I booked Mark as a live painter for my wedding. Booking was super easy and contract was clear. Mark and Anna are extremely reliable and kind people. This was the one vendor I did not have to worry about showing up on our big day. Our painting came out beautiful and added such a unique twist to our wedding day. After the wedding, Mark follows up with you to discuss any features you would like to add to your painting and is very accommodating. He even added in our dog into the painting, who was at the wedding, but not in the shot that we chose for him to paint. To top it off, Mark and Anna were able to drop off our painting to our home while they were passing by on a trip with their children. Great experience- look no further!
We immediately knew we wanted to have a live painter at our wedding to capture our first dance and we were thrilled when we found mark. We loved that he offered the option to add details and finish the artwork at his studio after the wedding. The painting at the end of the night looked amazing, our guests thought we took it home right away so we can’t wait to show them when the entire artwork is actually finished! Mark was so easy to talk to and his assistant was very organized. I highly recommend hiring him to paint at your wedding, our guests loved watching him work and it was such a great experience.

Your guests will be able to observe the artistic process as the artist turns several blank canvases into a collection of beautiful paintings.
A graduate of RIC with a BA in Art and Oil Painting, Mark DeSilva has a versatile approach to his method of portraiture. His work can range from impressionism toward the grand style of portraiture with particular attention to the technical use of color theory. Mark’s influences include Mattise, Sargent, and Monet. Mark painted his first live wedding scene in 2009 and discovered that he loved interacting with the audience. He strives to provide an entertaining experience as well as a collection of beautiful hand-painted images.
Live Wedding Painting by Mark strives to create an unforgettable memory for your special moment. Mark is happy to travel to Boston, Connecticut, New England, New York, and New Jersey for weddings and events. Mark will arrive close to two hours before the wedding begins to ensure that he is fully set up before the event begins. The majority of the painting will be completed during the wedding but will be taken back with the artist for any touch-ups etc.

Influenced by Matisse, Sargent, and Monet, Mark blends technical skill with a painterly sensitivity that captures both atmosphere and emotion. Since 2009, when he completed his very first live wedding painting in Jamestown, RI, Mark has gone on to create nearly 1,000 live wedding paintings for couples throughout New England and beyond. He has discovered a deep passion for painting in the presence of an audience—thriving on the energy of live events, engaging with guests, and sharing his artistic process as each brushstroke brings a scene to life. For Mark, the joy of live wedding painting lies not only in the finished canvas but also in the unforgettable experience he creates for the couple and their loved ones.
