Semaj and Live Action Events were great! He went above and beyond even in the 110 degree heat to make sure our wedding reception was perfect! Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely amazing experience. I typically will not give a review of a service, but I will in the case of Live Action Events. Semaj and his team were extremely professional in the sense that they were able to coordinate around any impromptu requests that we made during our wedding. They were extremely friendly, and easy to work with. I will be recommending them to anyone that needs a DJ service!

I cannot say enough about Live Action Events! They were so much fun to work with! We hired them for florals/decor and DJ ; Semaj and Kelly both did a great job! What I loved about working with Kelly was that we created a set budget for everything we needed, and I didn't have to worry about the specifics! She had me send her pictures or post on pinterest to get an idea of what I liked, and she handled it all from there! She did bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and table decorations, it all came together so perfectly. Semaj was a fantastic DJ, he handled all of my specific timings for the ceremony so well that our wedding director was relieved she didn't have to worry about it! We got so many compliments about the music all night, everyone asked if we had created a playlist for the open dancing portion of the evening which we had not! He played fun songs and a good variety of genres we requested! You won't regret working with them!

Live Actuon Eventd was amazing to work with. We had a destination wedding & spent hours reading reviews and speaking with vendors. Semaj and Leon did a fantastic job to make our day so special. We used them for both DJ and photos, everything turned out perfect!

I honestly do not think we could have booked a better DJ! They matched the vibe we were looking for to a T. We had people coming up to us all night saying that the music was perfect, that it was the best wedding dance party they'd ever been a part of, etc. etc. Barely anyone ate our cake because once the music started they didn't leave the dance floor. I'm not sure how it is closer to metro areas but in Asheville, NC it was very hard for me to find any DJs that could beatmatch live. Most said they just crossfaded songs. When I interviewed Live Action Events I was happy to hear that they would beatmatch songs live, and even happier to hear them do it well in person! I can't recommend them enough. Thank you Live Action!

If I could give Live Action Events 10 Stars I would! They exceeded my expectations in all areas and made our wedding perfect from start to finish. Whether it was finding a last minute replacement for the ceremony violinist who got sick, handling the craziness of a 21 person bridal party which included 5 kids under the age of 5, to taking all the stress off of me when my timeline got out of wack and to providing music that kept our guest and us dancing well into the night. They made our wedding memorable not only to us but our families and friends. Thank you so much Kelly, Tajari and Semaj for making Mack and I's day perfect. We could not have done it without you.

My wife and I had a great experience with the Live Action Events crew. We used them to provide music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and of course, dancing. They provided a worksheet which walked you through all the conceivable preferences you may have during this process. They also welcomed us to share a some playlists of songs to get a feel of the vibe we were going for. On the day of the event everything went smoothly during the ceremony and dinner. Live Action was also helpful with speeches and other directives. Then the real fun began during the open floor dancing session. Our family and friends were on the dance floor all night and hardly anyone sat down, it was a real blast! Would definitely recommend their services to anyone planning a wedding.

I literally cannot say enough good things about Live Action Events! We used them for our wedding on 10/13/17 and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. This company does it all! We used them for DJ, flower arranging, and day of decorating both inside and outside. Semaj and Kelly are both the friendliest, most down to earth and most professional people I have ever worked with. This company is such a cool concept, as it is essentially a “one-stop shop” for wedding planning. They contract with vendors to provide bundled packages at competitive, but lower than competitors, pricing. Both Semaj and Kelly respond quickly to emails, phone calls, texts, and Facebook messages. They drove from Fayetteville to Raleigh to meet with me several times to ensure that all the details were nailed down! For starters, the DJ services were top-notch! Semaj always arrived prepared for every meeting and made everything happen that I asked for! He sent me a detailed music worksheet so he could customize the ceremony and reception music to my exact preferences! The worksheet was able to help give structure to both my ceremony and reception and made planning so much easier. All the music was perfect and during the ceremony he did a phenomenal job at keeping people dancing and having fun! He mashed up songs flawlessly and played every song requested, not to mention he was behind the DJ booth dancing and singing along to every song throughout the night! His energy was infectious and he is by far the best DJ I have ever heard! The flowers and decorations were breathtaking! Kelly has a real talent for floral design and arranging! I bought all my flowers for the bouquets, outside decorations, and cake at the N.C. State Farmers Market. Kelly got them the day before the wedding and arranged them from fresh long stem flowers to masterpieces. As if this task was not a tall enough order, Kelly was a life saver in a potentially disastrous situation. As planned, the flowers were put into the refrigerator to keep cool overnight so she could continue working on them the next day. The fridge was turned up too high and all the flowers froze overnight. Kelly and her mom went back to the farmers market that morning (day of my wedding) and bought new flowers. They matched so closely to the ones I originally bought, that I did not even notice they were not the same flowers! My mom told me about all of this after the wedding was over and I legitimately would have never known otherwise! Semaj and Kelly are some of the most genuine people and I would gladly recommend Live Action Events to anyone and everyone!!

We worked with LAE for our DJ and could not be happier!! Semaj was so much fun, very responsive, and incredibly professional. He was very patient with me, as I was incredibly specific with my music choice. We had such a blast at the reception and we couldn't have done it without Semaj!!

They took care of everything! They arrived on time, had no trouble finding any of the songs I had asked to use, and were happy to help in any way possible. They really helped the reception have order and I still have people telling me how much fun they had dancing!

Semaj did a great job last weekend at our wedding "after party." The music he played was great and all of our guests danced the night away! He was reliable, friendly and professional. We would definitely use him again!

I wasn't extremely pleased with their service. They only needed to play one song during the ceremony and it took like 30 seconds of us standing there before it started. Then at the reception they didn't play music as we were walking in and I told him specifically the song to play. Also the sound wasn't great, it was as if they didn't sound check before hand. I am unhappy we the service we received.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would Semaj is awesome! Don't hestitate to hire them for you next event!!! You won't regret it!

I was so pleased with Semaj and his team. Don't use anyone else! I used their DJ services for my reception and their string trio for my ceremony. They put on a great show. My dance floor was full all night. The music was just what I wanted, and the price was VERY reasonable. I met with Semaj multiple times before my wedding - he was always on time, personable, and willing to help. Live Action Events also offers other services including lighting, flowers, etc. You will not be disappointed!!!

Live Action Events was AMAZING!!!! We had so many people come up to us to tell us how awesome our DJ was. They were also super affordable. Really, they just can't be beat! We had Laurence and Kincent for our wedding at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham this weekend and they did an absolutely fantastic job. They came 2 hours early, set everything up, were very organized, did a GREAT job with all of our song and activity requests, and then LIT UP the dance floor. They even brought lights for under the tent and people could not stop dancing. Before the wedding, we got a very helpful worksheet going through everything for us to fill out. They gave us activity ideas, had us order when would go where, and asked for specific genres/songs/favorites. During the reception, they also checked in to make sure we were ready for things before getting started. After our activities were over and it was time for open dancing, we realized how they are also just fantastic DJs. They really know what they are doing and they KNEW how to keep people on the dance floor - no one wanted to leave at the end of our wedding! They were also very accommodating and laid back and didn't get annoyed or bothered by guests (like my 2 and a half year old nephew who kept requesting Michael Jackson over and over and then kept trying to mess with the turntable - they just dealt with him with grace...and knew none of us were opposed to a little extra Michael Jackson!). If you are looking for a fun, energetic, affordable, organized, and amazing DJ, Live Action Events is for you!

There is only one word I can use to describe Live Action Events and that is AMAZING!! Semaj was helpful from day 1 whether it was a DJ question or a random wedding question he assisted me. During the wedding and reception his DJ team kept everything running smoothly. Kelly did an amazing job decorating the reception area. I told her what I wanted and she made it that plus some. Again she was super helpful with any questions or assistance I needed during my whole planning process. We did not use their photographer because my friend did mine as a gift. However, their team photographer Leon is amazing. We looked at his website before my friend decided she would do it. Live action events is a one stop shop and is a Brides dream come true! You won't be sorry you hired them.

Live Action not only DJ'd for our wedding, but they also decorated for the ceremony and reception! They did an amazing job! Their team was easy to work with, enthusiastic, and created a dream! Working with Semaj and Live Action Events was a fantastic experience. He traveled to Virginia for our reception and handled the sound for our wedding ceremony in addition to all the music for our reception.
