Locks and Lashes

Not a good experience AT ALL! But honestly, I should have known from the beginning. I had 5 bridesmaids + myself. We all wanted makeup or hair or both done. My wedding was at 3pm. Lauren said she wanted to arrive at 7am to start because she would be the only one & be doing both hair & makeup for everyone. I don't know about other brides out there but to me that was SO early! Especially since I'd need to factor in time to wakeup and wash/blowdry my hair. I asked her if she could bring another artist so we wouldn't have to wake up so early and not have to just go one by one (I was more than happy to pay of course!!). Her suggestion was that she just come at 7:30am and just "work faster." Uh...no thank you, If we're going to spend $200 each for hair and makeup I actually DONT want you to just "work faster"...especially on MY bridal hair and makeup! Like what?! Then came the trial. Again, I should have known from the beginning how it was going to go. She just had a super authoritative and aggressive personality from the beginning - not warm and friendly like you'd expect an artist to treat a bride that's spending an additional $200 for a trial..didn't even offer my MIL or myself a drink. Anyway. I showed her my pinterest pictures of a simple loose curl hairstyle with a little pulled back. Not only did the hairstyle look nothing like the pictures I showed (I just want simple loose curls...not that hard) when she asked me if I liked it and I told her what I did not like about it...she angrily SCOLDS me and says "Next time you need to tell me BEFORE I put bobby pins in your hair!!" Like really?? First of all, she put a whopping total of 5 pins in my hair, it's not like it was some elaborate up-do, just a basic natural look! And of course I wanted to wait until **5** pins were in before I said something...how would I know I liked it or not before that was done?! And isn't this a trial!? Isn't that why I'm paying so much!? So we can determine what looks best? That ruined it. I was completely uncomfortable and in complete SHOCK after being yelled at by someone **I** hired. I was too scared to say anything more about what I liked and didn't, instead I was just bawling in her chair! And in a condescending voice she tells me "You need to use your words not your tears." Awful and so unprofessional. I ended up cancelling her that day because the stress of finding new artists was actually less than the thought of her doing our hair and makeup for my wedding. I ended up finding two great referrals - a makeup artist and a stylist...and they were AWESOME. Made me feel so comfortable and beautiful and they made all my bridesmaids feel great too! They were so much fun and I'm honestly so happy I didn't use Locks and Lashes.
