The Lippitt House is beautiful, however I would not recommend working with them for weddings. I had my ceremony at the Lippitt House, and both Carrie (Director) and Kristen (Events Manager) were very hard to work with. We had written agreements that we both agreed to, but then they acted unprofessional and rude when asked to hold up on their end of the bargain. They attempted to change the written contract agreement for mask policy the night of my rehearsal dinner and tried to say the initial walkthrough of the venue (before we even signed a contract) counted towards our two contractual planning opportunities at the venue. Both women made it very clear that our experience on our wedding day was not their priority.
When a few of our guests stayed 15 minutes past our reservation time, Carrie shouted at them, pointing to the door telling them to get out - I wish this was an exaggeration. She was very rude to both the bride and groom, and very disorganized. The day before the wedding she had made zero effort to get familiar with the plans for the day of, and all prior planning decisions were seemingly forgotten. Carrie was incredibly miserable and rude, really not appropriate for the beautiful venue and special wedding.
Anyways, I wouldn’t recommend dealing with these two women. They did the bare minimum to ensure a nice experience, and were passive aggressive. It was at the point where I was worried to leave special wedding items alone at the venue, because I was worried Carrie would sabotage things.
I wish the beautiful venue was represented by a more professional duo, because the Lippitt House was stunning.
I just have to first say this was my dream venue! It was so elegant and intimate, it 100% matched the theme we were going for! Kristen is hands down amazing, she was so accommodating and made sure that our day went as smooth as possible!
This was the perfect place to have a small intimate wedding. We had approximately 60 people, any more than this and it probably would have been too crowded. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and relatively inexpensive. It made for a very memorable day and everyone complemented us on how beautiful the place was. In addition, we didn't need a ton of decorations or flowers (we only had bridal bouquets).
I had the pleasure of having my bridal shower tea party at the Lippit. It is the most stunning place! The staff was super professional. I highly recommend it for an event!!
