Based in Centreville, VA, Lotus Photography documents weddings, engagements, and elopements in a creative, and authentic way. Owner Georgette is passionate about memorializing a couple’s big day through unique, emotional photos. With her love for non-traditional themes and aesthetics, she will work to capture your unique love story in an eye-catching way.
Georgette went deeper with her love for photography in 2004, when her daughter Lotus was born. After years of documenting Lotus' childhood, she began photographing her friends and family for their milestones. In 2012, Georgette launched Lotus Photography, which she named after her biggest inspiration. Georgette now happily works with couples throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC and beyond.
Lotus Photography services weddings of all sizes, from intimate elopements to extravagant receptions. Georgette can accommodate an array of photo styles, including candid, photojournalistic, and artistic, to best match your nuptial theme. She loves the creative process, from helping you choose the best location for your engagement session, to helping with wedding details, she will customize your photography experience. Georgette's husband Steve joins when a second Photographer or Videographer is needed, together they are the ultimate duo!

As long as I can remember, I have loved taking photos and the art of capturing a moment. My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment.
I love nature and art and exploring Virginia and the Washington DC area for those non traditionally beautiful or off-the-beaten path spots that we often overlook. I'm a huge animal lover and it's always super exciting when furry babies join a wedding day or session!

We searched through just about every photographer in the area for our wedding - it was super important to me that we had the absolute best photographer to capture one of the biggest moments of our life. After some deliberation we chose Lotus and, let me tell you, she was 1000% the right choice. She was absolutely amazing to work with, her personality and expertise were just beautiful and really blended in amazingly with our wedding.
She is by far the most skilled photographer I have ever seen and I can honestly say that as she was even able to shoot absolutely beautiful photos even after we lost power shortly after the ceremony began due to a storm that blew through! I’m talking amazingly beautiful photos in absolute darkness level of skill. She was very prepared for the day and had we of picked another photographer I honestly don’t think we would’ve gotten photos that were half the quality of hers in the same situation. Months later and we’re still hearing about how great of a photographer she was from our guests - I wouldn’t hesitate hire her again or recommend her to anyone that asks. She really is amazing.

Georgette was truly phenomenal and her attention to detail/eye for capturing the perfect shots are unmatched. My wife and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture our wedding day. I could give you a million reasons as to why you should book her for your photography needs but I would run out of characters. Simply put, she's the best and you absolutely need to capture your special moments.

Georgette took my surprise engagement photos at Stone Tower Winery, and my fiancée and I could not be happier! She was fair in her pricing, the best communicator of all photographers I discussed plans with, and generous with her time. She had great suggestions for taking different photos, and also listened and improved our ideas for photos as well. She provided us with great sneak peak photos within a few days and a few weeks later over 200 photos included with our discussed package.
Photos were edited well and provided in both black and white.

I cannot say enough wonderful things Georgette and Lotus Photography! After the phone call discussing our vision, I knew we'd click immediately. She (and her husband!) was everything I needed for our wedding day; communicative, prompt, prepared, friendly, flexible, and incredibly resourceful as it started to POUR right after I arrived at the venue. 😅
The additional photobooth option that we chose was ran smoothly by her husband and ended up having some of the funniest photos of the night!
We rolled with the rain and skipped the outside shots. She was able to identify multiple locations inside our venue to get my "list" of shots I wanted and I couldn't be more thankful for how beautifully they all turned out! I will definitely be recommending Lotus to anyone looking for an expert photography company. Thanks again, Georgette! 💖

Georgette, plain and simple, was amazing - she was easily a top highlight of not just the wedding, but of the planning process itself. She made us feel comfortable the entire time during both the engagement shoot and the wedding day itself. She went out of her way to understand us both as individuals and as a couple, what we wanted, and more. She made us feel confident in who we are and what we were doing. Georgette and I clicked right away from the first convo and were on the same page creatively and aesthetically. She was very easy to work with and managed to get great pics with everyone and helped a frazzled bride even bustle her dress :) she was funny sweet and gave good feedback (I am an awkward person for photos and attention. She made me comfortable) I am so excited to see the pics and would recommend anyone to use her! She even had some fun tricks up her sleeve and really knows how to work the lighting for the best photo results. She is also flexible, kind and funny / fun to work with. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Georgette. She is talented, enthusiastic, and thoughtful, and she truly cares about her craft and the couples she works with. She communicated regularly with us before the wedding, and she was flexible in rescheduling our engagement shoot due to weather.

Georgette has amazing energy and the patience of a saint. We appreciated her creativity and ability to direct our large group of people with decisiveness and charm. She captured several priceless candids throughout our wedding that we will always treasure.
In terms of areas for improvement, we did not have a wedding planner or day-of coordinator which led to some organizational mishaps. She prioritized a few shots we weren't expecting that came at the expense of ones we were, but overall we were very grateful to have her on our team for the big day. We can't wait to see more of her work in the future.

Georgette is fantastic! She captured our day beautifully and with so much energy! If you’re looking for a photographer who will help get you hyped and make you laugh, look no further. Lotus Photography was wonderful to work with for our winter elopement. Georgette instantly put us at ease, managing our time together with a mixture of professionalism and a cheerful, engaging personality. We really appreciated that she worked to find interesting backdrops in our somewhat spontaneous shoot location, as well as being so mindful about the cold weather and making sure we were comfortable throughout. I worked with Lotus Photography as the event planner. They were amazing to work with because they showed up early, did exactly what the bride asked for, great communication so that we were in sync for the important moments to capture. Even after the wedding, the final pictures were just stunning. You can tell that they put care and passion behind editing a special moment for our clients. I don't even know where to start in my review. Georgette is beyond talented! Her ability to capture the pure love, joy and happiness between me and my new husband was simply amazing. She is so easy to not just talk to but is very responsive with any questions or ideas and is so amazingly effortless to work with. I gave her inspiration pictures for certain poses that I wanted and she delivered but her ability to capture candid moments as well as know what poses work best for my husband and I was above and beyond. I really can't say enough amazing things about Georgette and Lotus Photography! Her energy, talent and artistic eye is above and beyond! I cannot speak highly enough of Steve and Georgette. Steve was our engagement photographer and we were so happy with how those came out that it was a no brainer to ask him to shoot our wedding as well. We wanted video too, so Georgette came on board to tag team our big day. Hiring Lotus Photography was hands-down the best purchase I made for my wedding. The day of, Georgette was so attentive and never left my side. She helped me with so many small things and really went above and beyond just a photographer. She was my right hand through dress stain removal, emotions, and some drama! She carries some essentials with her just in case and they seriously came in handy! You're not only getting a photographer, you're also getting a supportive buddy for your wedding! We had a wonderful experience with Georgette at our party. She made sure to get some great shots of all of us and our friends and family. I like how she checked in with me multiple times to insure I had gotten all the shots I’ve wanted. We got the prints this week and they are BEAUTIFUL. Oh. My. Goodness - this is a largely overdue review, but we wanted to make sure to share how wonderful our experiences were with Georgette from Lotus Photography!
I fell in love with LP's portfolio and reached out to her to talk wedding photos. At the time, we only wanted first look and ceremony photos (so maybe 3-4 hours), but seeing her work and getting to speak with her we quickly decided to book her for our Feb 2022 wedding for 6 hours plus an engagement shoot.
When we met in Oct 2021 to do our engagement shoot in Frederick (Baker Park) we knew immediately we had made the right decision. Georgette is incredibly professional, wastes absolutely no time, and periodically checks to make sure we were comfortable throughout the session.
Leading up to our wedding day, she maintained contact with me as needed, and was so incredibly patient on the day when I ended up being behind getting to the venue. She was also so encouraging and helped navigate a mild but tense moment that occurred toward the end of the night. She was incredible and talented.
She was able to capture some special moments throughout our day (I have one photo of the groomsmen excited about pockets that fills me with joy every time it pops up on our digital frame) and haven't been able to stop looking at our wedding album. Go with Georgette and Lotus Photography - you will not regret it!!

I hired Georgette for my wedding celebration back in May/2022 and I had the best experience, she exceeded all my expectations, so I hired her again for a photo shoot with my husband in DC. I highly recommend Georgette's work, she is very attentive to the details, she makes you feel very comfortable and all the pictures turn out amazing!

Having Georgette as our photographer was an amazing experience, lotus photography was hired for not only our engagement pictures but wedding as well. During our engagement shoot we felt completely comfortable and relaxed with her guidance throughout, and we knew we wanted to feel the same experience for our special day. Once wedding day came around, my fiancé and I had an emergency change of plans and even within half an hour of starting our shoot she was able to accommodate to our new plan in such a short notice! She’s THE BEST. She truly made us feel so special during our big day.

We couldn't be happier with our photos from Lotus and would highly recommend Georgette to anyone. We wanted a couples session done a few days after our small wedding ceremony and she was great about being flexible with scheduling when we needed to change the date. During the session itself, she was very enthusiastic and had wonderful energy which really helped us loosen up and enjoy ourselves rather than trying to take things too seriously. I actually think this is part of the reason the photos came out as great as they did! She was also game to do some creative shots down in the river (which we LOVE) and even got a few snaps of the butterfly that landed on my husband while we were switching locations (which also came out beautiful). Overall, it was a great experience and the pricing was very reasonable for all the gorgeous photos we got. 10/10 recommend!

We absolutely loved Lotus Photography when we used them for our wedding in February. Georgette was so patient with my 'huge Latina family' in finding unique ways to capture our special day. Since it was COVID, it was a small wedding, but looking at the photos, you would never have known for she took pictures at all angels, of everyone present, it was spectacular. The fact I got prints in both color and black and white was a double win. I highly recommend her and her team for any wedding and any event. In fact I just hired her for our our Fall / Christmas Family Photo Session. We are definitely repeat customers. The Blankenships.

Georgette and Steve were so wonderful! Having two people taking pictures was huge plus. We got so many great photos I can't pick my favorite! Georgette made me feel so comfortable and helped calm my nerves before walking down the aisle. The amount of photos she provided was unbelievable! I hired georgette from Lotus Photography for my engagement photos and loved her work so much that I hired her again for my wedding! She was really communicative both before and after our shoots, which I really appreciated. She was fun to work with and both sessions felt very laid back. Our photos turned out beautifully, and she even knew how to get our dog to pose for the camera!

Georgette and Steve did an amazing job with our wedding. Georgette and I talked extensively before the wedding in order to ensure that our visions were on the same page. The day of our wedding both photographers got candid shots of all the wedding party as well as guests. I look forward to working with Georgette and Steve in October for our reception!

From our first meeting on the phone, I knew Georgette was the best person to hire for our wedding. She just seemed so enthusiastic about photography and about doing our wedding. She came early to the wedding. The pictures were absolutely gorgeous and I'm so glad that we went with her. Communicating with her was always so easy, she always responded right away. Georgette was amazing from start to finish! Very responsive when I reached out, set up a phone consultation, and she made sure to tailor the session to exactly what I was looking for. We wanted a couples session with our very squirmy 3 month old puppy. Georgette was so patient and fun to work with! Our session felt very relaxed and easy, even my fiancé who hates taking pics had a great time. Most importantly, the photos turned out absolutely gorgeous! On top of that, we got our pictures within two days. I am so glad we trusted Georgette and her artistic vision on the photo location and poses, etc. We could not be more pleased with the price, the session itself, and the results and we can’t recommend Georgette more highly!

Lotus photography was punctual awesome personality! She even waded in the river to get all our good photo shots!! Since we did our ceremony in the river! She was so accommodating and we had so many cute poses! I would recommend Lotus photography over and over again! So awesome . They adapt to your needs!
