I donāt usually leave reviews, but after my experience, I felt compelled to share. I ordered a custom Louis Vuitton-themed cake from Love and Cake by Sarah for my motherās surprise...
birthday party. Based on Sarahās positive reviews and photos of her previous work, I was confident the cake would turn out beautifully, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
I sent Sarah reference photos for the design, assuming she would use the traditional brown and gold Louis Vuitton color scheme. However, the cake I received was cream-colored with small gold accents far from what I expected but thought itās fine long as the LV around the sides of the cake is brown.
Worse, part of the Louis Vuitton print on more than half the side was purple. When I called her immediately after pickup and still parked in-front of her home, she admitted that her edible printer ran out of ink but she didnāt inform me beforehand. Instead, she suggested I angle the brown side of the cake for my mom to see, which she did the same to me before pick up sent picture of the cake angled to see the brown LV and I found unprofessional and deceptive.
At the party, I noticed more issues:
1. My motherās name was cut off due to a lack of space.
2. The calendar design I requested had the 29th and 30th only half-printed.
3. The white edges of the printed Louis Vuitton design were visible making it obvious that itās printed.
For a cake that cost $165 and was meant to feed 6-8 people, I expected much better attention to detail and professionalism. While Sarah did offer a full refund if I returned the cake, I couldnāt go without a cake for my motherās special day, which was in a few hours. She also offered to make a cake for my daughterās birthday to make up for the mistakes. I havenāt gotten a response from the my email I sent to her over 2 weeks now.
In the end, while the cake had potential, the execution fell short, and Iām disappointed with the lack of transparency and honesty. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
This is such a late review because Iāve been so busy with work lol but I cannot recommend Love and Cakes enough!! Sarah is so sweet and helpful!! While deciding what kind of cake w...
e wanted she was quick to respond and offer other details to add to the cake. She even added skulls!! This was the best birthday cake!! I definitely recommend her business to anyone thatās looking for a neat cake!
1 hr before pick up she was asking me about details of the cake, was supposed to pick up at 11am then changed to 2pm. Waited an additional 30 min after I got there because it stil...
l wasnāt done, finally got it at 2:30pm. Very unprofessional. Cake didnāt turn out how expected. Tasted okay- disappointed in the cream cheese filling, tasted like it came out of a tub of frosting from the baking ile. Not worth the high price. Will not be ordering again. Purple is the cake I got, pink is the cake I requested- other than the dripping disaster it looked great.
Sarah from Love and Cake made us the perfect wedding cake! We got engaged at a special carving of our initials that we made in a tree 8 years ago, and we knew we wanted to find som...
eone who could incorporate this into a cake for our wedding. We did a lot of searching online, but so many of the cakes we found that were meant to look like tree carvings were so fake looking. Sarah made our vision a reality! Her attention to detail and the way she was able to make our cake look like a real tree was unlike any other vendor we could find. Other cake vendors didnāt even come close to being comparable to Sarahās cakes. Her cakes truly look like works of art. Not only was our cake perfect, but Sarah was also very friendly and easy to work with. She invited us to attend a tasting of 12 different flavors of her cakes. We were able to pick what flavors we wanted for each tier of our 4-tier cake. It was so difficult to choose only 4 flavors because all her cakes tasted amazing. She also provided us champagne to enjoy during our tasting, which was very thoughtful!
Sarah also went above and beyond by helping navigate through some extra booking requirements that our venue needed from our vendors, and she truly was so great to work with! She also drove 2+ hours to deliver our cake to our venue just outside of Sedona, which was so appreciated!
Most importantly, our cake was delicious. Since we wanted a large/tall cake to portray our tree carving, the cake we purchased was meant to serve 120 guests, but we only had 80 guests. We figured weād be bringing a lot of leftover cake home after the wedding, but the entire cake was eaten! It was so good that many guests were going back for a second slice! It is rare to find a cake that tastes as good as it looks, and Sarah exceeded our expectations.
THANK YOU Love and Cake! We look forward to ordering a mini version of our wedding cake from you for our 1-year anniversary, and we will absolutely be back to order even more cakes for other occasions in the future. We highly recommend Sarah!!
100/10 recommend Love and Cake. Sarah made our gender reveal cake perfectly! We gave her an idea of what we wanted and she recreated it perfectly--to the T! My partner and I wanted...
it to be a surprise gender reveal with a pink or blue filling to share with our family. Everyone LOVED IT. She was willing to accommodate us in the process of having a family friend contact her when/if needed . The frosting was delicious as well as the cake filling. Sarah was very communicative, responsive, punctual and the cake was even ready a day early! We will very much be a returning customer of Love and Cake! Thank you so much, Sarah! :)
Sarah made our wedding cake with short notice and it was absolutely beautiful. We gave her some vision photos and she knocked it out of the park. Our wedding was at the Phoenix Zoo...
and she worked with the coordinator at the venue to deliver it early in the morning (we had a morning wedding) and everything was seamless. We highly recommend her!
Love and Cake it is all in the name. From the moment my husband and I met with Sarah. She made every moment magical it was like having an old friend walk you through the entire pro...
cess. During our private tasting, Sarah provided us with coffee and other beverages if we wanted them. She took pictures of us during the cake tasting (I asked if she would take pictures). We tasted 12 different cakes that she made just for us. Each cake was divine and perfectly made. As we got closer to the wedding Sarah checked to see how my wedding planning was going (Yes, The planning ladies, not the cake). Sarah later checked in on the cake we exchanged pictures, conformed guest numbers, and discussed gluten-free opinions. On the day of the wedding, she personally delivered our cake about 45 minutes before the wedding started just as we requested. Words can not explain how beautiful our cake was, It was breathtaking and the flavors were everything and more. Working with Sarah was a breath of fresh air and anyone planning a wedding should use Love and Cake. I will be using them again in the future.
I came to Sarah with a very specific idea of what we envisioned our wedding cake would be and not only did Sarah deliver spot on with what we were looking for, the cake design in p...
erson was even better than we could of ever expected. Design and cake beauty for sure 5 stars. What really exceeded our expectations was not only that the cake was a beautiful and classy piece of edible art but she offers (and encourages) choosing several flavors for the cake. Our dream cake was 4 layers, so we decided to go for it and have 4 different flavors, 1 per layer. Every layerās flavor was (no joke) the best cake Iāve ever had to date in my lifetime. Her cakes are amazing! So happy that we chose Sarah and her company āLove and Cakeā for our special day. Thank you so much Sarah! Sending all my friends and family your way for special occassion cakes. One small adder that I appreciated greatly was her level of professionalism. The weeks leading up to our wedding weāre overwhelming to say the least, Sarah was prompt and handled things with our day of coordinators and venue without having to pull me into the mix. That is priceless when most vendors and wedding related planning/prep are in constant pulls for our attention (naturally). One less thing to worry about, Sarah had it handled like it was nothing, 5 stars for professionalism. Thank you Sarah!
Sarah from Love and Cake came through for my fiancƩe and I in a very big way. I had given her just a general idea of what I wanted the post proposal engagement cake to look like. T...
hanks to her creativity and good communication skills, she was able to put it all together in a timely manner. We were more than pleased with the final product.

I ordered here for my wedding cake and it came out better than I hoped for!!! Itās hard to find someone to make something just how you want it and Sarah did just that!!! She was am...
azing throughout the entire process. She even almost got into an accident on her way to my venue and somehow still made it safe to make my day special! And I canāt thank her enough for that!
The cake itself was delicious, but where this experience fell short was on service. I ordered a white cake for a wedding party of 20 guests with a backyard ceremony/reception. I sp...
ecified that the ceremony started at 4:30pm and needed the cake delivered by noon, but a misunderstanding resulted in a delivery of 4:20pm. There were a few back and forth calls that day to inquire about the delay, but with little resolution. I was reached out to after the service to give feedback on the experience and Sarah handled it very well. Had she not reached out I would review this differently and while it caused stress dealing with the delay in the end everything worked out well. Given Sarah's honesty and understanding, it seemed like an honest mistake. I'm willing to try Love and Cake again because after all, the cake itself was delicious and enjoyed by the entire party and Sarah was pleasant to talk to even while dealing with a complaint. Mistakes happen, but how a business handles them makes a big difference.
I worked with Sarah at Love and Cake and her customer service was phenomenal. I live in Atlanta, GA and was shopping for my niece and nephew's wedding cake for the Phoenix/Scottsd...
ale area. I do wedding cakes as well and belong to many Facebook baking groups. I did a shout-out for recommendations and Love and Cake was highly recommended. She was quick to answer my initial contact. I explained to her that it was for my niece and nephew's wedding. She hooked them up with a tasting and with her help, my niece and nephew came up with some awesome flavor combo's. Plus Sarah created a small gluten-free cake to serve as well. The wedding was on November 13th, 2021 and the cake was so beautiful. Not only was gorgeous but tasted exceptional. The bride and groom were quite pleased. I checked tables to see how much cake was left on the serving plates and the only thing I saw were a few crumbs here and there. Many guests came back for seconds. Very little cake was left. In summary, I would definitely recommend her. The next time I am in town for a celebration and need a cake, Sarah will be the first one I call. Bride and Grooms, you will not go wrong with Love and Cake.
I came to Sarah a few months before our wedding, and told her my perfect cake idea and she šš» understood šš» the šš» assignment! She was so quick to respond, and was absolutely...
0 hassle to plan with.
And let me tell you about this cake. It was not just how I envisioned, it was better. And the flavor was even better. If you need a custom wedding cake, Love and Cake is truly the only way to go. Thank you again for creating my dream cake.
Honestly.. 5 stars isnāt enough to describe how AMAZING Sarah is. The cake is delicious. You canāt go wrong with any of her flavors. It was hard to pick just two for our wedding ca...
ke ! It was decorated beautifully and EXACTLY how we envisioned. Sarah was so accommodating as we live out of state... I am originally from AZ and so when I went home for a visit we had a consultation and I was able to fly back to KC with a tasting box in order to try the flavors with my man! Everyone at our wedding still cannot stop talking about how good the cake was. I genuinely canāt recommend her enough. Professional. Delicious. EXCELLENT and affordable. BOOK HER !
Sarah is amazing! Sheās personable and willing to work with you on what you want for your wedding cake. Ours turned out perfect. There was a hiccup, (our bottom layer was destro...
yed) but we worked together to make sure the cake was finished!(we decided on another flavor)
By the way, dark chocolate and raspberry mash filling is to die for!
Highly recommend!!! I am a destination bride from the east coast, and my wedding planner actually recommended Sarah. Her cake photos looked stunning on Instagram, and she was so e...
asy to work with over the phone- which is extremely important for a destination bride because itās already so difficult being far away. I let Sarah know the style of cake I wanted, a semi-naked (but more iced than non-iced), with a floral waterfall, and I was just blown away with how the cake came to life! Exactly what I envisioned. The detail was just unbelievable and the flavors were amazing. Sarah also gave me recommendations along the way, such as choosing 3 different flavors for a 3-tier cake. Also, my dad and step-mom originally did the tasting for me since they are local to Arizona, and they said Sarahās cake blew everyone else out of the water! I would highly recommend Sarah to any bride and groom!!! Sarah said she also does mini replica wedding cakes and I absolutely want to get one for our 1 year anniversary! :)
Sarah with Love and Cake was wonderful to work with! Our cake turned out exactly as we had envisioned it and it was so delicious too. I am gluten free so she made one layer GF for ...
me and it was excellent. I didnāt get to try the non-GF layer but my husband and everyone else said it was delicious. Thank you, Love and Cake!
I've never received a cake as a thank you gift and I have to say it was such a beauty! I got red velvet.

anything. It was so good I froze the left overs. I will say if you prefer sweet frosting, just say so because this was great but maybe not quite sweet enough for my crazy sweet tooth.
The owner texted me to make sure I was happy which was a nice touch! I am actually ordering a cake from them today for my sisters 40th.
Iām sad to say this because all the other reviews are great. At first we had a great experience with Sarah. She was responsive, willing to meet our wants and needs, and made us a r...
eally good sample. She tried to change our plans for tasting the cakes last minute but we werenāt able to accommodate so she stuck with our original plan. A week or two after we tried the cake, she followed up with us to see how we liked the cakes which we appreciated. The cake and filling were great, but we didnāt like the frosting and we let her know that. She then gave us another option for the frosting which shows that sheās flexible. However, we submitted a quote 3 weeks ago and still havenāt heard back. Iāve followed up multiple times a week through text and Instagram and she responds to let us know sheās working on it, but ultimately she still hasnāt given us the quote. Our wedding is coming up in 2 months so this has been a huge bummer. We understand life gets busy, but 3 weeks just seems too long to wait for a quote foe the pricing and it makes us feel like we arenāt important as clients. Needless to say we wonāt be going with this company for our wedding cake.
I reached out to Sarah a week before the wedding date, we went over some inspirations I had seen online for the cake and made adjustments as needed. Sarah got to working on the quo...
te right away, she kept me up to date at all times with the progress of the order. On the day of the pick up the ceremony ran a little longer than expected so I was about 15 mins late, Sarah was very understanding and accommodated for us. The cake turned out absolutely beautiful and the couple was very very happy with the cake. The flavor we chose was the Classic Vanilla and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone enjoyed the cake very much, highly recommend!
I really enjoyed working with Sarah! I had been reaching out to several different cake places to get a very specific cake of a pug for my boyfriendās birthday just to make it more ...
special. All the other locations were not able to and hesitated at the idea of making a pug cake but Sarah was willing to work with me and make it happen. My boyfriend and his entire family loved the cake and dedication .
This was absolutely THE BEST cake Iāve ever tasted in my life! The process of putting my ideas to life and delivery was amazing. Everyone at our wedding was raving about how tasty...
the cake was. I will definitely be using Love and Cake for future events! Sarah is incredibly talented!
I contacted Sarah in July about doing a wedding cake. I put down a deposit and requested a tasting. She was more than happy to take my deposit. But then, all communication came to ...
a grinding halt. My continued attempts to reach her went unanswered unless it was about last minute tastings that were happening.
As time got closer, a mutual friend reached out to her about my wedding and Sarah indicated that she did not have a wedding cake for that date. I then started to attempt communication again. She was not interested in getting details from me or providing me with delivery vs pick up options. Finally, two weeks before my wedding, I had to scramble to find someone else. I have requested my deposit back but am still waiting despite her confirmation that she received my request for my money back.
I'm super disappointed. I have heard amazing things about her cakes and I wanted to keep everything small business vendors for the event. But, I was left with zero confidence that she would be able to follow through with her commitment to our special day. In addition, my fiancee called her shop not knowing she was the person I was having issues with and she was more than happy to try to take his money for a tasting ($100) but no details on the cake despite the wedding date it would be needed for.

ut her vanilla classic with raspberries was amazing and we chose that for our wedding cake. She did exactly what we requested with a simple crumb cake for my husband and myself and cupcakes for our guests! I would highly recommend them! I canāt wait to have her cake again for our one year anniversary. She was timely, affordable, professional, patient answering many questions and so sweet to work with!

er times when I have ordered other cakes from Sarah. They are late and/or not finished when I need to pick them up. I have ordered 4 cakes from Sarah and each time they have not been ready when we have agreed on a time for pick up. Two out of the four times she has delivered them to me after they were not ready on set pick up time and then asked me to pay for delivery. Sarah's cakes are GREAT and the effort she puts into them is amazing but her inability to be punctual is unprofessional.
This is the second cake Sarah made for our family.
The design was superb but what was better was it tasted amazing
Our cake was beautiful and delicious, exactly what we wanted. The coconut rum is especially recommended, it was incredible.

Every other vendor prepared 4 tiny bite-sized samples. Sarah presented us with at 10 large, moist, flavorful samples. Each sample was amazing. This was really like a diamond In the rough. So thankful we found her when we did.
Sarah made a 4-tier cake for our wedding. Each tier was a different flavor because we loved every cake we sampled we couldnāt decided on one flavor. Sarah did all the baking herself.
She was engaging and warm She answered all of our questions she even let us mix two of the flavors together to made one fun cake.
We highly recommend you get your wedding cake at Love and Cake.

found really welcoming in the chaos of wedding planning. I showed her a picture of what I liked, and she made it into reality. We had a 3 tier cake With three different flavors in each tier. We decided not to save the top for our 1st anniversary, but plan on having Sara make us a tiny anniversary cake when the time comes of the white cake with the Grenache and raspberries that was just amazing. Sara basically just took care of business and I didnāt need to worry about anything.

ose which flavors we wanted for our cake. Sarah created a beautiful three tier cake (each tier a different flavor) with yummy buttercream frosting. It has been one month since our wedding day and our guests are still raving about it. Especially the buttercream frosting! Thank you, Sarah, for making such a beautiful cake. We look forward to having you create another cake for us in the future.

nly a few months to go before the wedding. I found Sarah on TheKnot. Her work is absolutely incredible. I was blown away by some of her designs. Not only is she creative, but her cakes are delicious.
We were able to schedule a cake tasting. I was so impressed by the flavor selection. She has a lot of unique flavors. It was hard to narrow down our favorites, so we ended up doing a four tier cake (each layer a different flavor) and cupcakes (four additional flavors). I think our guests were very pleased.
Overall, we had a good experience.
Knowing the talent Sarah has, we were a little disappointed in the overall look of the cake and the fact that it didnāt have the cake topper we requested, but the flavors made up for that.
We would definitely use Sarah again and absolutely recommend her for any special event.

My mother had contacted her and asked she could do a three tier with butterflies incorporated.
Some how with out even knowing me she designed the perfect cake! She had made delicate white butterflies that I believe she had painted fluttering all across the cake. My cake was delivered with no hassle, the most moist delicious cake you would EVER taste, the flavors of the cake are unique and compliment each other so well, not to mention the price is very reasonable!
Thank you thank you!!!!!!
I canāt wait for my anniversary cake!

Long story short, the owner and her husband james seems like they are nice people. However, the situation was so frustrating that i decided I should share I wish I would have known...
before i got my engagement cake from them. They are very unorganized and un professional. I paid for my cake MONTHS in advance ($487) and we had confirmed that it would be delivered and the date and time and everything. 2 weeks before the party she messaged me asking if i wanted delivery.....to which I told her yes thats what we had previously agreed on. she then said that they forgot to charge me for delivery and I had to pay another $50. That was the first red flag. A week before the party she asked me what my colors were....again.... so I screenshot our previous convo and showed what we had agreed on before... and in these months/weeks before the party I confirmed 3 different time the address TIME (3:30) and DATE(Aug 23rd) of the party to which she said yes too because i wanted to make she she understood since she seemed to keep forgetting things. Day of the party the hotel called me and told me the cake has not arrived yet.... I called her at 4:40 20 mis before party and she said she had me down for the 24th the following day in her calendar....I WAS BEYOND SHOCKED. she then proceeded to say sorry we must of had a miscommunication which really made me even more upset because i confirmed it 3 TIMES. when I pay OVER $500 for a cake I expect a little more professionalism than that. She ended up bringing the cake hours later with a topper that kept falling over literally was made out of paper. And half my guests had already left at this point as well. It ruined my night and was embarrassing. I was the one that had to tell her I wanted some money back for not receiving the service that I PAID for. She ended up giving me only $75 back. If she was fair and gave me at least 30-40% of what I paid for back It would be at least fair. Horrible

avors we got to taste. We decided to do a smaller wedding cake, and have a bunch of cupcakes for our guests. We basically only gave her a general description of the style/theme we wanted, and we let her take over from there with the actual design of the cake. So we didnāt know what the cake was going to look like until the day of, and we were more than happy with how it turned out! The wedding cake was gorgeous and she also did such a great job with adding cute little accents to our cupcakes. We got a lot of compliments on how good the cakes tasted! Sarah was very easy to work with through the whole process, and readily available with communication either through email or texting. Weāre so happy we discovered Love and Cake, and we will definitely be coming back for future cake needs!

met with them on one occasion and I gave Sarah a very broad list of things I liked in/on a cake. She was able to capture my vision (without me even knowing what my vision was!)
And the cake flavours? Well those are on a whole other level! Iām not even going to attempt to describe them with words - you will have to find that out for yourself, and I can promise you, you wonāt be disappointed!!!
