Our venue required a day-of coordinator and we luckily found Candace. To provide context, I'm a Type A bride with a 20-tab spreadsheet tracking every detail. I’ve worked in project...
management and operate my life this way. I didn't need much help except thinking through logistics for an event of this scale: wrangling vendors, managing the timeline, and handling setup/takedown. Candace was able to do just that.
Pros
a) Candace provides seating chart, RSVP tracking, and other templates to help manage information (I didn't need these as I already had them organized).
b) She provides timely email responses.
c) You get one general meeting to discuss vision and expectations, a venue walkthrough a few months prior, then a final meeting for decor, setup/takedown, and timeline. Come prepared with questions and documentation.
d) The day itself seemed to go smoothly. There was a snafu with dinner as our DJ/MC introduced speeches consecutively (including our thank you that was supposed to segue into dancing). It’s unclear if this was miscommunication or covering a venue issue. But despite arriving late and finishing the ceremony early, the day went as planned.
e) Decor takedown was done before the event ended (while dancing continued) so our parents didn't have to stay late.
Cons
a) Tammy was the assistant for rehearsal and day-of. She seemed less experienced than Candace and had a condescending demeanor. Examples:
* 1) During rehearsal, I was stressed by my mom and struggling with AirPods to practice my processional song secretly. Tammy told my in-laws, friends, and husband something like "this is too much for the bride to handle, she needs a moment”, making me sound like I was crashing out. I wasn't crying, screaming, or acting out. After checking on me due to that statement, my husband went back to tell the group, "she's just struggling with the AirPods."
* 2) When I realized we forgot things at our Airbnb (3 minutes away), I gasped and did a little squat to the floor. She immediately said "you need to calm down. You seem very stressed. Everything will be fine, and remember to smile." I was actually extremely calm (no butterflies, panic, nothing). I responded "I am. My friend will grab it quickly." She kept reiterating this for most of the pre-ceremony time (my husband noted this too), making us wonder if it was more for her benefit.
* 3) I made a Canva file clearly laying out decor for the Arch, Aisle, Sweetheart Table, Cocktail Hour, and Guest Tables, with detailed notes. My husband and friends had to decorate our arch (another con: I wish we'd been told months in advance during the venue tour that Candace's team couldn't do it for liability reasons, not 3-4 weeks before). We understood Tammy and Candace would set up the rest since it didn't require a ladder. I'd labeled every box and asked if they wanted to review the decor during rehearsal, but they said they had the designs printed and were all good. Apparently not as Tammy was confused by the aisle markers when my husband was supposed to help with arch set up. She didn't understand them, so he had to take time away from arch setup to show her the boxes and explain them. She still seemed confused about whether they tie to chairs or go on the ground, which is weird for someone who's supposedly worked weddings before as well as seen the design files.
* 4) During my mother's speech, she stood in the wrong spot for the photographer manning our DSLR video camera. The photographer was gently trying to redirect her when Tammy aggressively moved her. My mom laughed it off, but we discussed it the next day as from a spectator perspective, it was overly aggressive.
Overall, we didn't appreciate Tammy as she felt more discombobulated and stressed than us, speaking to us and guests in a dismissive/condescending tone.
b) At times, we got better direction from our photographer than Tammy and Candace. Our photographer seemed to be wrangling Tammy in addition to us. We barely saw Candace but she did check on us a few times. Our parents felt the same. We assume Candace was managing behind-the-scenes work with F&B and venue teams, but unclear.
c) We felt we were waiting around when we should have been taking photos or mingling with guests. We'd built in buffer for alone time and guest time but didn't get the latter until dancing. We didn't attend cocktail hour at all when we had arranged for 20 minutes for us to mingle with guests after our grand entrance/first game/group photos. We just went straight into dinner. There were moments we just stood around waiting with little communication about why, missing opportunities to experience our wedding with guests, probably our biggest regret despite the overall lovely day.
Overall, we were satisfied with Candace's work leading up to and on the wedding day but wish she had brought a different assistant.

For Candace, she is great! She let us come to her studio a month or two before the wedding so she can discuss with me what kind of vision I want for the wedding. I mean I don't know much about flowers but she gave me recommendations and showed me what they look like. She even sent me home with a sample table centerpiece and leftover flowers. My wedding aesthetics came to life with her.
Doris, my month-of wedding coordinator, is simply the best. There were so many things that went wrong a week before with the wedding ceremony venue (we did it in a church so there were so many restrictions). She helped us all through out, never losing her patience and always remained kind with her words. Like I kept telling her, she was the one keeping me sane for that last month until after the wedding was over. Even during the wedding, I knew she had a million things to do coordinating everything, she still always found the time to check in with me and see if I need anything.
I highly recommend this team! They were very professional, easy to communicate with, and always went above and beyond for us.

so many factors to considered. From day one, she has been attentive and detailed. Although I was the one procrastinating, she was very patient and kept me on schedule. She stepped in when I could not balance planning, work, and school, and took the lead on things I sat on. We had a full day and through each phrase, she ensured the vendors arrived/set up on time, the "to-do" list was taken care of, and kept the program moving along. Any issues that arise, she took care of it and did not have to come to us for a solution. imeline and gave me so many suggestions with regards to vendors, how to decorate my venue, how to discuss my needs with vendors, what to look out for when signing contracts, etc. She liaised with all my vendors to confirm their arrival time to the venue, made sure all insurances were in place, and all final payments were made. On the day of the wedding, she and her assistant kept close communication with me, my husband, and my bridal party to ensure everyone was where they were supposed to be at the correct times. My husband and I did not have to sweat at all about where our things were and if we should clear up anything in the venue before leaving to our rooms in the hotel. By the time we made it to our hotel room, we found everything neatly packed in boxes and ready for us to take home. The whole day moved by quickly yet flawlessly. I'm going through a conflict with my venue over-charging us for the bar tab. I had messaged Candace for confirmation on the details and she was very quick to respond with backup details to support me. I would recommend Love Is Sweet Events to all my friends! <3

This is suppose to be a joyful and fun experience planning a wedding and instead it is a complete nightmare. Not only was there a lack communication, I was unable to even work with her team who are not qualified and can't handle stress. I lost my venue due to me actual visiting the venue and it not suiting my wants and instead of her and her "team" working to help the situation, i had to chase, txt and call with no answers from anyone. Losing a venue is a big deal but clearly they didn't care. This has been nothing but a huge scam. They had no interest in my needs and only care about charging you. Now I'm 4 months away from my wedding and having to hire another wedding planner to start all over again and praying that it works out. This team will disappear on you, act like children and do not have an sense of urgency. I wasted my time flying to LA to have nothing accomplished. I can't understand how she is still in business. Her treatment is completely disgusting and not professional. It's all about her and her team versus you and your wedding day especially when I'm paying over $8000 CAN for her services.

e been doing most of the wedding planning myself as I like to be in control and arrange things on my own. But I know I will be crazy busy on the day of and I need someone to help me to execute the things I planned.
Kathrine was very organized and I had really good first impression of her during our consultation. I decided to hire her on the same day. She's easily accessible and responded to email, text, calls quickly. I had to make some last minute timeline changes and special requests and she was able to accommodate and made the changes quickly.
I had a rehearsal the day before my wedding day, Katherine and two assistant coordinators (Angela and Jennifer) all came and did the rehearsal in a few runs. It really helped us and wedding party to know the rundown on the day of.
On the big day, they arrived way before the vendors to start preparing for the setup. Jennifer also came by makeup studio I was at to check up on me. She was assisting me the whole time during wedding photo time.
By the time we done with photo and walked back the venue, I almost teared up when I saw the setup. Things were setup the way I envisioned if not better. No words can describe how happy and excited I was.
Everything went smoothly through out the night and I can't thank Katherine, Angela and Jennifer enough. After all the guests left and we are about to go home, all the items we need to take home have already been neatly packed and put in our car.

• She is extremely responsive and approachable: From the get-go, months before we got married, Candace made herself available to us via phone, text, email and always responded within 24 hours, usually within just a couple hours.
• She listens: She really listened to what our vision was and helped us make it happen. If I asked her for her opinion, she always had one, but at the end of the day, she listened to our needs and made them a reality.
• She has experience and put me at ease in times of stress: Candace really knows her stuff. Anytime I had a question, she had the answer. Anytime I called her a tad stressed, she’d always say: “We’ll take care of you, don’t worry”. Her inner confidence and calm nature put me at ease every time.
• Candace is so organized and well prepared: For example, to prep for the wedding day, she provided each vendor with instructions and a shortened timeline customized for them. She reviewed all contracts and always caught something I missed…and the list goes on.
• She knows how to manage a huge wedding party: 10 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen. Candace printed out a shortened timeline for the bridesmaids and groomsmen too, as well as tips for them to keep in mind on the wedding day. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen were so impressed!
• She goes above and beyond: Candace went above and beyond in every way. There are so many examples of this, but one example is that on the day of my final walk through with my venue, Candace drove 1.5 hours away with her assistant Katherine just to help me. This was certainly not a requirement in the contract, and I really appreciated it.
• She has a lot of integrity: Candace is an extremely honest person, and I felt that I could trust her 100%. This was so important for me. On the wedding day, I was comfortable leaving her with about 20 envelopes filled with cash tips for our vendors.
• She is extremely professional: Candace and her assistants Kathryn and Angela are true professionals. The way they presented themselves with our vendors and our guests was immaculate. Even our guests were noticing and commenting on how awesome our planning team was!
• She is so friendly! Candace is such a genuinely kind and friendly person. It’s so easy to get along with her. I felt so quickly as though we were friends.

They helped us organize all of the information necessary for our wedding day, offered to run errands for the wedding, and worked with the reception venue wedding coordinator to gather vendor insurance information. On the day of the wedding, they made it so stress free for my husband and me. We didn't have to worry about anything because they were overseeing everything. She was really patient and tried to explain everything to us, keep us within the budget and helped us to find the vendors already once I told her that we liked to proceed. With a short period of time, her team was so supportive especially her assistant Jennifer helped my husband and I out with a lot of things, we scheduled appointment almost every other day. Candace and her team helped us to picked out my perfect dress, our perfect venue and she even attended the menu tasting.
I was really pleased with everything and especially on the wedding day of. I can't say enough thanks to her staffs Jennifer, Angela and her bridal assistant. Even my photographers were surprised the fact that the bridal assistant followed us the entire whole day and ensure the wedding party drank water, feed us food and giving us vitamin to keep the energy going.
The wedding decor was absolutely beautiful, we had beautiful flowers with light purple uplights. The atmosphere was wonderful and romantic, my husband and I had so much fun on the wedding day. the best thing was no need to worry anything at all because this team came to remind us and check on us every 10 mins. After researching several wedding planners, Candace had the best price point for a full service wedding planning package. We reviewed her website and the photos of her wedding style, and scheduled a meeting with her. At our meeting I explained some of the unique challenges for planning our particular wedding. At our meeting, Candace was attentive, caring, and excited to share her ideas about how we can work together towards coordinating a great day. We hired her immediately after our meeting.
Candace’s full service wedding package includes coordinating the bridal shower. Candace handled all invitations and RSVPs for our guests. Her team worked with my bridesmaids to come up with games and decorations that blew me away. My bridal shower was held out our home. Candace coordinated all vendor rentals and made the space look like a fairytale. She bought the flowers, decorated the tables with beautiful classic centerpieces and created a table setting for every single guest. My family and friends are still talking about that day.
I quickly learned that being organized and detail oriented is key to this process. Candace embodied these values. Her excel sheets and diagrams were life savers. She executed our vision for wedding décor brilliantly while being sensitive and conscientious about our budget.
Candace also added her own special, thoughtful “touch” to every meeting. When we met with Candace, sometimes after a long workday, she greeted us with yummy snacks or cool tea. She treated each and every one of the members of our wedding party with care, and made them feel so very special. On the day of our rehearsal, she provided everyone with a detailed timeline for the day of our wedding and was able to gently and seamlessly gather and organize a very rowdy group of people. Candace never made anyone feel rushed or hurried, and struck a good balance between getting things done and allowing our guests to visit with each other.
During the week leading up to the wedding, Candace and her team handled the last minute wedding details brilliantly. As in every wedding, there are things that sometimes go wrong. Candace was honest about any bumps in the road but also offered creative and thoughtful solutions to any problems we encountered. She and her team were the first to wake up in the mornings and the last to go to bed in the week leading up to the wedding.
We got married on one of the hottest days of the year. This did not stop Candace and her team from running around to make sure that our wedding vision was executed. And it was executed beautifully. Candace and her team made sure that I was fed and hydrated throughout the entire day. Angela, her assistant, delivered lunch for our family and friends at the hotel. Angela also followed me throughout the day with a cup of water while we took pictures so that I wouldn’t get dehydrated. All these little special touches made us feel like Candace and her team were truly invested in giving us the best day of our lives.

The first time we met, she showed us examples of the detailed timelines, venue layouts, and vendor contact lists we would get if we hired her as our wedding coordinator. It was clear she knew what she was doing, and we wouldn't have to worry about things falling through the cracks if we hired her. It was also clear from our first meeting that she loves what she does and loves working with couples, and that was the kind of person we wanted working on our wedding. We decided that day that we wanted to hire her.
Throughout the wedding planning process, Candace and her assistant Jennifer, were readily available to answer any and all questions, and offer advice or vendor recommendations, as needed. Our wedding venue was at a summer camp, which was a beautiful outdoor/indoor space, but was essentially a blank slate, and required that we rent and bring everything in, from tables and chair, to cups and silverware, as well as additional lighting and other decorations. Candace skillfully handled all the vendors, and with the help of her assistant Jennifer, sent vendor specific timelines to each of our vendors, so they would all be well-prepared for our wedding day and knew exactly when they were expected to arrive. Our venue also required someone with an eye for how to pull all the elements of the venue together in a cohesive manner. Candace handled the logistics of all the vendors beautifully, but just as important, she was able to turn our vision for the venue into a beautiful reality, rather than explosion of disparate Pinterest pins, which I'm pretty sure is how it would have turned out if my husband and I had done the decorating ourselves, without input from Candace.
On the wedding rehearsal day, Candace and Jennifer were at the venue with us for 5 hours, helping to set up tables, tablecloths, setting up the silverware and plates, as well as helping with decorations and then running the actual rehearsal.
On the day of the wedding, Candace sent another assistant, Nancy, to the hotel to help my husband and myself with anything we needed, while she and Jennifer were at the venue getting the last minute things set up. Nancy was invaluable, as she helped track down the groomsmen, kept us on schedule with the photographers and picture taking, and helped transport our personal items from the hotel to the venue.
Having Candace and her team taking care of all the logistics allowed my husband and I to focus on the wedding day, and fully enjoy every moment of it, rather than worrying about setup at the venue, vendor deliveries, and dealing with questions from servers/bartenders/etc. If anything went wrong during the day, my husband and I knew nothing about it, which is exactly the way I wanted things to be.
In short, if you're at all considering hiring a wedding coordinator, you can't do any better than Candace and Love Is Sweet Events!

We are a very DIY-couple, and made many of our decorations and plans ourselves, but needed help to make everything come together and flow smoothly on the big day. Candace helped us find some of our vendors (Jessica Elizabeth photographers and Deefined Floral Designs were AMAZING finds!), kept us informed of what we should be doing and when, and was absolutely lovely to work with! Candace made sure everyone was where they needed to be on the big day, and that all of our decorations were set up the way we wanted them. She and her assistants even took the time to move the chairs for the ceremony into the arrangement I wanted when the venue told us that they couldn't do it unless we paid an extra $150. She and her staff were professional, reliable, and absolutely made a difference in making the day into the perfect experience we had been hoping for.
