Book Your Wedding with LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens

About Us

The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens in Baton Rouge, Louisiana offer a gentle respite from the every day hustle and bustle to make memories that will last a lifetime. Couples can enjoy a serene wedding day among the camellia, rose, ginger, herb and other gardens interwoven throughout five miles of manicured paths. Other features of this natural paradise include woods, arboreta and wetlands. Share your day with friends and family amidst the scenery at the gardens, where you can hold your wedding outdoors or indoors at the various ceremony and reception sites on the grounds.

Created to honor Miss Ione Burden and her fondness for education, this simple, yet sweet facility can accommodate 120 guests for your day. This venue has a few rooms that can be used for weddings including the foyer and conference room with exposed beams and stained glass windows. Indoor and outdoor cooking space is also provided for catering purposes.

Renting this space includes the use of the atrium and outdoor gardens which envelope this building, which has the rustic feel of a vintage schoolhouse. An intimate venue for a rehearsal dinner or for a small affair, the conference room in this space will accommodate up to 10 seated guests. The Steele Burden Memorial Orangerie's main hall can be set up for a total of 100 seats for your ceremony. As a warming bonus, there's a fire pit outside and couples may bring their own wood to burn throughout the evening.

This space looks out over the luscious rose garden and will seat up to 95 guests. When renting the Steel Burden Memorial Orangerie and the Atrium, couples may also make use of the tables and chairs from those areas to accommodate their reception.

This open-air venue, located near the Burden Woods will allow couples to exchange vows in the outside, with plenty of natural light and lush greenery. It has a 100-person capacity and a fireplace for couples and their guests to warm up after the reception.

These lush gardens are the ideal venue for a larger guest list. With capacity for over 200 guests, the space is sweeping, but feels intimate, surrounded by greenery and flowering bushes.

What You Should Know

Events making use of the entire property take precedence over smaller parties. Weddings are not considered officially booked until the center has approved your application and received the full deposit.

Couples may rent the space for engagement photographs for an extra fee. All events must end at 11 p.m. Cleanup is not provided when renting any of the Botanical Gardens facilities.

There are also some limitations on decor at this venue, including a prohibition on confetti, glitter or candles—although flameless candles are permitted. All rentals must be for a minimum of five hours. Couples must provide chairs, tables and tents or rent some of them from the venue themselves. Catering and beverages are not available at the venue, so couples must contract with outside companies and a preferred vendor list can be provided.
