WHERE TO BEGIN? I cannot recommend Liz enough. She is not only an incredibly talented, experienced, and passionate photographer, she is also a wonderful human and great presence during your wedding weekend.
It was really important to me to have a photographer that knew how to capture incredible photos on film, and after learning and seeing how skilled Liz is at film photographer, I knew she would be a great fit. After our first call, I was struck by her warmth, professionalism, and how we instantly connected.
She is definitely an investment but the service she delivers is unparalleled; you will get your digital photos back in a timely manner (she even sends you a few selects the day after which is such a fun surprise!), gorgeous books of your printed photos, and just a wonderful person to work with.
There are so many photographers out there and it can feel overwhelming to know how to choose one but trust me when I say you want someone who has been shooting weddings for years and years and knows how to deal with complicated family dynamics, unexpected scenarios, and has seen it all. Liz is a true expert and your photos will be stunning, to boot.
Liz was amazing from beginning to end. She captured amazing moments and was so great to work with. Her deliverables were fantastic as well; it was awesome to see every proof printed and in a linen bound album. We also got over 800 images which was so great!
I'm still speechless at the amazing photos Liz captured for our Kauai wedding. Full of heart, personality, and beautifully composed shots... her photos truly are one of a kind.
She was invisible when she needed to be invisible (and still got the shot,) was professional and kind to everyone in our wedding, and really is the kind of person you want to spend your day with.
Her photo-journalistic mix of film and digital means that she gets every shot, every time. I'd hire her again in a heartbeat.

Liz Banfield is a really good photographer, a statement which really cannot be made about a number of people who photograph weddings. As the mother of the bride, who was for a number of years a professional photographer, this piece of the planning was naturally near and dear to my heart.Liz had photographed a friends daughters wedding in the early 1990s with black and white film. Those images were some of the loveliest wedding shots I had ever seen and, in fact, one of them wound up in Martha Stewart Weddings.
I requested that she use both black and white and color for my daughters wedding last July and the results were breathtaking. She has a great eye and she really understands light.
She's also great fun to work with, unobtrusive and gets it all, no mean feat when you don't know who all these people are.
I would never have considered using anyone else. She charges what she is worth but the results are so great they leave no room for regret. She's the best.
Liz is the best photographer. She made us feel special and she made me, the bride, relax. She took charge so I didn't have to worry about a thing. She's not only talented, but passionate about her work. She went to the limit for our engagement session and wedding. She's worth every penny!
Her photos looked like they were out of a magazine and she shot a good combination of black and white. She had use give her a list of particular moments and people we wanted photos of and got them all. She designed a beautiful coffee table type album for us.;She was expensive.
