ponding here to contest what you felt or experienced, I do just want to clarify some things. When asking everyone to wipe their feet before coming into the shop, I noticed someone's shoes were still squeaking when they walked in further, so I asked if they could wipe them just because I wouldn't want any of the gowns to drag over any possible dirt from outside that could have come in on the wet shoes. We take pride in keeping our samples in top shape. I also didn't want anyone to slip if there was water on the floor or if their shoes were still wet. There was no mention of "uncontrollably annoying" sound. I would never say that, but I do very much apologize if the comment made to wipe the shoes sounded rude. I do want to state that we do not body shame here at Lorien. In fact, we make sure that anyone who does such a thing is asked to reel in their comments because it can be so detrimental to the bride. It was said, in a jest way, that we "would go out of business" if ALL we carried was smaller sizes, as we tend to order, on average, a size 16, so it is easier to clip a smaller bride into a larger gown rather than having a bunch of smaller size samples that some brides could possibly not get into. Again, I very, very much apologize if you felt that what was said was rude, I did not mean it that way AT ALL. There was in no way any body shaming intended as I would NEVER do that to any of my clients. Or to anyone ever. I am very very against such a thing, especially being a plus-size woman that has experienced a lot of body shaming in my life, ESPECIALLY in the bridal industry. Lastly, and most importantly, I HONESTLY wanted the bride to go back to Karoza because she found the gown she was most excited about there. Perhaps that is not something you expect to hear from another bridal shop, but when a bride finds her gown, I can tell, and if it is at another shop, that's what I want for that bride! Of course it was good for her to come in and make sure there was nothing here at Lorien that would compete with her favorite there, but when I was telling her "I think you've found your gown, you need to go back to Karoza," I was being 100% honest and not IN ANY WAY malicious or facetious. Sorry for the long response, but I take every criticism to heart, and if anyone at Lorien is accused of body shaming, it hurts personally. We do not condone such a thing, and I believe there was just a miscommunication in what was being said and how it was being perceived. It is my fault for not seeing that I needed to explain even more thoroughly that I was being totally serious when saying the bride needed to go back to the other shop to get her gown. I truly meant it, and was happy for the bride because I knew, when she was trying everything on here and not finding anything that compared to that favorite at the other shop, that the one she had found over there was the one she should purchase for her wedding day. I so very much apologize for any unpleasant feelings received during your appointment. None of that was intended, and I wish the bride the best on her wedding day!

us-size gowns for you. I wish we had more as well. In fact, half of our next season of sample gowns that we have coming in in Spring are a size 18 or higher. We try to get in the best structured gowns for any size over a 16 as that is a major priority for anyone that's curvy like us, so anything that doesn't seem to have the right amount of structure is sampled in a 12 or 14 with us instead of a 20 or so. Sounds like excuses, though! Haha. Sorry about that, I wish we could have found your gown here, but if you would like to come back in to try others on when the new season comes in, or if you would like to just come back in to look for accessories, let us know! -Amanda (Lorien Owner/Stylist) PS - I agree that "unlined" gowns (usually illusion straps or necklines) can feel itchy, but that is mostly a fit issue, as once the gown is fitted to you and not moving/rubbing, it shouldn't feel as itchy. Just wanted to clarify that since "itchy" can sometimes be misconstrued as "cheap" and the fabrics on our designers' gowns are not cheap.
