hat they do care about the end result for the couples, willing to go above and beyond to make sure things go smoothly. We had a dedicated coordinator for our wedding, but Josh provided plenty of tools and was always open to discussing details. We added on a few things in addition to their DJ services - they offer several different options, but we went with uplighting, the voicemail guestbook, and the live photograph service.
The uplighting was nice and set the mood for the dance floor. They provided a neat looking rotary phone for the voicemail guest book, which our guests used to leave us messages in their own voice in addition to our traditional guestbook. After the wedding, we were able to easily download all of the voicemails our guests left us. We’ll love looking back at our wedding and having both funny and heartfelt messages from family and friends in their own voices for the rest of our lives. The live photography service let our guests upload photos they took during the wedding, and our DJ played them on a rotating slideshow at his booth. Our guests shared great photos of them partying at our wedding and old photos of good memories. We were also able to download these after the wedding and will love having these less professional photos of everyone enjoying our happiest day.
While originally Josh was meant to DJ our wedding, he had a scheduling conflict and put us in contact with Elliot/DJ Ellz. Elliot was just as professional as Josh and did a very good job on the day of, working off a collection of songs we provided for the reception and expanding them. All our guests loved the reception music. We still get compliments months after about how good Elliot did.We also appreciated how seamlessly Josh resolved this scheduling conflict on his end, providing us with a quality alternative with no stress or cost to us. Day of, Elliot and Lynn came in with all their own equipment and everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Love and Light Entertainment for your wedding.

At the event I was very happy that the volume level seemed to be set perfectly for the space. The sound was adjusted well for dinner, toasts, and dancing. relatively small guest count! In planning, he takes great care in making sure he's clear on what your vision is and what he can do to help support it. Josh has a television on the front of his DJ booth that he was able to utilize in a ton of creative and helpful ways. Using a QR code, our guests were able to send him photos (both historical pics and photos people were taking at the wedding itself) to display on his booth, which was an awesome way to make the wedding interactive and light. We also displayed our childhood photos on the screen throughout the night (in between the guest submission photos) which was an endearing touch -- he really is able to do so many things with his setup that can be tailored to the theme/colors/energy of your wedding. But the BIGGEST thing that we loved about having the TV on his booth is that he was able to display a video toast from a veryyyyy dear friend that wasn't able to make it to the wedding. It was absolutely incredible and we appreciated it so much. 10000000% recommend working with Josh!

ting married in a tropical storm is rare around the DC area, so to say that there were many firsts is an understatement. Despite the technical and logistical challenges of having a wedding in the middle of a tropical storm, Josh and Lynn still delivered. Our wedding was held on board a boat as well which added to the complexity of their set up and clean up. True to their words during our last meeting before the event, they made sure we had nothing to worry about.
They even took up duties that were not assigned to them all to help out a frantic groom and bride make last minute adjustments. Without being prompted, they both did an amazing job controlling the crowd, recording the audio, keeping us on schedule, as well as keeping the party going. Even being cheerleaders in a tropical storm to an obviously stressed out couple. In terms of the more orthodox aspects of the job, Josh and Lynn did everything flawlessly. From the decorations, to the announcements, to the music - everything flowed seamlessly as if they were reading our minds throughout the entire event. In the months leading up to the event, Josh was always responsive and receptive to our ideas. A true professional who held the highest standards of customer service.

songs they would like to be played. He played all the songs requested on the portal. The portal also has suggestions for general dancing and the event songs. While at the wedding, he played songs not on the portal request list, that were also special to me (the bride), showing he can read the musical style of the couple. He also has a link for guests to post requests during the event, which can be made into a QR code. He recorded the speeches, which was unexpected and greatly appreciated, as now they can be listened to for years to come. The lighting and wall monogram added to the ambiance and there were always many people dancing.

He has designed a really nice website to help make the process easier and this shows how much time he has put into his work. He was super engaging throughout the day and we even loved dancing at his table with him, just the 3 of us, during the reception. He just bought a new DJ table which can display text or logo on it and that was a cool addition. Also, strongly recommend the cold sparks which added so much to our first dance and other moments throughout the night.

In addition to doing a great job with the sound, the lighting and photo slideshow effects that we used were super cool and our guests were very impressed. We found the planning portal easy to navigate and it helped us think of many things we might have otherwise overlooked.

We had to make changes to the ceremony music last minute and he adapted perfectly. Also..he is a REAL DJ. He did not just stand up there and click a button to move from song to song..this guy read the crowd and the energy, he mixed songs, he got people dancing. ic of the late 90s/early 00s mixing in some oldies and music from today to get everybody dancing, and he did just that. We had a party filled with folks on the dance floor all night—including family you wouldn’t normally expect to see let loose out there.
Beyond just the music selection, Josh was great at keeping the timeline of the party going. I chose not to go with a day-of coordinator or wedding planner, instead managing a lot of the details myself. I was able to give Josh a timeline of the day, and especially the reception, and he followed it to a tee—always coming to check-in first to make sure we were ready to move on in a couple minutes—whether to speeches, cake cutting, or even just from the cocktail reception to actual reception and dinner. Because of Josh’s organization and all around excellent DJ-ing, as a Type A bride, I was able to let go and just enjoy our day.

We postponed our wedding from last year to this year due to COVID and I was so stressed with constantly emailing our vendors and putting reminders in my calendar to email them for updates. I didn’t have to do any of this with Joshua. He would actually email me first and made the process so much easier! He also was ready to jump on a call at anytime, helped with the timeline, and I felt like he genuinely cared and was passionate about what he does. He suggested we get amber uplights to go with our theme (and included dance lighting) and I am SO happy with the results. It really brought the visuals together and the pictures look amazing!
Onto the wedding day. Joshua was on time and set up fast. He was on point with the timeline, but also knew when to wait a few minutes to start. Both of our families didn’t like our choice for reception music and constantly went up to him to request something more upbeat, but Joshua didn’t change the music until he brought it up with us. He was quick to play requests (but also knew which songs not to play when my drunk friends made requests). The number one thing is that he audio recorded our speeches and got videos of us dancing all night. This was important because our videographer didn’t show that night. He was quick to send over everything he had so we could piece together our special night! Honestly, I can go on all day about how great Joshua was. I highly recommend him for any event!
