements hold for the duration of the ceremony, but she was still able to creatively repurpose all our outdoor arrangements for indoor decorations during our reception. Oh and all of this was done behind the scenes so we could just enjoy the moment. Hire them ASAP!

Kelly had two challenges for our wedding: our budget and our color palette, which was non-traditional, to say the least: We didn't want any white or soft pastels. We wanted vibrant...
blooms, in blues, oranges and a splash of yellow, with lots of greenery. We also wanted to bring the feeling of a spring landscape indoors. So lots of big hopes and not a lot of money. Kelly worked wonders within the constraints. My bouquet was even better than I hoped -- vivid and celebratory (and gorgeous against my deep green dress). My husband's pocket square was a work of art, as were the boutonnieres and wrist corsages for our family members. She also decorated the wall behind the ceremony with beautiful foliage, bringing the springtime in. She was a delight to work with -- flexible in her approach and attentive to input. We heartily recommend!

basically says, "Sure, no problem," to everything!! When I sent her pictures and described to her what I wanted - she did EXACTLY that. She also split up my invoices and worked with my Mom, out of state, for partial payment - she made it all stress free for me. She has her business down and knows how to provide a Bride with exactly what they need to avoid any and all stress relating to flowers! Side bar: When I reached out to other florists in Loveland, CO; none of them wanted to meet with me because I wasn't spending $3,500 or more. Kelly did NOT do that. She replied promptly and asked when I would like to meet. Love you Kelly!!

ommunicative during the consultation process, and understood my vision so perfectly. Out of every vendor I worked with for the wedding, Kelly was the one I trusted completely.
She created some of the most stunning floral arrangements I have ever seen. I received so many comments on the gorgeous mantlepiece arrangement and my bouquet. Pictures don't do them justice. And it wasn't just the florals, but having Kelly manage all the candles, vases, and small items on the reception tables was a lifesaver.
Last but certainly not least - Kelly and her assistant arrived before the ceremony to set up, converted the ceremony space to the reception, and returned at the end of the evening for strike. I didn't have to worry about -anything- at all.
I cannot thank her enough for her amazing work, or recommend her highly enough.

got quotes from. Then when I actually saw the pieces she created, I was astonished at how lush and beautiful the arrangements were! Our invisible arch was stunning and the flowers around the cake were beautiful. I loved my bouquet too! I really only said something along the lines of "I'm fine with greenery and white flowers, doesn't have to be over the top" thinking that I wanted to save money, but was absolutely amazed with what she was able to do! I planned our whole wedding in Colorado from Ohio, so I didn't even meet in person or see anything. The whole process was really seamless and easy! I would highly recommend Lilac and Sage Studio!

Kelly did a great job communicating with us up until the wedding and even helped place flowers on our cake. The bouquets were not just stunning, they were works of art!

Kelly provided all of the rentals needed to bring my centerpieces to life at a very reasonable price and saved me the time and money of having to go out and buy those items myself. She and her team did an amazing job of setting up on the day of the wedding and I truly almost burst into tears when I saw my bouquet. Kelly was always prompt with responding to emails and questions I had. Flowers can drastically change the way a wedding feels and mine was an absolute dream come true thanks to sweet Kelly.
