Susan S was t...
respassing on our property (we have a sign posted at the entrance). When Cindy found Susan S and two other people walking through our house, Cindy rightfully, and firmly, told Susan S that she was trespassing. At that point Susan S decided to argue with Cindy, and hilariously told Cindy that Susan S's trespassing was our fault, basically for owning an 'Historical Property' and for not having enough signs up! We have never offered 'self-guided tours' and our website has a link/webpage for scheduling tours for wedding events (with us). Susan S can tell her story, but ours is very different.

guest book in the hallway & video cams, I'd assumed it was meant as a self guided tour as it was listed as a historical landmark online. I took my 89 year old dad there yesterday to tour the place, & as we were nearly finished, a woman, (I'm assuming the owner), asked why we were there. She informed me that it was not for public viewing without an appointment, and I apologized, then attempted to leave, but she absolutely would not let up angrily berating me all the way out to my car for my error, though I apologized profusely. So that no one else will be humiliated as I was, I wanted to let others know not to make the same mistake. It would have been helpful if there were a no-trespassing or a by- appointment only sign, either on the premises or on the list of internet sites that present Notley Hall as a historic residence to visit.

Cindy and Jack went out of their way to make sure our favorite bridezilla had the night of her life. We enjoyed the peaceful waterfront.

Beautiful country waterfront setting. Owners were easy to work with and very accommodating. They helped us from the set up of the event, all the way to the clean up of the event....
They are constantly available should any need arise. If you are looking for a peaceful venue in the country of St. Mary's this is your place.
My husband and I have had such great experiences with this venue both as a bride and groom and as guests, and I cannot say enough good things!
The manor house is just stunning and...
the barn is a such a perfect place to have the reception with the waterfront views. The owners are some of the kindest people I have ever met- they were always ready to help us when we needed something. This is the first place I recommend to my friends when they're looking for a wedding venue.
And as a bride and groom, I have to say everything went off without a hitch for our wedding. The food was delicious, DJ was rocking and drinks were flowing. Thank you for making our wedding day so special and perfect!

Unless you don't want to hear the music your DJ is playing OR be patient enough to see the owners traipsing about your ENTIRE reception complaining about what your guests should or...
should not do, volume of your music, telling your guests they have "had enough to drink", etc....DO NOT book with this venue. All of this happened approximately 630 to7pm and she acted like it was 2:00 in the morning!! It's a shame because it is a beautiful place. The owner told the DJ he would NOT be allowed back on her property, told at least 2 guests to stop drinking because they were drinking too much (both had a limo home and NOT inappropriate), unable to touch up makeup or apply make up in the brides room in the main house, Nothing to eat or drink in the house. The owner also told the caterer he was not allowed to have a drink AFTER he served, cleaned up and put everything away. He is a close friend of the bride and did the family a favor. So after his work, he was officially a wedding guest. They did not care. Choose elsewhere. Unless you plan on no music or alcohol or fun!!
