Maegan made it an absolute breeze to book the spot, and was great about getting back to us with any questions we had. On the day of the wedding, her and the rest of the team at Lost River did everything they could to make our day run smoothly! The River Birch Room they have available was also the perfect place for the Bridal party to get ready/hang out and store their items during the ceremony/reception. This venue really has everything you could need.
The only thing we could possibly complain about was date availability, since almost every Saturday in the fall was already booked 18 months out, but that just means you shouldn't wait to get in touch with them!

allowed certain things (like rose petals for my ceremony), and getting permission, day of we were not allowed. The staff was not helpful, and refused to let my dad borrow a hammer when we had an issue with our personal arch. It just made the process a lot more stressful and a very unfriendly environment. The worst part of it all, is that my mom caught the staff carting away multiple boxes of alcohol that were left over from the event. They were not in charge of clean up, and had not set up at all. It was very obvious that they were taking it for themselves.
All in all, I loved the cave, it was beautiful. But I wouldn't recommend it to a couple that wasn't very flexible with their vision or plans.

However, the planning process was fairly frustrating since we had gone through three even planners and not all of the information was transferred from one to the other. There were also a few other changes and expenses that arose that we did did not expect to have and pricing seemed to fluctuate from our original contract.
All in all, it was an unforgettable evening, I just wish the planning process was a bit more organized on their end.

set up (absolutely worth the extra cost, trust us) and the overall value simply cannot be beat. You won't find a venue this cheap that's this lovely, anywhere. There's a beautiful riverside area that worked great for the ceremony, and the cave itself has a dance floor in the entrance that is completely covered by the cave and so makes a great rain location for the ceremony if needed. Take a look at their website and some of the wedding photos, you'll see why we loved it so much. A couple of things to be aware of: 1) the cave is humid, so depending on the frosting of your cake, it may start to melt; we cut our cake first thing and had no problems. 2) some areas of the cave are a little wet; they have squeegees but you should bring a bunch of old towels or something to mop up.
