Lori's Custom Cakes

We used Lori for our wedding cake and were unfortunately very disappointed. Her photos online looked great and she said she had experience with our preferred style so perhaps it was outsourced. The cake we received did not match our expectations at all. We asked for a pallet knife design on a chocolate raspberry cake. Her quote for a two tier was ~20% more expensive than other bakers but because she said she had experience we went with her. I had sent two emails a week before the event asking for confirmation she was still okay to make it, provided lists of flowers we were using for the wedding, color scheme and multiple reference photos. The cake itself was just fine, though the buttermilk was extremely thick. I wish I could ask for a refund, but the main takeaway would be that ask for examples of her previous work before confirming because what we received was fine, but not what we had asked for.
