She met and exceeded all my expectations and was a joy to work with. We only had family present and Deirdre fit right in! She made us feel so comfortable and really captured the essence of the day. I'm beyond happy with how everything turned out, and so thankful I chose Lo and Behold Photography!

for places for pictures--since we are from east Texas that helped so much! We didn't have to think about anything in regards to our pictures. We had a small elopement-type ceremony, and she really made our day special.

She even accommodated a complete wedding venue change for the bride and groom. Deirdre met with the bride and groom a couple of days before the wedding to prepare a plan be in three places at once. She created a detailed list of all the photographs to be captured at the ceremony to streamline the process. On the day of the ceremony, she followed the wedding party all over West Texas. She captured the bride getting ready in Alpine, Texas, the groom getting ready in Terlingua, the ceremony at Santa Elena Canyon and the reception in Terlingua. She even squeezed in a photoshoot of the wedding party departing the ceremony on motorcycles. She stayed the duration of the reception (it was a long one with many speeches) until the bride and groom departed. All the guests commented on the great job she did. Out of all the weddings they have attended, they had never seen a photographer work so hard. Her husband, David, did a great job assisting Deirdre with the shots. Deirdre and David are a pleasure to work with. Deirdre's kind demeanor has a calming effect during stressful moments. Every picture she takes is a masterpiece. She captures everything from the water bottles for the guests to the big kiss. She makes sure you look your best on the best day of your life. When the bride looks at the wedding pictures, her smile is as big as the one from that day. The wedding was far from home so a lot of family and friends could not attend but thankfully they have such amazing pictures to share. We really didn't know what to expect from our engagement photos, we just knew we wanted something that would actually capture who we were as a couple and Deirdre was able to do it beautifully. We can't say enough positive things about her work. She took her whole day (a couple hours in the morning then ~3:00 pm until 11:00 pm) and graciously met up with us in two different locations to take pictures. Our one request was a photo with the starlit sky behind us - and she was able to capture it! Her photos capture the landscape so wonderfully and we loved every single one of the photos she took of us. If you're looking for something more in your photos, she's the one to hire!

nd we are still in awe over how stress-free it all was! Every thoughtful detail shows through the photographs. And these photos..wow! Deirdre captured the magical landscape of West Texas. She even made my husband and I look damn good too!

strictly aesthetic perspective -- she works to understand the couples she works with, as well as their families and friends, allowing her to capture images that are pleasing to both the eye and the heart. Having her there on my wedding day was a wonderful gift. She was steady and supportive and easy to be around. She was also reliable, honest when she thought something might not work, but never even remotely pushy. I hate having my picture taken, but with Deirdre, it was totally painless... fun, even! Yeah... it WAS fun. And I absolutely love our photos. LOVE THEM. I can spend hours looking at them just for my own entertainment. I couldn't recommend her more highly. I'd give her a 6 if I could.

people I love and those were the same two words that I kept coming back to when I looked at the pictures from our wedding day. Long story short- I was a budget bride and I wanted to have a very fun family affair, as well as trim the details that seem to create such an expense. I didn't do bouquets, just stemmed flowers in mason jars as our centerpieces. I didn't have a traditional cake or venue, I got a friend to cater and that's how I met Deirdre. One phone conversation later, I was convinced: She was the perfect person to photograph our perfect day. Not only were her packages flexible, but she saw my vision and embraced it. I browsed her website and was floored. The words "simply stunning" kept coming back to my lips. The moments she captured- those sweet and simple moments that are in-between the big ones- those were the moments I longed to have documented on my wedding day. Every bride deserves to have someone this special, with this much talent to be with them on their wedding day. I didn't think the same of myself at first, but now that I have had the experience I have had with Lo and Behold Photography, I believe it with all of my heart. Not only did Deirdre stun me into speechlessness two very short weeks after our wedding with our photographs, but I was so surprised at what she saw that I missed. My sister's face through a window as I was getting ready, my best friend (and caterer) between the curtains of vintage hankies that I inherited and collected through my life, the temperature gauge on the wall to celebrate the beautiful weather we were blessed with, all these sweetly small moments that meant so much to me as a bride and as a woman. Every time I look at our wedding album I get to celebrate our wedding over and over again. My husband, who told me the next day, "our wedding was the best day of my life," will sweetly ask to look at the pictures to re-live that wonderful day. Deirdre is a bride's dream. She was there, observing and interacting with my friends and family as if they were her own. She absorbed herself into the scenery and it was effortless as a bride to feel just so comforted by her presence, the presence of an old friend. And her photographs, well they left us almost speechless, with just two words on our lips- simply stunning.

wonderful "in the moment" type photos. Great communications from beginning to end. Definitely worth every penny and I felt it was very affordable considering that the event was "priceless" to capture. Ended up doing photos in the rain and in an antique store in the downtown Lee's Summit area, which turned out amazing!
