olutely perfect. We first got to know Long through a virtual conversation to align on our vision - he's truly there to make your life easy and simply focus on capturing the best moments. Long made us feel so comfortable and he took the time to get to know us during our engagement shoot which really opened us up. Long made us look so good and encouraged us along the way :) He helped guide us in both the engagement session and the wedding day but in general, he was able to use his skills to capture the right moments without us even noticing, which says a lot about him and his craft. Long is like a friend. And his pictures are memories we will cherish forever. We couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Long!

Long worked with us to change our location, date, and captured beautiful photos of us, our two best friend’s and their son (our godson). I cannot begin to express how happy I am that we chose Long as our photographer and will certainly be contacting him someday for a maternity shoot! ❤️

people and I was nervous about looking too awkward or goofy in our engagement photos, but Long was so helpful and walked us through everything. He was so patient and put us totally at ease. We feel so lucky that we were able to have met Long and have him with us on our wedding day. He has given us such phenomenal gift and we will cherish our photos forever.

e we were having an outdoor wedding! It rained and rained, the wind cut through blazers, and by the end of the ceremony my bare feet had frozen. These were tough conditions! We had to forgo the planned sunset beach photos, but it didn’t matter. Long was able to capture the most special and intimate photos in the warmth of our home. Because of Long’s photos, I was almost grateful for the rain. Not only has Long well-honed his craft, but he is just cool. His presence is calming, and he has an innate ability to made everyone around him feel comfortable. It’s incredible how subtle his is. He takes these very up-close and personal shots but, it never feels like he is overbearing. He never tries to push for anything inauthentic. In fact, it is almost like he pulls your authentic self out of you. A true gift. Everyone has been blown away at our pictures. The way he edits his photos is so soft and romantic. You can feel the energy of the wedding through them. We were so lucky to have Long with us on our day. Especially given the weather we had. But, hey! Long and he responded so quickly and set up a FaceTime so we could chat. We instantly fell in love with his personality and knew that he would be the right person for us. We booked Long for our wedding and engagement shoot. During the engagement shoot he was fantastic; he is all about the love! He made us feel so comfortable and captured photos that were not only good for the save the dates, but also intimate photos that really showed how happy and in love we are. We were supposed to get married on Sept 26, 2020 in Sanford, NC, but thanks to Covid we had to change our plans. We wanted to move our wedding to the beach and move it to a Friday. Long had no hesitations. He was so incredibly easy to work with and was so flexible on us moving our day. On the wedding day he arrived early to the venue. Even with Covid and all the changes he was so happy to be there and be part of our special day. He was incredible with the family and friends- my Mom could not speak highly enough of him. After the wedding he got all our pictures back to us pretty quickly and I was amazed. There are so many beautiful photos of my husband and me, our friends, and our families. There are the photos you make your profile picture and print for frames, but just as importantly there are photos of the real moments. I ugly half-cried down the whole aisle, and those photos really represent my happiness and love in the moment. Anyways… Book Long. He is phenomenal and you will not be disappointed!

Long communicated so quickly with my husband and I as we planned our wedding, then postponed our wedding until 2021 due to COVID, then quickly planned an intimate beach ceremony for July 2020. Long was compassionate, understanding, and flexible every step of the way! We only had 12 guests at our wedding, so it made the photos even more important: they became the way we could share our day with the many family members and friends who could not join our celebration due to the pandemic. Long also stepped in to help us manage the day since we did not have a venue or wedding coordinator for our very small wedding. Long made sure that the ceremony ran on time and helped everyone get to the right places. He made me and my husband feel calm and taken care of, so that we could really focus on each other and our new life together on our wedding day. Long is a master of documentary-style photography, so our photos look so natural and not posed or faked. We did do the standard posed photos with our family, and even those are beautiful. Long just made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease. He is truly the full package for a photographer! I already cannot wait to work with him again for the big wedding part we have planned for 2021. Long kept the day fun and light-hearted, even when we were freezing on top of a mountain and standing underneath a waterfall! For our wedding day, Long exceeded our expectations again! We didn't want to spend hours on photos, so we had a very specific list of pictures that we wanted. While we did run out of time (because of ceremony time changes) and had to cut a few, everything we got was perfect. We're in love with our wedding photos and can't wait to share them with all of our friends and family. If you choose Long, you won't be disappointed. I'm already looking for excuses to get him to take more photos of us!

We live about 4 1/2 hours from Chapel Hill and for our engagement session he embarked on a new journey with us to take photos where he had never been before — and the photos are perfect. For the day of the wedding, he was fantastic. He was so calm and relaxed and went with the flow of everything. We have received soo many compliments on all of our photographs. His work is extraordinary and he works very hard to get your photographs back to you quickly. If you are looking for a photographer to capture your special moments, Long is your guy. The new session happened the week before our wedding, and it was just what we needed to calm our nerves. We were a bit nervous at first because neither of us are naturals in front of the camera, but Long was so easygoing that we felt relaxed, and the photos turned out beautifully. Another pleasant surprise was how much we connected with Long and how easy it was to talk with him and share fun stories. We got to know each other well during the session and enjoyed the sunset together. On the wedding day, Long was incredibly professional and calm. He arrived at the venue early and immediately began scoping out locations for our photos. He also gave us just enough direction to understand how to pose without it coming across as unnatural or too formal. All of our friends and family members raved about Long and in particular, he was incredible with my parents. They've never been to a Western-style wedding and Long did an amazing job explaining things to them throughout the day and helping lead my dad through the first look. We never asked him to do this, but he did it anyway because he is such a thoughtful and kind person, and it was because of him that we ended up with so many incredible photos from that first look! He also kept track of our photography schedule so that we could focus on the day. We had an outdoor wedding, and it was unexpectedly hot (88 deg. in late October). There were lots of bugs as a result, and at one point there were crickets all over one of the flower girls' dresses. He was really patient even while she was crying and helped pull them all off without skipping a beat. He also kept checking in with everyone to make sure they weren't feeling overheated. There are so many more wonderful things that we could say about Long, but perhaps the most significant is that with him you are getting so much more than a vendor. He really does feel like a friend and there is no mistaking that he played a big role in our wedding experience. We're going through our photos now and are in awe of how they turned out. There were so many beautiful moments captured and we'll treasure them forever!! Thank you so much, Long.

I felt like he was just another friend at my wedding and not a photographer that I was paying to literally follow me around the whole night. Every single time we texted or emailed he responded super quickly and every ask I had for photos he was able to achieve. I know he had a least 5 other wedding/engagement session the week of my wedding, but I always felt like I was important and that he genuinely cared about our wedding being successful. The type of photos we were looking for in a wedding photographer was a “moody” feel. I really liked the grainy, vintage feel. Long Yau’s style was that and more. The photos are everything I have ever dreamed of for my wedding photos. Not only did we love the photos, we also really enjoyed Long Yau as a person. He was extremely nice, personable, and made sure we stayed stress free all day! We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer, Long Yau went about and beyond our expectations!
