Owner and Operator Katie has been in the industry for almost 20 years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson and Wales University. She is an award-winning cake artist who would love to make your sweet day even sweeter!
Hi I’m Katie! Owner and Operator of Love Story Cakes. I grew up In Richfield MN and now reside in Waconia, MN. After high school I decided to pursue my passion and venture out to Rhode Island where I studied at the prestigious Johnson and Wales University. I learned so much but the wedding cake course was by far my most favorite! After graduating I worked in various commercial bakeries where I honed my skills. I now am living my dream of owning my own business making sweet cakes and desserts for amazing customers!

We met at a coffee shop and talked through dessert options over six months in advance of our wedding as we were anxious to get our cake and dessert plans settled. We were pleasantly surprised at how affordable our wedding cake was. We opted for a 6 inch round on the bottom with a 4 inch round on top. Our florist left flowers for Katie to arrange on the cake after we gave her some inspiration photos. It turned out absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t have been happier. To make it even better, it was absolutely delectable. We opted to serve gourmet cupcakes in addition to our small private wedding cake. The cupcakes were gone very quickly in the night, so I would recommend purchasing more than one per person like we did!
