I've been working in the bridal industry since 2015, and been a big nerd my whole life. Ever since I started working in this industry I had the dream to open my own shop. I wanted it to be whimsical, forest-themed with trees filling the space, and geeky decor everywhere. I am happy to say that I am currently sitting at a desk inside that very dream of a shop. I got the vibe from so many brides over the years that they just wanted to quit the boring trips to the same old shops, so Lorien, the whimsical alternative you've been dreaming about, is here!

Oh where do I even start with Lorien Bridal? Before I'd even truly begun the wedding planning process, I knew I had to go to Lorien Bridal for my dress. While I wasn't 100% I'd be walking away with one of the gowns, everything I'd seen from Amanda's curated collection on social media made it highly likely I'd find The One at Lorien. It's not a spoiler that I did, and the dress itself was everything I wanted and more, but the highlight of the experience really was Amanda herself. My dress appointment was the first major step in our planning process and having Amanda recognize that we were a little out of our depth and give us clear outlines of what to consider with wearing a wedding dress was helpful. The entire experience started out with nervous anticipation and ended with an absolutely thrilled bride to be in only a few hours. Being able to describe a blend of nerdy aesthetics and preferred color schemes and asking Amanda what dresses she thought would fit well turned out to be the perfect plan, as she surprised me with several that made saying yes to one of them so much harder. Truly the only downside is that I wish there were more reasons to get wedding dresses because I'd go back to Lorien bridal in a heartbeat. As it is, I can only give the utmost praise I can to a wonderful boutique and its charming, kind owner. And to recommend her to any bride looking for a whimsical, fantastical, and plus-size inclusive dress!

Amanda is so passionate about what she does and it shows. She is like a fairy godmother in that she knows the exact dress that you need, which might not be the dress you think you want. She helped me find a beautiful dress that looked better on me then I could have imagined!

Amanda was absolutely incredible from the very first moment I entered the salon, she was attentive and listened to all of my notes of what I was looking for in a dress; the dress I ended up choosing could not have been more perfect for my wedding and she even took into consideration my request to have sleeves for my dress and whipped them out as if from no where and they matched my dress perfectly and they weren't even from the same designer...all of my nerd dreams came true in Amanda's salon and I would recommend her to any and everyone looking for a whimsical or dreamy dress with that unique factor

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Lorien and I recommend this shop to every bride I know! Amanda is incredibly knowledgeable, fun to work with, and so kind. I was not really sure what kind of dress I was looking for and Amanda patiently worked with me to find the perfect dress. Her inventory is beautifully unique/not like everything you have seen in other stores and her ability to understand what you might not be able to articulate about the dresses borders on mind reading! Additionally, I appreciated how up front and clear she was about the whole process, from trying to purchasing to alterations etc. I never once felt I was being "sold" on something I didn't love and she patiently and thoroughly responds to any questions, giving you any space you need to make a well-informed decision. Amanda has created a really wonderful and special boutique/experience that deserves all the praise!

Lorien was the first bridal boutique I went to and I’m so glad because Amanda made me feel comfortable and confident. I had such an amazing experience! Cannot recommend Lorien Bridal enough! Amanda was totally amazing to work with and had a vast array of expertise that came in handy when trying on dresses. She made sure to stay within my budget unless prompted otherwise, and really helped narrow down the styles I liked so I would know what to ask for at other shops. The selection of dresses was great and the ambience of the store was so fun! I am proud to be a Lorien bride now, and recommend any bride check it out.

Amanda is THE BEST! She asked lots of questions to make sure she was bringing me dresses she knew I would love, and included some wild cards just in case. She understood what I wanted right away and I loved everything she had me try on and I found THE ONE within a few dresses. I'm not the most confident in my body, so was nervous going into the appointment, but Amanda made sure I felt beautiful. I highly highly recommend Lorien and Amanda. <3

I came in at Lorien Bridal pretty open-minded with a few things I wanted and did not want. I explained to Amanda the vibe I wanted for my wedding, and I showed the pictures and everything. She did her part perfectly by picking out good options. She listened intently to what I liked about the dresses she picked out and what I didn't like. Finally, she pulled out this dress that I didn't peek at until I turned around to face myself in the mirror, and I instantly fell in love with that dress. It has everything that I wanted and more, and when she put on the accessories and the cathedral veil that I wanted, the waterworks came in, and the people who came with me, including myself, cried. I just wanted to get married already in that dress. Amanda not only provided guidance and expertise, but she also gave me good advice, which I know will be extremely helpful as I continue with my wedding planning. The boutique itself is so beautiful, I love that there is a cute bathroom and that it is wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend this bridal boutique, especially if you are a plus-size bride or a bride with a specific fandom theme (Star Wars, Lord of the Rings etc.).

I said yes to the dress at Lorien!!
I could write a novel as to how much I love Lorien and Amanda. It's one of the most unique bridal salons I've ever visited. The attention to detail and curation of the decor is so magical, it truly sets Lorien apart. And you must use the restroom while you're there!
I'd been to 6 different stores before I ended at Lorien. Amanda asked smart questions about what I liked and didn't like about the other stores I went to and dresses I tried on. I showed her a photo of my top two choices and she explained how one of them wasn't quite hitting me at my natural waist, something I hadn't considered! I so appreciated her transparency. If I didn't like a dress, she'd tell me that's great! We know what we don't want them.
Amanda really understands how to dress all kinds of shapes and sizes unlike any other stylist I had. She 100% will help you find the most flattering dress that will make you feel absolutely beautiful.
I feel so lucky to be a Lorien bride :)

TLDR Amanda is an angel, and all geeky, nerdy, quirky, fandom-loving, nontraditional brides should make Lorien their FIRST stop.
Amanda is the store owner and she runs the whole place herself. I don't know how she does it all and still is such a sweetheart.
And a genius! I came in with a low budget, a somewhat nontraditional wedding in mind, and a lot of body image issues.
Her picks were wonderful, and even though I ended up not loving certain dresses on me as much as I thought I would online, she knew exactly how to pivot.
The appointment was so fun, and she was fully accepting of all my weirdness.
I did not find my dress that day, but Amanda showed me a dress that will be coming in later that she thinks would be perfect for me. I can hardly wait to come back and get my dress.

I had an absolutely wonderful time finding a dress at Lorien. Amanda was so great at finding the right style for me and hoping me find the right dress. The process was very easy and I am quite excited to get the dress. The store is so cure, very welcoming, especially for those who like fantasy/sci-fi. There was absolutely no pressure for me to make a decision right away or feel like I had to get a dress from her. I did spend some time thinking on the 2 options I found there. This ended up being the only Bridal Salon I went to - why keep looking when you find somewhere you feel comfortable.

I had a wonderful experience at Lorien Bridal. I was looking for something non-traditional Amanda was so helpful in helping me find my dream wedding dress! I did 2 bookings and on number two I made my choice. Amanda was so patient with me! I recommend this shop if you're looking for a comfortable judgment free environment.

If you are a nerd looking for the place to find your wedding dress this is your shop! The comfort I felt when walking into this shop was unbelievable!
Amanda is so welcoming and nice, also she knows her stuff! She will go out of her way to make sure you will find the dress of your dreams!! There is no judgement here going to other dress shops with my nerdy dreams and them giving me the weirdest looks, but talking to Amanda she understood and found the dress of my dreams! And the pricing is amazing!! I can't praise this place enough!! Love love love!!

I would like to preface this by saying that I have a coworker who previously worked with Amanda and suggested her knowing that I am down to my core an "alternative bride" (in the sense that my special interest is and always has been Star Wars). I kind of Trusted that I would be able to find what I wanted at Lorien, and made it my first stop in my dress search. I would also like to mention that I have exactly 0 self esteem and was fully prepared to have to mitigate an emotional breakdown from the stress of being a 6' 185lb bride trying on dresses (which has not historically been fun).
Amanda was extremely accommodating of me and my emotional support lightsaber, and even moved us into her Star Wars room! It was amazing! I only had one picture for reference and not much of an idea of what I would want, but she clocked me pretty quick and pulled an assortment of shapes and cuts for me to try on, but she even had the gown that I had a reference picture of (which I had joked, upon taking the reference picture a few weeks prior, that it was 'my gown')! I always do my clothes shopping knowing what I'm walking in for already so I was really nerve wracked doing this. Amanda was completely no-nonsense though, kind but down-to-brass-tacks and very understanding. She was up front about pricing as well, which definitely helped.
I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate having both guidance and instruction. We had fun trying on different shapes of dresses, and Amanda's appointments are booked at 90 minutes, but I have to be real with you I found that thing in a solid 45, first try, speed run, no strats. The dresses she pulled for me were all beautiful and we had it down to three and we were going to start again with those, but Amanda suggested accessorizing the first and honestly she knew before I did because she saw my face first.
She really did help and encourage and make me feel genuinely beautiful, which was so special because on any other day I have literally never felt that way before. It was a beautiful and well-kept salon, quiet and private and everything I could have asked for. I was worried afterwards that I had settled, but looking back at the pictures that I took, I could never be happier. Amanda has also kept open communications after our appointment letting me know that the accessories I ordered (the ones she put me in, they were beautiful!) had come in early and that I could pick them up whenever I wanted without an appointment. She was very honest and straightforward about sizing with regards to my above-average height, and at no point did I feel shamed or bad about my body to any degree. She seemed like she was having fun with us, and felt very genuine and just as excited. I absolutely loved it, if I could go back and do the experience over I would with her again and again.
And yes, I did end up deciding on the dress that I had the reference picture of (it was fate! and it's also giving very Padme's summer-meadow gown, y'know. the one where she's rolling around in the flowers with Anakin).

I had the best experience at Lorien Bridal. Ashly and Amanda were so kind, and bold in the best way possible. They didn't once second guess why I didn't love the way a dress fit or look on me, while other stores "explained" that a dress that properly fit "wouldn't look like that". I loved that they let me speak freely with no judgment. I am so glad I stumbled upon this boutique, I cannot recommend this store enough. I will update my review once my dress comes in!

Between dress shopping for myself and others I have been to a LOT of bridal shops and I can honestly say Lorien is at the top of my list! ✨The shop is beautiful and has a ton of gorgeous dresses, classic and unique alike. Amanda, the owner, took care of me during my appointment and made me feel more like an old friend than just another client! Her input and expertise made all the difference and I ended up finding THE dress. I can’t tell you enough how amazing this shop and Amanda are. This experience had me in tears (happy tears lol) more than once! If you’re looking for something unique look no further. But they have classic styles too! This shop made me feel so beautiful as a plus size bride, something I was struggling to feel during the wedding dress process. I gravitated towards Lorien Bridal not only because of their beautiful selection of dresses but also because I felt so at home in their shop. With the Harry Potter corner and other fantasy motifs, I felt extremely comfortable more so than I would at another shop. Their dresses were absolutely stunning and while they don't offer in-house alterations, they provided a recommended list of vendors, one of which I chose to work with and loved!

Amanda at Lorien was amazing! She was so kind and welcoming, and she did a great job pulling dresses from the back that were like ones I had picked from the racks to try on. I ended up going with a gown she had picked, and lucky me, it fit off the rack! She also picked out a beautiful veil that went with the feeling I was going for; I felt very seen! I loved the vibe she had, and the store made this girl's nerdy heart SO happy! I could sit in there for hours and be just absolutely thrilled.

Amanda was a huge help in getting my dress!
The selection of dresses in the store has a fantastic variety, and the decor is a very fun and comfortable vibe. Trying on dresses was super easy, Amanda gave great input and advice, and ordering was a breeze once I found the dress.
When I had questions about what lining color to order she sent me pictures and pulled some dresses with the linings for me to come by and see in person. She helped with cost effective options and genuinely cared that I was comfortable with my pick.
Compared to my experience at Lorien, the other bridal shops I went to first were pushy, uncomfortable, princess nightmares. If you want to try on dresses somewhere relaxing and fun with someone who will give you an honest opinion, asks the right questions, and who treats you like an adult, I can't recommend Lorien enough!

I made an appointment at Lorien to try on dresses since it looked like they might have some more unique dresses than some of the big stores, and I originally was hoping for a blue dress (or at least a splash of blue on it). I came at my appointment time and was greeted by Amanda, who was super kind and helpful. She gave me a lot of great advice and helped me to find a dress and matching accessories that I really loved and was excited for. Unfortunately my bridal party was unable to make the appointment, so I decided to wait to purchase it since I already had an appointment elsewhere with the girls. In all honesty, the excitement of the appointment with the girls went a bit to my head and I ended up buying a dress at that fitting instead. Out of all the decisions I made for my wedding, the dress is really the only one that I've wondered if I made the right choice. While the dress I bought was beautiful, I think the combination of the dress I originally chose and the exceptional service from Lorien would have been a better in hindsight. While I didn't end up buying my dress there, I would definitely recommend them given my experience shopping there.

Amanda at Lorien Bridal single handedly saved my wedding! I cannot say enough good things about her and her shop. But I'll try: After a series of unexpected events, I had to find a new wedding dress two weeks before my wedding. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. After an emotional breakdown & realizing I had no dress for my wedding, I was referred to Lorien and Amanda moved mountains to help me not only find an INCREDIBLE DRESS... but found me a dress that I love EVEN MORE than my original one! She found me my dream dress. It's so ME. My mom, maid of honor & bridesmaids agree. It encompassed every quality I told her I wanted. And I didn't expect to get them all in one. I am completely obsessed. I've never felt more beautiful. We had to get the dress overnighted - which she made sure happened - and she referred me to a tailor who also made miracles happen. I found my dream dress at Lorien. And it's because of Amanda. She just gets it and is sooooo wonderful to work with. She's the nicest, sweetest person that makes the process happy and fun. She didn't try to push any of her garments on me to buy either. She just genuinely wanted me to feel special and held space and time for me to do that. I am forever grateful. Also, her boutique is the loveliest space of all the shops I went to. She's decorated it in a way that feels intimate and special.

Amanda is absolutely amazing. Within minutes of my first visit, even though I had little idea of what I liked or wanted, she demonstrated professionalism, kindness and utmost dedication to her craft as a stylist. Her boutique is beautiful, always clean and its very apparent she takes a lot of pride in everything she does. At no point did I feel rushed through my appointment the way I was at other salons and the questions she asked me were for the purpose of helping me verbalize what I liked and what I didn't like about certain dresses. She really put forth an effort to find styles that were flattering and at no point did she make me feel overwhelmed to make a decision at any point. She even followed up outside our appointment time to show me pictures of other dresses we didn't have time to look at during the appointment which was so kind, I appreciated it so much.
I went to one more salon after Lorien, and afterwards, I knew that no matter what my dress was gonna be, I was going to get it from Lorien. And when I did book my second appointment, I brought all kinds of accessories I'm considering wearing with my dress and she rolled with all the crowns, and statement piece necklaces--it was so fun to be creative and by the end of it, I ended up saying 'yes' to a dress that was so me, I can't stop looking at pictures of it.
Not to mention I'm a plus size bride and I had all kinds of anxieties going into this process and Amanda handled all of it with grace. I'm really grateful that she was a part of this process, and I cannot recommend her enough to anyone who is like me and is afraid of traditional bridal salons. Thank you Amanda, you're the best!

Such an amazing bridal boutique! Amanda helped me find the dress of my dreams off the rack because I had a short turnaround time. She also help me find the most perfect veil! She really knows how to make you feel special, and is very good about letting the bride feel in charge of making the right decision on her dress. Her store is absolutely beautiful and all the themed dressing rooms are amazing! I could not have asked for a better experience or a more perfect dress. She also referred me to an amazing alteration place. We will definitely be back her for my sisters wedding!

This was the most amazing moment ive had trying on wedding dresses. This was the first place that welcomed me in and i didnt have to worry about my size and only having 3 dresses to look at that were meant for plus size girls to hide everything. She welcomed us in to a nerdy paradise that was just absolutely stunning and magical. For the first time i was treated like a bride and not a burden and for the first time i felt like a bride after she helped with accessories and the dress I actually cried i was so happy. If you want the most magical welcoming place to go bridal shopping go to lorien you wont regret it for a moment!!

I loved working with Amanda even before I stepped into her beautifully decorated bridal boutique. Even through email, Amanda was attentive, kindhearted, and detail-oriented whenever I had questions.
I watched all her Tik Toks and looked at all the photos I could of her bridal shop online because I was so excited about our appointment! But nothing compares to stepping foot into the whimsical and floral scene of her bridal shop.
I felt so at home surrounded by floral trees and “nerdy” decor from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. I can’t wait to visit again to pick up my dress and choose our accessories! I will definitely recommend this shop to anyone and everyone, especially nontraditional brides looking for anything but your classic white dresses.

Please Do not come here . This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. My neice is getting married and as every young bride is very excited, she did all her home work made appointments at the dress shops she knew would have the style she was looking for . We had a appointment at the bridal shop across the street earlier at karoza bridal who were extremely kind and very helpful, there we found two beautiful dresses my neice loved but still wanted just to make sure she saw all her options so we went to her next appointment at this place as soon as we enter it was horrible. It was a heavy rain day since we have been having storms in la for weeks now and immediately the owner very rudely told my neices mother in law to do a better job wiping her feet cause the sound is so uncontrollably annoying to her and she would be forced to mop her floors now . Then proceeded to body shame my petite neice that she dosnt cater to women who are petite because she would go out of business and that if she liked the other dress at the other store so much we should just go back there .And yes Amanda we will be going back to them .hope you work on your very poor attitude because coming form a high end hairdresser who works in bridal the dress and the look is the main experience for the bride so you should be more kind during this already stressful experience.

ponding here to contest what you felt or experienced, I do just want to clarify some things. When asking everyone to wipe their feet before coming into the shop, I noticed someone's shoes were still squeaking when they walked in further, so I asked if they could wipe them just because I wouldn't want any of the gowns to drag over any possible dirt from outside that could have come in on the wet shoes. We take pride in keeping our samples in top shape. I also didn't want anyone to slip if there was water on the floor or if their shoes were still wet. There was no mention of "uncontrollably annoying" sound. I would never say that, but I do very much apologize if the comment made to wipe the shoes sounded rude.
I do want to state that we do not body shame here at Lorien. In fact, we make sure that anyone who does such a thing is asked to reel in their comments because it can be so detrimental to the bride. It was said, in a jest way, that we "would go out of business" if ALL we carried was smaller sizes, as we tend to order, on average, a size 16, so it is easier to clip a smaller bride into a larger gown rather than having a bunch of smaller size samples that some brides could possibly not get into.
Again, I very, very much apologize if you felt that what was said was rude, I did not mean it that way AT ALL. There was in no way any body shaming intended as I would NEVER do that to any of my clients. Or to anyone ever. I am very very against such a thing, especially being a plus-size woman that has experienced a lot of body shaming in my life, ESPECIALLY in the bridal industry.
Lastly, and most importantly, I HONESTLY wanted the bride to go back to Karoza because she found the gown she was most excited about there.
Perhaps that is not something you expect to hear from another bridal shop, but when a bride finds her gown, I can tell, and if it is at another shop, that's what I want for that bride! Of course it was good for her to come in and make sure there was nothing here at Lorien that would compete with her favorite there, but when I was telling her "I think you've found your gown, you need to go back to Karoza," I was being 100% honest and not IN ANY WAY malicious or facetious.
Sorry for the long response, but I take every criticism to heart, and if anyone at Lorien is accused of body shaming, it hurts personally. We do not condone such a thing, and I believe there was just a miscommunication in what was being said and how it was being perceived. It is my fault for not seeing that I needed to explain even more thoroughly that I was being totally serious when saying the bride needed to go back to the other shop to get her gown. I truly meant it, and was happy for the bride because I knew, when she was trying everything on here and not finding anything that compared to that favorite at the other shop, that the one she had found over there was the one she should purchase for her wedding day.
I so very much apologize for any unpleasant feelings received during your appointment. None of that was intended, and I wish the bride the best on her wedding day!

I had the most fabulous time here! I found my dream dress - the first one I tried on, but all of the ones in Lorien I could have totally worn down the aisle.
Amanda made me feel at home, like I’ve been at that store tons of time in the past. It takes all the drama you want to feel in wearing the most incredible day of your life, but never any of the drama that makes you feel on edge in formalwear boutiques.
I loved the geeky decor, but even if that’s not your jam, you’ll totally feel at-home here. All you need to like is good vibes, beautiful lighting, and the most beautiful dresses you’ve ever seen.
Amanda really takes into account every range of fashion senses - you can find any dress here. The dresses are also very budget-friendly without every sacrificing quality. It was a super fun, relaxed experience.
The dress I found feels more like “me” than any other outfit I’ve ever worn in my 27 years.

I had a wonderful experience here. Amanda was friendly and helpful throughout the process, and the feeling overall was low pressure, which put me at ease. The salon is intimate but still spacious, and the fandom design is so fun. The selection of gowns was perfect, with a good variety but not racks and racks of gowns to navigate. Happy to say I got my gown from here!

Lorien had such a diverse collection of dresses it was a dream to shop there. When booking my appointment I had a specific dress I wanted to try on. Amanda went out of her way to ensure she had it in store for my appointment. From start to finish the appointment was fantastic. Amanda provided suggestions and helped me pull some beautiful options to try to ensure I really found The One. The dress she ordered in ended up being the winner and amanda suggested I custom order the length to save me time and money in alternations (much appreciated)! I had a tight deadline to pick up my dress ( I live on the east coast and was flying in just for that) and when Amanda found out it may not arrive in time she worked her magic with the manufacturer to ensure it was there when my flight landed. From start to finish Amanda made finding and picking up my dress an experience, and not just another appointment.

My experience at Lorien Bridal was one of a kind! It was absolutely magical in every way. Amanda is an incredible business owner and is an absolute delight to work with. Her salon is decorated with different themes from Harry Potter to Star Wars to Lord of the Rings, and it's done in such a classy way! She let my family and I go through the racks and pick out some dresses to try on and she selected some herself. I found a dress that day!
But throughout the week I kept having second thoughts about my dress. I kept perusing the Lorien site and found a dress that gave me that "feeling". I called Amanda and told her my dilemma. She was so sweet and told me that since the dress I chose hadn't been ordered yet, she could reverse it and use the money I had paid toward a different dress. She was very accommodating and let me come in again and try on my dream dress. It was absolutely perfect.
Every appointment I had with Amanda was so friendly and fun. I am so incredibly happy that I found her salon. Amanda makes sure that you feel at home and is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Lorien Bridal is the best shop around. Hands down the place to go. And your appointment is the only one happening, so you really get one on one attention!

My appointment was absolutely magical. Amanda is a beautiful soul who welcomed me right in. She had such amazing ideas and the selection of dresses was outstanding. The first dress I tried on was the winner and the price was better than I could have expected. The store itself feels like you are stepping into a fairy tale. I recommend it to everyone!

This was by far the best wedding dress shopping experience in Los Angeles! It was comfortable and fun and I didn’t feel pressured to get a dress that wasn’t fully me or my vision. Amanda was incredibly helpful without being pushy. She cares about the brides! The prices were AMAZING, so much so that I got two dresses!! The store was so cute and the experience was just so fantastic! Can’t recommend enough!!

Lorien Bridal Boutique should be your first (and last) stop! Amanda was AMAZING, even right from my very first email inquiry. She was so helpful and knowledgeable. She asks all the right intuitive questions to really dig your dream dress out of you. I had my mind kind of set on one dress I had previously tried, but by the end of my appointment I walked out with something completely different and I couldn't be happier. I am still beaming from the experience. Aside from the amazing customer service, she also has a wide variety of really fun and unique gowns and accessories that you won't find elsewhere. Also, a very body positive and LGBTQIA+ friendly space, which is really awesome <3

I started following Lorien Bridal on Instagram shortly after they opened; I was not yet engaged, but as a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I already knew that was where I’d purchase my wedding dress one day! When the time came, I emailed to set up my appointment, and Amanda was so accommodating as well as excited for me. I made it obvious from my first email that LotR is my jam, so she said she’d have the LotR-themed dressing area ready for me and would have the soundtrack playing during my appointment. So obviously my appointment was a magical experience as soon as I walked in! Amanda had so many gorgeous gowns for me to try on. She nailed the style and vibe I had described over email, and she also threw in some options for fun, like a gown with long, elegant bell sleeves that was very Arwen/Lady Galadriel. At that point she was running the shop solo due to the pandemic, and each time any gown is tried, she sanitizes and steams it - So it really said a lot that she brought out the “fun” options knowing I’d likely choose something else and it would just mean more work for her later! As I started to narrow down my selections, she had lots of different accessories to try, too. I was pretty anti-veil up until this point, but Amanda started bringing out some epic cape veil options that ended up inspiring me to get a custom set of veil “wings” made to go with my gown. (Amanda was of course the one to recommend the veil designer who created my wings for me!) At the end of my appointment, I said Yes to the Dress with the Concerning Hobbits theme playing in the background, and then I got to wield a replica of Glamdring while taking photos in The Dress - So to say that this was the perfect wedding dress experience for me would be an understatement! I am so glad Lorien Bridal exists - Outside of all the fun, nerdy stuff, Amanda is so knowledgeable and welcoming, and her shop has a relaxed and more personal vibe than other bridal boutiques. (I’d gone to one other beforehand to narrow down what styles I liked to prepare for my Lorien visit - Way-too-bright lights, bumping music, no thank you!) She might even be part wizard because not only did I not expect to be down with the veil situation, but the details in the gown I fell in love with were so different than I expected for my dress! Many thanks to Amanda for an unforgettable wedding dress experience that led me towards feeling like a magical elven princess on my wedding day.

I absolutely loved my experience with Amanda at Lorien Bridal. She was thorough, receptive, and understood what I did and didn't like about each dress. She was also incredibly responsive and sweet when I asked her about when my dress would come in as I was flying in from out of town. Lorien Bridal has a great selection of dresses without being overwhelming and has so many styles that you are bound to find something you like. If you are in the LA area and want to support a local boutique, definitely check out Lorien!

I had a good feeling the moment I stepped through the doors of Lorien Bridal. Amanda was so friendly and welcoming, and we had such a great time. The selection was exactly what I was looking for. I had already tried a dozen beautiful gowns that just weren’t ‘me’ - I found the one here and felt incredible in it. She also gave me a great referral to a seamstress who made the gown fit absolutely perfectly. I was getting compliments on the dress all night long. THANK YOU!

I LOVED my experience. It was so relaxed and fun. Amanda has beautiful dresses and she's just a really cool person too. Very helpful and I trusted her every step of the way. This was the first place I went to and I found my dress pretty quickly so maybe I got lucky or she has a great collection and fantastic taste. I LOVE how nerdy it is. I was in the Harry Potter section and enjoyed every minute of my time there.

I had the best experience at Lorien! I originally found the shop because I was wanting to try on a specific dress and the designer’s website said I could try it on there. I was happily surprised to see that Lorien is specifically for nerdy brides. I had been stressed about the dress buying process because I didn’t think I’d feel comfortable in a traditional bridal boutique and I had no idea something like Lorien even existed! At my actual appointment, Amanda, the shop owner, was super helpful. She asked me a few questions about what I was looking for, what I didn’t want, and what my budget was. Then I got to pull dresses I wanted to try on and she pulled some as well. My wedding is celestial themed and Amanda totally understood what I was looking for. I felt super comfortable trying on the dresses and communicating what I liked and didn’t like about each one. I could tell Amanda really has an eye for this stuff and came up with the best idea to use fabric from one dress to create a cape to go with another dress! At the end of my appointment I was torn between two dresses and decided to come back when my sisters were in town. Amanda wasn’t pushy at all about purchasing and even suggested I check out other shops in the meantime. When I came back for my second appointment, my sisters and I had a great time and Amanda was so patient with all the changing back and forth between the dresses. Overall, I had a really great experience and am so excited for my dress. I highly recommend checking out this shop especially if you consider yourself more of a non-traditional bride!

So many wonderful things to say about this shop and it's owner Amanda that I hardly know where to begin! First, the entire them and idea behind her store is a fantasy lovers paradise, she gets that nerds get married too! She was so on point with thr dresses she pulled for me, I never pulled one myself because she got everything I asked for in one fell swoop!! So happy that I purchased my wedding dress from this amazing small business. Fun, non judgemental environment without the used car salesman vibes of most dress shops. Thank you Amanda!!

I visited Lorien thrice before purchasing my wedding gown there. Amanda, the owner, is extremely sweet and communicated with me throughout my search process. The shop is beautiful and would appeal to anyone (not just those who appreciate LOTR, HP, Disney, and Star Wars :)).
I ended up purchasing my dream dress through Lorien and the entire experience was really excellent. The dress I purchased wasn’t one that Amanda carried in stock but was ordered as a sample for me to try on. Each time I went I felt welcomed and in a totally safe space. I’m a size 10-12 and was able to comfortably try on almost every single gown in her shop. I had other bridal shopping experiences where I was relegated to the plus size section where there was a lack of dresses.
I have recommended her to everybody I know who is getting married. Her shop is lovely and deserves so much recognition!

I had only gone to one store before Lorien before deciding to buy a dress from here. Lorien gave me such a great experience. Everything from the ambiance, to the tiny details and references found in the store, and finally the reasonable pricing of the dresses. I reached out to Amanda on Instagram and she was able to set up an appointment with me and followed up with me to confirm the appointment. Although most of my guests were running late, my bridesmaid and I to pick out some dresses. Some boutiques don't allow you to do that, which made the experience a lot more fun. Not only that, my guests and I were the only people in the store, making wedding dress shopping a fun, memorable, and individualized experience that I will cherish.
She made sure to ask about my budget, making sure to stick to the lower end of it. She asked me questions about what I liked and didn't like in the dresses I tried on from the day before at a different store. In addition, she was extremely helpful. I had no idea wedding dresses had to be put on a certain way and she immediately fixed that. I had gone to a store before this and was not given any guidance at all.
Towards the end of the appointment, I was stuck on two dresses. Both were around the same price point, with similar shapes but different sleeves. She gave me some guidance again and showed me how the dress affected where it sat on my waist, which ultimately ended my indecisiveness.
For those of you who are on the fence about visiting this place, please do so! She is a great and friendly stylist who will not pressure you and will help you find your dress for your special day. My siblings and friends enjoyed coming as well and will want to come here for their own wedding someday.
My only advice for those who are planning a visit is to park in the Exchange Parking Lot (115 Artsakh Ave, Glendale, CA 91206). It's parid parking and only a short walk to the boutique from there, but it was pretty cheap.

I did not buy my dress at Lorien, but I had a great shopping experience with Amanda. I loved the themed dressing areas and the dressing room was spacious. Amanda was attentive, kind, and followed up with me after my appointment with information on new styles that were coming in that were in line with my vision. Parking was easy and nearby. I could also bring more guests that other salons, as she runs one appointment at a time. I was ultimately disappointed in the selection of plus sizes, as there were not many, and the structure of the dresses were not as supportive as what I was seeking. I found that the unlined dresses were extremely itchy. If I were a slimmer bride I would have loved the selection.

us-size gowns for you. I wish we had more as well. In fact, half of our next season of sample gowns that we have coming in in Spring are a size 18 or higher. We try to get in the best structured gowns for any size over a 16 as that is a major priority for anyone that's curvy like us, so anything that doesn't seem to have the right amount of structure is sampled in a 12 or 14 with us instead of a 20 or so. Sounds like excuses, though! Haha. Sorry about that, I wish we could have found your gown here, but if you would like to come back in to try others on when the new season comes in, or if you would like to just come back in to look for accessories, let us know!

PS - I agree that "unlined" gowns (usually illusion straps or necklines) can feel itchy, but that is mostly a fit issue, as once the gown is fitted to you and not moving/rubbing, it shouldn't feel as itchy. Just wanted to clarify that since "itchy" can sometimes be misconstrued as "cheap" and the fabrics on our designers' gowns are not cheap.

If I could leave more than 5 stars I would. Amanda was absolutely incredible. This was my very first appointment and I was so nervous. I didn’t know quite what I wanted, and I was convinced nothing would be right for me. Amanda kept it fun, casual, and framed as a learning experience. She was so keen on figuring out what I liked, and asked all the right questions. Her eye is incredible, and was able to take dresses that felt just fine and make them WOW moments with the right accessories. As someone who identifies as a bit of a nerd, the environment of the shop was icing on the cake — the Hobbit score made it all feel cozy and homey, and the nerdy touches kept it all feeling fun. I will add that if you don’t identify as a nerd, you still need to check out Lorien. There is something for everyone, and the dresses don’t feel like cosplay or aggressive nods to fandoms. Everything is so beautiful and feels carefully curated for an expansive but not overwhelming selection. Even though it was my first appointment, I have a feeling I will be back to say yes to the dress. Amanda, you are the best!

I had a really great experience here. Amanda was absolutely wonderful. She was respectful of my budget and most of the dresses in her shop were very reasonable. The selection was great, I easily found several dresses I wanted to try. I was the only bride shopping so I had her full attention. After listening to what I liked and didn’t liked about each dress, she pulled the dress I ended up picking. It’s not what I thought I’d get, but it was the most flattering and it will be perfect for my wedding day.
