I wish took a picture with her. The end results were amazing! It is hard for me to pick favorites because I love them all. She is worth every penny.

The variety of pictures we got for both our engagement and wedding was great – there were so many excellent shots that picking favorites for an album was nearly impossible! We were quite pleased to have this “problem.” Her eye for the best shots is clear in her work. The online gallery she uses is great for viewing, marking favorites, and is easy for sharing with others. We cannot recommend Liz Stewart enough. She captured the happiest and most important day of my husband’s and my life with beauty second only to the experience itself.

On her way in she had noticed some beautiful trees in bloom that made a beautiful backdrop. She is an artist and is always thinking about getting the perfect shot for her clients. She sends you this step-by-step guide to help you throughout the process as I had no clue of all that was involved, and that goes into planning a wedding (from the photo timeline to the shot list and so much more). I was nervous about the timeline, and Liz helped to calm my fears by offering several suggestions based on her many years of experience. Unfortunately, on our wedding day, our timeline was thrown off by one mishap, and it ended up delaying the rest of the nights' events. What I love most about Liz is, despite the absolute chaos of that day, she remained perfectly calm. It takes a truly talented artist to capture candid photos as she did even though we were incredibly behind schedule. In the words of Aaron Siskind, "Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever..It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything." This is exactly what Liz did for us that day, and we can both look back at these images and remember that day exactly as it was. I would recommend her a million times over!

ne- she was far more competent and helpful than even my day-of coordinator. The difference I found compared to all the other vendors is that Liz genuinely cares about you and your wedding. You can't get that from many vendors. She made sure everyone was on schedule and thought of every detail beyond what was asked/required of her. She spent hours on the phone with me answering my silly questions and gave me good ideas for favors, helped me with my entire timeline- with Liz I felt like I got a photographer, a planner, and a day-of-coordinator all in one. I had a photo station with an ipad for selfies for guests, and I was told from a family member that she saw it was dying during the night so she personally grabbed a charger to make sure it was all taken care of. She is the best of the best and I would recommend her a million times over if I could! Our pictures came out PERFECT, she did a beautiful job capturing the emotions, they were light and airy, natural and we look so happy. She is such a calming presence- there was one point after the cocktail hour where we had a few minutes to chill and me, my husband, and Liz just sat around eating hor douvres, taking it all in. She's a really cool chick who you want to have on your team because she will make you feel beautiful, calm, and will take care of business. It was an incredible night and we feel so lucky to have found Liz.

We had a complicated agenda- preparations at a home in Georgetown, formal pictures in the Bishop’s Garden at Washington National Cathedral, the wedding itself at Georgetown Presbyterian Church, then on to Decatur House for the reception. Liz was cheerful and flexible throughout, as was her partner, and thanks to Liz’s skilled planning and suggested scheduling, it all went off like clockwork. Our minister even commented on how professional Liz was, and she has recommended Liz to other brides! Liz does a great job of asking beforehand what photos to capture, and true to her word, she got every shot requested, and then some! The formal pictures will be family keepsakes for years. And the spontaneous shots will always make us smile and remember the warmth and love of that big day. Her follow up was reliable and true to her commitment. Selecting photos was tough because there were so many great ones, but her recommendations made it easier. oes into the photography portion of the wedding (timeline, shot list, backup weather plans, transportation timing, etc.) and I am so lucky to have had Liz help guide me through this process – she was always a phone call away whenever I needed to run something by her. Liz first did our engagement shoot –Liz was extremely accommodating and rescheduled multiple times to try and catch the DC cherry blossoms at their peak. I am so happy we did the engagement shoot with her first – this allowed us to get to know one another and get used to posing. I’d say it was most important for my now husband who isn’t one to want to take lots of photos – he loved Liz and I felt like he could have kept going with the pictures all day. Now on to the wedding day photos – I’m overwhelmed with which photos to choose for my wedding album because I love them all; she also provides every photo in both color and B&W. Liz made everyone feel comfortable – my family, friends, etc. during the formal shoots outside in front of the Capitol. Whenever I’d start to worry about timeline, Liz eased my nerves and told me that was not my concern and we are on track. Having Liz by my side all day ended up being more beneficial/comforting than my day of coordinator – she even helped us figure out how to bustle my dress when we were struggling. Liz was on a mission to make sure we got all of the photos I requested in my shot list and yet Liz & her assistant photographer were hardly noticeable during the ceremony and reception (which is the way it should be!). I was worried about the reception pictures since it was outside at night with dim lighting but the pictures came out clear and bright. Liz provides first look engagement and wedding photos within a few weeks after the shoot and then full photos a few weeks later – she was never late on any date she told me she would have the photos by. Her online album to view the photos is great and makes it easy to share with others and download the photos in different resolutions. If you are looking for a photographer that takes pride in their work, has a sense of humor, takes the time to get to know you and customize the experience to what is most important to you, and of course – produces stunning high quality photography at a reasonable price– then Liz is your girl.

Contacting her was easy and I always received a response withing about a day. She was did an excellent job working with my needs. The price was not excessive and I'd estimate about mid-range. I didn't have much to spend, and she still worked with my budget and did her best to make it work for me. In regards to the quality of her work, I was impressed. The photos came out beautifully and they could have been in a wedding magazine. I'm not easy to please. One thing I did notice is that she gave me a lot of the freedom to choose what shots she took. I'm not certain if that's the case for every client. I have only had exposure to one other wedding photographer to compare with. Liz was a lot more relaxed while the other photographer ordered everyone around and chose the poses herself. I make that comparison to highlight that she isn't pushy and can grant a client as much freedom as wanted. I had the freedom to choose, which was valuable to me. Overall, I would recommend Liz, and definitely feel that she did a phenomenal job.

Her rapport is impeccable which ensured that we were comfortable and made for a lot of great, natural looking photos and made our wedding day stress free knowing we were in good hands. We used our engagement photos for our Save the Date and still receive compliments on them! Day of she was wonderful and helped coordinate our wedding party to make sure that we got the photos we wanted and blended in with/treated our guests fabulously. We cannot wait to use Liz again in the future when other events call for professional photos!
