We chose Linden Hill because the property is beautiful and we loved the overall look and feel of the venue. After having our wedding there, though, I have a few things I think futu...
re couples should know.
The grounds were not as well maintained as we expected. There were areas that looked overgrown and not as well kept, which was disappointing because the grounds are such a major part of what makes Linden Hill appealing.
There is also a lot that falls on the couple when it comes to planning and providing items for the wedding. The venue does not supply many things you may expect, so there is a significant amount of coordinating, purchasing, bringing in items, and planning that you need to account for.
The alcohol situation is also something I would make sure you fully understand before booking. The venue orders the alcohol for you, but the selections they offer are fairly limited and, in our experience, did not include many of the common options guests typically request. You are also responsible for purchasing anything that is ordered but not consumed, so this is something to budget and plan for carefully.
Another thing to be very aware of is the venue’s rules and fines. You are responsible for your guests, and there are heavy fines for violations. Staff are very attentive to the rules and actively monitor for infractions, even relatively small ones. With a large wedding, keeping track of every guest and every rule can become an added source of stress.
We also had some issues with things that were discussed beforehand not being followed through on the wedding day, including aspects of the setup and timeline, as well as an issue with the sound during our ceremony.
Personally, I think Linden Hill could be a great venue for a smaller, more intimate wedding where there are fewer moving pieces and fewer guests to manage. For a large wedding, however, I found the amount of responsibility placed on the couple, combined with the strict rules and limited included services, to be much more difficult to manage.
The venue has a beautiful setting and a lot of potential, but I would strongly recommend going into the booking process knowing exactly what is included, what you will be responsible for, the alcohol policies, and the potential fines before making your decision.
I could not be happier with my experience having my wedding at Linden Hill. Angela and Julia were amazing to work with, extremely accommodating, and I truly felt they cared about u...
s and were as invested in everything going well as I was. The ceremony on the lower grounds was gorgeous, and after the reception on the upper grounds I got so many compliments, my favorite being "the whole thing was like a fairytale." We also loved having rehearsal dinner in the Musser mansion, as well as letting guests explore the bottom floor. It was a very DIY venue, but with a ton of flexibility and endless options for spaces, vendors, etc. Linden Hill was instrumental in giving me my dream wedding and I can't recommend it enough.
We got married at Linden Hill Estate in Little Falls on 9/17/22. It was truly the most beautiful day. I know every couple probably says that their wedding was perfect...but ours ab...
solutely was. We got married on the lower grounds by the Mississippi River. Just gorgeous. We loved how we could rent out the entire house and grounds for a whole weekend. We had plenty of time to set up everything and my wedding party loved being able to stay overnight and get ready in the home itself. Besides just being a gorgeous venue, I love the history behind Linden Hill. Most importantly, I look forward to the many years to come, so we can go stand in the spot that we got married in and remember the best day of our lives as a couple. Angela and Julia were incredible, and answered my 10,000 questions along the way. They were so kind and patient, and they truly feel like friends now. We are so, so happy that we decided to go with Linden Hill, and we have heard nothing but wonderful things about our wedding from guests! If you aren't a DIY person, I would recommend having a wedding coordinator to help plan your day! Linden also has some great packages that include chairs, tables, electronic equipment, etc, so make sure to check into this before renting additional things! I will forever share about how perfect our day was, and am just in awe at how smoothly it went. Such a beautiful, historic setting for a wedding you won't ever forget.
We had attended a wedding here in 2016 and it was one of the best weddings we have ever attended. When we were planning our own wedding for Fall 2018, we knew we also wanted to get...
married at Linden Hill. We had both our ceremony and reception here and loved that we were able to make it completely our own. This venue can cater to a wide range of budgets as it is completely DIY. You pay for the mansion and the grounds and you bring in everything else yourself. We chose to rent the Mansion Thursday - Sunday, allowing us plenty of time to be with family and friends and we were so happy to be able to extend the wedding festivities beyond the wedding day/night. It also added a lot of convenience on our end to have the all festivities in one place, including the rehearsal dinner, to not have to rent out multiple spaces. The staff was very responsive/helpful and they were even available to answer our questions we had over the weekend, even though no Linden Hill staff were onsite. The grounds are well taken care of (all done by members of the community!) and provided us with several options for photos. Overall, very pleased and would highly recommend!
My husband and I got married here 9/2/2017 and it was such a wonderful and mindblowing experience that you don't get when you book a regular venue.
We stayed at the mansion with...
our immediate family and wedding party. We were given such a once in a lifetime opportunity to bond and create lasting memories together for the entire weekend that you just don't get when you book a hotel block. We cooked together and stayed up late chatting in the music room and our families were truly able to bond.
Our wedding was magical, but the day went by so quickly that I barely remember it! Being able to stay at the mansion with our family for the whole weekend and host them to share our appreciation and love to them is what I remember and cherish most.
Linden Hill Mansion was a beautiful place to host our wedding. We had the ceremony and the reception in the same place-which was great because we had a lot of out of town visitors....
We were able to stay in the white mansion for the weekend which made for a fun and beautiful wedding weekend! This is a place for a DIY style wedding because they do not offer much more then the grounds, but it is worth it! Lots of local vendors to choose from to support you wedding, and a summer wedding in Minnesota? Beautiful! This place is great for a vintage wedding.
