Lois Heckman, Celebrant

rms of professionalism, Lois was perfect. We communicated mainly via email on a regular basis and whenever needed, via zoom for face-to-face meetings. She drafted up a ceremony script and then we worked on it with her to make it absolutely perfect for us. She was open to new ideas and kept a positive attitude throughout our entire time working together which we really appreciated. She also regularly attends conferences around the world for officiating which we believe makes her one of the most current and unique officiants out there. If you are looking for a non-religious officiant who has fresh ideas and a radiant personality, Lois Heckman is the one!

eremony. Lois is an absolutely pleasure to work with and helped us with the timeline for the big day. She included all the details we mentioned which made our ceremony personal and perfect. I will definitely want Lois around to help us with other celebrations in the future. Thank you!

d an initial zoom meeting and could tell we "clicked" right away. Lois then sent us a link for some forms. She had us, individually, fill out a very thorough questionnaire, which we really appreciated. Lois used our responses, and lots of back and forth communication, to create the perfect ceremony for us. She even found a great reading to include, written by my favorite author that I mentioned in our forms! We really couldn't have asked for more, as she did an outstanding job of giving us a uniquely beautiful ceremony and capturing who we are as a couple! Hayley & Phil

ht commenting on how great the ceremony was. It really was perfect! We were skeptical about the ceremony choreography at first because we’d never seen it before but are so glad we trusted her with it! Being able to look out at our loved ones and embrace my husband during the ceremony was exactly what I needed. Lois listened to us, provided feedback, encouraged our ideas, and set a great tone for the rest of the evening.

to questions and made sure our day went as smoothly as possible.

ith you to be sure you're fully comfortable with the ceremony before the big day. She gave us great feedback on our vows, too. I fully recommend Lois!

g to her great reviews and looking her up online, we decided to reach out to her. We met on zoom and she told us about herself and asked us about ourselves and our families. We hit it off right away and knew she would help to make our wedding ceremony perfect. Due to covid, we had to postpone our wedding twice. She was beyond understanding and made herself readily available for each of our dates (and for help and emotional support along the way)! She gave us homework, which we submitted separately and she then created the most beautiful ceremony. She incorporated quotes, shared stories and even helped us to choose rituals for our ceremony. It was absolutely perfect. Our guests could not stop commenting on how beautiful and unique the ceremony was, and many of them said it was the nicest ceremony they have ever been to. We feel the same way!

hat we wanted. She was also very prepared. With how hectic my wedding day was I actually forgot to bring my vows to the ceremony but thankfully Lois had a copy of both of ours! I would definitely recommend Lois to other couples!

e impress us, but she impressed five teens/pre-teens as well (not an easy feat!). We couldn't be more grateful to Lois. We highly recommend her!!

Lois. We were so lucky she was available on our date (and willing to travel out of her way for us. ) I was panicking a little but Lois was so calm and professional and did not seem phased by the tight timeline at all. We met Lois via zoom and instantly knew everything was going work out wonderfully.. And it sure did! Lois had us fill out some questionnaires so she could really get to know the details of our relationship. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the crowd. The ceremony was so unique and personal. Also, the way Lois suggests to stand is awesome. It’s great being able to see your partner and everyone in the crowd. It made it so much more special! I’m honestly so happy our first officiant canceled on us because if she had not, we wouldn’t have gotten this incredible experience with Lois. It all happens for a reason! If Lois is available for your date, I highly recommend working with her!

n many occasions about various aspects. The end result was perfect for us, our relationship and our, soon to be, marriage. With out being long and drawn out, the ceremony perfectly touched on what made us, well, us as a couple, it was touching, sometimes amusing and inclusive to the wedding party, family's and friends. To this day many attendees still tell us it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. A large part of this was the light and lovely tone set by Lois early on in the day. In short, I cant imagine my wedding being officiated by anyone else! I am so very grateful that she played such an importantly huge role in the best day of our journey together. We are still in touch and I consider Lois to be a friend. I cannot recommend her more. If you're on the fence, just do it, you wont regret it!

he time to get to know us both as a couple and as individuals, and it really made all the difference in making our ceremony a unique and memorable experience for us and for our family.

sentation of our story and our beliefs. We had so many guests saying how amazing the ceremony was afterward. Highly recommend Lois!!

nd deeply personal ceremony. Lois was an absolute pleasure to work with and I can’t thank her enough. Plus her dogs are super cute and snuck into one of our photos! Thanks again Lois!

saying "Will you marry us?" and she contacted me within minutes and by the evening we were on the phone chatting away. She is very personable and takes her job seriously. She took our love story and turned it into a ceremony that not a single one of my guests will forget. It was unique and 100% us. This was exactly what we wanted. She walked me through everything and put together the most memorable script. I smiled, I cried, I laughed, and just like she said "...and by the end of the day you're married!" Love you Lois!!

was my own wedding, but it was the most incredible and unique ceremony I’ve ever experienced. From the start, Lois was so easy going. She was easy to communicate with and was always responsive via email. She had us fill out questionnaires to get to know us and our love story. From there, she wrote the most thoughtful and beautiful ceremony. She made it clear that the ceremony could be whatever we wanted, and she was totally open to any changes requested (but I highly recommend that you trust Lois- she knows her stuff!). It was really great to be able to read the ceremony ahead of time, but I’ll tell you- reading those words on paper was nothing compared to how Lois delivered the whole ceremony. I swear I felt like she had known us for our whole relationship. I give my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a celebrant. If you want an incredibly personal and meaningful way to officiate your marriage- do not hesitate to book her!

asy to work with and we felt very involved with the selections she provided. No one has ever had a ceremony like ours. We could not be more pleased with our wedding ceremony.

o getting to know us and making our ceremony so personal and not just a cookie cutter wedding. She worked with us all the way to make sure everything was the way we wanted. And always responded to my million questions so quickly. We got married 12 days ago and we are still getting compliments on how beautiful the ceremony was! Thank you Lois for a day we will never forget!

on and convey to our guests, and worked on several drafts of the ceremony with patience and kindness. She delivered the ceremony gracefully and our guests were completely blown away. We couldn't believe how many people came up to us during the cocktail hour and reception and said something like "WOW that was a unique ceremony" or "that was the most personal ceremony ever" or "your officiant was amazing, where did you find her!?". We are so thankful that we did find her, because it made the world of difference. We can't wait until we get our video back and can experience the entire ceremony again!!

and inspiring to our guests and Lois delivered exactly what we were looking for! I’m so happy she was a part of making my wedding dream become my reality!!! I can’t thank Lois enough for being a part of making our wedding day as perfect as it was! 💜 Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

onal and the community is well served by all that she does! Thank you Lois for being so great at what you do!!!

d how it was the best ceremony they have ever seen. We completely agree! Lois worked so hard to make sure my husband and I got the perfect ceremony that fully expressed who we are as a couple. I couldn't have asked for a better celebrant on our special day!

amazing because the pictures were already breathtaking. Thank you Lois for making our wedding so special, I am glad we were able to share our day with you!

ed her and the ceremony she created to allow our guests to connect to our love story. Lois took the time to get to know us as a couple and really made the ceremony more thoughtful than we could have ever imagined. We so appreciate that she traveled to be with us on our special day and for making it so memorable!

nt as we discussed our ceremony vision and we felt she truly wanted to make our ceremony something unique for us. And that she did! People were blown away by our ceremony and we have Lois to thank for that - literally people said it was the best ceremony they have ever experienced. We wanted a personal ceremony which felt intimate but also included some important traditions (13 coins-Arras/Irish Blessings/tree planting together) and our back story of how we came about and why we love each other. Lois beautifully weaved together a narrative that honored our past/heritage, our parents, embraced the present and got us excited about our future. While the ceremony was happening, I almost pinched myself because I felt like I was in a dream because it was so perfect. Lois is authentic, loving, detailed, funny (at just the right times) and she is a very talented writer. A ceremony is incredibly important part of the wedding that no couple should overlook or de-prioritize. Look no further and book Lois right away before she fills up. Would give her 6 stars if I could. Lois, we want to thank from the bottom of our hearts. You were absolute perfection!

band's side of the family. When we reached out to Lois, she expressed SO much excitement about officiating our wedding -- we could feel her warmth right from our first few email exchanges. She was attentive throughout the whole process, and welcomed every request Alex and I had for the ceremony, as well as offered up some beautiful suggestions we never would have thought of on our own. The day of the ceremony, when we finally met her in person (we weren't local to the venue), it felt like we already knew her. Lois conducted the most touching ceremony we could have imagined. So many guests came up to us after to tell us how much they loved the ceremony, and how much they specifically loved Lois.

utiful ceremony. It was absolutely perfect and we will cherish it forever. If you’re looking for a unique ceremony and something that is personal, I would highly recommend Lois! We got so many complements from our guests saying that it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever been to! Thank you, Lois!!

personalized and stress free ceremony you could ever have! With her beautiful smile and positive energy Lois was not afraid of going the extra mile for us. Our wedding was in Pennsylvania and my husband and I were organizing the wedding from California, USA and London, United Kingdom. Thanks to Lois efficiency, professionalism and excellent communication we have made the communication work perfectly despite the differences in the time zone. We can't thank Lois enough for her great work and our guests are still giving us great feedbacks on Lois and the beautiful ceremony she has given for us to this day! If you want a memorable ceremony I would definitively recommend Lois as she is truly the Best and you won't regret it. Thank you Lois xx

as. That's all thanks to Lois writing and telling our story. The ceremony is the most important part of a wedding and my husband and I knew we wanted something special. From the first time we spoke to Lois we knew she would deliver. She takes great care in getting to know the couple and their wishes for a personalized ceremony. After completing a questionnaire she writes your ceremony, from there you work with her to edit and revise as needed to make it truly yours. She also has countless ideas to help with vows, rituals and methods to honor multiple family beliefs. I will always recommend Lois to anyone interested in having a wedding ceremony that is truly a reflection of their commitment.

getting to know us & made our ceremony beyond special. Highly recommend her!

reat job on capturing our story and sharing it with everyone, It was everything we wanted, since we wanted to keep the religious and church vibe out of it. She was very helpful along the way with any questions we had or tips to help write our vows. Her positive energy and laid back manner made it so easy to work with her and made the experience that much more enjoyable and natural on us. Thank you for that! We had a great time at our wedding and the day was everything we hoped and wanted it to be. I still can't believe how it poured for the ceremony and was gone for the cocktail hour!!! Thanks again Lois and be well!

take and truly listen to. She is such a genuine person and really just wants the best for you on your wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an officiant who really cares about you and your spouse on your wedding day and will guide you every step leading up to it.

wonderful the whole time. She had asked us what we wanted people to take away from the ceremony and we had said "We want them to say wow, that was the best ceremony I have ever been to." Lois really came through on this. It was just fantastic. I would encourage anybody looking for a celebrant to start here. There was nothing I would change about what Lois did for us. It was simply wonderful.

itional ceremony and I am so happy with the outcome.

esented us individually and as a couple, as well as setting the tone for the rest of the day. We live out of state and did most of our work with Lois over the phone or via email. When we did get to meet her in person a few months before the wedding we had the nicest conversation and spent half the time just getting to know her and her husband. We really made a great connection and felt so comfortable with her. Lois is the best, hands down, and you will not be disappointed.

ic she was throughout our wedding planning process! She has this way of making your story and personality as a couple really shine through during your ceremony and it really sets a happy, emotional tone! I have had so many compliments by friends and family on how wonderfully Lois incorporated both faiths and explained things for people who may not have understood a particular faith element in our ceremony! They all say that ours was the best and definitely most personal wedding they had ever attended! I have Lois to thank for that! She is awesome!

nd put forth a genuine interest in learning about the relationship my husband and I share and what marriage means to us. Our ceremony was the most important part of our wedding day, and she tailored our vows and ceremony to reflect the history of our love, the present love we share, and our aspirations for growth moving forward with marriage. We can not say enough good things about her, nor could our guests. Everyone was moved by her words and expressed to my husband how honored they were to have been part of such a unique ceremony. Endless thanks to you, Lois.

and chemistry of each couple to ensure each ceremony is as special as the bride and groom (or bride and bride or groom and groom)! Lois had us fill out questionaires, provided examples of vows, rituals etc and even had us over to her wonderful home to spend time getting to know us! Lois spent as much time as needed to work and revise our ceremony using our input and suggestions to perfect each sentence. Lois doesn't just read the words you've comprised she brings life to the ceremony, gets all present involved and makes the ceremony a truly memorable experience. She provides helpful information on all legal aspects as well such as obtaining marriage licenses and changing your name. I highly recommend Lois to anyone looking for an officiant for their special day!

with touches of both of our unique religions and heritage. Lois arrived early that day and throughout all of our contacts was kind, understanding and very easy to work with. Thank you Lois for making our day perfect!

e wedding to make the perfect ceremony for us. Everyone that attended our wedding comments on how beautiful, unique, and perfect our ceremony was. I am so grateful to Lois for making our ceremony so memorable and beautiful. I highly recommend her!

my husband is Irish-Catholic, we were looking for an officiant (or in her case – Celebrant) who specializes in interfaith weddings and would be flexible and comfortable with including both traditions without having things be overly religious. Lois was the PERFECT fit. She completely customizes the ceremony to you and everything feels completely personal and unique. She helped critique our wedding vows and did a great job helping us prepare for all aspects of the ceremony. In fact, she even writes a script so that we know exactly what is being said and we could be confident that everything would go as planned. There was never an awkward moment. Everything felt well prepared, yet still natural. We highly recommend her services to all brides/grooms whether they want a ceremony with or without religious aspects. THANK YOU SO MUCH LOIS!!!
