Our No. 1 compliment from guests was our ceremony and vows, and we have Liz to thank for that! It was important to us to have a ceremony that was truly our own, but not too long or short or boring or sappy or obnoxious. Liz did an amazing job of capturing our story, and throughout the planning process freely shared various tips and tricks (both related and unrelated to ceremonies) from her experience marrying countless couples. We're so appreciative of her coaching and support with vow writing as well. My husband and I didn't share our drafts with each other in advance, and Liz helped ensure we were at parity in terms of length and tone without giving away any "spoilers." Liz is the best! We got married by Liz in October 2023 and she was terrific. We had several delightful conversations with her where she attentively chronicled the details of our love story. This resulted in her being able to deliver a super personal ceremony. She was very knowledgeable in regards to Jewish traditions and understood how to create a balanced interfaith ceremony that was non-secular overall with a few Jewish traditions. Liz’s vow journal was immensely helpful in organizing our thoughts to write our vows. Moreover, it was a deeply productive and enjoyable exercise to journal guided by her prompts. I highly recommend having Liz officiate your wedding.

We worked with Kelly throughout our wedding process and cannot rave about her enough!! Everyone at our wedding thought she was a close personal friend based on how much of our lives and memories she fit into our ceremony. The process was very simple but very in depth- she had us complete some questionnaires together and separately, and then gave us the option to send some to our friends and family to complete. We had a few sessions talking with Kelly to discuss the feel that we wanted for our ceremony and any other touches we wanted. She wrote a ceremony that was beyond our greatest hopes!! My husband and I worked with Kelly for our August wedding ceremony in Chicago and we could not recommend her and Liz Rae & Co enough. We had Kelly Bauer for our wedding officiant and we would hire her 1000000 times again. Right from meeting her virtually she was so kind, intuitive and truly listened to what we wanted. Made us feel so at ease for our big day. She then thoughtfully constructed through words our love story and went over it line by line to make sure it was how we wanted the ceremony to be and our vows. She held our hand through the entire process including how to get our marriage certificate afterwards. Day of she was beyond amazing. Our ceremony had some unexpected additional noise (party behind our venue) as well as our mic didn't work all of a sudden. This was no problem for Kelly as she calmly led us through our ceremony and projected using her theatrical experience and skills. Do not hesitate to hire Kelly as an officiant. She was beyond amazing!!!!! <3

Liz is THE BEST hire her right now!!! We wanted a friend of ours to be our officiant, but didn't want her to have to write it herself and also wanted to give her support in all the legal things she needed to do in order to marry us (she had never been an officiant before). Thats where we found Liz, who went above and beyond in all of these things and made an absolutely incredible and special ceremony that went very smoothly. We first got to know Liz over several video sessions where she asked us about our story and what is important to us in a ceremony. My expectation was that she would provide us with a generic template with some of our personal details included and then we would be on our own to edit it and make it really unique and special. NO. She made an incredibly beautiful and specific first draft, and then when we met about it and gave her feedback (sometimes super vague feedback like, "we want to say something about the ring being gold that ties in with the grooms science background and is kind of like this Carl Sagan quote") and she would take it all in and produce the most beautiful text that said exactly what we wanted it to say. We did several iterations of this over I think at least 3 drafts and video sessions, and she also gave us great ideas about different elements to add to the ceremony that we hadn't thought of before. Our officiant was also included in the draft document and added her own thoughts as well, and then tweaked the language at the end to be in her own voice for the day-of. Liz also did an amazing job of prepping her on all the small and big details she needed to be aware of, and everything went incredibly smoothly on the day of the wedding. We got tons of compliments from our guests on the ceremony as well, some saying it was the best they had witnessed! Beyond how great she is at what she does, Liz is just an amazingly kind, funny, wonderful person to be around. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she is extremely professional. We really enjoyed working with her, 10/10 highly recommend!!

We loved working with Liz and having her help us craft a unique ceremony that was truly about us. It was really fun to tell her stories and see how she incorporated them. We’d highly recommend Liz for couples that don’t want a cookie cutter wedding ceremony!

Liz spent a lot of time to get to know us - she wants to know you so she can tailor the ceremony to the bride and groom, which is exactly what we were looking for. We then collaborated on the ceremony script over a couple of months as we all fed off each other's ideas, and the end result was something familiar but very unique. Although we never met face to face until an hour before the ceremony, it was like encountering an old friend the first time we met. Her professionalism and delivery at the ceremony helped us pull off something above and beyond our early hopes. Thanks to Liz for helping make our wedding day so very special!

Where to start! Having Kelly as our officiant was one of our favorite parts of our wedding. We realized during our planning process that we wanted our ceremony to be personal and genuine to who we are. I loved the idea of a custom-written ceremony. You can tell that this is a company that passionately celebrates all people and all love. I got even more excited when we got paired up with Kelly as our officiant. When I started poking around Kelly’s Instagram, I lit up! I was obsessed with her messages, her spirit, and her vibe. She totally inspires me. It’s nice when you feel like your officiant is someone you’d want to be friends with. Working with Kelly to create our wedding ceremony was seamless. She was very available to meet with us and got to know us. She is an excellent creative writer. The ceremony was completely reflective of us and our story. Our guests loved it and we received so many compliments on how beautiful it was. Many guests also complimented Kelly specifically, all saying how great she was! I felt extra comforted having Kelly by our side during the ceremony. At one point I accidentally said my “I do” too early, and Kelly quickly said “she’s eager!” and everyone laughed. She made that “oops” moment into a very positive, memorable part of the ceremony. What an amazing presence she is! You totally rock Kelly- keep being you!!! :)

Liz is an amazing officiant! She took the time to get to know us which enabled her to craft the perfect ceremony for us. Our guests raved all night about Liz's touching message and how she seemed like she knew us for years. She was able to incorporate my new stepson in the ceremony which was very important to us. Liz also came up with the perfect family unity activity for the three of us. After getting to know us, she created the taco spice unity activity and the guests were over the moon for it. We cannot stress this enough, but she's the best officiant ever!!!

Kelly from Liz Rae & Co wrote and delivered the most beautiful wedding ceremony for us. I wish I could give her 100 stars. Kelly interviewed us to learn about our relationship, our love, and what tone/feelings we were looking for in a ceremony, and she created something better and more personal than we could have ever imagined. My husband and I got married in June 2022. We worked with Dan to create our dream ceremony and vows. I have never met such a kind, genuine , and invested person. Dan is meant to do this career. He supported us through the whole process and honestly became like a friend. He wrote the most beautiful ceremony that was completely customized to us. It was my favorite part of the entire planning process and was worth every single penny. We had all our family and friends in tears with the beautiful words he spoke during our wedding. We will forever be grateful we got paired with Dan for such an important event in our lives. I would give this company 10 stars if I could. I promise if you book with them you will not regret it.

I can’t say enough positive things about Liz. We worked with Liz for close to a year. She really took the time to get to know us and our relationship. By the end of our first call, it felt like we were chatting with an old friend. The ceremony was perfect. We received so many compliments and people asking how long we’ve been friends! Working with Liz was probably the least stressful part of the whole planning process. We would 100000% work with her again.

Liz is simply the best! She really took her time to get to know us and our story on a deep level. There was never any pressure to “settle” with a ceremony, she was willing to do rewrites and changes until it was perfect. Although, it didn’t take much change. Her writing was beautiful, captured our love, and added a bit of humor (something we wanted). She is just good people who will go the extra mile to make you and your Fiance feel special.

Liz was recommended to us by our wedding planner, and we went into this not knowing what to expect or where to get started writing a wedding ceremony. Liz was great and every conversation with her was easy and fun. We felt like she really got to know us, and our sense of humor as we put the ceremony together. We met with her several times throughout the process, and did a detailed read through with our officiant to make sure everything would sound smooth on our big day. Well, this review is LONG overdue, but much deserved! We hired Mark as our officiant because we didn't want an über religious wedding, and, well, our friends all know us a bit *too* well. Mark fit right in and we hit it off almost immediately! He got to know us over a couple of beers and was great at sending us drafts of what he was planning to say. Super cool dude and such a great company! I've recommended Liz Rae & Co to every engaged couple I encounter (even if they aren't asking for advice lol)

The review comes a little late, but we are so lucky to have Liz on our wedding! We had a relatively tight schedule when we reached out to Liz, but because of the efficient communication and high productivity from Liz, everything turns out perfect. We have many Chinese names, and even one line of Chinese during the ceremony, but Liz tried her best to overcome the language barrier. Overall, Liz is definitely someone you can trust for your wedding!

Liz Rae & Co. was fantastic! We were paired with Vincent as we are Los Angeles based. He was exactly what we were looking for, we didn’t want boring and he was hilarious. We meet with him at a restaurant to get to know him and then we did some interviews and the script he came up with had both families loving the ceremony. We got so many comments about how good he was. People thought he was a life long friend by how personalized it was. We didn’t know what to expect or what was needed and he helped us through it all. highly recommend.

Oh goodness, where to begin. Finding Dan through Liz Rae & Co was truly a gift & a blessing. I truly can't imagine a better officiant than Dan. When my partner and I got engaged, we were struggling to find an officiant who could do a more interfaith/but not overly "religious" feeling ceremony. We really wanted to find an officiant who understand both my partner and I's different beliefs, worldviews and backgrounds and blend those into a ceremony that was uniquely us. And Dan did just that. We first chatted with Liz & Dan via a Zoom/video call as sort of a vibe check. And from the first meeting with Dan - he felt more like a friend than just a vendor when we were hiring. I could tell from the beginning that Dan was a listener who really wanted to get to know my partner and I so he could help tell our story on our wedding day. Throughout the process, we had multiple meetings & hangouts with Dan. We got a beer, got coffee and texted/emailed regularly. We connected on social media and Dan was so great about checking in with us about even non-wedding related stuff, like to wish us happy birthday or good luck on something with work, etc. He really became a friend throughout the process. While planning a wedding is stressful, the one part of our whole wedding planning process I never had to worry about was the ceremony because Dan was so on top of everything. Dan also helped us write our own vows with Liz Rae & Co's vow journal that had prompts to guide as we begin to think about our vows. Dan captured my partner and I's story perfectly. He helped us find a unity ceremony that was uniquely us too. There wasn't a dry eye in the room during our ceremony because Dan just understood us & our story so well. We truly feel like we found not only our wedding officiant, but a friend in Dan. I can't imagine our wedding day without him. I could go on and on, but I truly can't say enough great things about Dan and Liz & Rae Co. If you want a ceremony that is unique, original, inclusive and anything but cookie-cutter - would recommend Liz Rae & Co. So much love for this vendor! :)

Having Vincent as our officiant for our wedding was hands down the best decision we made. Vincent was so professional, accommodating, funny, and honestly the best storyteller! We met Vincent in person once and through zoom a couple of times. He was so good at telling our story the way we wanted it. We did not expect how much it elevated our wedding, and still, now we are still getting compliments about our ceremony. We highly recommend Vincent! He really paid attention to our story details, we absolutely love his jokes and love how we were able to go over everything before the actual wedding day. Our ceremony was the best part of our day, our guests laughed and cried, and it was the best moment that we still carry on. My husband and I can confidently say Liz was hands down the BEST vendor we booked for our wedding! When we started wedding planning, we knew we wanted someone more non traditional. We are not super religious, have LGBTQIA+ family members, and wanted someone that aligned with our values. We found Liz on Instagram and she fit the bill perfectly! We met with Liz several times over the wedding planning process. It felt like we were dating Liz. She would ask us questions to get to know us better. She also asked our close family and friends questions, to hear their perspective on us and our relationship. This was all done so she could write a fully custom wedding ceremony for us. We had minor tweaks along the way, but we loved every copy she sent us! The final wedding ceremony was beautiful. We wanted a serious, but not too serious wedding ceremony, and that is exactly what we got. Beyond writing the ceremony, she also helped us with the processional. We had no idea how to arrange people, and she knew exactly what to do. We also used Liz for our rehearsal, and all of our close family and friends got to see first hand how awesome Liz was. She answered all of our questions, and put up with our family banter like a champ! We loved working with Liz. Our family still talks about how amazing Liz was. You will NOT regret working with Liz Rae & Co., she is a must for your wedding!!

Liz was absolutely amazing to work with as an officiant! Her story-based approach to the ceremony was exactly what we were looking for and we felt like Liz really got to know us through our meetings and video calls leading up to the wedding day. She will listen and understand your story and help to turn that into a beautiful written script for the ceremony day. I also appreciated that we got to play a role in creating the script and could send edits and go back and forth until we reached the final product. While we like to think that we were the stars of our wedding, Vincent absolutely stole the show with a ceremony that perfectly blended sentimental moments with down-right hilarious one liners. Almost every guest approached us afterward commenting how it was the most moving and entertaining wedding ceremony they’d seen. When we first explored using an officiant service, our biggest worry was that it would feel impersonal or forced. The final result couldn't have been further from the truth. Vincent and Liz Rae used a really unique process to gather meaningful anecdotes and funny stories from multiple points of view by engaging our parents, families, and friends. Vincent then went above and beyond to get to know us and our love story - including spending time over lunch in Los Angeles! We are so appreciative of all the work Vincent put into the script, process, and delivery and will treasure the memories from what we too felt was the best ceremony we’d seen.

To answer the big question: yes, we would absolutely recommend Liz Rae & Co.! In the midst of crazy wedding planning, we somehow forgot about finding someone to officiate the wedding- ridiculous, we know!- and we came across this page on The Knot and reached out. Very quickly, we heard back from Liz and got a quote and while she was not available, Vincent was. Working with Vince was a lot of fun! We had such a short amount of time to prepare but he really went out of his way to get to know us, put together the ceremony piece and ask us our honest opinions. He let us be a part of the process and the result was that it was such a personal ceremony; so much so that our family thought he was a good friend of ours! We still hear from family and friends that our ceremony was lovely and funny (which is on brand for my husband). We appreciate Vincent and Liz’s work ethic, kindness and would definitely send folks their way!

We worked with Mark and he did such an amazing job putting our ceremony together! From the beginning I knew he was the perfect fit. We were able to get to know each other over some pizza and beers and early on you could tell he was super passionate about writing, speaking, and being able to contribute to such a vital part in telling a couples love story on their wedding day. Over the months leading up to the wedding he was always easy to work with, even from out of state. He took our ideas and was able to run with it. We had a beautiful ceremony and he even took care of all the legal paperwork after we signed the document!

All of our meetings were held over Zoom and it's almost impossible to believe the only time we met her in person was on our wedding day (she was very open to meeting in advance and was always accessible), as she is now such a special and integral part of our relationship. On top of being so great to work with, she really knocked it out of the park on the day! She made us feel comfortable before the ceremony, with her easy-going, sweet demeanor and brought the perfect energy and tone to her delivery. She felt truly present with us and our guests, speaking with clarity, gentleness and great sincerity. There are a million reasons to hire Liz and I can't think of a single one not to. I feel like many couples have to choose between their want for a professional to officiate their wedding or being able to have the intimate and personalized ceremony that comes from a close friend or family member. Liz was the best choice because she provided us with both! We were lucky to have Liz recommended to us by two friends, who were each married by her previously. I also got to see Liz in action before so I knew she would be a great fit for us. We had no idea how to approach putting together a wedding ceremony (beyond the legal bits that have to be there), and Liz jumped right in with us and helped us dream, brainstorm, and build our ceremony into something curated just for us. From our first meeting, we could tell she took getting to know her clients seriously and thoroughly. She absolutely did with us! Every other review that says you feel like you're being married by someone who knows you is true! Liz was absolutely amazing!

We choose to work with Liz Rae & Co. through a friend's recommendation and were very happy with the choice. Mark did a wonderful job making the ceremony match what we had in mind. He was able to use our in person meetings to gain information to make the ceremony very true to us as a couple, light-hearted and witty. The meetings were much appreciated as we used this time to customize the ceremony to suite our tastes. Working with Liz and Hannah was an amazing experience. Everything about the entire officiant process was amazing and more than I could have ever imagined. The initial contact/setup process is made extremely simple. Liz makes sure to pair you up with the officiant of your choice based on your own personal preference and availability. Our officiant Hannah Redder was the best fit for us. Hannah is an extremely kind, funny, and accommodating person. We had multiple calls with her throughout the planning process, where she would ask us questions to get a sense of who we were as a couple. Hannah also went in-depth by having conversations with some of our friends and family. Everything she did was extremely thorough. I never got the sense that she cut corners on anything. Hannah wrote us the most beautiful drafts for our wedding ceremony, based on the observations she made during our conversations. My wife and I barely had to make ANY changes to her drafts, as we thought they were as close to perfect as they could possibly be. Meeting Hannah at the wedding in person was also great, as she was just as friendly and likable as she was online. Hannah was a crucial part of making our wedding the amazing day that it turned out to be and I would recommend her to all of my own close friends and family. The BEST officiant ever!

We had the perfect personalized, secular ceremony we wanted thanks to Kelly and Liz Rae! The pre-planning tools, like the individual and couple questionnaires, ensured Kelly got to know us and was able to craft a ceremony that captured the key points and the tone we were looking for. Emma was absolutely wonderful to work with! She created a ceremony that was exactly what we were looking for and unique to us. Multiple family and friends told us that it was the perfect representation of our relationship. Emma was very responsive, gave us time to look over the ceremony and make any edits, and was just lovely to talk with.

Liz writes each wedding ceremony from scratch based on multiple conversations with the couple. She uses a shared google doc so you can review her progress and provide feedback along the way. We targeted a more lighthearted ceremony with a few laughs and that is exactly what we got. Liz also has other officiants that work for her and 3 weeks after our wedding we were at our friend's wedding who used Mark, another officiant from her company. He did a great job as well and would be a good option if Liz isn't available.

She has such a great energy and is very easy to work with. Kelly took inputs from some our closest family and friends to craft a romantic, lighthearted, and personal speech. She prepared the speech far enough in advance that my husband and I were able to review it and provide feedback (although we only had minor feedback!). We got many compliments on our ceremony and even had one of our guests book Kelly for their wedding next year! Thank you so much Kelly!

Kelly officiated our wedding and blew us away with her professionalism and genuine interest in our needs and desires for our wedding ceremony. Meeting with her we were nervous because it's such an intimate thing to discuss your wedding ceremony, vows, and dreams with someone you don't know. Kelly immediately put us both at ease with her kindness and good natured vibe. We loved talking with her about her process and both felt like we had made a connection with her by the end of the initial call and that she "got us" as a couple. When it came to writing our ceremony we hardly had any feedback for her because we really feel like she captured the essence of what we were looking for and really made the ceremony personal to us. The day of we had some rain during our outdoor ceremony and there were some mishaps with technology and an urgent need for umbrellas. she led the guests and us through it with ease. This made me and my husband calm and able to laugh it off and that in turn made the guests relaxed too. Everyone was smiling and joyous rather than bummed about the weather or frustrated. I cannot recommend this company and kelly more! We are so so happy we picked Liz Rae & Co

Planning the ceremony was the hardest part of wedding planning for us. Liz is the absolute best and we could not have asked for a better person to officiate our wedding this March in Brooklyn! From meeting with us multiple times before the wedding both in person and on zoom she crafted a completely personalized ceremony that was the perfect blend of the two of us. We grew up Catholic but didn’t want to get married in the church - we didn’t know where to start and she was able to help us figure it out with zero stress. Multiple people asked us how long we had known Liz and assumed she was a close friend. We cannot say enough amazing things about her!!

Elizabeth B. was super amazing with the initial meet up, follow-ups, and all in all super inclusive with writing our wedding. She really got to know my now wife and I and our life together from our meeting, to our daily lives with our 3 cats! She was very punctual to our event, walked us and our wedding party through everything and was so good at making sure we felt that everything was right. I'd gladly recommend Liz Rae & Co. For any and all weddings, she even knew our event center already which made things go even more smoothly.

We were so happy to have chosen Emma as our officiant. She was so kind, courteous, and professional, and adapted to a rather tight timeline. The video calls and consistent communication were very much appreciated as the ceremony speech came together. She was calm and prepared when it was time to meet in person on the big day. I would highly recommend Emma -- but I am sure the other officiants with Liz Rae & Co would be just as lovely.

We absolutely loved having Emma perform our wedding ceremony from Liz Rae & Co! We spent a lot of time researching officiants and are so happy we found the perfect fit! From the beginning Emma started to get to know us as a couple and learn about the history to our relationship. We met through several FaceTime sessions where we went over what we wanted in our ceremony and the vibe we were going for. Emma wrote our ceremony from scratch and we had access to a google doc where we could suggest edits we wanted changed or comment on how perfect something was. Emma absolutely blew us away with her professionalism and attention to detail. Our ceremony was exactly what we wanted, a mix of laughter, memories as a couple, and of course our dedication to each other/our future together. There was not a dry eye in the room during our ceremony, including the groom! We had many people come up to us during the reception and say how wonderful the ceremony was and how it was one of the best ones they had seen at a wedding. We couldn’t recommend Emma and Liz Rae & Co enough!

Liz is incredible and you need her in your life. She was so helpful, supportive, thoughtful, and went above and beyond throughout the entire planning process. She was thorough and detail-oriented, walking us through her process and making suggestions we never even though to ask about. Our guests said it was the most romantic, personal ceremony they had ever seen. EVERYONE was crying. Our other vendors loved her and called out how well she ran our rehearsal.
