Lipstick and Lattes Event Design

We hired Rachel and Heidi as day-of coordinators for our wedding. They met with us at the venue and brought up some details that we hadn't thought of, like what music we wanted to play during the ceremony or during the cake cutting, and as last song. Heidi and Rachel took care of putting the linens on the tables and assembling the centerpieces, after sketches made by the bride. They also set up a photo booth backdrop the bride had crafted. And they assembled the dance floor. So far, so good. At the end of the evening, though, they didn't make sure everything had been taken away from the venue, which allowed for a keg and tap to disappear. This means we can't get our $150 deposit back. The keg also still had about $100 worth of beer in it, and we had planned to serve that to our guests for brunch on the next day. Rachel and Heidi also threw the left-over wedding cake in the garbage before the groom's mother had a chance to try the cake. Unfortunately, Heidi and Rachel decided to only reimburse us for $75, and they didn't even apologize for their missteps at the wedding. We probably should have had a family member supervise them, but if you can't trust your coordinators, why hire them? In the end, we had a wonderful wedding, but in spite of Rachel and Heidi, not because of them.
