This affordable historic venue was exactly what we wanted. The house is beautiful and outside gazebo made our ceremony magical. The venue was so accommodating and let us decorate the gazebo the day before!
This venue is gorgeous with a beautiful mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. I really enjoyed the vintage, classy vibe and the historical fixtures and details. We got a ton of compliments on our venue. However, I do agree with another reviewer that their communication is kind of disorganized. You have to work with the only approved caterer which is a different company, while also working with the organization that owns and operates Longacre. The caterer handles all decor decisions and timeline too. So sometimes the Longacre staff didn't know what was going on with my wedding. However, it was a beautiful venue and at the end of the day everything worked out well.
I had my bridal shower at The Longacre House this past weekend. I could literally go on and on for hours about how amazing they are. If you are on the fence as to whether you should book with them, take my advice and do it! From the first second I messaged them just wanting information, they were SO responsive and so nice. I worked mostly with Missy (the caterer) and she is the best. I knew when I met her that she was experienced, knowledgeable and just plain amazing. I was emailing her A TON and she never skipped a beat and always was willing to help me and make it all about me. I don't think she ever told me "no" for anything. On the day of the event, Missy and her crew were so amazing. I cannot tell you how many of my guests ranted and raved about the service they got, not to mention the food was phenomenal and the venue is so gorgeous. We even had to order more champagne bottles during the shower (my guests were very thirsty) and they did not miss a thing. SO AMAZING. They really made my shower so special, and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. 500+ stars!!!!!!!
It was an outstanding place that was so perfect for an intimate, meaningful wedding. The staff was top notch. As someone in the business of luxury hospitality, I can say this place and their preferred caterer Gourmet Express was exemplary. I can not recommend this place highly enough. Oh, and the grounds are so beautiful that you won’t have to travel for pictures. So easy!
This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! After I long search, this charming little jewel was perfect for our wedding! The bridal suite alone had my heart wrapped up. We had the perfect outside ceremony under there gazebo. The grounds is well kept and beautiful, plenty of flowers and greenery. Peaceful and Perfect!
Our wedding was at the Longacre House on 6/17/17. Everything was wonderful! The grounds and house are beautiful. Longacre is one of most affordable and best value venues in the area. The Longacre House staff are very helpful and know a ton about the history of the house. They're very helpful during the planning process. Missy and Gourmet Express were great as well! The food turned out great! My guests were all satisfied and well fed. Missy met with us a couple of times to go through the day of schedule and make sure everything we wanted was ready to go. She is very thorough and follows through on day-of set up and making sure everything goes smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to get married and have my reception.
If you are looking for a place with old farmhouse charm surrounded by beautiful nature, this is it! Longacre house is the perfect place for smaller wedding ceremonies or events. It’s decor makes it feel more like your home away from home and provides a very comfortable atmosphere. The staff at Longacre house is very courteous and took time to show us around the space. The reservation price is reasonable and you can also rent a sound system through the venue. Longacre uses Gourmet Express catering for all events, but do not let that dissuade you. Gourmet Express has a great variety of food at a fair price and provided excellent food and service at our wedding. Longacre also has centerpieces and room decor that you can use for your event upon request.
We only had our ceremony here, but it was the perfect choice. Everything was so beautiful and the people are so helpful and nice. The rooms for getting ready were so cute! We were so happy with how it turned out. I would definitely recommend Longacre House. It was the perfect setting for a simple, classy ceremony.
I can't say enough good things about Longacre. The house and grounds themselves are gorgeous and quaint. All that I could've hoped for in a setting. It's a nice departure from a more traditional hall type set up. There are really nice suits for the bridal party to get ready. And beyond the house itself, the people you work with are amazing. They make everything go smoothly and keep things as low stress as possible. As I was about to walk down the aisle with my dad my throat had gone dry and before I knew it a really nice staff member had grabbed water for me. The attention to detail and care demonstrated by these lovely people was absolutely wonderful! And while I didn't get to eat much, I heard the food was very good. Thank you for everything, Longacre!!
We had our July 2012 wedding ceremony on the grounds of The Longacre House. Everything turned out beautifully. I will say however that the staff was pretty unorganized, they all had different answers to my questions and they never seemed to remember who I was or what my wedding entailed when I called. Thankfully they pulled it together for the day and it turned out great.
We opted for an outdoor fall wedding and toured half a dozen locations before deciding upon The Longacre House. The 20 room Georgian country house, built in 1869 (then added on to in 1918), sits atop 5 acres of lush landscape. Outdoors you'll find gardens, a stonewall fence, an ampitheatre, gazebo and more. Indoors there are separate bridal and groom suites, a library, dining room, and living room for you and your guests to enjoy. They also have a catering service that offers dinner starting at $33 per person. We had just over 100 guests and The Longacre House provided the chairs and potted plants for our ceremony, as well as use of the property for six hours. We rented the whole house just in case it rained and we needed to move the ceremony indoors (a back-up plan is a must with the unpredictable Michigan weather!). The bridal suite was perfect for me to get ready in. I had my own private dressing room, a sitting room, and a full bath. We only had our ceremony at The Longacre House, but I know of others who had their receptions there, including my Aunt and Uncle some 20 years ago. I would recommend The Longacre House to anyone who is looking for a ceremony and/or reception space (up to 130 guests).
My wedding venue was a dream, but it didn't stop there. Having my reception at the Longacre House in Farmington Hills, was more than I imagined. My guests were swept away by the grounds, and the house, itself. My wedding was in the afternoon, and I had the pleasure to view the house decorated in the evening when I attended their open house. It simply isn't possible to have a bad experience there. The home is beautifully decorated, spacious, and very warm. You almost don't want to leave! The staff is spot on, and they do everything to fit exceed your expectations. I can't say enough, really.
I fell in love with LA as soon as i saw it and from there is was all uphill, from helping me organize my day to the fantastic food my wedding day was amazing, the staff were great too.
It was a great location for an outdoor wedding. They were available to answer any questions we had and was very courteous!
My husband and I just had our wedding at the Longacre House and everything turned out beautiful. The house was just gorgeous and so different from typical banquet halls and golf courses. Everyone was so shocked that a place like this existed. We had about 110 people at our reception and they made it into a such romantic and intimate experience for all of our guests.
