We wanted a planner to do 2 key things: 1) help with the floor layout as the Ostreum was still under construction and we had some firm ideas of how we wanted the reception to flow and 2) day of coordination. After our first meeting and we explained how we wanted the reception to be laid out, we waited for the floor layout as stated in the contract "Create Floor Layout". When we received it, it had not taken into account what we had asked for, for example, family style seating. When we asked Lottie to re-do it, we got this response via email: "Please note that the package is called a PARTIAL PLANNING. Design is not included." She then directed her assistant to provide log in access to the software where the floor layout is created so we could do it ourselves. After much back and forth - all over email - she agreed to have her assistant re-do it, but by then we'd spent significant time learning the software and doing it ourselves. At this point, we became concerned on exactly what Lottie was going to do as she was not honoring her contract. I asked several times via email what definitions in the contract meant and she refused to answer. She wanted the delta of the $5,500 bill paid 8 weeks prior to the wedding (so 100% paid then) and it was due on a Monday. We had our 2nd face to face meeting scheduled for Thursday ( 3 days later). I asked to wait to pay as I was concerned and wanted to iron out exactly what value she was going to provide based upon what we'd seen so far. Her response was "if you don't pay by midnight on Monday, you will incur late fees every day". When we did not pay by Tuesday, we got a cancellation of contract via email and she excused herself from our contract - with 8 weeks left. I would caution anyone that would want to work with Lottie in a few ways: 1. I think she is used to doing turn key weddings and work within the construct of doing everything the way she wants it - she does not like to be questioned and struggles to take direction from anyone else. 2. She does not provide her cell number and elects to work 100% via email. 3. She has little flexibility and the 2-3 meetings to be given via contract were always based on her availability, which was limited, as I suspect her higher paying, full plan clients took priority. As a side note, we knew from the outset that Lottie had another wedding in Palm Springs the weekend of our wedding and it would be her assistant, Jennifer, that would be our day of coordinator. When things became strained with Lottie, I requested to work full time with Jennifer. That was not well received nor granted. It was around that time that our contract was unilaterally cancelled. She did not show any willingness to work with us to resolve and continue the agreement. Leaving us w/ 8 weeks before the wedding is unprofessional and not indicative of a company with principles based upon delighting their clients.

She not only helped book vendors and plan all the logistics of the event, but she also created a vision for our wedding which is something that takes true talent. She was so wonderful to work with; she is empathetic, kind and understanding. I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day; she had everything handled! I could not have asked for a better event planner!

The quality of all her work profiles were consistent in high qualities, and her didn't have tons of review but all five stars. I decided to work with her after we got on a phone call. And later on I realized it was the best decision I could make for my wedding planning. First of all, which is the most import quality for me is that Lottie has absolutely beautiful taste for classy and sophistic weddings. If you are looking for this kind of style, she is the right choice. What's completes her excellent work is that she is extremely organized and responsive. Although we only had one meeting in person, I never doubt that lottie would do the right thing to take care of the planning. She always replied my email and text right away, or let us know her plan ahead of time if she would be tied up with events. And she created a spreadsheet to specify all important details including timeline, seating charts, vendor contacts ect. Lottie even helped me had a phone call meeting with my florist to specify the exact color, name of the flowers and the decors we were going to use. Without her professionality it would be impossible to get the result anything close to what we had right now. And speaking of Jennifer, who designed our wedding gift and signing board, I had to say she is a real artist and delivered beautiful work beyond our expectations. It was not until 6 months after I started my own wedding planning that I had a clear vision of the style I was looking for. I was hesitating at begining to bring planner on board for a lot of reasons. But right now looking at the end product I have to say it was never too late to work with the right person!

Also challenging was that we were planning a destination wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico. Lottie was a great liaison with our vendors since we had them coming from multiple places (DFW, California, Los Cabos), reviewing our contracts before signing and making decisions on the presentation and theme of the wedding (I mostly let her and my wife do that stuff). Since we were a little lost on what to do, she helped organize us a timeline and to-do list, coordinated flowers, table setups, was copied on almost every email regarding our wedding with all parties and vendors, helped us put together a day of event timeline, ran the rehearsal the day before with our wedding party, helped the whole day with things we hadn't thought of, plugged holes and put out fires on the day of when they appeared. I also need to recognize Jennifer who provided us some great art: a beautiful watercolor piece for our welcome sign, stationary, hand painted wedding favors. We had a couple conference calls and an in-person meeting which were immensely helpful (this package allowed 3 meetings which we couldn't fully utilize). We had both Lottie and Jennifer assisting on the day of the wedding. With such a challenging project, we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out and thought their planning services were worth every penny.

We had to tent 2 large outdoor spaces and change our table design & ceremony layouts the prior day. She instilled confidence that our tent plan would be beautiful and it was! Lottie Fowler(Grit+Gold)accommodated our schedule during the year of planning; she kept us updated and moved the planning process along. Most of all the process was enjoyable for mom/daughter to create the event with Lottie. I had an idea of the look and feel that I wanted and Lottie really brought it to life. She took the time to listen to all of my ideas, add some of hers and connect me with other great professionals for floral, rentals, dance floor, you name it. Everything went so smoothly the day of the event and I know that was all thanks to Lottie and her team! We had a short window of time to set up at the zoo and they got everything done in the allotted time – and we had a big wedding 300+ people. The wedding planner did not know that the officiant's microphone went out during the ceremony which makes us wonder where she was while it was happening. Again, design and look was fantastic; but lack of support and human interaction for the wedding party, bride, groom, and family on the day of what shocking.
