I am completely and utterly blown away by Amanda and her bridal shop! This store is truly a hidden gem in Glendale! Other bridal shops made me feel like I was just a number in their attempt to get me in and out as fast as they can, while taking...
as much money as possible.
I am happy to report that Amanda's service is so personal and relaxed, I actually ENJOYED my time there. I didn't feel any pressure to purchase anything the same day. She also takes the time to actually understand your style, while ensuring you and your entourage are having fun.
The prices are also reasonable. Other stores in Glendale, seem to have wedding dresses starting at $5,000 and that's so excessive (in my opinion). At Amanda's store, the dresses I liked ranged from $1,200 to $1,700.
The dresses and accessories are also GORGEOUS! There are styles for everyone: if you want plunging neckline, modest, lace, shimmer, layers, romance, classic...it's all there!
The store itself is absolutely adorable and tugs at my inner nerd. If you love Disney Princesses, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, or Harry Potter, you will LOVE this store's ambiance. It is like stepping into an enchanted forest, and Amanda is your fairy godmother.

When I had questions about what lining color to order she sent me pictures and pulled some dresses with the linings for me to come by and see in person. She helped with cost effective options and genuinely cared that I was comfortable with my pick.
Compared to my experience at Lorien, the other bridal shops I went to first were pushy, uncomfortable, princess nightmares. If you want to try on dresses somewhere relaxing and fun with someone who will give you an honest opinion, asks the right questions, and who treats you like an adult, I can't recommend Lorien enough!

ment time and was greeted by Amanda, who was super kind and helpful. She gave me a lot of great advice and helped me to find a dress and matching accessories that I really loved and was excited for. Unfortunately my bridal party was unable to make the appointment, so I decided to wait to purchase it since I already had an appointment elsewhere with the girls. In all honesty, the excitement of the appointment with the girls went a bit to my head and I ended up buying a dress at that fitting instead. Out of all the decisions I made for my wedding, the dress is really the only one that I've wondered if I made the right choice. While the dress I bought was beautiful, I think the combination of the dress I originally chose and the exceptional service from Lorien would have been a better in hindsight. While I didn't end up buying my dress there, I would definitely recommend them given my experience shopping there.

After an emotional breakdown & realizing I had no dress for my wedding, I was referred to Lorien and Amanda moved mountains to help me not only find an INCREDIBLE DRESS... but found me a dress that I love EVEN MORE than my original one! She found me my dream dress. It's so ME. My mom, maid of honor & bridesmaids agree. It encompassed every quality I told her I wanted. And I didn't expect to get them all in one. I am completely obsessed. I've never felt more beautiful. We had to get the dress overnighted - which she made sure happened - and she referred me to a tailor who also made miracles happen. I found my dream dress at Lorien. And it's because of Amanda. She just gets it and is sooooo wonderful to work with. She's the nicest, sweetest person that makes the process happy and fun. She didn't try to push any of her garments on me to buy either. She just genuinely wanted me to feel special and held space and time for me to do that. I am forever grateful. Also, her boutique is the loveliest space of all the shops I went to. She's decorated it in a way that feels intimate and special.

ys clean and its very apparent she takes a lot of pride in everything she does. At no point did I feel rushed through my appointment the way I was at other salons and the questions she asked me were for the purpose of helping me verbalize what I liked and what I didn't like about certain dresses. She really put forth an effort to find styles that were flattering and at no point did she make me feel overwhelmed to make a decision at any point. She even followed up outside our appointment time to show me pictures of other dresses we didn't have time to look at during the appointment which was so kind, I appreciated it so much.
I went to one more salon after Lorien, and afterwards, I knew that no matter what my dress was gonna be, I was going to get it from Lorien. And when I did book my second appointment, I brought all kinds of accessories I'm considering wearing with my dress and she rolled with all the crowns, and statement piece necklaces--it was so fun to be creative and by the end of it, I ended up saying 'yes' to a dress that was so me, I can't stop looking at pictures of it.
Not to mention I'm a plus size bride and I had all kinds of anxieties going into this process and Amanda handled all of it with grace. I'm really grateful that she was a part of this process, and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who is like me and is afraid of traditional bridal salons. Thank you Amanda, you're the best!

I felt so at home surrounded by floral trees and “nerdy” decor from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. I can’t wait to visit again to pick up my dress and choose our accessories! I will definitely recommend this shop to anyone and everyone, especially nontraditional brides looking for anything but your classic white dresses.

We had a appointment at the bridal shop across the street earlier at karoza bridal who were extremely kind and very helpful, there we found two beautiful dresses my neice loved but still wanted just to make sure she saw all her options so we went to her next appointment at this place as soon as we enter it was horrible. It was a heavy rain day since we have been having storms in la for weeks now and immediately the owner very rudely told my neices mother in law to do a better job wiping her feet cause the sound is so uncontrollably annoying to her and she would be forced to mop her floors now . Then proceeded to body shame my petite neice that she dosnt cater to women who are petite because she would go out of business and that if she liked the other dress at the other store so much we should just go back there .And yes Amanda we will be going back to them .hope you work on your very poor attitude because coming form a high end hairdresser who works in bridal the dress and the look is the main experience for the bride so you should be more kind during this already stressful experience.

I am not responding here to contest what you felt or experienced, I do just want to clarify some things. When asking everyone to wipe their feet before coming into th...
e shop, I noticed someone's shoes were still squeaking when they walked in further, so I asked if they could wipe them just because I wouldn't want any of the gowns to drag over any possible dirt from outside that could have come in on the wet shoes. We take pride in keeping our samples in top shape. I also didn't want anyone to slip if there was water on the floor or if their shoes were still wet. There was no mention of "uncontrollably annoying" sound. I would never say that, but I do very much apologize if the comment made to wipe the shoes sounded rude.
I do want to state that we do not body shame here at Lorien. In fact, we make sure that anyone who does such a thing is asked to reel in their comments because it can be so detrimental to the bride. It was said, in a jest way, that we "would go out of business" if ALL we carried was smaller sizes, as we tend to order, on average, a size 16, so it is easier to clip a smaller bride into a larger gown rather than having a bunch of smaller size samples that some brides could possibly not get into.
Again, I very, very much apologize if you felt that what was said was rude, I did not mean it that way AT ALL. There was in no way any body shaming intended as I would NEVER do that to any of my clients. Or to anyone ever. I am very very against such a thing, especially being a plus-size woman that has experienced a lot of body shaming in my life, ESPECIALLY in the bridal industry.
Lastly, and most importantly, I HONESTLY wanted the bride to go back to Karoza because she found the gown she was most excited about there.
Perhaps that is not something you expect to hear from another bridal shop, but when a bride finds her gown, I can tell, and if it is at another shop, that's what I want for that bride! Of course it was good for her to come in and make sure there was nothing here at Lorien that would compete with her favorite there, but when I was telling her "I think you've found your gown, you need to go back to Karoza," I was being 100% honest and not IN ANY WAY malicious or facetious.
Sorry for the long response, but I take every criticism to heart, and if anyone at Lorien is accused of body shaming, it hurts personally. We do not condone such a thing, and I believe there was just a miscommunication in what was being said and how it was being perceived. It is my fault for not seeing that I needed to explain even more thoroughly that I was being totally serious when saying the bride needed to go back to the other shop to get her gown. I truly meant it, and was happy for the bride because I knew, when she was trying everything on here and not finding anything that compared to that favorite at the other shop, that the one she had found over there was the one she should purchase for her wedding day.
I so very much apologize for any unpleasant feelings received during your appointment. None of that was intended, and I wish the bride the best on her wedding day!

The dress she ordered in ended up being the winner and amanda suggested I custom order the length to save me time and money in alternations (much appreciated)! I had a tight deadline to pick up my dress ( I live on the east coast and was flying in just for that) and when Amanda found out it may not arrive in time she worked her magic with the manufacturer to ensure it was there when my flight landed. But throughout the week I kept having second thoughts about my dress. I kept perusing the Lorien site and found a dress that gave me that "feeling". I called Amanda and told her my dilemma. She was so sweet and told me that since the dress I chose hadn't been ordered yet, she could reverse it and use the money I had paid toward a different dress. She was very accommodating and let me come in again and try on my dream dress. It was absolutely perfect.
Every appointment I had with Amanda was so friendly and fun. I am so incredibly happy that I found her salon. Amanda makes sure that you feel at home and is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. y appointment, and Amanda was so accommodating as well as excited for me. I made it obvious from my first email that LotR is my jam, so she said she’d have the LotR-themed dressing area ready for me and would have the soundtrack playing during my appointment. So obviously my appointment was a magical experience as soon as I walked in! Amanda had so many gorgeous gowns for me to try on. She nailed the style and vibe I had described over email, and she also threw in some options for fun, like a gown with long, elegant bell sleeves that was very Arwen/Lady Galadriel. At that point she was running the shop solo due to the pandemic, and each time any gown is tried, she sanitizes and steams it - So it really said a lot that she brought out the “fun” options knowing I’d likely choose something else and it would just mean more work for her later! As I started to narrow down my selections, she had lots of different accessories to try, too. I was pretty anti-veil up until this point, but Amanda started bringing out some epic cape veil options that ended up inspiring me to get a custom set of veil “wings” made to go with my gown. (Amanda was of course the one to recommend the veil designer who created my wings for me!) At the end of my appointment, I said Yes to the Dress with the Concerning Hobbits theme playing in the background, and then I got to wield a replica of Glamdring while taking photos in The Dress - So to say that this was the perfect wedding dress experience for me would be an understatement! I am so glad Lorien Bridal exists - Outside of all the fun, nerdy stuff, Amanda is so knowledgeable and welcoming, and her shop has a relaxed and more personal vibe than other bridal boutiques. (I’d gone to one other beforehand to narrow down what styles I liked to prepare for my Lorien visit - Way-too-bright lights, bumping music, no thank you!) She might even be part wizard because not only did I not expect to be down with the veil situation, but the details in the gown I fell in love with were so different than I expected for my dress! es. I had been stressed about the dress buying process because I didn’t think I’d feel comfortable in a traditional bridal boutique and I had no idea something like Lorien even existed! At my actual appointment, Amanda, the shop owner, was super helpful. She asked me a few questions about what I was looking for, what I didn’t want, and what my budget was. Then I got to pull dresses I wanted to try on and she pulled some as well. My wedding is celestial themed and Amanda totally understood what I was looking for. I felt super comfortable trying on the dresses and communicating what I liked and didn’t like about each one. I could tell Amanda really has an eye for this stuff and came up with the best idea to use fabric from one dress to create a cape to go with another dress! At the end of my appointment I was torn between two dresses and decided to come back when my sisters were in town. Amanda wasn’t pushy at all about purchasing and even suggested I check out other shops in the meantime. When I came back for my second appointment, my sisters and I had a great time and Amanda was so patient with all the changing back and forth between the dresses. Overall, I had a really great experience and am so excited for my dress. I highly recommend checking out this shop especially if you consider yourself more of a non-traditional bride!

I ended up purchasing my dream dress through Lorien and the entire experience was really excellent. The dress I purchased wasn’t one that Amanda carried in stock but was ordered as a sample for me to try on. Each time I went I felt welcomed and in a totally safe space. I’m a size 10-12 and was able to comfortably try on almost every single gown in her shop. I had other bridal shopping experiences where I was relegated to the plus size section where there was a lack of dresses.
I have recommended her to everybody I know who is getting married. Her shop is lovely and deserves so much recognition!
I had only gone to one store before Lorien before deciding to buy a dress from here. Lorien gave me such a great experience. Everything from the ambiance, to the tiny details and references found in the store, and finally the reasonable pricing...
of the dresses. I reached out to Amanda on Instagram and she was able to set up an appointment with me and followed up with me to confirm the appointment. Although most of my guests were running late, my bridesmaid and I to pick out some dresses. Some boutiques don't allow you to do that, which made the experience a lot more fun. Not only that, my guests and I were the only people in the store, making wedding dress shopping a fun, memorable, and individualized experience that I will cherish.
She made sure to ask about my budget, making sure to stick to the lower end of it. She asked me questions about what I liked and didn't like in the dresses I tried on from the day before at a different store. In addition, she was extremely helpful. I had no idea wedding dresses had to be put on a certain way and she immediately fixed that. I had gone to a store before this and was not given any guidance at all.
Towards the end of the appointment, I was stuck on two dresses. Both were around the same price point, with similar shapes but different sleeves. She gave me some guidance again and showed me how the dress affected where it sat on my waist, which ultimately ended my indecisiveness.
For those of you who are on the fence about visiting this place, please do so! She is a great and friendly stylist who will not pressure you and will help you find your dress for your special day. My siblings and friends enjoyed coming as well and will want to come here for their own wedding someday.
My only advice for those who are planning a visit is to park in the Exchange Parking Lot (115 Artsakh Ave, Glendale, CA 91206). It's parid parking and only a short walk to the boutique from there, but it was pretty cheap.

on on new styles that were coming in that were in line with my vision. Parking was easy and nearby. I could also bring more guests that other salons, as she runs one appointment at a time. I was ultimately disappointed in the selection of plus sizes, as there were not many, and the structure of the dresses were not as supportive as what I was seeking. I found that the unlined dresses were extremely itchy. If I were a slimmer bride I would have loved the selection.

Hi Emily! Thanks for the kind words, and I apologize that you didn't feel we had enough plus-size gowns for you. I wish we had more as well. In fact, half of our next season of sample gowns that we have coming in in Spring are a size 18 or high...
er. We try to get in the best structured gowns for any size over a 16 as that is a major priority for anyone that's curvy like us, so anything that doesn't seem to have the right amount of structure is sampled in a 12 or 14 with us instead of a 20 or so. Sounds like excuses, though! Haha. Sorry about that, I wish we could have found your gown here, but if you would like to come back in to try others on when the new season comes in, or if you would like to just come back in to look for accessories, let us know!

PS - I agree that "unlined" gowns (usually illusion straps or necklines) can feel itchy, but that is mostly a fit issue, as once the gown is fitted to you and not moving/rubbing, it shouldn't feel as itchy. Just wanted to clarify that since "itchy" can sometimes be misconstrued as "cheap" and the fabrics on our designers' gowns are not cheap.

I will add that if you don’t identify as a nerd, you still need to check out Lorien. There is something for everyone, and the dresses don’t feel like cosplay or aggressive nods to fandoms. She exuded positivity and excitement throughout the whole appointment and provided so many accessories for me to try with the GORGEOUS selection of dresses (if you want Maggie Sottero, come HERE!). She made me feel like a queen, and yet the shop is so quirky and cute that I also felt very comfortable and casual during the process. It was the perfect combination. I was still undecided on my dress leaving the appointment, but I turned to my friends and said, "This is the first shop where I actually want to spend my money". So I came in for a second appointment a few weeks later by myself, ordered my dream dress, and feel completely at peace that I gave my business to one of the kindest, hard-working people in the industry.

I have been to other shops for trials and Lorien Bridal shop is like no other. Before I arrived a beautiful display of gowns in my style were ready for me with accessories. Amanda helped me into each gown and had beautiful suggestions for belts, veils, sleeves; paired to make each dress perfect for my shape and size.

Amanda at Lorien responded to my appointment request SO FAST and was extremely helpful, giving me all the info for my appointment that I needed without me even having to ask. The shop was easy to find and it’s absolutely gorgeous inside, she did an incredible job! (I almost died when I saw the Mirror of Erised in my dressing room). Amanda was also extremely knowledgeable about her stock of gowns and truly listened to what I liked and didn’t like in a dress. She was so fun and sweet and made me feel like a friend, rather than trying to rush me out the door or pushing me to buy a gown like some other horror stories I’ve heard.
I almost wish I didn’t find my gown on the first trip so I could go back again just to try on more beautiful dresses and hang out with her!
Now she doesn’t have hundreds of gowns like David’s Bridal or some other chain, but she had a wide variety, no dress looked the same at all, and they were all so beautiful! It was nice to not be overwhelmed with too many choices and it really helped me nail down the silhouette I wanted.

it is definitely possible to stay within budget, even if you're looking on the slightly lower end of the pricing scale. The first dress I tried on what "the one", but I tried on a few other beautiful gowns too. Even though I really liked the first dress, there was no pressure from Amanda to buy, but when I did say "yes to the dress" she definitely helped make it a special moment. There's a cute tradition she keeps up for brides that say yes, so it just felt like an all around great experience. Highly recommend!

I've been working in the bridal industry since 2015, and been a big nerd my whole life. Ever since I started working in this industry I had the dream to open my own shop. I wanted it to be whimsical, forest-themed with trees filling the space, and geeky decor everywhere. I am happy to say that I am currently sitting at a desk inside that very dream of a shop. I got the vibe from so many brides over the years that they just wanted to quit the boring trips to the same old shops, so Lorien, the whimsical alternative you've been dreaming about, is here!
