Loring String Quartet

The Loring String Quartet performed for the cocktail and dinner hours at our son's wedding rehearsal dinner. what a fabulous experience for us and our guests. The quartet's music added a great touch to our event and was entertaining and very enjoyable to the guests while allowing the crowd to visit and converse comfortably. Working and communication with Conor O'Brien made the booking and planning process a breeze.

As a coordinator, the Loring String Quartet was wonderful to work with! Their lead that day did cues perfectly when it came to the ceremony, and were very professional and kind. I highly recommend!

Loring String Quartet is incredible! We wanted strings for our ceremony and cocktail hour and Conor and the rest of the group were simply wonderful! Conor was super responsive and helpful leading up to our ceremony - guiding us through selections, flow of the ceremony and timing which led to flawless music throughout our event! We even added on an extra increment of time just a few weeks before the event without a problem. Their music selection is huge and they were also open to music we requested (for example, a Fleetwood Mac song they didn’t have on their list). We requested contemporary covers for cocktail hour which was so fun and beautiful too! We got so many compliments on the beautiful music and without a doubt recommend LSQ for your event!

The Loring String Quartet was absolutely unbelievable! The moment the music started, I had tears in my eyes with pure happiness, the music flowed beautifully throughout the venue, I couldn't believe how incredible it sounded! Loring String Quartet was an absolute dream at our wedding. Conor was incredibly easy to work with, very kind, and gave his honest opinion about what would and would not work well for our ceremony. He was also quick to respond, taking out much of the stress of planning. Their repertoire is also just massive with so many fun modern songs that sound amazing on strings and ended up being such a big hit with our friends who don’t listen to classical music but do love the sound of modern hits on strings. I think the hardest part of the whole process was just deciding which songs we wanted played since they know so many, but Conor and the LSQ team were great there as well, letting us decide how much we wanted to dictate what they played vs. letting them choose. For cocktail hour we opted for the latter and just told them we wanted fun, upbeat songs played and they nailed it. Overall, I would highly recommend LSQ!

There was total ease of communication (thank you Conor O'Brien), as my wife and I expressed the desires and wishes of the bride and groom, as we specifically asked for a cello and piano. Conor was our main contact at Loring String Quartet and he always promptly responded and reached out regarding every detail. Super professional. Ruth and Bill were on time, well dressed, incredibly polite and excellent performing the music we requested. We heard nothing but kudos from many of our guests as well. Put simply, the Loring String Quartet (LSQ) was nothing short of amazing for our wedding. This is both in terms of service during planning, as well as their performance the day of. From a service perspective, Conor is a true professional to work with, and provides a refreshingly honest perspective on things to consider when bringing their group in to perform. It's about more than "the sale" to LSQ. To them, it was about making sure they provided a quality experience of a lifetime through their music. They understand that this may be a true once in a lifetime experience for most of their clients when they are hired to come in to play an event. As such, no detail about our wedding was overlooked and the results were exceptional. The really amazing thing about LSQ is their vast array of music within their repertoire. It doesn't matter what you are looking for: classical, Baroque period, pop music, and anything in between. Their range of musical numbers spans across all generations. By the end of the night, your guests will all have found something to enjoy about the group's musical selections. To top it all off, they will also specially learn music for your event if it is not currently within their collection (and an arrangement can be found). When it came time for the group to perform at our wedding, the quality of their playing really shone through. As a musician myself, it is clear to me why LSQ has separated themselves as one of the top performance groups in the Twin Cities. Rhythmically, melodically, tempo wise, and dynamics wise, their playing was top tier. Their ability to effortlessly sync all of these elements together is so hard to achieve, and yet they did it: and made it look easy. Trust me when I say, LSQ is worth the money spent. My wife and I could not have pictured a more wonderful atmosphere for our wedding, due in large part to the efforts of LSQ.

The Loring String Quartet provided beautiful music before, during and after our daughter's wedding and during the subsequent cocktail hour as well. Conor was main contact and he was very easy to work with, providing ideas when we were stuck and happily taking on new pieces. My only regret is that I was in the bride's dressing room on another floor during the prelude, so could not enjoy that music.

We’re big fans of Vitamin String Quartet, but we couldn’t afford to hire them. Instead, we found Loring String Quartet and to our ears, they were just as good. They created a relaxed environment for our guests during the cocktail hour and dinner, and they also played our first dance – seamlessly slowing down and truncating the song we chose. We heard from several guests who made a game of trying to guess the songs we picked from them to play. Conor was easy to work with and very accommodating, especially during the pandemic when our plans were delayed a year.

Conor was very knowledgeable of types of music and selecting songs for a catholic wedding. Him and the string quartet did an amazing job for our ceremony! They traveled 2+ hours out of the city for our wedding and were on time and performed perfectly. Thanks guys!
