Hiring Rueben and his team at Loose Tie Photography was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. We hired his team for both photography and videography. From our engagement shoot through to the last dance of our wedding day, the quality of our photos and videos is absolutely stunning and we've received countless compliments. But what truly set Loose Tie apart was the experience.
Rueben immediately made us feel comfortable, which was so refreshing as we were worried we'd look awkward during posed photos. He has this rare ability to be incredibly sharp and calculated in his craft, while also being the most laid-back person in the room. He listened intently to our vision, provided advice where we needed help, and effortlessly guided us into natural, fun, and genuine poses, making the entire process feel less like a chore and more like hanging out with a friend. We were also thrilled with how seamlessly Rueben and his team worked with our dog, who was a big part of both the engagement and wedding photos!
The preparation leading up to the wedding was exceptional. Rueben and Melissa took the time to visit our family property (our wedding shoot location) twice just to carefully scout locations, map out specific shots, and track where the sun would hit at the perfect time of day. He mirrored this level of diligence at our main venue as well. This calculated approach ensured every moment was captured beautifully and perfectly timed, yet on the wedding day itself, we never once felt stressed about the timeline or logistics.
On the day of the wedding, Rueben and his team were a seamless, nearly invisible presence. They managed to capture every key moment without ever being disruptive. Our bridal party and family constantly commented on how awesome, professional, and friendly the whole team was.

Rueben is a dream photographer! My husband and I could not have asked for a better experience throughout all our wedding events. The entire wedding party couldn’t stop mentioning how much they loved working with Rueben. He cheered us on and support me through all my emails and questions. Rueben was very dependable and was familiar with our venue, Carmel Mission Basilica. He stayed out of the way, yet got some amazing and fun candid shots at the reception. We would definitely hire him again.

Super professional from start to finish. Everything you would want from a wedding photographer. When looking at our photos and videos, you would have thought we spent hours setting up shots and posing, but on the day we barely noticed they were there. The final shots made us look amazing, and the video really captured the feeling of being there.

Really loved working with Ruben and would definitely use his service for future events. He had a great attitude, lovely energy and was really helpful as my husband and I are not models lol many of our guests actually raved about him and his assistant as they were both amazing. I think it’s rare these days to find people that provide such great service and do quality work so thanks Ruben for doing such an amazing job capturing our special day. Much love!! :)

We recently had the pleasure of working with Rueben for our engagement photos and wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the very beginning, Rueben was incredibly professional and attentive. I had never done a photo shoot before and was very nervous leading up to our engagement photos. Rueben immediately put us at ease with his easy going attitude and coached us through each pose perfectly. His communication and preparation before the wedding was above and beyond. He even showed up to our rehearsal to plan out the next day and get our friends and family familiar with him. During our wedding day, he and his team blended into the background seamlessly for the candids then took charge and organized our big families for the countless posed pictures we asked him to get. We’ve received countless compliments from family and friends about how stunning the photos are. If you’re looking for the best photographer in this area, you found him! Ruben went above and beyond to capture the beautiful moments of our wedding. Loose Tie Photography are very good at what they do. When first meeting Ruben I was nervous about what questions to ask, appon meeting him any questions I thought of were answered. When ever I would call with more questions or requests he was very easy to talk to. When we received the photos of our wedding it was more than I've imagined. The photos came out looking amazing of the Venue and Ceremony and the Reception. If ever I need a professional photographer I'm definitely going with Loose Tie Photography.

Reuben (Loose Tie Photography) was absolutely amazing to work with. Reuben was very dedicated to making all our pictures perfect. He did a great job working with us & our guests, making sure everyone felt comfortable and excited to be in pictures. He was very flexible and easy to work with and helped us figure out good photo shoot locations and timing for beautiful shots that matched what we wanted.
The photo booth was very fun, with unique props and the ability to print and text links to guests. He went above & beyond making sure every little detail was captured beautifully. If we needed any photos in the future we'd definitely work with Loose Tie Photography again!

I’ve known Rueben personally for many years but never utilized his photography before. He was super easy to work with and understood our vision perfectly. I knew I wanted something moody and journalistic for both our engagement photos and the wedding itself. He enhanced our vision and made the experience more than we could have expected. His energy and friendly team made the process fun for everyone involved! We stayed on time the whole day and got everything we could have imagined. If you are looking for his style of photography, you cannot go wrong hiring him!

We recently got our wedding album from Rueben and I can't stop looking at the photos! They came out so nice and it's so awesome that we'll have these beautiful photos to look back on.
Rueben was super easy to work with from day one. He helped answer all of my questions (at times I was a frantic covid bride), he was very patient and flexible throughout the process.
When Wedding Day finally arrived, Rueben was punctual and very organized. He had all the shot locations planned out ahead of time, it made things for the wedding party really easy!
I don't consider myself to be very photogenic, but Rueben really helped me relax and most importantly made it FUN!
Our wedding party gave us many compliments on how great Rueben and his assistant, Amanda, were to work with!
Definitely don't hesitate to use Loose Tie Photography for your wedding or special event!!

Rueben and Ashley are beyond amazing! My husband and I had so much fun with them for both our engagement AND wedding pictures. All of our pictures are STUNNING and we are so thrilled! All of our family and friends just love everything about our album. Loose Tie Photography is truly magic! We have found our photographer for all of our big life events! I chose Rueben for the photos because he knows how to truly capture the beauty between loved ones. He truly has an eye for magic moments. I am a nervous perfectionist and was anxiously searching for someone who I felt could meet my standards. The whole experience from beginning to end flowed so well. Rueben knew what I was looking for as we spoke before hand and made me feel so comfortable. When time came to take the photos he was so fun and easy going. I really felt good about the experience. Finally the best part was seeing the final product. The series of photographs are so fresh and beautiful. Rueben creates a unique set of photos for each client. This is why he is amazing!

We could not have chosen a better photographer for our big day! We saw Rueben's portfolio online and were extremely interested in meeting him. He was quick to respond to our request, and soon after we met I knew we would choose him. He is warm, friendly and has a great sense of humor. It’s obvious he truly loves his work and takes pride in doing something that makes people happy. We really appreciated that he took time to talk with us and get an idea of who we are. We were also really impressed with his knowledge (this guy really knows his stuff!)
On the day itself, we had Rueben from start to finish. Having him there really made the day extra special. He helped make sure everything ran smoothly, he was very easy to take photos with, and always put everyone at ease- either with encouraging words or teasing jokes. I never thought I would have so much fun taking photos!
He captured the whole wedding beautifully! I couldn’t believe how many amazing shots there were! I was afraid I had a long “must haves” list of photos but he pulled through 110%. He captured every detail and more. He even surprised us by doing a mini photo shoot with my parents, who were celebrating their anniversary that day too. The day went by so fast and, after we received the photos, it really hit me how lucky we were to have such a great photographer help capture those memories!

Rueben and his assistant came to our home and also went to our wedding venue to take engagement pictures. He has a great sense of humor that really put us at ease, and took a bunch of different kinds of photos in different settings around our house and at the venue. He has some nice, really expensive looking equipment that resulted in great, professional photos. I'm kind of a hobby photographer and I was highly impressed with (and jealous of) his skill.
It was very apparent that he knows a lot about lighting and setting up the pictures to make us look great, which we appreciated. It was also interesting the way he was able to take advantage of different elements of our yard and the forest/coastal venue setting to give us several different "looks" for our photos. He even took some with our dogs, which required a lot of patience (they're a pain in the ass to photograph.)
Overall, I would highly recommend Rueben and Loose Tie Photography. We weren't looking forward to having our pictures taken but once they got here and got started, we were able to have a lot of fun with it and, most importantly, we got some really nice non-generic engagement photos that we love.
