In the crazy world of trying to plan a wedding, there's no better place to begin than the Lindley Scott House. Diane always took such great care of us - walking me through my endl...
ess questions, giving us helpful pointers, and adding such a kind touch to an industry that can seem so cold. Everything you could ever need is included - food, which we got SO MANY compliments on, a good amount of parking, tables, chairs, a day of coordinator and the cake from Some Crust bakery in Claremont. What's even more surprising was that this was one of the most affordable venues we looked at. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and even in our mid-July wedding, everyone stayed cool under the shade of the beautiful oak trees for the ceremony. So all I can really say is thank you - thank you Diane and your entire family for making our wedding a day we'll never forget. The Lindley Scott House and its team will always hold a special place in my heart.
Diane cancelled my reception date and kept our money. My wedding date did not change, we did not want a different date. She broke our contract and kept our money. After contacting ...
Better Business Bureau (whom she ignored) she offered to refund us after they were back to normal business. She's never reached out or refunded our money as she said she would. She's a theif and a liar, and my new bride and I are out 5k. Stay away from this shady place. If Diane makes good in her promise I'll remove this review. Until then, be warned!
I absolutely LOVED this venue!!! My husband and I initially wanted to get married in May of 2021 but because of covid we decided to postpone until November of 2021. The venue was e...
xtremely accommodating to this. No hassle or issues with them. Working with Diane was an absolute blast! She is very responsive and one the the sweetest people I've gotten to work with while planning my wedding. I must have asked her a million questions and she answered every one.
The venue itself is gorgeous. I myself attended APU (which is across the street from the venue) for 4 years and I never even knew the place existed! It's as gorgeous as the photos. It really is like stepping in to another world when you enter the property.
The bridal suite is gorgeous and roomy. The staircase is lovely. The staff are very friendly and nice.
The ceremony area has lots of shade provided by a few large trees.
The reception hall is roomy and while still being comfortable and roomy. (we had just under 100 guests). The food was very good as well for the reception.
My husband and I were planning and paying for our wedding ourselves and we were worried we wouldn't be able to find a place that we liked within our budget. I was beyond pleasantly surprised with this place. It is very reasonably priced and it comes with many perks :).
I cannot say how happy I am that we found this place! Not only was the house and reception hall beautiful, but also the grounds. The only thing you probably have to be ok with is the color yellow :D.
Love LOVE LOVE!
Amazing private Venue! Plenty is included in the cost compared to other venues
Our experience since day one was absolutely amazing. Every question I had was answered promptly and I really had no issues with the service. The ceremony and reception couldn’t be ...
more perfect. All of our guest was complimenting on how much they enjoyed our special day. I have nothing but good things to say about the Lindley Scott house. There is not one thing I would change.
I can’t even begin to gush enough about this amazing venue. From start to finish my husband and I loved working with them. Diane is an absolute gem. Everyone was so organized, very...
accommodating and flexible, and gave us the most perfect wedding we could ask for. The food was absolutely amazing (we did chicken and Tri-tip). The bakery they work with also went above and beyond for us. The natural light in this venue is to die for. I would recommend the Lindley Scott house 1000 times over.

rning of our wedding a massive storm began and we were devastated that our outdoor ceremony we had planned would probably have to change and be moved indoors! However Diane and her husband George were on top of it. They set up the ceremony outside and covered everything up for us in the hope that if the storm cleared we could still have our outdoor ceremony we were dreaming of. They were so helpful and prepared. The rain cleared about 45 minutes before our ceremony was to begin and they let me choose if I wanted to go for it or change our plan and we went for it! They got everything set up perfect beyond my imagination with in 30 minutes and we had the most BEAUTIFUL ceremony I could have dreamed of. The food was so delicious, everyone loved it. The venue is stunning and the people were so great to work with Scotty and Emily were our wedding coordinators for the day provided by the venue. They were so attentive, helpful, kept everything running smoothly and on time. I felt so beyond blessed to have such wonderful people help us put together the best day of our lives. I recommend The Lindley Scott House to everyone!
This venue is GORGEOUS!!! You cannot hear the outside world, the flowers are colorful, and the oak trees we were married under look romantic in photos. Diane was on top of things, ...
always made sure to answer my emails within two hours, and made sure our day was perfect. I highly suggest you book this place!
This venue is a hidden gem. It's a beautiful and peaceful garden setting with indoor reception area. Diane and George are very both very experienced and pleasant to work with!
Nice combo of outdoor gardens and indoor reception area. Food was better than expected. I wish they do food tasting so we actually know how the food tastes before the big day and a...
llay any doubts beforehand. I also wish they would just provide the cake cutting set. Mine was put away at clean up and we had to email them to find out that they had it and to get it back. There's no designated changing area for the bridal party inside the reception house. They convert the handicap restroom stall for the bride and groom in the respective men's/women's restroom. I have heard from some guests parking was hard to find. Overall I like the no venue fee, and I think everybody had a great time.

ness representative was absolutely marvelous and accommodating. The ultimate outcome was exactly what we had in mind: a wonderful reception, a classy and inviting place, plenty of secured parking, marvelous food. Diane and George made sure that everything we required was met. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that wants to have and unforgettable experience. Thank you Diane and George. Sincerely, Marco A. Morejon.
My wife and I shopped around for quite some time for our wedding venue. We finally decided on the Lindley-Scott House (LSH), and I could not be happier in our choice!! The grounds ...
are beautiful (the manicured lawns, the trees, the flowers, the gazebo, the house, the hall), and best of all – they are all yours! This is not some hall in a hotel where your wedding will have the neighboring wedding do the conga line right through your cake cutting!!
The ambiance at LSH house is perfect. It is romantic, bright with lots of windows, the walls and carpet are neutral enough to go with any décor, and the outside areas are stunning! You guests will love being able to go outside to get some fresh air. They can sit on one of the many benches, stroll through the gardens, or sit in the lit gazeebo.
We were absolutely blown away by the staff at the LSH on the day of our wedding. Everyone was very professional. Amanda, the team lead at LSH, is amazing. All staff members went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. We had passed appetizers, which were a big hit. Staff members came and took drink orders from us and our wedding party as we took pictures. They even brought us some appetizers, which was very thoughtful. Dinner service was incredibly smooth. All food came out timely, and drinks were kept full. All-in-all the staff at LSH should be commended on their excellent job, we could not have been more pleased!! We opted for an open bar at the reception (which is a phenomenal value at LSH). As the bride and groom, we did not have reason to go to the bar. However, several guests commented to us about how “bad ass” our bartender was – so we had to go see for ourselves. We were not disappointed! This was one awesome, mean drink making guy!
The food at LSH was great. Our guests raved over the fish and fillet. Everything was cooked as requested, served hot, and full of flavor! The portions were more than generous. Your guests will not leave hungry.
LSH is a great choice for wedding venue for both quality and value. When shopping for venues we were struck by how ridiculous some venues were priced. LSH gives you the perfect mix of upscale at a reasonable price.
And best of all, the owners Diane and George are a hoot. Seriously, Diane is a little fire-cracker and it is a pleasure to have worked with her. She is professional, prompt, and fair. From our first meeting with Diane up until our wedding day, she was always there to provide any help or advice we needed. She answered many questions, provided helpful advice, and helped ease my sometimes worried bride.
We are so happy to have chosen LSH as our wedding venue. It is the perfect backdrop for pictures that you will warmly look back on for decades to come with memories of a magical night. When shopping for your wedding venue, make sure to call Diane at LSH!
Part 2: I'm sorry i'm cheating in signing for another account but it must be finished. The time continued and when 3pm hit. No workers could be found. We could not get into the hou...
se. Amanda finally showed up at 3:15pm. Late. Basically: Room beautiful, lack light, broken sink. Ceremony: Organist sucked even after we paid for music sheets for him. Now it's 6:30pm. No coordinator to be seen, only two VERY VERY nice young workers were there to talk to us. Now remember when we said we wanted our salad to be served at 6:30 before the slideshow? Our salad was served after our dance, which was 7pm. A delay is the worst thing that can possibly happen on your wedding day. Cause that just means everything else gets more and more pushed backed. We was going to make our toast when dinner was served at 7, but dinner wasn't served 7:40pm. Lots of awkwardness and waste of time during this time. AGAIN, lack of staffs and couldn't find our "coordinator". Dinner came out cold and late. No wonder Lindley-Scott house doesn't offer food tasting, cause it sucked. The meat was DRY and cold. We choose tri-tip, a more expensive selection. That was a mistake. We ended up barely eating anything cause it was disgusting and we didn't have time at all. It is now 8pm, time for my first outfit changed. And headed to the main house to change as said so in our contract. NO ONE was there to open our door. Took another 10 minutes to find Amanda to open our door. Waste of time again. We forsake all faith that the room will be opened at 9pm (as stated in our contract) changed in the BATHROOM into my traditional Chinese wedding dress on my wedding day. Cake time! You would think this is our saving grace. The cake tasting was amazing. I loved it. But this place also fooled us. Probably since they have a working deal with the Scott house, that our cake was not as amazing as all the Yelp reviews made it to be. The color was a disturbing YELLOW and GRAY not gold and silver. It had disgusting pimple looking dots all over it. Didn't even come close to the pictures we showed them. I was horrified when I saw it. You can read my future review on Some Crust Bakery for more details. But how does this affect the Scott house? Easy. We did our cake cutting at 9:15pm. The cake wasn't cut by the staff until 10. We end our wedding at 10:30. Most people left by this time already. So luckily hardly anyone ate this disgusting cake. But my question is, why was the servings so damn small, ugly, and messy? We had 100 people, the cake was three tiers. Some Crust Bakery said that they would remake our top layer for our anniversary, so that there was no reason to save it. But the Scott house did it anyways. Do they not even bother coordinating with their OWN vendors? SO much wasted cake. Literally, nothing could have gotten worse at this point. To tell you the truth, I was not angry when I left on my wedding day and I have no ill intent for Diane, Amanda, or any other staff. I am just trying to give you the truth in my experience. To everyone who is reading this review I wish you the best of luck. Don't expect the things Scott house offers will be professional. Get your own coordinator, organist, and cake. The Scott house has so many rules and regulations that you would think you were at a high end country club with snobby people. If you still decide to choose the Scott house after this review, then please realize that you should only choose it for the view and not the services.

Part 1:
Dear Lindley-Scott House,
My wedding was amazing, but it was no thanks to you. I do not even know where to start on describing how disappointed I am in you guys. Be pre...
pared for a long winded review.
First of all, I feel gypped. When we were first saw the Scott house, I was in love by the house and the sweet words Diane gave us. I felt more relaxed with her and had nothing but faith in her abilities to make my wedding amazing. She was accommodating with my requests and told me the times the bridal room could be used. Once when it first opened, another time at 8pm and lastly at 9pm. When we left the place, my fiancé (at the time) knew that I would not settle for any other place even if the price was out of our range.
Diane was sweet at first but after we paid everything off in full. She called a week to confirm the seating chart and rehearsal time. I sent her exact number of people at each table. I wanted fewer seats at some tables for more elbow room. When I arrived, there was still 10 seats at each table.
The rehearsal was then taken over by Amanda. We reviewed the times of the bridal room being used and the times we were allowed to enter to set up 12pm since we had paid for an EXTRA hour to come in early. Due to our VERY TIGHT schedule, my fiancé specifically told her that we needed to move up our dinner time table. Salad would be served at 6:30pm before the bridal party entered and while the guests watches the slide show. Then when we were done with our first dance and parent dance, we would immediately start dinner at 7pm. Everything was "No problem" or "OK" according to her. Fooled me twice now but let me get into that later.
Day of the event, we came at 12:30pm to start our setup (as stated in our contract). We were informed that Diane had an appointment at 1pm in the carriage house DURING our setup. How unprofessional that you would setup a meeting with another couple during OUR time that we paid for? She then EMBARRASSED US in front of the new couple. Me and my fiancé had decided to practice our first dance on the dance floor as trial. In front of the new couple, she told us that we were not allowed to practice or have pictures taken. According to her, we didn’t PAY for this and this time was only a setup time. But what really made me mad was that she told the new couple quite clearly that she didn't even know WHY we were there. Like it was OUR mistake for being there. Then left without saying a word. Never to be seen again. THANK GOODNESS. Our photographers was told "NO PHOTOS until 3pm" not even of the setup. Money hungry.

My husband and I had the best open bar with the raddest bartender to ever walk the Earth. Oh, the venue is absolutely beautiful, too. It's perfect if you're looking for something b...
esides the golf course and hotel banquet hall wedding celebration. It's a Georgian, southern styled house with a separate Carriage house for the open bar, er reception. It is a house, but you actually have your ceremony held outdoors. There are two locations: gazebo or arch under shady trees. My husband and I picked the arch, it's absolutely gorgeous. The estate is covered by a wall and surrounding trees, so you don't even see the street, you feel like you're in another world.
The only two things that really put a tiny damper on things were the strict 6.5 hours (party must end at 11pm, so our wedding venue usage was 4:30-11pm) usage of the venue and the strict rules (no tape, pins, no feathers, no rice/confetti toss, nothing up on the walls, no getting ready inside the bridal suite...photo ops only, no one besides wedding party allowed inside the main house). It's understandable, being that it's a historical building and that they don't want anything ruined. I wish I had a longer time to use the venue, though. Other than these two minor (sometimes it felt like major problems, but in the end it wasn't that bad).
The two reps that help you along the planning process are so dear. They are so helpful, very quick to respond, help with brainstorming. I can't even count how many times I've called and emailed them with questions, probably sometimes with the same questions twice. They are always happy to hear from you and always respond quickly about your open bar celebration and wedding. Pluses: Includes a custom wedding cake from Some Crust Bakery (Claremont, CA), a talented keyboardist for the ceremony, gold chivari chairs for reception room at no added cost. Plus, they have open bar at different pricing structures to fit your needs. Did I mention open bar?
Beautiful venue! Plenty of great picture locations and fantastic staff!
The Lindley-Scott House was the perfect setting for the right price for my wedding. I was really happy with almost everything and would give a 4.5 star if that were an option. My o...
nly issues were the fact that they don't let you come to the venue 1 hour before the wedding. And that does not give you nearly enough time to take photos before the wedding. We also had an issue with the bartenders not giving out the proper change. Except for those 2 thing everything about this place is perfection. The property is so beautiful and colorful. The food was delicious. The decor is beautiful. Diane who assists with all the before plans and questions is great. George who helps with day of coordinating is wonderful. We had the perfect wedding there!
This venue is absolutely perfect for weddings. Our wedding was flawless, everything was perfect, and the staff couldn't have been better.
Thank you Lindley Scott House and Staff...

indley Scott House. Our event at this venue needed to be canceled due to the accelerated cancer in the brides father. When we new he was not going to make it to the date we had contracted, we ask for a cancelation. At first the Lindley Scot House (LSH) said no to are request of returning the money paid under such circumstances. After some phone calls, LSH did return a small portion of the money paid by the brides family. My negative review is based on what was told to me "It is part of the business we are in" that LSH could not return all but the down payment. I guess keeping the money without any consideration to the family for it is far more important to LSH. Better business sense would be for them to have returned the money under such circumstances. The best advertisement is always word of mouth. It can also be the worst advertisement.

t a single detail you tell her and she's so flexible, she will really work with you to get things set your way. The house and the gardens are so pretty, it truly was my dream wedding come true. Food was excellent as well and the whole ceremony/reception price is very reasonable. If you want budget wedding but something elegant, definitely a place to check out.
