Lon Michaels Wellness Spa & Salon

some of my bridesmaids shared the same feedback. For paying around $100 for my curls that completely fell out and for caked on makeup, I should have saved the money and trouble of doing all of this myself. Normally, I wouldn't mind doing this myself, however, I wanted it to be a special experience and take some stress off myself. Now that I look back on my wedding pictures, I feel quite upset and I regret not handling it myself. Also, initially myself and my bridesmaids wanted to do a french braid for either bangs or a braided crown, our stylist(s) both said they didn't know how to style braids. My stylist tried a rope braid but it lacked professionalism (had a lot of elastic and bobby pins as she said my hair "wasn't long enough" when my hair reaches just above my breasts) and looked sloppy. The only thing I was pretty happy with was my eye makeup. It wasn't exactly like the picture I brought in, but it did look really cool and lasted most of the night. The downside was the foundation/layers upon layers of makeup as it was completely overdone (covered up my freckles and I didn't even look like myself). I couldn't get out of the salon fast enough to wash off the foundation. As I said, the staff was quite friendly but another thing was that they didn't seem to respect our schedule. I sat for a shellac manicure for roughly 90 minutes (day before) and my hair/makeup appointment ran about 2 hours when all I did was get my hair curled. I notified them of my schedule, yet, there was no sense of urgency so I, and most of the wedding party, ran late for everything planned (photo shoot with the photographers, meeting with the vendors, rehearsal, etc). It upsets me to give such a poor rating, however, I would not recommend this salon to anyone. The staff needs to be more respectful of time restrictions and perhaps take more classes to further their education.

on Michael's Salon before. It was a wonderful experience. Lon is very easy to talk to and is great to work with. He had me come in a month before the wedding to do a trial run for my hair, and I was able to get an idea of what I wanted and try out a couple different styles. On the day of the wedding, he did my hair while two other hairstylists worked on the rest of the group. He had snacks there for us as well as champagne to help us kick off our day. It was really nice. We were there very early, so there was only one other customer in the shop for the entire experience. It was a very comfortable and welcoming place, and Lon did a wonderful job on my hair. I absolutely LOVED the way it turned out. It stayed in all day. My only warning is to allow some extra time into your schedule in case things run over. We were told it wouldn't take more than two hours, but we ended up being there for over two and a half. It was absolutely worth it, but definitely something to think about. It was also more expensive that I was originally told it would be. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would do it again in a second. I would recommend Lon Michael's to anyone.
